Came in on Valentines Day... 6 of us. Two other people were inside eating... no greeting from staff when we got there. About 6 people working. Half the restaurant was closed off... understandable but I'm glad there was one bigger table available otherwise we wouldnt have had a place to sit. Prices are a little expensive for what you receive. I did not get pics this time... we got the New Mexico lotaburger, reg lotaburger, chicken basket, and buffalo chicken sandwich. We also got seasoned fries, reg fries, chili fries and onion rings. The food was fine but nothing amazing. One of the drink dispensers wasnt working... they took the tea to the back and didnt bring it back... and with only us in the facility, they decided to clean the bathroom... so we had to leave their place, after spending close to $100, and go to Walmart so my 4 year old could use the bathroom. The hamburger buns were old hard, asked for no tomatoes had tomatoes, loaded friesbok, chocolate vanilla milkshake is why I gave it a 3 and the service was friendly and polite. The burgers were not worth the wait and the new burritos are ok. Recommend if your not getting a burger. read more

So first time to Blake's Lottaburger outside of New Mexico and in Tucson. It's the first time I've been to a Blake's in about 5+ years. It's different than what I remember. The burrito is significantly smaller and it's not as good as it used to be. The counter service was friendly and fast. I mean so fast my burrito didn't get prepared as well as normally. Ie they didn't melt the cheese in the burrito so it was a combination of ingredients in a wrapper. Growing up in the ABQ, it was always a treat to see mom walking in with those unmistakable white bags from Blake's. I can still remember that flavor of the burgers...the fries....chasing it all down with a real cherry coke. Many summer nights were capped off with said cherry cokes , they were so good. After living in Tucson for many years, I was excited to find out Blake's was coming to town. I waited for the buzz to die down and ordered a NM style meal with a biscochito shake. It was good. The green chile makes the burger..no question. I wanted more from the burger but it was fine. I really enjoyed the shake. I miss biscochitos. I've been to all of the locations, and the service is always good. But I've been to the Valencia location more than the others. I was craving the green chile today, so I decided Blake's for lunch. The NM style with no tomatoes, and onion rings for the side. I love the onion rings..onion perfectly sliced and golden fried...crunchy and tasty..though lacking salt. No biggie. I bite in the double burger and my first taste in my mouth is tomato. Vile weed! Every time I've asked for no tomatoes there has been some on my burger. Frustrating. Another bite and I get the that steady burn of the green chile. Yum. Is there supposed to be cheese? Maybe I should've asked for cheese...there was none but cheese on a burger with green chile should be a given. I digress. The texture of the bun is a little off...its not soggy but it's definitely not toasted it's just..meh. The meat is plentiful looks good...but seriously lacks flavor. Like it's been pre-made and sitting in a warm dish of consummè waiting to be tossed on the grill. Which would be ok, however, get some sear on it! This would add some much needed flavor. Some seasonings would be great. Salt and pepper? Another review mentioned this burger is on par with Five Guys..? Yeah..no. I've only had Blake's maybe twice and the last time was like 5 years ago, so I barely remembered what the product was like, with the exception of one aspect: the green chiles. Anything with green chiles automatically tops my list. So when my husband and I drove by this location, we had to stop. We each got the Lota burger New Mexico style and they are not kidding, it's a lot of burger. Worth the $8 price point for sure. The wait seemed a bit long, but when we got our burgers it was quickly forgotten. The ingredients are so fresh. Higher quality than most fast food. They do seem pretty heavy handed with the mustard and I personally wouldn't mind some kinda creamy sauce to complement/cut the green chilies, but overall, it was delicious. At Blake's they understand that fast food should be inexpensive quick, and it should taste good. They're actually better than the typical fast food burger, and for less money. Sides are freshly made and affordable; their fries are almost as good as McDonalds, but you get a lot more and pay less. They have a freestyle machine for sodas, sweet and unsweetened iced tea, and milkshakes - to me, the cherry shakes alone would be reason enough to go. Service is invariably friendly, knowledgeable and helpful - one employee actually offered to open doors for me! It's our favorite burger place in the neighborhood and if they stick to these standards, should be here a good, long time. read more

I pulled in thru the driveway on a Tuesday afternoon around 5pm. As my 1st experience here, the wait was way too long unless they grill those hatch chilis on site. Still, there were no other customers in line. As for the food, I tried the Lota burger with green chili and cheese. Their menu is very minimal by the way. The burger was really good! The hatch chiles added to a cheese burger are such a good mix. The flavors sting your mouth nicely. Blake's Lotaburger was completely empty upon arriving, and yet the tables were not all clean and wiped down. Our favorite part was the soda machines that allow you to customize your favorite flavors into your beverage of choice. The burgers and fries were both good. They don't have napkins out and available so I asked for napkins. I was told they would bring them but they never came back. We noticed the outlets also had USB plug in available. The restaurant design was simple and appealing. It didn't take horribly long for us, like it did for others to receive our order, but like I said it was empty upon arrival and only one other customer came while we were eating. I have passed this several times and never stopped but last week my husband said he stopped and really enjoyed it. Today I decided to stop also. The place was very clean. I encountered 2 employees who were both very friendly. I ordered the lotaburger add cheese to go. It was in my hands after just waiting a short time. When I got to my car and unwrapped it I was surprised how large it was. I was happy I didn't get the side items. I love that it had lots of fresh and crisp veggies. If you like a lot of meat they have a double patty option. The bun was chewy and delicious. The overall flavor was wonderful. I will definitely stop by again. read more

I've never been to a Lotaburger before. Before the Speedway location, I'd never even heard of the chain -- despite having been to New Mexico a few times. The great allure is the green chile, which may be a sore point for those of you who do not favor the more spicy eats. It's not sharp like the habanero. Doesn't stab like ghost pepper. Isn't slightly sweet like the bell pepper. The chile has a nice, firm but smooth bite with all the earthiness characteristic of the famed New Mexico green chilie. Being a fan, I was thrilled to see what Blake's had to offer. I needed to try this new location several times before feeling confident about leaving a review. Mostly because I could not reconcile my incongruent experiences. The main takeaway: management needs to do some serious work improving the consistency of service. So far, I've tried the Lotaburger, breakfast burrito, hot dog and the fries. The chain location also sales chili creations, sandwiches (including grilled chicken and pulled pork), Frito pie, onion rings, coffee, shakes and brownies, among other eats and drinks. But the burger is the spot. I find that the ingredients have been fresh, and the burger is well constructed. The breakfast burritos are often inconsistent in size and flavor. Same with the hot dog, which is overpriced and underwhelming. The fries are decent, with a nice sampling of skin still attached. Service is also inconsistent and often stale. The customer service element is missing. Which some might say is inconsequential. It's fast food. It's a chain. It's not homegrown. But it is oddly aloof. Incoherent. Uninterested. Strange. I'll return. But I take the point of many others here who complain about not being overly impressed despite the tremendous amount of hype following this chain. read more

Yesterday we were having a conversation about burger places and some of the ones we like. Of course places like five guys, in n out, Whataburger and I mentioned Blake's Lotaburger. Then someone said, "we have them here in Tucson!" WAIT! What? So of course I had to go. Low and behold... Blake's! With the lotaburger man and everything. The only difference I saw was that they had a lotaburger NM style... if it were in NM it wouldn't say that... "What is NM style?", you ask. Well, most of us in NM just say, "give me a Lota double meat double cheese and green chile." There you go... you're welcome. Now go try it! What is going on at Blakes?? Usually it is fantastic, this time they really missed the mark with communication and product. Stopped in at the drive thru ask for 2 fish sandwiches. Ask for extra tarter, they said they did not have sides of tarter, would I like something else. So I asked for ketchup and Mayo on the side. Got on the road and went to eat my sandwich and all that was on it was ketchup and Mayo. No lettuce no tomato no tarter. Ick. Fish was really greasy to. Our wait was a good 20 mins in drive thru which would be ok if the food was good, but our food wasn't fresh and the fries were so salty I couldn't eat them. This was my first and it will be my last time trying this burger place; let me begin by stating when they asked what size I wanted only said small she said they didn't have small it would be regular no problem give me regular then, I get my order check my receipt and I see they have actually charge me for lunch and gave me a large I would hate to see what the small/regular size french fries would look like. The french fries were mediocre a little soggy. I felt that the burger came with about half an onion, the green Hatch chilies were actually pretty delicious. My strawberry shake was more like strawberry milk very runny and that was even after I asked them to exchange it for another one. Me and a coworker stopped by for lunch and she ordered a cheese burger with no onions and I ordered a hot dog with ketchup and mustard. We get back to the office and her order had onions and no cheese and my order looked like it was just thrown together. My parents went to Blakes Lotaburger on Saturday after making a special trip across town for family. Due to health and gas prices, it has to be something very important to travel across town. This place is near the place they had to go. They got 2 New México style burgers, one within a meal. Found out that they serve mustard on all burgers, which mustard my me physically ill, but That is just a lesson learned. The worst part was uncooked meat Pattie's that could have sent my family members to the hospital. My family literally needed to cook the burger and then found out it was inedible and tossed it. I called Blake's after finding out about the raw meat. My name and number was taken and was told I would get a call back. Never received that call. I called back on Wednesday. Was informed by the manager that there was no message left. I explained the situation where we lived in the other side of town in the beginning of the call and it was a special rare trip over for family. That it is hard to travel for my family. She then offered a replacement even after I explained about the traveling situation. She asked what I wanted to do. I asked for a refund on the sandwiches. Which was ONLY a partial refund, not a full refund. Again, she explains that you have to show up within 24 hours with a receipt after I explained traveling over was special because it is hard on the family to travel over there. We will not be going back. Not only did they pose a very serious health risk, they had no interest in solving the problem by not bothering in putting my initial call in the books, but management showed they had no Interest in listening either when I called back after giving them time to call me back. read more

I'm not one for writing negative reviews, but this is the 5th time I've eaten here and I can't give them anymore chances. Today's meal was the single most unsatisfying meal I've had in a decade. Got the Lotaburger with cheese and chilies with chili cheese fries. The bun was so stale it cracked apart. The chili on the fries was dry... literally dry, like it had been sitting in a pot and hadn't been stirred in hours. The burger was tasteless as if it had been boiled. And salt and pepper and mustard and ketchup didn't help. But it was also pink in the middle. How do you make green chilies totally tasteless?!? I can now honestly say that I have never had a tasty meal at Lotaburger. I can see why the place was nearly empty at 2pm. It was only myself and one other customer in the place. This is my favorite fast-food burger! The Hatch green chilis really amp up the flavor difference from all the others! I've always had good service and consistency at the W Valencia location, not so much at the E Speedway location between Tucson Blvd and Country Club. I've only eaten at the Speedway location twice and each time my order was goofed up. I always order the same thing...the green chili cheeseburger combo meal with fries. The first time they completely left the green chilis off my burger and the second time my burger had a scant amount (about half a teaspoon) of green chilis and cheese, but nothing else...no onion, no lettuce, etc. Both visits to this location were a disappointment while the W Valencia location has been good every time I've visited. read more

I love the Green Chili's here! The dining room is clean but the service was very slow. We went early at 9:45 and we were the only two people in the restaurant. My hubby loves the burgers here and in the morning they have breakfast burritos. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito. This is not on the menu but they offer several options with beans but added hash browns and eggs which I don't like. After 20 minutes of waiting for two burritos I was served an enormous burrito with potatoes and eggs. It took another 10 minutes to get a bean and chess burrito. My other "gripe" is you have to get a key for the restroom. If you want to wash your hands quickly after you eat you have to wait if other customers are ahead of you to get a key for the bathroom. Overall, food is good not great the restaurant was very clean but the service was unacceptably slow especially for "fast food." I won't be running back but will not totally ban Blake's. read more

Nothing wrong with this location. Parking is ample being in front of Walmart. Exterior is new design and I like it. I've been to several Lotaburgers in New Mexico and they all vary as to quality and service. I didn't find this location lacking in any area. This isn't one of those fast food restaurants where the food is sitting on a warmer waiting for a customer. I placed my order, was given a number to put on my table and when food preparation was completed an employee brought my food to me. The burger was fresh and green chile was as good as in any restaurant in NM. French fries were hot and crunchy, just the way I like them. Beware eating here! My husband ate a #5 breakfast burrito with sausage and was sick with food poisoning a few hours after eating it. We know it was this because he hadn't eaten anything for about 16 hours beforehand and felt totally fine before eating the burrito. This made him sick for two days!
