Blazing Salads is nice alternative to your typical lunch pit stop. Instead of having a toasted ham and cheese or a cream cheese bagel, this deli serves vegan and vegetarian salads and soups. Everything is made on the premises in a small kitchen so you know exactly what you're getting and how it's made. This place is named after its salads. In order to keep things interesting, the deli experiments with a variety of different ingredients (such as using miso and apple juice) to make their dressings. The menu is more expensive than Spar and other deli counters, but the food is tastier and healthier. For 4.75, you can stuff as much salad as you want in one takeaway box. You can also put as many different dressings as you like. For dessert, they offer organic chocolate and sweets. My only problem with Blazing Salads is that there's no where to eat lunch. If they had tables outside, they would get more business.

Mmmm...yummy. Love this place! I used to go all the time, as I worked around the corner, and I got a big carton of delicious yet healthy salads. They try to keep their stuff as organic as possible and the salads are to die for. It's just a small little place with a self service salad bar and then you pay by weight. They also have a few other foodie things at the counter, but I've never tried them. It's just take away mostly, not a whole lot of room for sitting.

Wholesome and Satisfactory---you can get completely both!! Since when I fell in love with one of their salads (which was soy sauce based one, with grains, carrots, seaweeds--really Japanese one!), I am a huge fan. Nothing in their salad bar has disappointed me so far. Even though I cannot say there are "very" wide varieties of salads(everyday the same, I suppose), they are too nice to get tired of. Also, I really recommend to go there after they have completed their selections in the show case.( I'm not sure about the best time, but not around 10:00.) In this time they have also warm foods(for example, a kind of Ratatouille), which are FANTASTIC!! There are some points where this shop has an advantage to other shops(with healthy salads) . 1.They use plenty of different flavours as dressing. Even more, all of them are sugar free and with low fat but so delicious and satisfactory. 2. The degree of their foods' flavour is very comfortable. not too strong nor heavy. They never bring me heartburn or any irritable feeling of stomach. Delicious, wholesome, delightful, and you can get huge satisfaction!!

Ladies and gentlemen. May I present to you *rampampampa* Something you've never experienced before. It's amazing, it's blazing, it's....... Salads? Wait? Whut?! Maybe the name is a little theatrical, but hey, whatever. That doen's matter. And maybe the title doesn't cover the subject totally. Because they have way more than just salads! I'm talking about hot food, cakes, savories, soups and frozen food. And lot of it is vegan. In checked in twice when I was in Dublin for 3 days. Nuf said right?

Great selection with a buffet style serving method

I didn't go in, but reports from others say it has great food! I always think of the fart scene from the movie though :-)

A super solid, heroically healthy lunch spot in Dublin 2!…read more This place literally saved me. Our office is across the street and I was in for the week. It was a catering smorgasbord of sandwiches, cookies and other very tempting treats. Each day I'd dismiss myself for lunch, sneak over to Cocu and indulge in greens upon greens and very well prepared proteins. The first day I had the Viet Chicken which to be honest I found a bit water (like an inch of water at the bottom of my takeaway tin!) but the second day I fared better with the baked flaked salmon over sweet potato and spinach. (delicious!) I like the customized nature of things - you pick your box and then what you want it served over (add sweet potato for just 50p if you need a bit more filling up) and then a topping. I always went with the nutty topping and it added a nice crunch. Que moves fast. It's very reasonably priced (around 8-9 euro), and there are spots to sit and enjoy. It's run efficiently and by some very friendly folks, so even during the lunch rush you'll be in and out with your healthy box of lunching. Very good indeed!

This isn't America. The thing is though, I knew it'd be worth it. I'd been to the Baggot St one and had been harping on about it since. So, I did the unthinkable. I queued. To be fair, it went crazy fast and I was actually in and out in ten minutes. Grand. So, the food. It's really really good. The portions are huge for what you get and I love the mix of ingredients. I got the Middle Eastern chicken with avocado, feta, brown rice, green leaves and a vinegar type dressing. It was divine. Loads of everything, all really high quality, and left me with that full feeling but without feeling stodgy. It's all laid out really efficiently and clearly too, and the staff were smiley and on the ball. It's not hugely expensive, not hugely cheap, but with the quality and quantity you get, I think it's worth every penny.

Visiting Ireland for the first time, I did my best to read up on good places to grab breakfast,…read morebaked goods in Dublin and Brother Hubbard popped up on a few lists, Reddit posts, so I put it on my list to try and I'm glad I did! I walked in on a Wednesday morning, right as they opened at 9am, and was seated immediately. The sit-in part of Brother Hubbard is bright, relaxing, spacious with plenty of tables inside and there's a patio outside with plenty of tables as well. The waitress came over with a menu and gave me plenty of time to look it over. She was very courteous and pleasant, checking in throughout my time there, never hovering. For breakfast, I ordered an Americano, a ginger scone, and their Irish Oat Porridge - Classic. Their porridge is organic oats made with milk and with ordering it as "Classic", it was served with cream and honey. Starting with the ginger scone, this was another case of a perfectly baked scone - Crispy, golden exterior with a moist, buttery interior. The flavor of ginger was perfectly balanced and the raisins inside were a nice supplement to the scone. The porridge was really good, I loved the creaminess of it! Both did a nice job of filling me up and setting me up for the day of walking to come. Funny enough, around 3:30pm, I stopped here again to grab a mid-afternoon treat and ordered the chocolate and hazelnut Babka, their soft bun filled with chocolate and toasted hazelnuts. This pastry was crazy tasty! A slightly crispy exterior with a croissant-like inside chocked full of chocolate and those toasted hazelnuts. This was so rich and truly decadent. Brother Hubbard is a gem of a breakfast and pastry spot! I appreciate the relaxing café environment with friendly staff and high-quality food. I know if I come back to Dublin, I'd come back to grab breakfast, or perhaps another Babka.

I heard Brother Hubbard was the restaurant to eat at to start your day, so finally checked it out…read moreon my last day in Dublin. Brother Hubbard is a solid spot for breakfast and brunch, serving entrees, lighter fare and offers a pastry assortment that will have you pondering about getting takeout. I visited Brother Hubbard on a Sunday, half an hour after it opened and was able to be seated immediately. However, the brunch rush came afterwards and by the time I left, the entire place was filled. It's popular. And yes, it's the same spot Phil Rosenthal ate at. I even saw the owner who was featured on the show here, helping out with clearing tables and so forth. I ordered the traditional Irish breakfast and an iced chai latte. The food was good and actually, not as heavy as I anticipated. It came with an egg, sausage, bacon, beans and a pudding, which I had to look up. It's ground meat with oats and is molded into a patty. It didn't taste bad, so can see why it's served around these parts of the world. And the meal also came with another item I had to look up, colcannon bread, which was a potato bread with kale. And it was my favorite part of the breakfast! Delicious. If you're looking for a breakfast spot in Dublin, then I'm pretty sure you already know about Brother Hubbard, which is popular, all for good reason. The food was tasty, service was friendly and I loved how bright and welcoming the restaurant was. I was satisfied.
