This is probably my favorite chain pizzeria! I always do build your own (I like a lot of random stuff on my pizza and it's only like $1/$2 more). What I love about this place is the staff is super friendly and patient. They always ask if the amount of the particular topping they add to your pizza is enough so they aren't stingy with their toppings and add one (side eye at Chipotle). I personally get tomato sauce, mozzarella, all the meats, spinach, sautéed onions, jalapeños, banana peppers, spinach and I ask for BBQ sauce on it (it's like sweet BBQ sauce. It's ORGASMIC). I took a picture of it and it's amazing. As far as chains go this is really a quality pizzeria and do implore anyone who would like to explore/try different pizza options to consider this one. Two stars because the food was great - but service was terrible. Being the pizza fiend that I am, I was excited to try this pizza. As I arrived, I went up to the counter labeled "Online Orders" and there were three men by the counter/wood fire, all chatting speaking Spanish. I made eye contact with all three of them, and they made eye contact back and it must have taken about a minute until I said "HELLO?" for one of them to acknowledge me. I don't know about you, but a minute is much too long to be ignored ESPECIALLY after making eye contact with all three men who seemed to be in their own little world, mind you one of them had their back towards me and even turned around to look at me after one of his friends looked, and then turned back. Whatever, they were in their own little world. I speak Spanish so I perfectly understood what they said. After I had to rudely say "HELLO?" they said "what?", which was unnecessary. A 'How can I help you?' or even 'yes?' would been better than a 'what'. I told them I was picking up an online order, and without even asking my name, they said "It's not done yet." So I went and sat down and stared at them until it was done. After waiting and finally getting my food, they ignore the fact that my order had a drink, so I had to remind them of that so I could get my cup. I get that it's a new location so you might still be getting into the swing of things, but this type of service is making me avoid this location for a while. If you like New York style thin crust pizza then you'll love their pizza. It thick crust is your preference this shop may not be your cup of tea. I think one of my favorite things about this place is their gluten free options. I don't have a gluten allergy but if I did they are on top of making sure they change gloves, keep your food separate, etc. The toppings they offer are endless. They also offer salads and desserts. I believe that covers a majority of their menu. When your pizza is finished baking they also take the time to cut off any burnt edges. I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant. Went here during COVID time. I liked the way they handeled it. We wore our masks throughout the lines, and got to eat inside at the socially distanced tables ( sanitized too) and ate out delicious pizza. I do love and always will love the pizza here. My first impression of this place was based off of a trusted friend saying "*coworker wants to go here, I didn't like it but will give it a second try." I don't let things like that affect how I feel about a place, movie, music, etc. Taste is too subjective. He mentioned how, last time he went, he ordered first and his food came out 10 minutes after all of his coworkers received theirs. Also took with a grain of salt. I ordered ahead, online, 50 minutes before my arrival. It states online that if you do not specify a time, it's usually a 10 minute wait. OK. I figured to get there about noon or slightly after, so I chose noon. We were later than that. We got there about five after and half of our party ordered ahead. I went with my friend to the pickup section...one was just put in the oven (mine) and his wasn't even started. It was about 12:20 before I got my pizza. They knew about my order for over an hour and we're still 20 minutes late. What's even worse, I saw them put it up on the counter and not even call my name (because they expected it was a pickup, even though I had already explained at 12:05 that I was there...and they apologized it wasn't ready). Had I not been proactive, it would've sat there for who knows how much longer. A LARGE staff and they just don't know what they are doing. Now, onto the food. My BBQ Chicken Pizza was unremarkable. Aside from the sodium overload, the BBQ sauce wasn't sweet or spicy. It also formed pools in areas like it was just poured on (not a drizzle). It was also not cooked down at all. The white chicken meat was exactly that...standard bleh bagged cooked chicken pieces. One piece had horrible dark and vein-ey tendon grizzle. My friend went..."ugh, nasty grizzle." All the chicken was flavorless. The onion was decent but standard and the gorgonzola and crust was OK. We all discussed (out of 10) what we'd rate the pizza and the numbers were all over. I said 3-4 at most and the highest was 7. We discussed how you cant compare anything here to all of the pizza options around our area. It's not like any other pizza. The music was very indie electronic pop rock, that was too loud and it doesn't fit the whole vibe of pizza, but it does fit the clientele and the typical wooden bench metal feel of most strip mall eateries now (like faux mexican food chains like QDOBA or Chipotle). I don't get it. It's pseudo-hipster and it just doesn't work. I won't be back to this place. It's not healthy, don't fool yourself and it's not good pizza. I've always been a huge fan of Blaze. I had it in Albany and Toronto before and loved it both times I tried it so I was extremely excited when I heard Blaze was coming to Buffalo. I had the build my own pizza, where I was able to put unlimited toppings of my choice for a price of $8.95 before tax. I chose the red hot sauce for my pizza topped with mozzarella cheese. For toppings, I chose Italian sausage, chicken, spinach, mushrooms, and pineapple. You definitely get what you pay for here. Half a pie fills me up!! I also got to try their grapefruit lemonade, which was the best out of the four lemonades they had. it was a bit on the sweeter side so I filled my cup with extra ice to let that melt in the drink. The server was quick when taking my order and the pizza did not take a really long time to bake. I came around 3pm when it was not too busy so that was good. However, it took me a while to receive my order. I did not hear them call my name so I went up to check up on my pizza. I saw my pizza sitting there on the side ready to serve and the workers made eye contact with me, however they did not ask me what I was looking for. If there were pizza sitting there and I went up standing there in front of it, I expect for them to ask me if I needed any help, but that did not happen. My friends who ordered after me received their pizza before me, so I asked if my pizza was ready and they asked for my name. When they saw my name on the order paper, they were not able to match it with the pizza even though it was just sitting there on the table. I had to tell them that that pizza over there was mine. When I told that guy, he was like "oh, oh" but another worker behind him asked him to verify with me and ask me what was on my pizza. The pizza was great, but service could've been better especially when I came right after lunch hours and it was not busy at all. A little disappointed with my second visit. I'll admit--we were there close to closing (they closed at 10, we were there say around 9:20/9:30). However, some of the things I'll comment on where present in my first visit too-- -for being a fast service restaurant that functions as an assembly line/offers "build your own options," it's a bit odd to have music BLARING overhead the employees making your food. Add that to the metal structure of the place and the acoustics make the music deafening. It was very difficult to communicate with the girl making my pizza--several times I had to repeat myself. Maybe it's just an occupational hazard, but it seems inconsiderate for both the employee and the customer. -both times, the finishing line was lacking. Blaze offers "finishing" sauces such as ranch and pesto drizzle or the addition of arugula after the pizza has left the oven. My partner's pizza was a signature item that included pesto drizzle and arugula. I picked up her pizza for her and didn't realize this--she was confused as to why it hadn't been made properly. Turns out--they had already removed all the items from the finishing station and were wiping down the counter for the night! I get it, it was late and the workers want to go home. But we weren't the only ones eating in the restaurant. In fact a couple ordered after we were pretty much finished eating. When she asked about the pesto, not even bothering to get the arugula she was promised that she was anticipating, the employee merely handed her the bottle of pesto drizzle for her to do herself. I'm sorry, but if you are open until 10-you start breaking down stations at 10, not 30 minutes to. Especially when there is garbage that can be swept off the floor, etc. My final comment is that while the pizza was good, both my partner and I were a bit thrown off by the loud and jarring atmosphere. Maybe it's meant to be hip, but it just seems obnoxious. I'd go again, but we'd rather visit other pizza places before we run to blaze. read more

I had the original pizza dough. They do offer different types of dough (one for a thicker crust), which provides great flexibility in building your own pizza. You can order the premade pizza options and make changes. I built my own pizza. I will say I wish they had zucchini ribbons like their rival Pie Craft. Picking up the pizza was a little annoying. Let me first start off by saying that although this is my first time trying Blaze Pizza, I have heard of it and visited their competitor, MOD Pizza in Vienna, VA last year. Unfortunately I forgot what I ordered there so I can't make a direct comparison, as I would like to, but the next time I go there on a trip I will be sure to hit it up and make an immediate comparison. Speaking of which, a YouTuber mentioned that they think the primary difference between the two is that Blaze is saucier while MOD is cheesier. Maybe they're right in that while the pizza I had (Link In) was saucy, it wasn't overflowing with cheese like the one at MOD. Simple fix obviously. Now to get out of left field. The restaurant itself is modern looking, much like the other fast casuals in the plaza. As I said in another review that plaza is really stepping up its game and is now a destination for a quick bite to eat. As far as ordering and drinks are concerned, it's very similar to the layout of CoreLife next door, with a selection of tea/agua frescas/etc., but I just got tap water. I ordered the Link In with italian sausage, roasted red peppers, sauteed onions, mozzarella, and red sauce. They constantly ask you what you want on the pizza, which while I liked, I was in a rush and just wanted what the pizza on the menu said. They have quite a bit of cheeses, meats, etc., so I just got pepperoni. Definitely try to get a side salad with your pizza. They're somewhat basic, but really worth the extra few dollars. It's like chips and queso at Chipotle. -- On my second visit I got the white top pizza with sausage as suggested by Jamie M. below. When topped off with arugula and olive oil, you have a very tasty pizza that can't be beat. The difference today was that I got the $2 high rise crust. It literally elevated the pizza and gave it a lot of definition and volume. You will be pretty full after this and might want to consider grabbing a box that they have on the shelf. I also tried the cane sugar orange mango soda from the machine. It looks like sparkling water but tastes great. There's a ton of drink options and also beer and wine which will probably draw crowds on the weekends. -- Overall, this isn't a place I'll be going to every week because it's out of the way for me. But I could definitely see myself coming back after a workout or something. Really, I don't know how this area is missing chains like this. I stopped by Blaze Pizza yesterday because I had heard that they were doing a free pizza promo. I hadn't had good pizza in a while and free food is free food, so I stopped by. Others have spoken about pricing and the order style, so I won't have to focus on that. I normally can't have very good pizza from pizza places because I don't eat dairy, so I was pleasantly surprised that they had vegan cheese. That was already a few points in my book. I ordered pizza with vegan cheese on a high-rise crust (thicker crust) and topped it with a bunch of veggies. Not only did they have vegan cheese, but the person putting cheese on my pizza kept asking if I wanted more. I hate being that person so I said it looked fine, but she said I didn't look satisfied and she added a few more handfuls, which was very nice. When I asked for the vegan cheese, she also asked if I had wanted them to use clean gloves. That was a nice gesture, so for those who do like courtesy and maybe observe that level of strictness in regards to cleanliness, they did a great job. In general, they were just really nice there, even offering me a water cup without asking. Overall, great customer service. In terms of taste, it was very good and filling. The vegan cheese actually melts pretty well and the high rise has nice thickness to it. It was a very satisfying meal. I'm glad that I can add another restaurant to my rotation if I ever want it. Just wanted to update with our recent trip using their app for the first time: We did pickup during COVID (you can still order in person, which we did not know) and I downloaded their app. I have an account but never used it to get flames. Downloaded the app, linked my account, and had a seamless ordering process. Restaurants like this tend to make me very anxious because they're so fast paced to get customers in and out of line, so even post-COVID, we will use the app to order and then eat it. It is so hard for the workers to hear at places like this too, so I bet they like these online/app orders more. We had our order set for 6 pm and it was done at 5:57. We got there early and waited inside, but they are pretty accurate with the timing. All the toppings and special instructions were followed, and the flames went right to my account afterwards. I've been getting pizza at the Boulevard location in Amherst NY since it opened. At first it was fantastic. For about the last six months, the service has steadily gotten worse. The front of the house is consistently understaffed. The staff that is there seems untrained and at times borders on discourteous to customers. There appears to be no shift or general manager onsite during the busiest hours of operation. My advice to whomever is fiscally responsible for this site is to get someone in this store before you loose the customers who like the food, but can no longer tolerate the poor service. Spent Saturday afternoon at Blaze Pizza & Shopping. This was our third time to Blaze since it opened. My daughter and I ordered a "Create your Own Pizza" & "Side salad" to share. We asked for classic red and spicy red sauce on pizza and pesto on crust.. We then layered pizza with Mozerealla Cheese, Goat Cheese, Spinach, red onion, artichokes, basil leaves, mushrooms, sea salt, seasoning, and drizzled balsamic. They offer Gluten free crusts, keto crusts and more. I like the Fountain drink area as well, with lemonade, pomegranate drink, pop, and other seasonal drinks. They don't offer plates, but will give you a cardboard box to eat out of. Plastic ware and napkins by drink area. Plenty of seating indoor and outside. Right next to blaze is an adorable outdoor area for kids and families with small kids picnic tables, holiday decor, large plastic connect four game and more. My family tried Blaze Pizza for the first time and I was impressed! The staff by far was the best part because they we so sweet and courteous. Very well trained staff! My son loved that they made his pizza in front of him. The atmosphere was nice for a quick bite, reminded me of chipotle a bit. The pizza was good too, I got the Art lover and I loved it. This place has a great atmosphere! Very comparable to Pi Craft (right across the street). Recommend Pi if Blaze is busy, as it probably will be for the next month or so because it recently opened. Might be the new go-to place for lunch or if you're on a date (awwwww). Affordable, quick, and delicious! The atmosphere is modern with adequate seating and a large sized kitchen so you can watch your pizza cook over the open fire. You can get any type of sauces from normal red sauce to pesto along with a plethora of toppings. My pizza was done in less than 5 minutes, and was loaded with toppings! I can't stress enough how much they really piled the toppings on! However I recommend the high rise dough because the slices were extremely thin. They advertise that they're products are made from plants (not petroleum, didn't know cups and boxes were made from petroleum anyway). Lebron James my expectations were low for a restaurant that had anything to do with you but holy cow you shocked me more with this disgrace then you did when you left Cleveland!! The service was a joke and run so horribly I couldn't believe it. Everyone was just standing around looking at each other while a line built up out the door. I don't blame the workers when the system for making the pizzas is clearly not effective. Train your team correctly and stop worrying about adding topping like "ghost-pepper chicken sausage" that no one would ever get. I had heard they had a good gluten-free options and I was in the plaza this was located so I thought I would try them out. I got two pizzas one gluten-free and one regular pizza. I ate the gluten-free and my friend had the regular and both of us were not happy. The sauce tasted like tomato paste and the crust on the gluten-free pizza was weird it was the worst gluten-free Pizza I've ever had. Love this place. I Always enjoy the quick made to order pizzas. It's Nothing like the heavy high calorie stuff that goes by the same name at other places! They are quite efficient and the servers are happy and willing to serve with a ready smile. I am a foodie so I always choose my own signature creation of a pizza. But I never leave without their absolutely decadent melt in my mouth chocolate chunk cookies! Nobody makes cookies like that except me when I make them at home! I loooove the gooey melty chocolatey mess that lands in my mouth! So fun! A great way to finish the meal.
