    Truffle Mushroom Pasta
    Catalina G.

The food here is good. I got the truffle pasta mushroom dish. This was delicious. However the service and the vibes were very very off here. Some of the servers had their energy very off. The man who was our server was very nice, he made up for it. However, when we got the bill and the head of our table tipped a certain amount and we were approached by the chef asking why the tip wasn't higher. This was the second time this has happened at this restaurant. I believe the tip is based on service and the way I feel when attending the dinner. I felt uncomfortable asking for the bare minimum, which made me upset. We will unfortunately not be coming back here.

    Delicious happy hour items!!

Celebrated my sister's birthday and had a great time! We sat on the patio which had a heater. Our server was helpful and fun! We ordered from the happy hour menu which was a great value. The mussels were delicious and the sauce was so good especially with their delicious bread! The margherita pizza was crispy and the ravioli was flavorful. The bruschetta was well balanced and the caprese salad had green tomatoes which were so good. Robert, the manager, gave each couple a home made tiramisu to celebrate my sister's birthday which was so very generous. We look forward to going back soon!!

A great experience in every way. Our server Nicole was incredible. We had our granddaughter in her stroller and Nicole made sure everyone was comfortable in the restaurant. The happy hour deals are awesome. We had arancini, fried ravioli and the margarita pizza. All were great. I would love to go back and order all the appetizers. Our entrees were excellent. Fresh pasta cannot be beat. We met Chef Angelo. I was happy to meet him since all my grandparents are Sicilian. The restaurant is comfortable. It was not good enough weather to be outside. You can park free in the parking garage straight ahead after seeing the restaurant on your left.

Blade 1936 is our favorite Italian place in Oceanside, hands down! The food is great! Service is good, pastas are consistent and the pizzas are good, too! Pasta. * I can't seem to get away from ordering the parpadelle funghi. The flavor is on point and consistent after each and every visit. I fall in love with the dish every time! * They also let you customize some traditional simple pasta dishes by letting you choose your pasta noodle & sauce; just ask! * Calamari. This is a good starter, but the portion size has decreased over time.. * Tiramisu. If you like tiramisu, they do it right here! Save room, or order it first! Pizza. * Truffle. This is my favorite! The truffle is just right and the balance or arugula is perfect. If you want a white pizza and love truffle, you won't be disappointed. Overall they have a good mix of red and white pizzas - you really can't go wrong with any of them! Options for kids. It's not on the menu, but ask and they'll tell you what the options are. We asked for fettuccine Alfredo and they were more than accommodating for my kids. Instead of fettuccine noodles they brought out spaghetti noodles with Alfredo sauce ($9.50) My other kiddo had penne pasta with butter noodles ($9.50) and he cleared his plate, too! The portion sizes are just right! Everything they make has been consistent every-time. Happy Hour. 4-6PM everyday. The deals are a steal if you can make it during this time!

Friendly attentive waitress. Great Margarita pizza at Blade 1936 Thin crust, crispy edges, nice chewy deliciousness. Also had the Caprese salad which had very large slices of fresh mozzarella, big pieces of basil & different colored juicy tomatoes. Tasty red wine sealed the deal

I would like to preface this with Blade used to be our go to date night spot on Wednesdays. Unfortunately after tonight's terrible experience we will not be back. First, there was a wait because they had one server on at 4pm despite it being happy hour and date night. There was plenty of open tables but nobody to wait on them, and honestly after our service I can see why they needed to pace the seating. Our server had NO IDEA what she was doing or serving. First she dropped off an incorrect check, then dropped off another incorrect check that was double the price that it should be. I had to go to the bar to point this out. According to our credit card statement we were still charged the $160 - despite being given a credit card statement of $94 to sign. No apology was issued despite the incredibly expensive mistake. No option to speak to a manager was given either. The food tasted good as usual but the service ruined our once favorite Italian spot in Oceanside.

We've been walking by for years and finally decided to make a reservation for dinner. I definitely suggest making a reservation as they get quite busy any night they are open. As soon as we arrived, we were seated and greeted by our server. We quickly put in our orders and we were given our drinks right away. We loved their house cab and I throughly enjoyed the Il Gallo signature cocktail. The cocktail just had a hint of sweetness but it was so refreshing. We received our apps but without the oil and balsamic vinegar that it came with, so we did have to request it from our server. We had to request refills on the oil and balsamic vinegar as well, which we were then given the bottle of each. I absolutely loved their bruschetta and focaccia bread. The bread was fresh and fluffy for both items and the tomatoes in the bruschetta were ripened to perfection and paired so well with the burrata. We were grateful for the apps because our food took just about a hour to get to us from ordering it. Once we did receive our food, it didn't last long as we loved our entrees! The portions were quite large so we did take some home. I loved the scaloppine di pollo di fungi. The mushrooms and garlic just gave so much flavor to the chicken and veggies. So worth it! I'm not sure why my meal didn't come with the garlic mashed potatoes but I didn't want to bother to ask as I knew we would just be there even longer waiting. I loved the vegetables so it all worked out. My husband's pappardelle ai funghi e tartufo with sausage was just a dream. The mixture of cream sauce, mushrooms, and sausage was just divine. I personally couldn't choose which meal was better because in my eyes they were both too good. I honestly don't think you could go wrong with anything on their menu as it all sounds, looks, and smells delicious. We did flag down our server again to put in our dessert order as we knew it would take a while. The lemon blueberry ricotta cheesecake was absolutely delightful. Quite light for a cheesecake and perfectly sweet. The strawberries and strawberry syrup paired well with the cheesecake itself. We waited about another 20 minutes after finishing dessert before we could even ask our server for the check. I'm not sure if they were short staffed on such a busy night, but it did take us a while to get service between everything and we had to flag down our server a lot. Our dinner for two took about two hours, which was a lot longer than we were expecting. Again, we had a great time and our sever was so kind, but definitely seemed he was stretched too thin. We will try to go on a less busy night to see if the timing improves!

The food this time around was okay. We ordered a pizza for happy hour and within 2 minutes we got it and it was "warm ". We shared some octopus and a main dish of tortellini which were good. The biggest thing that made me upset was that I booked the reservation with notes that it was my 33 year anniversary and my cousin 35 years anniversary and they didn't acknowledge it. Very disappointed. It's a very energetic place but wish they would have made a memorable dinner.

    Tiramisu Nah not my taste
    Mayu H.

Good experience and food was good enough but we are a bit disappointed for Margherita pizza and Tiramisu. Their pizza dough was fresh and so good! Truffle pizza was great and so as cheese Ravioli. We sat outside with shade with our dogs. Service wasn't quick and she forgot my drink so I had to remind her... I don't know if we want to go back again next time we visit Oceanside.

Visiting friends in Oceanside, they had previously visited this nice restaurant. I had the penne with sausage and the plate was great! Quite a bit of sausage was just the right touch. My wife had the risotto and loved it. The service was speedy and considering being a week night, the restaurant was pretty busy but staffed appropriately. Nice decor.

Amazing dinner spot. Kid friendly but also date appropriate. Fantastic vibes and service. The menu offerings and full bar covers everything your heart desires. Portions are sizeable. There's even a happy hour menu if you can come in before 6. Loved the short rib tortellini special. The salads are divine. Wood fire pizza was good but on the cheesier side for those wondering. Meatball appetizer is plenty for sharing. Handicap accessible with ramp indoors and also outdoor seating.

Great food and service and a great location with above average ambiance. Has bar service as well. Tasted the gnocchi with chicken added, flavor was great and the gnocchi were light and fluffy. Wood fired brick over turns out some great pizzas too. The serving platter for the pizza was nice looking, but I think that it allowed the crust to steam a little which reduced the crunch factor on the crust. Great tasting though. A bit pricey for the menu items, but rent in that area has to be horrendous, so I get it, the food quality was also high to parallel the cost. Not your run of the mill Italian eatery. Would recommend to anyone.

Cavolfiore Fritto, Prosciutto Burrata, and the Insalata Di Fragole

First time here (last night) and it did not disappoint! The place was packed so you know it had to be a popular spot. We were greeted promptly and given 2 choices on where to sit. We chose to sit outside as it was a bit quieter and we wanted to hear each other during dinner. Our server was so friendly and made great suggestions. We decided to split everything. My favs were the Pappardelle Ai Funghi E Olio Tartufato and the Regina Margherita. Both were 10/10. The crust on the pizza was nice and light/airy and cooked perfectly. The pasta had amazing flavor and was such a unique dish. I typically go for a bolognese but decided to give this a try and it did not disappoint! A must order! Really loved the Insalata Di Fragole. The balance between the crunch from the almonds gave it nice texture and the sweetness from the strawberries + beets were a nice addition. Also, can't go wrong with burrata. I could eat that on anything really! We loved the tiramisu, was nice and light and not overly sweet. Would def order that again! We loved how one of the managers (or owner?) came by and checked in on us and gave us a little backstory on the restaurant. Love that they use Italian flour which will def make me wanna come back again! Thanks for a great experience, can't wait to try more items off your menu!

I'm a big fan of their white pies and anything with a balsamic drizzle, and the margherita is always a safe win. The Caesar salad pairs perfectly, and the garlic knots... honestly addictive. Only downside there is you'll wish you had more--4 doesn't feel like enough for how fast they disappear. The staff is a younger, upbeat crew and always helpful when you interact with them--just a heads up, it can be tough to flag someone down when they're moving around. Best move is to go straight to the counter if you need something. The vibe is lively and modern--definitely more of a "happening" bar/restaurant energy. Plenty of seating, a great outdoor area, and a big firepit that makes it a solid hang spot. Only knock is occasional construction outside lately, but it hasn't stopped me from coming back. Value-wise, their combos are actually really solid and make for a great meal. This is one of those places I go to regularly, and it holds up every time. Best for: pretty much any occasion--just expect it to get loud during peak hours, and show up early if you want to avoid a line out the door. Compared to other artisan pizza spots around here, this one beats most. There are maybe one or two that edge it out slightly, but this is firmly in the top tier. Favorites: White pizza, margherita, balsamic drizzle pies, Caesar salad, and (of course) the garlic knots.

On a previous visit a couple of months ago, I requested medium and my burger was very well-done. It was still good, and I'm not a guy who sends his food back. Tonight I let the person at the register taking my order about last time, and to let the chef know that I would really like the burgers medium this time. Burgers arrived well done again. I mean, if that's store policy like In-N-Out is now, I get it, but let me know that. The truffle fries and regular fries that came with the other burger were fantastic as always. I wish I didn't have to go back to the register to pick up salt packets but that's not a big deal really. I let the young lady at the register know that the burgers were well done, again. . . She apologized and I just told her that it was ok. I'm not making anyone cook me a new burger. Once again, still good. Just not what I asked for. I also ordered a beer and the person at the register gave me the number placard and told me that she would bring my beer out. After seeing it set at the bar where the drinks come out for a few minutes, I just went and picked it up. The young man who brought our food seemed more interested in talking to the female employees than checking on customers, but I was 20 years old once too. We did get there kind of late and left a little after closing time. Everyone was busy checking their phones. . . We'll be back. Pizza is always great. Burgers are usually surprisingly excellent for a Pizza place too. I just wish everyone was a bit more on point.
