We had one of our best meals on the whole tour of the east coast and atlantic canada at this place. Even compared to the foodie joints in Portland. Just wonderful, delicious pizza - perfect wood fire - and the beer was something out of this world. We had an IPA, a special amber called "Zoe," and a black stout with chai flavors that paired ridiculously well with the jack and coke cheesecake. YUM! read more

Craft beer, inventive, fresh and delicious food, great setting/decor - and oh, try the beers before you decide. What more could you want. Blaze fires on all cylinders. This is a go to stop for me when in Bangor. read more

I had lunch here with a group of Co workers recently. I had an opportunity to try the wings and some of the pizza's they offered. Those were all very good. Several of us ordered the steak with something that sorta looked like potato scallop. It was cold, pasty, with no flavor. The server did replace the mess with French fries but by then having eaten most of the steak I was no longer interested. The asparagus that was served was rubbery and inedible. Not a great dining experience. read more

My husband, adult daughter and I had lunch on a Sunday just as the brunch ended. The hostess and our server were both attentive, friendly and helpful. No complaints there. But the kitchen service took forever and when the food came it was definitely "meh." Two of us had the Carolina Tacos which sounded good but although the cole slaw and pickled onions were good enough, the pork was bland and dry. I had to salt it! The mushroom burger was over stuffed and just okay. The side salad was mixed greens with onions and red peppers that were over oiled and just too heavy for the salad. People around us seemed to be enjoying their pizza so maybe we just made bad choices. read more

first time we went it was opening weekend and i definitely would cut them slack on service and wait times for that reason. the food was good but not great. duck fat fries were cold and mushy. pizza was good but the price seemed too high for the small pizza. there were too many menus. two drink menus and two huge dinner menus and we barely had room on the table. second time we went it was for brunch. service was excellent BUT we were the only people in the restaurant. brunch selections were good but not like you'd find in portland or other big cities. we have since gone for dinner, twice. there are definitely great beer and cider options but creative mix drinks are lacking. dinner service has improved somewhat, the wait staff want to do a good job and it shows but there is an extra personal touch missing. overall opinion is: underwhelmed. they had a long time to get this location ready (2 years). that extra time could've been spent on training and food execution. i will say the servers were very friendly and the general manager was great. the owner... not so much. he stood around in jeans and hoodie looking angry during opening weekend. his picture was in the paper so you'd think he'd step it up for publicity sake alone. read more

RUN don't walk to Blaze. Visiting my daughter and grandchildren in Bangor this holiday and since it was my daughters 30th birthday we went Blaze for lunch. We were seated right away in the very cozy (in a good way) bar area and drinks were brought to the table immediately. I love the fact they put a bottle of water on the table if you need it but they were very attentive and were always refilling drinks. I had the smoked duck salad with Arugula and a pickled quail egg was Devine.the dressing was a lite lemony flavor and just pulled it all together. My daughter had the Appellation Burger and it was cooked perfectly. And saving the best for last the Duck Fat Fries with Bloody Mary Ketchup is a must.. Service was Incredible and if I lived her I would be a regular. Definitely going to try out their "social hour " before I leave in January. Give it a try you will not be disappointed!! read more

This was the first restaurant I have been to that sells duck burgers. It was awesome. The food was really good. It was very busy but service was still quick. The prices seemed a bit high for some of the food items. It was very loud. read more

Meh - all I can really describe our dinner as is that it was "meh". We were seated outside and it took a while for our waitress to check in and when we asked for a bit more time, it was almost 15 min before she returned. Our food (I had the BBQ Pork sandwich) was incredibly bland and everything needed salt. The service was slow and we had to go find our waitress anytime we needed help. We came here based on the 4 star reviews, but had a marginal meal and left disappointed. Will not return read more

Excellent experience. We were looking for wood fired pizza and wound up with a terrific pizza, mussels, oysters and tacos! Great beer selection. Friendly and attentive service. Staff accommodated our request to move inside as temperatures dropped and we were cold. Our food was hot and fresh, our server was cool and very sharp. A much better than average joint! read more

Truly amazing selection of food, beers and great service. This is one of the gems in downtown Bangor. Not to be missed.

So so good. The pizza was very original and amazing. Beer selection was great too. Only in town for the afternoon and it was the perfect spot. read more

Stopped by on a weekday night when visiting Bangor and the bar was decently packed. The atmosphere was dark and modern. The bartender was friendly and fast. The best part was that the food was amazing... we had pizza (selected our own ingredients), and the goat cheese salad; both were excellent. We weren't aware of many of the beers on their list, however, we found one we liked (Allagash). It was a great dinner, and would definitely go back next time we're in Bangor. read more

Very upscale, cool atmosphere and a unique, modern menu.

So me and my wife came here for dinner on a Sat. My 2nd time and her first. I don't know if it was the restaurants fault for trying to pack to many people in or the customers but we had a horrible experience. Food was great, and lots of drinks. It was so loud and cramped and people acting a fool around us that we got our dinner to go. When I spend $100 on a meal I don't want a dive bar atmosphere. Because of this, IF I go again I will just sit at the bar. read more

We stopped at Blaze during an overnight stop in Bangor on our return from Nova Scotia to Boston. What a great pleasant surprise! The food (fig and ricotta pizza and the sliders) were excellent. But the really memorable treat here is their brew! I liked all the brews on their sampler, but their IPAs were truly exceptional. Service was very friendly. This place is worth a detour. read more

Sat at the bar here for a meal alone. The barkeeps were all so friendly and nice! They had great beer suggestions from their vast list of craft brews. The one I got I loved. Then the food, had delicious fries to start with a great Sriracha aioli sauce that they suggested. Then I had the chorizo manzana pizza that was absolutely delicious. Would I come back here?, in a heart beat. The whole menu sounded delicious, wish I had room for more...the fried ice cream was calling my name but I just had to walk away. Next time!!! read more

Excellent food, great beer selection. Small location, but big outdoor area. Came here while traveling and they were open on July 4th! Definitely a lifesaver on a day when most businesses were closed. read more

Best chicken sandwich and duck fat fries I've had! Also the fire roasted salad was amazing! I got that as my side and fiance got the fries and my gosh I didn't know a side salad could taste so good! Awesome beer selection too. However I do NOT recommend the Brussels sprouts. No flavor. read more

3 words. Duck Fat Fries. Mmmmm. BBQ pizza is awesome as is the large selection of taps. Entrees could be a less expensive but very tasty

The pork belly was excellent, probably the best I've ever had. The beer selection was extensive. Staff was knowledgable and friendly and provided excellent service read more

Came here to celebrate my sister's birthday and the food was amazing. Our waiter chose our drinks for us and did one hell of a job. We had a plate of poutine that was absolutely delicious. I had a crispy pork belly burger that was to die for. We all really enjoyed our food. I would recommend this place to anybody. read more

Huge beer selection of local brews! Bartender was attentive and the pizza was the best we've had yet here in Maine. Classy comfortable atmosphere. We will be back soon. read more

We were looking for a great place to have appetizers & drinks in Bangor. This place was amazing. I'm so sorry to say I don't remember the name of the young woman that served us. She was very helpful with the menu & beer selections. We were there for happy hour and they have 52 beers on tap and the pint drafts were $4.50. We got a variety of items to share. We started with a dozen of the Kentucky style oysters. The bourbon bacon jam was savory with a hint of sweet and the oysters were perfectly cooked. The house made cocktail sauce had the perfect hit of horseradish. We ordered duck fat fries with the duck gravy. The gravy was hot and rich and was perfect with the crispy hand cut fries. We ordered the Thai lemon grass wings were sticky sweet with a hint of chili flake. The when pigs fly pizza had a perfectly crisp crust and the toppings were a great combo topped with fresh arugula. We will definitely be back with friends. The happy hour prices made this great restaurant even better. Amazing food and great service plus happy hour specials = one great experience read more

The service was exceptional but the food had issues. Ordered Steak and Fries. The steak was perfectly cured, seasoned and prepared but the Fries were room temperature, soggy and greasy. Definitely not freshly prepared. The entree came with no sides and screamed for the Fresh bite of a vegetable. read more

Best burger and fries in Bangor hands down good service and where else can you get duck fat fries? Classic. Clean .

Really cool place if your trying to grab something good to eat and very friendly staff.

Appalachia burger (with extra pulled pork), duck fat fries, and blazearita (a margarita with jalapeño infused tequila). Excellent. One of my favorite meals in downtown! read more

Best mussels I have ever had. The onion soup is authentic and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

The food is good but the live music is loud. They are spot on with service, food quality, and timeliness. The live music is way too loud for a "relaxed" environment. Just tone it down! Please! I love the food but sweet Jesus, I can't hold s conversation with my friends! If Blaze does this, they'd be rockin' read more

Just had a wonderful lunch at Blaze. It was our first time but definitely not our last! Duck burger and organic beef burger , both with duck fat fries. Next time we are going to dive into some truffle fries. Nothing better than truffle fries! read more

I just left this place not 5 minutes ago and I am appalled at the pizza here. We went in due to its 4 star rating and number of reviews, but now I wish we had just kept driving. I understand that I'm From NY and may have High standards for my pizza, but I get this is bumblefk Maine and gave them a chance. First, the service was terrible. No napkins or silverware at our table until we requested some. But let's talk about the pizza. We ordered the margarita pizza. There was not one good thing about this pizza. It was paper thin which is fine, but it was soggy af I couldn't even hold it up. Now, the sauce to cheese ratio is really what made me give this 1 star. There was maybe one teaspoon of sauce compared to a pound of cheese on each slice. I took about half the cheese off. The sauce was so sweet too, like I think they put sugar in it. A lot of sugar. I ate it because I was hungry and passing through. But I know there's another location in bar Harbour. Stay away from this pizza y'all. read more

Everything is delicious and service is impeccable. The servers are welcoming and smiling , that makes the visit pleasant .

I recently went to the Camden, ME, location on a Tuesday night and I was absolutely flabbergasted by the lack of service. I called about 30 minutes before we arrived because I wasn't sure about their COVID-19 policies and I was told that they do not take reservations and that you had to put your name in with the hostess when you arrived (fine, no problem) however when we arrived the hostess looked like a deer in headlights, was unfriendly and clearly had no idea what she was doing. We were told there was a 45 minute wait so we sat in some chairs along near the bar to wait. During our wait we observed a complete lack of organization, several overstretched staff members rushing around and a hostess who could not keep the waitlist straight. The Camden location has indoor, outdoor and bar seating however it was not clear if we had a choice. At one point there were 4 seats at the bar open and we asked if we could sit at the bar instead and the hostess just stared at us, didn't answer the question and then walked away. 5 minutes after we asked if we could sit at the bar we observed a couple walk in from the street, sit down at the bar without speaking to any staff members and then promptly get served. We finally were given a table outside where we waited for 35 minutes before a staff member came over to take our order- meanwhile several other tables that were seated after us got quick service. It took another 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive and another 30 minutes for our food to arrive. The food was acceptable but hardly anything special and our bill was outrageously expensive for the caliber of food and drinks. In addition to all of this the lights on the patio were not turned on and the heat lamps were not on either- considering it was April 20th in Maine these things should have been thought of. Needless to say, we will not be going back. I would not recommend going to Blaze unless you won't be hungry for at least 2 hours post your arrival, you enjoy watching chaos ensure, and you like being ignored by wait staff. read more

great atmosphere. liked the pizza, great selection of craft beers
