Outside of coffee shop~
Edward L.

Came here for a coffee with a friend. Parking here is nonexistent unless you count the metered parking. Or if you're lucky you might find a spot or two on Alberni. This location does seem a *bit* run down, but you probably wouldn't care. What was curious is that all of the staff were Japanese with heavy accents. I had trouble understanding some of them. Interestingly enough, this place is next to Shenanigans, which is known as an ESL hangout. Hmm.. The coffee I had tasted like coffee, which is good.

is this poster still there?

Hmmm. Vancouver's sbux. haaa. i remember hanging out here when i was up there... crap. ten years ago. The people were really nice and everything. I pondered here with my buddies... if we call certain type of ham in u.s., canadian bacon... and we order canadian bacon, will they give us ham? or bacon??? the mind working in overdrive over simple issues makes the simple-est decision a complex algebraic issue of irrelevant massive proportions! hence when u come here, don't be so crazy with the venti, dopyo blah blah crap. large coffee haaa. someone remind me, is it okay to smoke outside? i did anyways, often do here in Cali and wait for a worker to don't smoke unless there's little children around. this coffee shop... due to my pleasantries in hongcouver will always have a special place in my heart. aww. =D

What a cute cup!

Good stuff. CUTE cups! London Fog was great. I can see why this chain is a big thing up here! I liked it more than Starbucks!

Just an out-of-towner looking for a new coffee spot. I love the natural sunlight this place provides, but just a tad too busy (and loud), to enjoy a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of downtown. But if you are doing an interview and you don't want anyone to listen in on your question & answers, then this is probably the ideal place to go! Nonetheless, I had an enjoyable experience.

I have tried their Maple Latte Macchiato, asked for a little less sweet one they put half of the syrup and it was the best Latte I have ever had so far! The location is perfect and the staff is nice and friendly.

My pretty Caramelized soy latte macchiato

Their coffee is ok, if you like medium roast. They don't have a dark roast. Food was decent but not overly satisfying.

Tokyo Katsu-Sand

Downtown

I've passed Tokyo Katsu-Sand so many times when I'm on the Granville Mall downtown…read more Never really gave it any attention until I saw an IG post from an influencer who was visiting Vancouver from out of town. https://youtu.be/GDP_uBsvH6g She highly recommended the fish sandwich or Fish-Katsu. Gosh it absolutely did not disappoint & I should have ordered another one! The taste of this sandwich was so delicious, I couldn't chew it fast enough. The cabbage, tartar sauce & fish-katsu sauce are delightful together. This food truck is located right at Canada Line subway station - Vancouver Centre Station - main entrance on Georgia at Granville. You'll notice it when you come up the escalator & turn right onto the Granville Mall. Basically it's right near Nordstrom. I don't know if I'll bother with the other sandwich options cause I just love the Fish-Katsu that much. It's a very small simple sandwich. Nothing really fancy to it at all, but the taste utterly rocks. So glad I tried it & I can't wait to go back!

I always wanted to try Tokyo Katsu-Sand. They showed up at the BCIT Food Truck Festival. The first…read moretime I saw them around was at the Taiwanese Bubble Tea festival. I got the gyu-katsu sandwich. I found the sandwich a bit small and for the price, it was pretty expensive. $16 after tax. Don't get me wrong. It was tasty. I found it nothing wow. The beef was cut in a certain way that it remained as one piece to make it easier to season. The gyu katsu is their more popular sandwich. However, it doesn't come with any lettuce or anything other than the beef and sauce. The bread was nothing special. It was basically thin regular bread. It does take them about 10 mins to make the sandwich. In terms of the way they serve it, it was presented to me nicely and the box was made to perfectly fit the sando inside. Not a bad sandwich but it was just pretty pricy.
