Here is my experience: Second times a Charm: We tried coming here last night around 7:30 and the line was nearly out the door. This afternoon was the perfect time to visit with the beautiful weather and minimal crowd. We left just in time before a very large party visited for the K-State/FL Atlantic game. Ready to Party: Speaking of big groups, Blind Box is not a big enough space for large groups during peak hours when it's busy. While we were checking out, staff were getting the back room and part of the dining room ready for the big group coming for the game. For parties and events, this would be the perfect place to host. It may be best to call the manager and inquire for more details. Customer Service: 9.5/10 Kai was our server and she was very sweet and accommodating. She checked on us often and made sure our drinks were good throughout our visit. The only thing she missed was extra napkins but this was not a big deal, as this is something that is often forgotten anyways. Food: 8.5/10 I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. My husband ordered the customer favorite: the Notorious P.I.G. Both of us got a side of fries. The pulled pork had great flavor. Sadly, it was not tender enough for me. My husband said his sandwich did not disappoint and I agree! It was topped with onion straws and they were exceptional! The barbecue sauces had a nice smokey after taste, my favorite being the sweet flavored sauce. The spicy sauce is a slow burn with a major kick that creeps up on you. It definitely would pair well with a sandwich for sure, but not sure how it would taste on ribs. The brownie was decent but it had a little too much chocolate sauce for me. I prefer a nice drizzle but I did appreciate the generous scoop of ice cream. Our total bill was $52 after tip, which is standard for the both of us to eat out. I felt the brownie was overpriced for what it was. Overall: 8.9/10 Blind Box is a solid spot with generous offerings like Easter brunch, a March Madness menu, and happy hour. I see why the Notorious P.I.G. is a customer favorite! Shoutout to the manager who was doing a quick training session with her staff to prepare them for the big rush. Finally got the out blind box BBQ. They have the cutest patio for warmer days and nights. They have quite a bit of seating and easy parking. I was amazed by all the menu items they have. They have a full bar area with unique drinks and flights. We checked out their new restaurant weeks menu. Everything was delicious from the salmon to the wings to the platter. I highly recommend you don't skip dessert, especially the chocolate cake, it was delicious. read more

The food and service at blind box are genuinely great. I've always respected the kitchen team and the staffs dedication. One of the managers was incredibly professional, fair, and supportive. Also, the owner clearly cares about the business and people in it. Unfortunately, my experience working here was tainted by the behavior of one female manager who regularly took her insecurities out on other women on staff. Instead of fostering a team environment, she created tension and made it difficult for confident, hardworking women to thrive. It's a shame when poor leadership casts a shadow over an otherwise excellent workplace. Thankfully, the rest of the management and the product itself make the experience worthwhile. read more

I am not a person who seeks out barbecue restaurants, so when I find one that has quality food and some diversity of offerings, I enjoy it a great deal. I would have enjoyed trying some of the more unique things like the BBQ wontons, but as our first trip in we wanted to sample the basics and shared a combo. The sides were good, although none stood out. I thought the chicken was a little dry (my brined, smoked chicken is better!) and the brisket came to us cold enough that my friend requested replacement. I thought the St. Louis style ribs were excellent - moist and tender. We were able to sample a bite of the pulled pork, and that was probably the best meat - incredibly moist with no fatty bits. Our pescatarian and gluten free friend was able to find something that she liked and she raved about the salmon salad. We had some excellent cocktails - I love the cool menu of those - and shared a piece of warm carrot cake with a soft cream cheese icing. Pretty solid. Service was incredibly accommodating, as we were 3 scatter-brained, overly tired and hungry diners with lots of questions, and one who tends to be quite demanding. Our waitress handled it like the pro she is. If we're going for BBQ quality only, I think Q39 may still have some better BBQ as a whole, short of my fabulous backyard smoked bird. LOL. I definitely would return to the restaurant to try some other things, and if colleagues are going to insist on barbecue, I'll try to steer us this direction, because I'm going to enjoy the diverse menu, cocktails, and sides more so than many other restaurants. My son and I came here to celebrate our birthdays and we were not disappointed. The service was fantastic and our meals were incredible. The meat was cooked to perfection. The baked beans were amazing with chunks of brisket. The Mac and cheese was creamy and delightful. My amazing guy & my awesome son with his fabulous girlfriend, went on a group date here. Upon arrival my son & his gf were there sitting at the outdoor dining of BBB. It was mostly well spaced with good lighting & decent furnishings. The staff was very friendly & helpful with the ordering process. We all chose sandwich meals & also an appetizer to start that was quite delicious! Our entrees came out promptly after we ate most of the appetizer. The timing was just right. Our server did check often enough to make sure everything was good. Yes I would certainly recommend those with a love for BBQ to give this restaurant a try! The only thing I would suggest is that you do sample their bbq sauces. There was 3 of them available in original, sweet, and spicy varieties to choose which best fits your taste bud pals. I ordered delivery from Blind Box. I have always loved their BBQ and will continue to order from this restaurant. However, the burnt ends tonight had a lot of fat and less meat than in the past. Also, I ordered 2 sides which were both fries. It appeared I had just 1 side of fries. The amount wasn't enough to be considered 2 sides in my container. The food is decent when you can get what you ordered made correctly. The customer service when using the "contact us" tab is HORRIBLE. Please note, I do not know what the customer service is like inside the restaurant, as I have only gotten things to go. I love their BBQ Nachos; however, when you get them without cheese, is it really nachos? Their ribs are good, so is the burnt ends, beans...ehhh. BBQ chips are good when they come with BBQ seasoning on them. They sent a coupon to my email; however, it did not work. I emailed them and was told they would get back with me....nope did not happen. Everything is always chalked up to "training issues", but either you do not have anybody training the trainee or it is just an excuse. If you want something different for lunch, I would definitely try the BBQ Nachos as they are the best around, when they come with cheese. read more

We had reservations for 1:15 on Mother's Day for that and a birthday. We arrived 10 minutes early and checked in with hostess. At 1:30 we checked and were told they were trying to get a table. Again at 1:35 and 1:40. One member was a week out of surgery and getting a little worn waiting. 1:45 we had a table. And they were keeping the buffet open. Now it gets better. A lady came to the table, apologized for the long wait and they were going to take care of the cost of the 2 buffet charges, and give a free desert to the birthday boy. The food, fantastic. I had a horrible hostile experience there yesterday. I felt as if the waitress was angry at us for being there I have no idea why and It just kept getting worse, she didn't ask if we needed anything and when we asked for sauce and things she got more hostile and she would toss things on our table. It got so bad we had to ask for the manager and he switched us to a new server. After that the rude waitress walked by scratched her face and flicked us off while doing it. The HH menu was a pretty good deal AND the food was fantastic. We were honestly surprised it was so empty but then again, we did start a bit early in the day. Restaurant week PSA - The "winter greens" course 1 option is the same as the brussels and bacon entree in course 2. It's a cold dish, shredded brussel sprouts salad. I was not informed of this when I ordered, and assumed the brussels dish was a hot dish! I went for the burnt end sandwich and the sweet potato fries - however I didn't care for the fries and so I got an order of the smoked potato salad (probably my new favorite potato salad ever.....) The sandwich was just the right size with buttery Buns and the BBQ sauce was perfect. Hubs tried the notoriously p.i.g sandwich as a recommendation - it was HUGE. He really enjoyed it. My son and I decided to check out brunch. It was super expensive at $32 for adults and $16 for kids. My 10 year old didn't remotely eat his monies worth and I honestly didn't either. We started with some breakfast items. My son liked the bacon and ham, but nothing else. I liked the hash browns and the Benny was delicious. The rest was just eh. The biscuits were dry and the gravy was so salty. We requested one waffle to share and it was sooo heavy and huge. They didn't offer any option other then a large one. Very tender, flavorful and juicy. The brisket was an extremely dry couple of pieces of meat with no flavor. They even had sauce on it. Still didn't change the brisket. The chicken was tasty, moist and tender. I honestly wish that it didn't reek of sewage in the restaurant. I've never been to a bbq joint that doesn't smell like wood smoke. It was surreal. UPDATE: I took the food to go because I couldn't sit in the smell of the restaurant. The food (except the brisket) is really good. Alongside the food the overall atmosphere of the place is amazing. The lighting is great and it feels really homey. We drove 8 hours through the blizzard with Blind Box as our final stop, they did not disappoint! We had the combo no. 2 and it could have fed four of us but the two of us made good work of it. Kyra and Amanda greeted us with smiles and chats even though it's a freezing day and everywhere else is closed. There was nobody else in the restaurant yet it felt welcoming and relaxing.
