Worst food since we visited Disneyland. Stay away!!! Hostess was friendly and lured us in. I've had better food at the kids sporting events. read more

My husband and I were in whistler for a few days for our honeymoon and went to blacks for lunch after he had been on the slopes. We sat upstairs and had a super friendly waitress and bartender, the restaurant was also warm during the winter so that was great. I ordered the potato bacon pizza which was so good! I never had a pizza with potatoes on it but now I wonder why I've never seen one cuz it's so good. Beautiful view of the slopes and also decent pricing. If we were to travel back to whistler (which I hope we do) I would come back to this place. read more

Australians as servers and bar tenders. Lots of snowboarders/skiers in here. Drinks were kind of expensive. $7.50 for a beer. Not many cocktails. Didn't check food menu. Has patio with good view of the snow hill. Some seats had the leather pealing off. Atmosphere is not too dark. Pretty good. read more

This was my first stop in Whistler! Upon entering I immediately noticed that the atmosphere was somewhat subdued and not too crazy. However, I then went upstairs and saw that's where the party's at! Bar was packed, all the tables were taken, and the wait staff was bustling. The Whistler Lager was tapped out (bummer), but they had many other great selections to choose from. Had a couple brews and some delicious chicken wings, and went on my merry way. Cool spot to check out upstairs. read more

Very Pleasant With The Best Wings in Town!!! Blacks pub located near the based of whistler village gondola. The first thing I noticed about blacks was it's well signed and labeled social distancing protocols. Also it's out door patio extension. On entry to Blacks Pub after being welcomed by super friendly staff. I had to give me name and number as another protocol. When walked and seated to my table they explained the covid house rule .. ( stay at your table, no more then 6 people etc etc ) The staff explains to me that if I would like to see the menus I would have to scan to the Qr barcode. Displayed on the table. Shortly after the returned with water and to take my order meanwhile always engaging in warm light friendly convo. Now Down To The Wings!!! I ordered a pound of wings which was reasonably price. The waitress brought over and the portion was bigger then expecting. The wings was fresh hot, crispy and not refired. SEASONING!!! Was so good even though I only had salt n pepper wings other flavors available lol . The wings was coated light flour coated instead of bread crumbs what I prefer but the hint of curry powder in the seasoning that gives you that sweet and savory Ou-Mami taste sensation. Wow !!! Overall a great experience worth writing this review about. read more

Pizza was undercooked and overpriced. Even if cooked properly, it still would've been gross. Great location but will not be returning to this place. There are tons of other options in the area. This is another case where location overshadows quality food. read more

Black's Pub - pizza was gross, undercooked and overpriced ($17). I've had better $3 frozen pizzas. - Pubs Near Me - Whistler, British Columbia

They have a good sized patios with heaters and this was especially great for us since we had my friend's dog with us. We ordered hot chocolate, chicken wings in BBQ and soy sauce and fries. The fries were crispy and generously salted. Yummy! The BBQ chicken wings were smokey and soy sauce with garlic? or honey? was preferred by us over the BBQ ones. The server was quick, attentive and chatty. She came by to refill our glasses and take additional drink orders. We didn't go inside since we couldn't with our dog so I couldn't tell you about the ambience of the restaurant inside but overall, an A-Okay eatery in Whistler. read more

Black's is another good Apres bar. Great sweet potato fries. Between three friends we got two orders once. You can get cheaper beer in Whistler, but being stumbling distance from the Excalibur gondola, you can't beat the view. If you're over 19, and you're not too sore from a good day of riding, go check out the upstairs patio. read more

*Review is for the bar only* Meh is right. On a scale of 1 - 10, this would be a 3 at best, so 2 stars is about right. Place was dead with its so-so selection of beer and not much life going on. Who cares about cheap beer besides punk children that are stocked to be drinking at 19? I want good, locally brewed beer. Not one stout on tap!? It *is* winter in December last I checked. I slammed my beer and left. I went outside and slapped myself to get some life back into me. Yuck. read more

Decent pub food. Burgers, pastas, salads. Shared some aracini, fried creamy risotto balls. Table had burgers, carbonara and shrimp spaghetti. Service was a bit overwhelming, could've toned it down. Ambiance is great for sports watching and being cozy on a cold winters day. read more

We really liked this place. We went in on Sunday night to watch the Fire and Ice show from the bar. We actually made a reservation, but they only take them for downstairs, and the better view is from up, but they told us to just look for something upstairs and let them know, no worries. That was cool. We had already been in for a little Apres the other day, just drinks. The food looked amazing, large portions. We had a couple of appetizers, everything was great. The manager or maybe asst mgr was working and was very talkative and friendly, everything was spot on. We will return next year. read more

Came here for apres recently. Everything was fine up until we asked for the check. 20 minutes go by and our waitress is nowhere to be seen. Our table is being bussed and the hostess is asking to take our extra chairs for another table (we got the idea that they wanted us to leave). We asked the lady bussing our table to track down our bill because we had been waiting for a long time. It was only then that it was explained that their system was down and they could not pull up any bills. After another 10 minutes, I went inside, tracked down our waitress and asked for the bill. She asked what we ordered and calculated our tab manually. We couldn't pay by card because of their system, so we had to run to an ATM just to cover our tab. Other parties had come inside irate as well waiting to settle their tab. All the while, other parties were still being seated and served. It took over 45 minutes just to get the bill after we asked for it. While I realize that a system failure is not planned, there could have been a lot of things that could have been done differently. They should of had a plan in place and somebody should have at least come out to apologize, explain the situation, and offered us a drink on the house or something while they sorted things out. Management was nowhere to be seen and owner never responded to complaint by e-mail. Terrible service here. read more

Pros: - Food was good and nice sized portions. We got two different pizzas and both were great tasting and they didn't skimp on toppings. A good crispy crust. - Beer portions are great, even for the smallest size. Cons: - Staff was VERY slow. Our total time there was 2 hours and we had two pizzas and four drinks. Pizza was cold by the time the second drinks were delivered. - Others who sat down got up and left due to no staff coming by to take their order after 15 minutes. - Mixed drinks were way too small for their price. - The view wasn't great due to untrimmed trees blocking the view of the mountain. For being in a prime location they aren't maximizing it. read more

Typical pub. We were there in a very busy weekend and service wasn't the best. Pretty slow and every time we needed something all the waitresses would say "okay I'll get your waitress" and it would take forever for her to come. Their beers are really good and the atmosphere is relaxed and mellow. Great views and a good place to hang. Come for the beer but don't expect too much more. read more

They had great service and many unique items that actually looked delicious (typically, I'm not a fan of unique when it comes to food). We asked others around us about their meals and they were really enjoying them. They have great gluten free pizza which is what we had. If possible, ask for upstairs seating since the ambiance is much better. read more

Quality chicken burger. Good sweet potato fries. Beer took forever. No napkins, no silverware. Server was friendly.

What can you say about Whistler - good friends and good fun? Who knew Easter weekend would be a winter wonderland in this place. After a long and funfilled day on the slopes, Longhorn was jam packed so we decided to check out Black's... downstairs. Beer was our ultimate goal coming down our last run and we made it!.. unfortunately, the beer didn't make it because they do not carry Guiness downstairs. Upstairs they do - I am not sure why so I ordered Granville Island Honey lager instead. Being super hungry, we all decided to share the nachos with chicken. Service was quick and the nachos came out in a large platter... however, I always believe that a good plate of nachos should have proper cheese and chip layering, which was not seen here. Toppings seem plenty, but then again, there were not that many pieces of chicken. The disk comes with sour cream and salsa, and asking for extra salsa, we were not informed that it was could a whole $3 extra. When the bill came, the nachos totalled to $25, which you can probably find for $15 in a Vancouver pub... pricey yes, and sharing with friends made the tab a lot smaller... however... it can seem like one huge rip off in the end. read more

Went here after spending a day in Whistler Village. From here, we were able to watch a big air competition, and enjoy being among a crowd of people. I was there with a group of four, and we all had a pint of Granville Island Pale ale, which was good. The food was also good. We tried a pepperoni pizza, which was excellent and very flavourful; the lobster ravioli which was just the right size and very delicious; and a plate of yam fries. Serving staff here was friendly and attentive. Enjoyed our experience, and had a great view of the competition! read more

The menu has since changed in the last two years. The veggie burger is now some sort of patty, but it tastes pretty good. I've also had the pizzas and phyllo bean dish which are all quite good. Black's is good value - about the same price as eating on the mountain, but includes table service! It's also a great place for après - lively upstairs and relaxed downstairs - or the patio on a spring day! read more

Came here today with my husband and ordered a Roasted Squash and Chorizo pizza and a Chicken Pot Pie (which came with a salad). 14" pizza was more than enough to feed the both of us. Chicken pot pie had huge chicken chunks in it and it was not too salty. Pizza was unique and delicious as well. Only complaint was the service was a bit slow, my husband had to ask twice for napkins and a refill of his hot water. It didn't seem like they were understaffed so not sure why it also took a while to get our check.Recommend the food but be prepared for slower service. read more

The burgers were delicious! Highly recommend the yam fries with chipotle aoili. Yum! Servers were friendly and attentive.

This was the first bar I went to in Whistler last year. They didn't have a person to ID you at the door. My friends and I got flaming shots where they light shots of 151 in shot glasses and tip them over into beer. Before the bartender tipped them over, he said, "this might go horribly wrong." I wish it did, because that would have been a cool story to tell. Good atmosphere. read more

We had a good lunch a couple of days ago, Sunday. Food was tasty, service was pretty speedy and pleasant, and the ambience was good, not too loud, sufficiently rustic and pub like, and COVID seemed to be taken seriously. My husband and son had burgers and I had a chicken burger. One point off for the pretty basic salad, just greens (lettuce only) and a little bit of dressing; nothing else to make it interesting, but we will be back and I'll just order fries next time. read more

some of the staff were really friendly, while others were kinda cranky. the service was a bit slow, but in their defence, it was a little busy. the layout and look of the restaurant itself was really nice. we sat upstairs and it was lovely. i got a veggie burger and it was pretty good. i also got fries and let me tell you, they were some of the best fries i've ever had. they were thicc, seasoned really nicely and tasted amazing. all in all, if you are looking for a burger, or some amazing fries, you should definitely check this place out. read more

Terrible service. The worst restaurant experience my family has ever had. It took 30 minutes for somebody to ask what we wanted to drink. One person's meal came out 25 minutes after everybody else's meal. After we asked for silverware and napkins on two different occasions, we finally took what was left in a mason jar from a table that just left. Staff and waitresses were clueless. read more

Blew into Whistler in a snowstorm! Checked into the hotel, and then walked the village, looking for a place to grub. Was pretty hungry, so wasn't gonna spend too much time. Black's Pub looked pretty nice & comfy. I read the menu outside the door and was sold. Service was quick and friendly. Sat in the dining room next to the window, so that we could watch the now come down and people watch. There was also a raucous bar upstairs. My wife has a pretty non-adventurous palate, so she had the pizza. I had the braised lamb shank and one of their winter beers. The beer was too sweet. Reminded me of the chocolate cokes I used to get at Farrell's when I was a kid. My next one was their pale ale and it hit the spot. The lamb shank was delicious, but not much too it. Even with the accompanying mashed purple mashed potatoes and sliced carrots. Thank god that my wife has a small stomach to accompany her non-adventurous palate, because I snagged a couple pieces of her pizza! read more

"An absolute embarrassment to Whistler," said another reviewer and I couldn't agree more. Great location and friendly staff but poor service and limited beer selection. The place looked a bit sketchy, dirty and unkept but we were enticed by the patio and location. Four of us ordered burgers that came out over cooked on stale cold buns. No lettuce or tomato, their "special sauce" was a teaspoon of coleslaw and that's all you get. I'm pretty sure the patties are pre-cooked and just sit on the back grill until some sucker places an order. To be fair the french fries and my cocktail met expectations. Clearly, apathy exists throughout the organization from the chef who orders the cheapest low-grade food on the market and doesn't care how it is prepared or presented, to the manager who doesn't care if the place is clean, furnishings are operative, or the staff is attentive. Easily my worst food experience in Whistler to date and I remember being excited about the new red chair. read more

Great servers and bartenders, they were super friendly- sat with me after work to tell me about the local spots in Whistler. ***Review for bar only*** After a day of ziplining in the damp forest, we swung by here to warm up before heading to our condo across the village. Service was efficient, and the place was nice, but not *too* nice/fancy. We sat upstairs, and grabbed a window table. The best part of our brief visit here, though, was my absolutely delicious martini- definitely the best dirty martini I've ever tasted. I chose local Schramm vodka and asked the bartender to make it a bit on the "dirtier" side. It was phenomenal! read more

Kids review: best french fries ever. They put curry salt on them. Burger was awesome (comes with sautéed onions, mayo, tomato and lettuce - order on the side for kids). Fish and chips also a favorite. Parents review: don't bother with the kids menu. It's full of garbage not worthy of consumption. Plus it's expensive. Service was really good. Ambience is better upstairs which we found out after we were already seated downstairs. Limited beer menu downstairs but they can get anything you want from upstairs like a Guiness draft. read more

Let me start off by saying that the lemon pepper wings we had here were just about the best wings we've ever had (and may ever have... Seriously they were that good!). They were perfectly crispy on the outside and very juicy on the inside. Seasoning was perfect! So why the 3 star review? Well the rest of our meal was mediocre to poor. I had the pizza... It was meh. Another in our party had the fish and chips and was really disappointed with it. Another had a curry chicken salad which was also boring and had tons of green peas which was odd and not a tasty combo. Finally another person had the bison ribs... We were really expecting them to be great but they were inexplicably smothered in a super sweet sauce that overpowered them and made them difficult to eat. Had to scrape the sauce off but still it was too sweet to enjoy. Might have given this place 2 stars but those wings were really amazing! read more

I have to give this a 2 star because their menu has changed but not on the website. Pizza was good but burnt on the bottom. The Cosmo was super strong. (Not a bad thing) their muscles were pretty good but the tables were really shabby. The tables on their patio were so wobbly our drinks almost fell over. Plus they put us on a down hill slope. Their kids meal did not look appetizing so for our big group we ordered small & got out. read more

The pros - the server was relatively nice and we got to sit next to the fire. The cons - hardly a pub, more just a super packed over priced restaurant. Granted it's right at the base of Whistler so not a big surprise. Super long waits for food, but the server did warn us up front. Pricey for what it is, but on par for tourist destination expectations. read more

This place is tits!!!! Good drinks and service. Got kicked out of a reserved area but it was karaoke night.

Sat down on the patio just now. It was quite busy so they said they would come right back and clear the table from the previous group. No one came back and we were sitting at a dirty table and ignored for at least 15 minutes. Went over to a different spot to have lunch and drinks with far better service. Would recommend adding more staff on a busy sunny whistler day. read more

Wanted to finish off our Whistler trip with a trip to another restaurant but it was closed so decided to go somewhere close as it was raining quite hard and decided to try Black's. There weren't too many people there and didn't think much of it as it was on a mid-afternoon on a mid-week. I ordered the carbonara and my gf had a classic burger. The pasta really lacked the bacon smokiness of a true carbonara although the pasta was cooked well. The burger wasn't anything special. Lack of service (even though there were only 2 tables), coupled with average food = 2-2.5 stars. Best to come here for those looking to have a quick bite to continue their boarding/skiing right afterwards. read more

I wanted to only rate as one star but have given an extra star because my wife said her meal was okay and another star for the 25% discount we got for waiting a long time for our food. I noticed the slow service remarks after we had sat down but it didn't look all that busy so we thought we would try it. I had the bacon and blue cheese burger and I'm pretty sure my burger patty had been cooked the day before as it was beyond well done. Fries were good and the grapefruit ale was good and that is where my one star comes in. Maybe just my bad luck as another person in our party had the same burger and he said his was fine. My wife had a cheese burger with yam fries and she said her meal was good. Yam fries very good I might add. Not sure why the service was so slow as we waited about 35 minutes for our meal but our server was apologetic and gave us the extra discount. Service was friendly and prompt so no complaints there. I recommend the Mexican Corner which is in the same spot but if you have the time to spend waiting the patio is nice and the beer is cold. read more
