Very helpful and diligent about getting rude people to turn off their bright cell phones and watches. I loved that. The major shortcoming is that they desperately need someone directing traffic at the west exit after the show. It took far too long. People weren't bright enough to use both lanes going out of the lot, so it was very time consuming. This must be improved.

The Quality Hill Playhouse (and its kindred spirit, the Chestnut Fine Arts Center in Olathe) put on full seasons of shows featuring the best in American popular music. Tonight I went with my family to celebrate some birthdays by seeing "Lets Do It," an evening devoted to the lyrics of the immortal Cole Porter. It was de-lightful, de-licious and de-lovely! The theater is small, so all the seats are good. It has been refurbished recently, and looks very nice! The theater staff were very kind and accommodating -- we had originally bought tickets for the Wednesday night show, but my elderly parents were nervous about going out because of the severe weather we were having that day. The theater exchanged the tickets for tonight and, because of the severe weather issue, waived their usual $5 per ticket exchange fee. That was a nice thing to do! This was the final show of the season. Next year's season will feature shows highlighting Noël Coward and Gertrude Lawrence and the songs of Rodgers and Hart, Comden and Green, and Kander and Ebb. (Kander is originally from K.C.) See their website for specific details, or for subscription information. The shows are very well done, with excellent selections of songs and thoroughly professional performances. There's parking available in the garage of which the theater is actually a part (it occupies the street level of the building). It's usually $6. So go and enjoy!!!

Got there at 7:30PM and it started at 8PM. The lots we somewhat lettered and numbered. We were in Lot B Row 3. It showed B3 in a small sign on the ground but seems like they need ones poles that have the signs on them too so you can see them from far away. Leaving was horrific. Some people directing traffic. But a lot of people just pull out of their spot like right where the road is and it stops the flow. Once we were by the gate on Music Lane, it wasn't as bad and they block traffic on Horizon Pkwy and people leaving venue use all the lanes to go left or right back onto Horizon Plwy. but goodness they need to have better flow. It took like 30mins to get out. Everyone cuts others off and it's just hard. Idk if they can make more exits/entrances if that would help? Prices for drinks and food are ridiculous though. $26 for some cocktail! $12 for bottomless popcorn. Just eat before you go! Maybe bring snacks and leave them in the car for when you go back.

Overall, the venue is beautiful and a great space for outdoor concerts and I'm excited to catch more live shows there.

Don't worry if you can't carry a tune...neither could half the crowd, and that's part of the fun! Now for the wallet warning. The entertainment is worth it, but be prepared to pay. There's a cover charge, a fee if you want to reserve a table, and the drinks...oof. I paid $16 for a tiny Diet Rum & Coke that tasted like it had commitment issues. My advice? Skip the mixed drinks and stick with bottled or premade beverages. Also, don't arrive hungry. There's no food menu--just a vending machine standing proudly in for the kitchen. Overall, I'd absolutely go back because the entertainment is top-notch.
