We had an appointment for 2, I waited with my feet soaking for 30 minutes while my mother was being attended to. When the woman started to do my nails, she rushed so fast that we finished the pedicure at the same time. She did my nails in the same rushed fashion. I had finished 30 minutes before my mom. Unsterilized equipment was used throughout. Her stations were filthy. When I asked her to fix my nails, yet another rush job, still looked terrible. Nail tech (maybe manager or owner) tried to use nail clippers on me that were stuck in a pencil holder with brushes etc. so I stopped her and asked if she didn't have any sterilized equipment. The employee behind me translated and then she got up and got sterilized tools. She ended up cutting my finger and I was so glad I asked for the sterile tools. IDK why she didn't start with them! I have gone to this salon several times because it is within walking distance of my house. But I am not planning to go back. There is one really careful and skillful tech there, a young college girl. I think her American nickname is Amy??? She was good. But the last few times, I haven't gotten been able to get her due to her taking more classes now. So I gave other techs a try. One was new, and I decided not to judge, because everyone has to learn. But the next time, I got another newbie, and had a similar, disappointing result. Both times, the techs were fairly unskilled, but not supervised closely. Both were too aggressive on the buffer (I get gel or dip) and both unable to understand my English enough to communicate what I wanted. The third and final time, I got ANOTHER new tech, a woman of Hispanic origin who was fluent in Spanish and English. But her skills were just not there. She agreed to do a simple dot pattern, but complained "Your nails are short! There's not much space!" It's only dots, so I thought was doable, and certainly I am patient. She tried and wiped the designs twice. I stopped her on the third try and told her "Just do the color." Instead of apologizing or explaining that she is learning, she blamed me, saying "Well, you do have short nails, so designs are not possible for you." I've always had short nails, and I've had designs many times on them! Other problems: Again, too aggro with the buffer, weakening my nails. Also, the manicure had brush strokes on two nails, wasn't smooth. She cut one of my fingers during the prep, and admonished me "Hold still!" instead of saying sorry. I visited for a gel manicure. I used them before for a polish change and it was fine. They were not welcoming at all... no hello etc. For my manicure, I noticed that the instruments were not sanitized, they were already sitting on the table. The place looked like it had never been cleaned!!! During the manicure, I was cut twice and bleeding on my thumb. When I mentioned this, she first ignored me then tried to say it was there before I came in. The cuts were actually bleeding. She never acknowledged the cut or apologized for it. Terrible customer service, gave us a hard time about being next to each other, felt like they were annoyed the whole time. Rushed through manicure and pedicure. Worst massage ever and their chairs equally suck. Rough edges left on nails and my feet still have rough spots. Just not an enjoyable experience all around especially for a planned girls' day and I don't like how my nails turned out in the end, they're uneven and not smooth. I asked her specifically not to trim my nails but she did anyway, she did very rushed and aggressive filing to the point my fingertips were burning in pain. Let me confess: I didn't actually get my nails done here. I was supposed to. My BFF made us appointments for 2:15 p.m. I arrived on time and was told to start soaking my feet. ("Told" is a strong word; the woman working on my BFF's feed just sort of pointed at the water basin.) The water was cool-bordering-on-cold. I have been getting gel acrylic nail fills and pedicures at Bliss for about 3 years now. The customer service is outstanding and the shop is beautiful and, even more importantly, clean. My 20 year old daughter also gets full sets of nail tips for special occasions and is consistently pleased with her service as well. Overall I had an okay experience at this salon. I got my eyebrows waxed, a pedicure and a gel manicure. The total came to $68, which I thought was okay. My nails were styled by a younger girl. She took the time to talk to me and ask about my preferences. She attempted the design that I wanted but her skill just wasn't quite good enough. I will give her props for being persistent and trying several times. My nails did start chipping in just three days, and I can normally get two solid weeks out of a gel manicure. The salon itself was clean and they had a TON of colors to chose from. They even had polishes that change with temperature. Nail technician was fast, but not 100% thorough. They didn't have the color I wanted (Mademoiselle.. a very common color!) Went yesterday afternoon for a manicure. I didn't have an appointment but called ahead and they said they weren't busy. Staff was very friendly and there really wasn't a wait. My nail tech was very nice but that's about all the positive comments I have. Other clients there seemed to be laughing with the staff which made me think there must be a lot of regulars. I'd think that's a good sign. My experience, well, I think a 5 year old could've done just as good. It was only $15, so I'm not concerned about a refund. The nail tech really jammed into my cuticles with that tool they use. I've had my nails done many times before and normally it's a gentle experience. Then she seemed to be having trouble with the polish. I noticed it was going on pretty thick but she didn't say anything. She did a lot of touch ups. I knew it probably wasn't the best manicure, but it was last minute so no big deal. Then I took a look at it this morning. A huge hunk of cuticle at my nail bed was hanging so I cut it off and that's when I noticed all the lumps and cracks in my nail polish. I'm including photos. This is literally the worst manicure I have EVER received. It was the most pain and unenjoyable experience I could not wait for it to be over. She was EXTREMELY rough and was literally sanding and cutting the skin around my nails. At one point I started bleeding and still NOTHING was done about it. My face was visually showing pain and discomfort and I actually said "ow" out-loud and NOTHING. I am now left with a SLOPPY manicure and red and inflamed finger tips with cuts all over them. My nails actually looked better before going into this. I would NEVER step foot in this establishment again even if they paid me. Do your self a favor and never go here. I went in for a manicure today and I was not satisfied at all by their service. First of all, when I went I was looking for nail colors that I wanted to use and they just kept rushing me when the place was empty. Secondly, when the lady was putting lotion on my hands, I understand she had to get it on and in between my fingers but she started to pull my fingers very hard and it hurt. Then, when the lady started to put on my nail polish, it was very sloppy and rushed and you could clearly see the different layers because she didn't cover my whole nail with polish. She didn't even clean up the nail polish around my nails that got on my skin and when it was completely dry it looked horrible. I also asked for an accent nail and she ended up putting on a clear nail polish with a couple sparkles here and there and when I asked her to fix that nail she rolled her eyes.
