Had breakfast here and got the salmon and polenta breakfast with a side of hollandaise. It was really good! Basically like an eggs benny with crispy polenta instead of toast. Staff was really nice and the food came out really quick, definitely a great place to go for brekky! read more

Black's Pub - Smoked Salmon and polenta breakfast with a side of hollandaise - Pubs Near Me - Whistler, British Columbia

This place is tits!!!! Good drinks and service. Got kicked out of a reserved area but it was karaoke night.

Sat down on the patio just now. It was quite busy so they said they would come right back and clear the table from the previous group. No one came back and we were sitting at a dirty table and ignored for at least 15 minutes. Went over to a different spot to have lunch and drinks with far better service. Would recommend adding more staff on a busy sunny whistler day. read more

Location, location, location. At the foot of the mountain near the lifts...can't beat that. Food is solid too. Had apps, crispy polenta with goat cheese was yummy. Had the sweet potato fries with aioli also yummy. Pizza was best we've had in the area and that says a lot from NJ/NY peeps. Also had a lunch here and had Caesar salad with salmon and it was well-made. Can't beat the location, sit outside near a fire and order a warm beverage. read more

This place was brutal. When I sat in my seat the cushion deflated and the chair nearly broke (I am 5'4, 120lbs). The table rocked from side to side so bad our food was falling on the floor. My husband had a $19 burger and he said, "this tastes like food poisoning". The whole time we were eating we could overhear the manager knocking the restaurant. We heard him say "What this place really needs is an insurance fire" and "they renovated this place and this is the best they could do?", he clearly hated his own restaurant. Our server was friendly and that was the only thing good about it. read more

Brutal. 7 of us headed down to the village form pizza after a full day of mountain biking. The place wasn't busy and the hostess was decent enough to clean the only table close to the bar that wasn't under spotlights for us. Our server started out ok but was slow (really slow) getting water to the table and then didn't come back for a drink order for 10 minutes. We ordered drinks and meals and another 15 minutes before drinks showed up. Dinner. Ha. We ordered 7 pizzas and some dude came out and told us that their ovens couldn't handle 7 pizzas so they would have to serve a few at a time. Seriously? 7 pizzas crippled your kitchen at Whistler? Then the pizzas start showing up and they're wrong. Wrong topping. Random toppings. Back they went into the oblivion of the kitchen. Meanwhile we ant share because no plates. Our server seemed stressed but when I suggested they comp us some drinks it was pretty clear that wast going to happen. She said it was her mistake but that doesn't seem likely. Elapsed time for dinner, 3+ hours. The table of 5 women next to us also leaned over and inquired if we had received any food because they hadn't seen much expect one double order of the wrong pasta. So two massive messed up tables of 13 customers and not once did the manager come out and take responsibility. Oh, and the food was just ok. Amazeballs. Find another place to eat in the village. We've had much better service at Longhorn's. read more

pub food. Good beer selection and prime location in whistler village near the gondola. Sat on the patio and would come back for the patio.

Damn, loved this place. Service was super. The wings were wonderful. Fries very good. And most importantly a good selection of draft beer. :) A bit pricey but so what?? read more

This little gem is at the base of Whistler mountain. Food is great so is staff Great view of mountain as well. read more

2-1/2 stars Ate here today with our 3 kids Host was great, staff friendly, casual. Food was ordinary, not great, not bad. Menu did not mention that chicken burger has horseradish. My wife asked for sans halapeno cheese in the burger so perhaps this aspect might have been mentioned by our waitress also. Kids rated pasta 3/5, pizza 3/5, fish & chips 4/5. Pizza had too much crust, not enough stuff. Ancini appi was 2/5 Tomato soup 4/5 Probably would not return at $18 /dish. Fairly typical of many bar menus. read more

3 stars for the friendly service from the hostess & waitress that helped us. Really wished to like this place but I was not impressed so much by the food. I wouldn't come back only because i don't think the quality is worth how expensive it is. My carbonara was ok. Not the best but not disgusting. The view from the restaurant is great though, and I really appreciated the fire place outside. read more

This is one of the only 'slightly' quieter spots for apres-ski. We ended up sitting by the door which was a mistake, people kept opening the wrong door into our seat and for some reason one of the external double doors was open bringing in a lot of the cold. Eventually we removed a brick and closed it which made things better. One fun thing here is that you can order a round of 4 shots right off the menu to share with friends. read more

I'm so glad I came across this resto. Very delicious & a fresh new perspective. Was nice to try their beet, pear & blue cheese pizza! I also enjoyed the maple bacon wings! It was a fresh flavour & satified my taste buds. Not bad for a one night dinner in Whistler. My bf and I enjoyed our lovely meal! read more

We are there for Labor Day weekend get away and looking for perfect place for dinner. Almost food in the menu is unavailable its just disappointing . read more

Loved the food and service! Have the jambalaya balls as a starter. The steak and ale stew is fabulous. The spiked apple cider is a great drink to have around the fire outside while it's snowing. read more

Pros: Drinks came out fairly fast. The location. Prime spot right at the base of the mountain, and a couple fire pits to warm up. Maybe they take the rest for granted because that's where the pros end. Cons: It was the tail end of lunch (on a Wed, first week of April) so it wasn't busy. The patio was clearing out and there was barely anyone inside. We sat outside and it took a while for a server to greet us. My husband had to ask for someone to check in with us. Our group had a couple younger kids who were pretty hungry so we asked for their appetizer & food to come out first, so as to avoid a hangry meltdown. Still took 30 min--for one order of cheesy bread, a kids grilled cheese, and one order of kids chicken fingers. Phew--the kids made it! Took another 15 min for the rest of our orders--2 gross pizzas and a chowder (the person who had the chowder said it was pretty good). My gluten free (yes, it's legit GF dietary restriction--no fads here) pizza was gross but I was so hungry, a little coagulated cheese wasn't stopping me. However, after my second slice, when I bit into the 3rd slice, I found a piece of clear plastic wrapping baked into the cheese. Hard pass on anything else after that. They kindly removed my pizza from the bill, but definitely will not be going back there. Overall it's overpriced, and very underwhelming. It wasn't peak season either, so perhaps the staff wasn't their best... read more

The menu offers a good variety and we had a family of 6 who all wanted something different. The food unfortunately didn't wow us. It was fine. Certainly not bad. But not great. Atmosphere is nice and we were looking for indoor seating on a cold snowy afternoon so that was spot on. read more

This is a great stopping place for beer at the end of the ski day. Outdoor seating with fire helps! I'm not much of a beer fan but loved their dark logger. This week we tried their pizza and will give it an average rating. OK crust, but no real flavor there. That's the only food we've gotten there. Wouldn't get it again. read more

Great live music, great drinks, and great ambiance! I highly recommend this place as a tourist from USA.

I would not recommend wasting your time on this restaurant. The whole experience for our family was terrible. First of all, it took a long time to get waited on. Throughout the dinner, she wasn't attentive at all. We ordered the fish & chips and pepperoni pizza. There was hardly any cod inside inside the overdone batter. The fries were mediocre and the tarter was one of the worst I have ever eaten. The pizza was tasteless and we had to add salt just to give it flavor. I can't believe our last dinner in Whistler was such an awful experience. read more

Very dirty restaurant and considering this time that is not a good thing! Staff do not wear masks and get way to close to the tables, basically talking right over huge food. We won't be back or recommend. read more

Atmosphere is not great, so many better options in whistler. But biggest issue is the lack of service. I just hate sitting there for 10 min + and nobody talks to you. read more

Where to start? Wanted to sit a table on the patio and was told the section was closed. Ok. So we asked about a table on the other side and she hesitated like that was unavailable too but the servers would have to walk past it anyways. You could see she didn't want us to sit there but I guess didn't want to tell us no twice? We had to move anyways as the music was so loud. Sloooooowww service! Took forever to get 2 pints. My partner asked for his fries to be well done with his fish and chips. The fish came out almost burnt and the fries were flaccid. Our cutlery came out after our food and the guy certainly took his time getting it to us. We sent the fish and chips back to have the fries cooked properly. And the guy gave us some attitude as he took it away. They were just dumped in the fryer again to cook while the fish sat, probably under a heat lamp, instead of, oh I don't know, maybe making the whole dish fresh and properly? I enjoyed my pizza but an extra 95cent charge for 6 small pieces of jalapeño was ridiculous. We tried to order a drink from the guy who eventually brought our cutlery and he said, pretty snippy, that he'd send our waitress over. The food came out, brought by the hostess. After voicing our displeasure about how long we have had to wait for everything, we got the lame excuse that they're busy. It wasn't busy. It was a Monday afternoon at 2:30. There were maybe 5 other tables? 2 servers and judging by how long it took to get our drinks I'm guessing one bartender. There was no sense of urgency. We watched 2 tables get up and leave because they were left waiting so long. There are too many other places to go, don't waste your time or money. One star for the decent pizza, one star for the nice view. read more

up top on the second story and a little tucked away from the crowds... the beer is great and the service is equally charming and considerate. i would return here for more chocolate cake and more friendly service any day of the week!! we closed it down at about 11pm Saturday night and the busboy was so nice he brought us a little candle to our table because we were the last ones on the patio and we were snuggling together to stay warm. the only reason it's not 5 stars is because the heaters were not working on a cold weekend night. i would have checked those before opening if i was GM here. BUT THE SERVICE IS WONDERFUL!! read more

Food was surprisingly good and the price was fair for the location and eat-in service, but the price was a bit on the higher side. I had the crab corn chowder and seafood spaghetti which were done perfectly. Service was very good. read more

Perfect spot for sipping hot chocolate from the balcony while watching the skiiers take the slopes! You get a bird's eye view and the cold isn't that bad since they have heated lamps around the balcony. There's also a ground-level patio, but the balcony on the upper floor has a better view :) read more

Got back today to New York from a trip to Whistler, with my leftover pizza in tow (because the thought of leaving it behind was unacceptable) and just had to write a review. This place was amazing, my family came twice in a 5 day trip. The service was wonderful, everyone was beyond nice, and the food was delicious. A great environment as well with the music not being too loud for apres but still having a fun lively vibe. Will definitely be back next time I'm back in town. read more

Service was slow even though they were not busy but the 4 servers handling 10 tables were too busy gabbing to take orders or check if you needed anything. I ordered a salad a burger joint so I guess my expectations were probably too high. I got the crispy pork salad. The pork was over cooked and the salad was overdressed. I was hungry (still am) and still couldn't manage to get more than a 1/3 of they was through it. I'm sure that this crap isn't what the chef had in mind when he created this dish. I think the problem was probably in the execution. The rose and people watching were spot on though. I would not recommend this place. read more

Delicious Winter Ale on tap from Granville Island and yummy fries! Though the pub was quite packed, we managed to get a table and watch the women's moguls and Jenn Heil get silver. The biggest downfall was food because we were there for a long time and when we finally decided we wanted food, they only had their fancy (read: pricey) dinner menu available and we just wanted pub fare. :( So we left. read more

This is a big bar/restaurant with a two story patio right next to the Blackcomb Gondola. I was given coupons for free drinks by the Sundial Hotel where I was staying as they are in the same building. I came after a long day and had a Granville Winter Ale which was absolutely delicious!! Service was pretty good. The bar is extremely crowded, even on a Thursday. The menu looked pretty expensive so I didn't end up eating anything, but it's a decent place to stop by at the end of your day on the mountains. They did have a good beer selection but I'm not sure how much it was - probably $$$$. read more

Came here for lunch and it was completely mediocre. There wasn't a lot to pick from. I had the portabello mushroom "burger", my dad had the blue cheese and bacon burger and my brother had the pork goulash with perogi. My burger was A-Ok and the fries were average. Prices are about what you would expect in Whistler, but less pricy than the fancy joints. The service is nice enough. read more

This place has an incredible location. The food is OK but not great. Service is fine, but nothing special. It's too bad because based on location this could be the best deck in Whistler. read more

I wasn't expecting much here, but Black's managed to be a great option for late-night dining in the village. The Bleu Cheese burger was among the best burgers I've ever had, and the fries were perfect. A solid selection of Canadian beers and fun cocktails mixed with good service and a fun atmosphere. It has the added bonus of overlooking the village and slopes. Definitely a good option of you want something hearty and reasonably priced. read more

Incredibly slow service? Check. Weak drinks? Check. Shabby appearance? Check. Now I understand why the bar next door was packed while this was empty. Only saving feature is the location next to the gondola. read more

This is a great spot if you want a view of the slopes and ski area. I relaxed with a few beers while my husband and brother skied for a couple more hours. Jess was our server this afternoon for a huge group of Earl's whistler staff and she did an absolute wonderful job!!! Thank you Jess. read more

Service here was superb. It was cold and raining outside and Longhorn was full of college kids from college week, so we went across to Blacks Pub instead... Big surprisingly they were completely packed and was about to be turned away by the man at the door. Then suddenly he goes " Oh wait! You two are the luckiest two people out there" apparently another couple didnt show up for their reservations so he gave the table to us instead... After turning away more people he personally comeback a few times to make sure we were happy and satisfied. The food was good And happy atmosphere :D read more
