Funnily enough, I always thought this place was a little too high class for a burger joint. I was totally wrong, the atmosphere is great, lively yet not hectic. Plenty of TVs for sports, I went at peak time for dinner and while there wasn't an empty seat in the place I didn't feel too crowded. I'm giving 3 stars because while the food was good, it wasn't the best burger in town. The fries were excellent and try multiple kinds when you go. They were the highlight. I got the bleu cheese burger, nothing wrong with it just was not worth the price when compared to other burgers in town. Overpriced and uncooperative sandwich Shop. Sandwiches have fancy names and recipes but are basically tasteless. I ordered a chicken sandwich without Prosciutto but they told me that I had to give 24 hour notice. However, when I got the sandwich, I just opened it and took off the prosciutto. I guess the chef was trying to impress that it is a secret recipe. The spreads on sandwiches eaten by friends who had accompanied were sloppy and bland. To reiterate, no special taste. House specialty Milk Shakes with Alcohol. No thank you, I'll pass. Unfortunately I have to give it a star to post the review. I HIGHLY recommend "The Colin," which might be the best grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had that wasn't my mother's. My husband commented that the bun on his burger was a little too large in proportion to his burger's size, but loved the burger toppings. I didn't care for the smoked fries, but that flavor just isn't my cup of tea. The boozy milkshakes were fun, plus I LOVE how they use local custard by the one and only Andy's Frozen Custard. I am a vegetarian and can appreciate that my carnivore husband and myself can both enjoy eating out at the same place! Very pleasantly surprised to find a burger joint with vegetarian options that don't just involve a salad selection! I also appreciate the easy-to-read and compact menu as well. The day we went, the staff seemed too few for the crowd present. Our waitress did a fine job given that she was over-sat with tables. I enjoy the decor, but the bistro-style tables & chairs have got to be some of the most uncomfortable chairs I've experienced at a restaurant. We've been twice and have not been disappointed. The food's great, the decor is attractive and its a reasonable price point for the area. They make a killer burger and fries. My only complaint is a small one and speaks volumes for the place...its been packed with people both times which makes dining a bit noisy, but its so worth it if you want a great sandwich. read more

I have been going to this restaurant at least once or twice a month for the past couple years I love their shakes and burgers and never had a complaint on food recently I ate at the downtown location received terrible service which I was willing to look past I get it it was a busy Friday night but when I have my card to pay the bill the server ran my card for another table which was about $20 more expensive then mine then when I get my card back and receipt that is not mine he ignored me for a solid 15 mins and took to the point I had to get up and tell him what he did wrong and he said he fixed well after that I check my bank statement a couple days later and he did not fix it. so after that I messaged the general manager told him what happened showed him my bank statement and he apologized and offered for me to come back and have a free meal on him when I want so I decided to take him up on his off and go to the chesterfield location and he told me he would have a table ready for me and I went and the host seemed to know what was going we ate and the server gave me a bill and I had to explain to her what was happening and had to show her the conversation with general manager and for whatever reason they still made me pay for my shakes which I was like cool this girl hands me my bill walks off and I can see her sitting at a table in the back eating and talking and I waited I'd say 25-30 mins and then she comes back and says oh you should've came and got me like are you serious so I'm hoping mike sees this review to let him know how terrible his service is and either he lied to me and didn't talk to that location or they are completely incompetent read more

My wife and I wanted to find a cool spot to spend Valentine's Day, and we had heard about this place from some friends. We arrived at about 5:30 on the Saturday before Valentine's Day. It wasn't terribly busy, and we got a table in about 20 minutes. There aren't many spots to sit and wait, so we had to stand out front (and try to avoid the awkward guy who was tripping on something and talking crazy). They text you when your table is ready, which is a nice use of technology. The hostesses were nice and helpful. They have TVs all around and above the bar area, so you easily watch a game. Danielle was our waitress, and she was wonderful! She made some great recommendations for us and had the perfect balance of checking on us, but not too much. She was personable and asked us some questions and was just really pleasant. Now, the food. Wow! My wife and I agreed: best burgers we've ever had! I had the one with a burger and sliced filet mignon. It was delectable. They were perfectly cooked, and it was just enough food to fill us up, and we even had some leftovers! We got one order of fries, and that was enough for both of us. The food arrived on our table within 10 minutes or so. We ordered two shakes, since we wanted to have the full experience. I am so glad we did! They were incredible. I got the Elvis shake (without banana), so basically just chocolate and peanut butter. YUM. Smooth and delicious. The wife got the Strawberry Fields Forever and loved it as well. We were both very pleased with Black Sheep Burgers and thought it was a fun experience with delicious food and shakes.
