    Fish and chips
    Rob M.

I went back to this restaurant for the first time in 18.5 years to see why I went twice on that trip. I was not disappointed. Great views from the patio of Whistler mountain. The fish and chips were delicious. Moist fish with the perfect amount of breading that remained crisp without being too thick. Doused with white vinegar (yes--they have it!!)--it was awesome. So was the slaw that was acidic and a great compliment to the dish. Highly recommend.

What is not to love about Dubh Linn Gate?? First off, the location is prime, right at the base of the lifts. Second off - the food is delicious! What better spot to sit for a hot meal after a day on the mountain? And lastly - the vibe. Friendly staff and tentative staff to make sure you have all you need. Last time we were in, we had the Parmesan chicken bites which were some of the best I've had - flavorful with a crispy outside and a tender inside - and the grilled cheese - with the best bread I've ever had for a cheesy sandwich. Even my picker eaters cleared their plates! The time before, my friend and I posted up outside by the fire while our husbands hit the slopes. They didn't seem to mind and we enjoyed the quality time, drinks, and view. If you're looking for something slightly different than the usual while in Whistler, I can't recommend this place enough.

One of my favourite bars to go to when I am in Whistler because the crowd here is always great! They have a lot of indoor seating as well as a nice patio which you can also enjoy in the winter because they have this huge firepit going. Ordering from the bar can sometimes take a while but that's expected with any busy bar! The best part about this place is definitely the live music, so if you want to have a couple drinks, dance and listen to live music without having to pay a cover fee this is definitely the place to be!

We came for drinks only. They were pretty busy. We did not stay for the live band. We were barhopping.. but they made a really good espresso martini. I think I had like nitro in it. So good I could have had two . I definitely recommend it. It seems like a fun place . Wide range of ages there . I didn't feel old ! lol

Location: conveniently located in Whistler Village, close to the Gondola. It's an easy walk if you are staying in or near the Village. Reservations: we didn't need one since we were there on a Wednesday night in the shoulder season Service: friendly and attentive Ambiance: this place truly felt like we were transported back to a Pub in Ireland! It was lively, warm, with a lot of unique and cute decor What we ordered: Guinness (obviously) Old Fashioned- this was fine for a classic cocktail FOOD: Pretzel sticks with beer cheese and mustard- these were delicious, hot, perfectly salted. The beer cheese was packed with flavor and came out piping hot. Definitely recommend! Bangers and Mash-- great execution of a classic Irish dish, generous portion and potatoes had a nice texture. Fish sandwich-- this was incredible and the star of my night. Fluffy bun with housemade tartar sauce, freshly fried fish which wasn't overly greasy. The perfect ratio of toppings to bread to fish (which is surprisingly hard to come by). Side of fries which they brought out fresh, and I asked for a side of ranch which was housemade and totally delicious! Overall this place had a great vibe and food, highly recommend!

    Chicken Caesar salad

After a day on the mountain, something about this place just hits the spot. Ordered a chili and a salad. I had full intentions of a very light meal. These guys loaded me up. The largest salad I've ever seen paired with the largest bowl of chili I've ever seen. Atmosphere was loud and busy with all the people packed in here.

Nice patio, great service, and tasty food. Dropped by on a weekday for lunch and the sun was shining. It was nice to get in a patio meal before leaving Whistler. Our server was friendly and attentive. Peak burger- upgraded to rosemary fries and it was delicious, the dipping sauce went perfectly with it. The burger was a good size and I liked the pickled onions. It did taste a little bit dry, but still a solid burger. Caesar salad- this was a huge portion. It came with plenty of cheese, bacon bits and croutons. I also liked that they didn't overdress the salad with dressing. Sticky toffee pudding- perfect way to end the meal. It was warm, salty, caramelly and went well with the ice cream and whipped cream. Overall, it was a good meal and I'd return again when I'm in whistler!

Seating outside in the summer was cool, under a relative shade, and seating was fast, and courteous. We were served drinks very quickly after ordering by a very friendly and attentive server, who was sure to check in and provided a friendly and upbeat attitude. I ordered the bangers and mash and a lemonade. The lemonade was sour and sweet and went down nicely on a hot day. Not too much sugar not too much acidity, it was very good, albeit standard. You really can't go wrong! The bangers and mash were savoury, with well seasoned gravy, creamy potatoes, and snappy peas. The crispy onions on top? They just took the meal to another level. A perfect addition to the menu. Not overly flavourful, but tasty food, at a relatively good price, with efficient and attentive service in a comfortable atmosphere and casual setting. Highly recommended- a staple of my trips to Whistler :)

Super friendly staff, great outdoor patio. If you have a dog, this is the only pub in the area that allows dogs. Food was decent. They have live music some nights. Great place!

Well, this place has a good vibe. Lots of people and live music. Lots of traditional Irish offerings on the menu. I sat at the bar but service was only ok. I had to ask just to get a napkin! The Guinness pie didn't taste like Guinness was even part of the recipe, although the portions were good. I'd give it 3.5 stars, it is right off the lifts and an easy stop after a day on the snow.

Every time we're in the area we stop in a least twice - once as a family and again just for date night with my husband. I'm blown away at the food and drink prices (you can't beat them) . The food is pretty darn good and the drinks are the best. We came in for lunch and I ordered the Warehouse Mac and cheese which was a perfect conviction of cheeses and Roasted Red Pepper Alfredo Sauce on Cavatappi Noodles, and it was just spicy and flavorful enough. We also ordered the sun-dried tomato pesto penne and my son had the crispy chicken Caesar wrap - all were equally as delicious. Returning for drinks, i had a couple of the Sour Keys - (Smirnoff Raspberry, Peach Schnapps, Lemon, Sprite and Sour Key Candy) and oh man - they were dangerously good! Both visits the staff was very friendly and attentive, we never had to wait long, and the bar tender was on top of making sure we were always hydrated. Love this spot and will happily return again.

I also tried the ahi tuna bowl and loved it. It had such a great balance of flavors and textures -- fresh ahi tuna, watermelon radish(love how unique this addition was!), carrots, pickled ginger, and seaweed salad. The mix of vegetables with the tuna made it feel light but still filling. Definitely something I'd order again. We ordered a side of poutine and it did not disappoint. The fries, gravy, and cheese curds were all cooked well and blended together perfectly. They also had a great deal on pitchers of beer, which is always a win. I ordered a Shirley Temple -- it tasted more like orange juice and grenadine than the classic version, but it was still good. Service was just okay. The bartender took a while to come over and take my order at the bar, but once we were helped, everything moved smoothly. One of the highlights was the outdoor patio seating -- such a great spot to sit and watch the Fire & Ice show. Overall, solid food, good vibes, and a fun place to hang out!

This place has always felt like one of those "special occasion only" restaurants that are usually out of reach. The special menu was such a steal and so wonderful!!! Araxi did not disappoint, though I'm disappointed in myself for missing their apres deal with a discounted fondue using cave aged gruyere! Definitely reserve ahead of time during peak season. They start you with fresh herbed ciabatta and sourdough with olive oil and butter, and both breads were great but especially so for our hungry kids. They had the most perfectly sharpened quality colored pencils and a coloring/activity sheet for the kids, which was much appreciated! Drinks: - The Cure: talisker 10, pineapple, mezcal float - Fig Jam: fig infused mezcal, apple cider, fig jam, spices - great to start They also had a good wine list, and they even had some local wines by the half bottle, which was a nice option, so we got a local Pinot. Food: - Oysters: island tide and kusshi, served with traditional mignonette and horseradish - Ricotta gnocchi: with wild mushrooms, cheesy lemon fonduta, crispy sage - a smaller portion but good for sharing as an appetizer - Pacific crab and matane shrimp cake: no fillers, perfectly seared, with a great local pear and avocado salsa verde - Seared scallops: perfectly seated, with local sunchokes, crispy prosciutto, grilled bok choy, xharred pepper romesco - Ora king salmon: similar to the kids' one but dressed up, with roasted beats, beet and ginger salsa, goat cheese arancini - House made bucatini: mentaiko style with spicy cod roe, humobldt squid, breadcrumbs. This had a nice kick, and the pasta texture was great - Kids' fish: seared salmon with risotto and bok choy - a generous portion of perfectly seared salmon! Dessert: - Valrhona chocolate fondant: warm gooey chocolate cake with tahitian vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate crisps Service was great and very kid friendly (including copper mule cups for their water!). We ordered a lot of food for 2 adults and 2 young kids, but everything was so great - every item was a hit. There's a reason why we keep coming back to Araxi!
