Spent one night in Whistler and was in search for dinner place. Two other places I stopped earlier had at least 40 minuets wait... this place was available right away... They offer free WiFi. Helpful for foreign visitors with limited date plan. Service was good, server was friendly although I couldn't find him for a while but eventually came back to check on us. I heard Hawaiian pizza was invented in Canada originally and since I was in Canada, I thought I would try... Pizza dough they make here was just average. It wasn't bad at all. Certainly good but I had really good pizza somewhere else. Overall I was able to eat without any wait. read more

Short ribs are one of my favorite dishes. I get them whenever they are on the menu. Today, I had Braised Short Rib - Braised bone-in short rib, mashed potato, mushrooms, broccolini and house made gravy at Black's Club. Hands down the best I have ever had. Part was the quality of the meat, part was that it was cooked to perfection - probably slow-cooked - with the meat falling off the bone, and finally, the gravy is fabulous. Thank you. read more

Need a place for lunch or dinner after being on the slopes all day? Well Black's Pub and Restaurant is your go to place! Located at the base of whistler mountain across from the gondola, Black's provides good food and drinks. There are multiple different seating options. Outdoor seating gives you the perfect view of the slopes and everyone making their way down the mountain. There are usually people with dogs out there as well. Then there is indoor seating upstairs and downstairs. Downstairs is a little chilly since that's the entrance into the restaurant. The cold air is constantly coming in. Upstairs can be a little busy since there is a full bar up there. More high stool seating upstairs and regular dining seats downstairs. We went there for lunch a couple times. Their classic burger is really good, made with prime beef and tastes juicy. It has a lot of flavor and you can add on additional toppings like bacon and mushrooms. Their basic classic burger comes with slaw. I also tried their grilled cheese, which came with a tomato and basil soup. Really good and a must try! The bread is nice and thick like Texas toast. Their appetizers are great, especially the chicken wings and calamari. The service is fast. You don't wait long to get your food. They are also quick at taking your orders and getting you what you need. When it is time to pay they bring the credit card machine right to you and you just scan your card. Really convenient. Overall a must try place when you are in whistler village! read more

You will find that there are a lot of choices of where you can eat as you arrive at Whistler. Consider other options. After getting our pizza I imagined that a surprise trip to the kitchen would reveal stacks of Totino's Pizza boxes. The beer selection is not as creative or as long as your neighborhood 7-11. When naming a restaurant if the choice is made to add the word "Pub" to describe the establishment I feel it creates a need to focus on beer selections. The highest ABV beer here is a 6.7 and the choices are not as good as what you would expect at your corner dive bar. In your search for great food in this amazing city keep looking. On a happy note our server was good and the view from the upper deck was above average. read more

The Margherita pizza was just a cheese pizza. Don't fall for the Margherita label. The chicken sandwiches were also just alright and some ingredients didn't work together. With so many other restaurant options around, this was fairly disappointing. Still, it's close to the lift which works to its advantage. read more

We got seated right away. We were in a corner. We waited 15 minutes and then we walked out. I watched the server lady check tables 3 times. Didn't even bat an eye at us. As we walked out there was another couple waiting to get welcomed in. I told them what just happened to us and they walked away with us. Black's Pub lost money from two couples that night. We spent a hundred bucks up the walkway at Longhorn Saloon instead. read more

My sister and I were at Black's Pub Wednesday evening. It is apparently jam night. There were two fellas singing and playing guitars. People from the audience were joining in on drums, guitars, singing, etc. It was a fun atmosphere. We were hungry. I ordered jumbo honey garlic wings (they were good but not jumbo) . Bison ribs, spiced rum, sticky date pudding, & chocolate torte were our favorites! Service was good -- cordial host and attentive server. Salmon and burger (with bacon and aged cheddar) was ok, but nothing to rave about. So this is a busy place... if you dont have a lot time, try to get your food some where else. When I came there, no people to let us know if you need to choose a seat or they you help you. Then it took 20minutes for the waitress came to us. The food took so long and the drink too. I ordered a mash potatoes and sausages and i drank the hot wine. They were good. Even if the people left, then it was not busy anymore. So i tried to find the waitress and I needed to go to the bar to ask for my bill. All the time when you need something, you should find the servers and talk to them. I wished the things were working better. The food there it was not cheap, the meal was good but it didn't worth. So... maybe another place will you have more good time :) So guys, i hope when you come here, you will have a good time... read more

Out of most food items! The four of us had lunch on a quiet Monday. The pub ran out of most food items, no pasta at all, Any type! No wings! No beef! We barely found food we can ordered. Pizza was good and fresh. Risotto ball was dry and tasteless. Calamari was average (we would prefer Earls). Service was not good either. There were only 2 tables; however, the 3 waitresses were busy chatting with each other. read more

First time here, friends vouched for this place pretty hard and I'm glad I went! Had the spicy salami and Asiago pizza and the bacon potato pizza. 10/10 would get again. Really tasty! Light crust, I think they do it in a fire stove? Good views on the patio, good service, good food. read more

Very accessible since it's right next to the lifts but nothing special compared to the other pubs around the village. We stopped in for beers and hot toddys. Service was prompt and friendly. There is a lovely patio, but be warned, you have to have a group of at least 4 to sit near any of the fireplaces. read more

Meh. Go to Dubh Linn next door, pretty much better in every regard. Tried out this place out, when we first arrived the place was mostly empty and they were playing club music. After a few minutes they cranked it so loud we couldn't hear the server, thankfully they changed it and lowered the volume. I had a pale ale and the Bacon Mac & Cheese, sadly both were kind of bland, not much flavour. Server was ok, seemed to not want to be there. When paying the bill, the card reader failed twice, and our server yelled to the back "FOUND THE BROKEN ONE!" She walked away without saying anything and came back a minute later with a working machine. Fairly disappointing experience overall... maybe it's a good place to drink at night when Dubh Linn is full? Not really a good sit-down lunch Restraunt tho. read more

After travelling all day... this place ended up being a perfect place that evening to wind down with some cold brews, good tasty food, helpful and attentive service(our server looked like Juliette Lewis with platinum blonde hair) she was sweet and rad at the same time... Fresh ingredients, good service... location perfect... at the base of the mountain.... Ate downstairs in the dining area, along the large glass windows, overlooking the mountain and outside fire pits... This is the place I fell in love with Steam Works YVR ISA (Canadian Craft Beer) Perfect pizza... fresh ingredients and flavorful, tasty hamburgers, dipping sauces... flavor flavor Fireplace inside.... a relaxed posh vibe.... Blacks Pub is most notable for a fantastic location in Whistler Village with great views of the mountainside. On our day, there was a free Whistler Village show of snowboarders and skiers doing aerial jumps and Black's definitely had one of the best views. Originally seating outside, it seemed like a ghost town due to the rain and also the fact that the hostess only intermittently came by to promise wait staff that never came. Only when we went inside did we see the true story. Blacks is a two story restaurant and both the inside first and second floor were completely packed and the wait staff were busily serving and busing all the tables inside. We were able to squeeze into a table on the second floor with a partial view and the service was more than friendly and adequate given the busy atmosphere. Food is standard pub fare with generous portions of pasta, burgers, and fried items served along a selection of libations. I enjoyed my pub burger and the pasta was solid too. Overall, a good choice for the mountain side views, albeit very crowded and loud due to the popularity. Blacks accepts credit cards, including American Express. read more

Hidden gem in Whistler. Wood oven pizza is one of the best I have tried and I highly recommend it. Service was super friendly, checking in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy with the food. An absolute embarrassment to whistler. We went with our family of for because it obviously has a great location.. only to find food took over an hour and they messed up the food order and still charged us full price. I think there are so many options in whistler, I would not recommend going here. No heated patios, overpriced, and when our food finally did arrive it was hilarious the lack of pepperoni on our pizza. Anyway, we won't be going back.... and we are regulars to whistler. read more

Loved this place! I had their soup and salad! I'm really beginning to the young adults run this town! They run the restaurants here- and are really good at it!!! Food was delicious and the beer was cold! read more

Pretty standard pub fare. Se items better than others. Had I not gotten one of the better items I would've gone with 2 star rating, probably. -Signature burger: my order, very good. The table next to us had 4 grown men and they all ordered this same dish. -Bison ribs: probably the most expensive lunch item on the menu and totally not worth it. The meat had no flavor. -Chicken and apple salad: this was okay -Daiquiri: this just tasted "off" to me. Not well-blended, was really runny and not sweet enough for my liking. I wouldn't recommend this. read more

Black's was the closest restaurant to the lift that didn't have long wait for lunch. It was a sunny day so we decided to sit outside but the overhead heaters were a little too warm. I ordered a couple of the daily specials. Kangaroo Sliders and Chestnut Ale. The ale was good but the sliders were a little disappointing. The meat patties just didn't have any flavor. All I tasted were the pickled beets and horseradish mayo. Service was good, we'll probably be back to try some other menu items. read more

Black's is one of my most favorite places in Whistler thanks to their accommodating staff, inexpensive bottles of wine, and unbelievable view of the skiers coming down at the bottom of Whistler Mountain. Their Balcony is one of my favorite spots here -we spent a lovely afternoon in the sun (see photos) watching the skiers, drinking wine and eating lunch. The staff was lovely and happy to allow us to sit there for a couple of hours. Our waitress was terrific, appropriately chatty and filing us in on stupid Whister details we asked about. But she also made sure we had plenty of wine (bottles are the way to go BTW, well priced compared to glasses). Food is adequate - normal pub food kind of stuff. Perfectly good but nothing special. Although the yam fries with chipotle aioli were really yummy. The view on the other hand is awesome. Really loved hanging our here like a couple of ski bums (well, middle aged ski bums who don't actually ski) taking in the sun and the sights from the balcony. It quite honestly does not get better than that. One of my favorite Whistler experiences. read more

Very good spot! We rolled in for lunch while riding Whistler/Blackcomb. The place wasn't super crowded which was actually nice. We sat down and ordered some burgers and sandwiches. Our waitress was excellent. She was very attentive and speedy with refilling our beers. I got the mushroom cheeseburger with fries. Simple order but delicious just the same. My burger came out cooked to my liking and the fries were fresh. That's all I ask for lol Give them a try! read more

View was great. Would only recommend for drinks and view, is the best thing I have to say about this place. Food was smaller portions for high price. We had one burger, one chicken sandwich, Mac n cheese, 3 tap waters and 1 9oz wine. Which equaled 91 CAD before tip. Service was not attentive. Feels like most of Whistler has very poor table service. Pump you in, pump you out kind of vibe. Always awkward when they stand over you with debit card machine while you tip. Sticking to my guns, I usually go min 20% tip for good service. I haven't given beyond 12% tip here and felt totally fine about it. read more

I've eaten here on many occasions. I've been here in the past for many work parties featuring mostly pizza and beer, and more recently in November I was here with some friends after snowboarding. I ordered a Mushroom Polenta dish which was something new to me as I had never eaten or heard of Polenta before, but it sounded interesting and it interested me more than the standard burger and fries that every restaurant sells. I really enjoyed the Mushroom Polenta, it wasn't a hearty meal but it was perfect for a post snowboarding day. The sauce, mushrooms ontop of the polenta was a good mix. I don't know if it's still on the menu but I would order it again. Today I checked in for breakfast before work. I arrived about 20 minutes after they opened. It wasn't very busy yet, but by the time my bill came it was starting to fill up. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Polenta (seeing a trend?). I was kinda looking for some sort of Benny and I prefer fish over meat so this dish stood out to me. The serving size wasn't huge but it was exactly what I was looking for. Most Benny dishes come with hash browns which I rarely eat so It was nice to see with this dish that I wasn't wasting any food. The Benny was plated well, it had a nice look to it when it arrived at my table. It was properly poached, nice runny yolk. The texture of the polenta light and easy to cut and pair it with the egg and spinach on my fork. The dish had a nice spice to it, very subtle but enough for some good taste and it worked well with the dish. It wasn't too busy in the restaurant when I arrived, so service was quick and courteous. By the time I was finished the place was filling up with people grabbing a bite before the mountain open's. So it did take a bit longer to get my bill that I would have preferred, but I wasn't in a hurry to leave so it wasn't an issue. Overall I'll definitely go back again to try some other breakfast dishes, or to enjoy a pint with some friends. read more

Good food, okay drinks and a wonderful staff. Poor choice in representation. They choose to hire a self proclaimed "king" of karaoke, who is no more than a LARGE joke. Not only did his crude interpretation of Makin' Whoopee send poor Ella Fitzgerald into an endless deathroll in her grave. But, he will force a customer out of the door because they don't fit into his karakoe heirarchy. He hosts a mic as well as he handles it, like a DICK. read more

I gave this place two shots because the patio was so amazing. The first was for breakfast and I had to use a steak knife to cut through my pancakes. Here's the deal, I didn't go to Whistler to eat. I went to shred. So i don't expect any of these so called "restaurants" to be "good". It's all sub-par food dressed up on a tourist stage. The goods are on the mountain! What I'm giving Blacks 5 stars for is a cool place to chill after shredding brown pow all day. Sure, i had some pizza and beer, but there i am, just after sunset on the upstairs patio staring up at mountain bike Mecca when SOJA comes on the radio. I'm in heaven. read more

I only had a drink here as I waited for my table at another restaurant, but I'd say it was pretty decent overall. I just had a Whistler Mountain Lager and my friends had a couple of other drinks. Just want to thank this place for everything they did. We came to them day before New Years to try to plan a special proposal to my girlfreind. It was recommended to us by our Hotel. When we walked in we were greeted right away and asked if we could be helped by one of the lovely waitress. We asked to speak to the main guy in charge. Thats when we we met Atila. Not sure if i spelled that right. So my appologies if I didnt. He is the reason my now Fianće had the most special night of her life. Atila welcomed us with open arms when our original plan did not seem to work in our favor. He suggested the time to propose. Reserved us the best table in the house. Had all staff on deck aware of the special event that was going to take place. Personally went and made sure he got us a bottle of Dom Perignon. After the ball dropped and fireworks went off. He had the band stop the music and make announcement. When i dropped down to one knee. I had the entire place undivided attention. When i popped the question, my now Fianće could not believe what just happened. She was so surprised. Couldnt believe how Blacks pub made this happen. I am forevor grateful in you making this moment so memorable. Atila and all staff...thank you, thank you, thank you. We will be back and will make sure to recommend Blacks Pub in Whistler Canada to all our freinds and Family. read more

Ribs were inedible, the only thing that saved the meal was the Mac and cheese. Pizza was mediocre at best. Service was decent.

Good burger, was able to get a gluten free bun. Local beers on tap. Nice patio to people watch. Tons of tvs to watch sports.

Terrible service. Doesn't matter how busy they are as it was dead quiet and my table along with two other tables' orders weren't taken after waving at the hostess, waiters, and waitresses. Food is not good and incredibly overpriced for the quality you get. You're better off going to Earls or Longhorn. read more
