I visited with some friends on a Friday night at 8 PM, and we had a great experience! We were greeted right away and were able to pick where we wanted to sit. We chose some comfy chairs next to the large windows that overlook downtown Springfield. I'm absolutely obsessed with the ambiance. It was dark, moody, classy, and modern. I bet it looks very different during the day when all the natural light comes through! Our sever Elias was quite memorable! He's very attentive and personable, and his outgoing, bubbly personality is contagious. For reference, he literally skipped around rather than walking as he went to and from our table to check on us. It seemed like he was having so much fun and genuinely enjoys working there. I enjoyed a glass of sauvignon blanc. Very small glass for the price in my opinion, but no complaints about the taste. My partner had an espresso martini that was also served in a rather small glass, but it was strong and delicious. Love that they offer so many mocktail options on their menu as well! Next time I'm in town, I'd love to visit again to sit outside and try some of their appetizers. Everything sounded amazing! read more

We didn't order any food, or even look at the menu, but what people at tables around us got looked pretty good! The rooftop is really nice! It's large with a lot of seating. It was the perfect place to watch the sun set. Elias was our server and he was fun! He was also very knowledgeable about the cocktail menu. Their menu is short, but with amazing options. Each dish is the perfect appetizer size for 2 people and the drinks are phenomenal! We came here kind of late and were able to order food right before the kitchen closed. We started off with 2 drinks: a glass of Sauvignon Blanc for me and an Orange Dream for my husband. We were very hungry so we ordered 2 appetizers. The mezze board comes with fresh flatbread, falafel, hummus, baba ghanoush, and tzatziki. We also ordered chips and dip. The dip was yogurt based with chives. Everything tasted absolutely wonderful and flavorful that our plates were sparkling clean by the time we were done. Their service was fast, the staff friendly and attentive. The rooftop location is great offering both indoor and outdoor seating. Three of us shared 4 apps: House Muffaletta (it was ok - Randy wasn't a fan of the combo and I didn't eat it because it had hot salami and that kind of heat is not my jam), chips and dip (it was good - today's dip was creamy cilantro and the chips are homemade potato chips), Mezze Board (the flat bread was excellent, falafel was good, we liked the tzatziki but not the hummus and baba ghanoush) and Albondigas (two of us shared this and it was excellent, so full of flavor). We started out with a couple beers and a fuzzy naval - delish. The service was superb. Sonny was our server and he as friendly, very helpful and efficient. Yes yes yes. Loved our visit to this rooftop bar. It's a touch hidden being in the secondary building of the Vandivort Hotel and on the top floor. Staff was incredibly friendly. We honestly had NO idea that they offered outside seating inside of really cool igloos until we got up there. Luckily it wasn't busy as it was a weeknight and we scored being able to get seated in one of the igloos. There was nice seating, a coffee table and a heater inside so we were comfortable on a cooler night. I had a glass of wine, hubs had a coffee mixed drink, and we shared a slice of cheesecake. It was all very good and prices were very reasonable for the ambiance and vibe. Overall: A+ Must try this rooftop bar and igloos if you're in the area. I have tried this place out a couple of times and it has disappointed me. The place itself is very cool and enjoyable, but there is a certain arrogance or judgment in the air every time. Our waiter was great, but a different employee was very accusatory the moment we sat down, which made our entire experience uncomfortable. TLDR: Tried to come for drinks, was told someone was coming to scan our IDs after bartender said she thought it was fake. Support a smaller, locally owned bar - you're better off! The vibes here were extremely pretentious and mean-spirited. .. Tried to come here for some drinks on a Saturday evening (5/31/25 around 11pm) with three friends and myself. They had all been to Vantage before, two of them often enough to know one of the bartenders and the location itself. I had just turned 23 earlier that week, and also got engaged the day we had tried to visit. So I was very excited to be able to experience Vantage for the first time. As soon as we had went in, no one was at the door to check IDs like there typically is. After walking up to the bar, she asked to see our IDs. She only took two of the four of them, immediately frowned and said "This one's good, I don't know about this one." And then took said ID and compared it to some random customer at the end of the bar. She then took it to her coworker/manager, brought it back and said she didn't feel comfortable serving us. Our friend whose ID she was refusing stated that it was a valid ID and that he had been served here before, so he asked why it wasn't valid. She said that it "Had a shadow in the back and was too flimsy." Him and his wife said that it was real, while my partner and I tried to extend ours' out. She then said "I could call our security guard up here up here to scan them all if you'd like." Obviously we said that would be great, and took a seat at the bar. We were upset, but calmly speaking amongst ourselves while waiting. About 10 minutes pass, and my friend asks if the guard's still coming/if someone else would be able to check/scan our IDs. The bartender kinda of snappily said that there's only one and that he has many other things to do; so it'll take him a second to get up here. At this point, my fiancé and I's IDs haven't even been looked at. We ask about that, she says she can take a look at them. My fiancé was mildly frustrated, so he kind of tossed it onto the counter so it slid towards them. They didn't like that, but she looked at it, didn't say anything while giving it back, and then wouldn't take mine. She repeated "My manager already checked it as well. You'll need to just wait for the security guard." At this point, we didn't even want to buy anything from here. But it was the point of respect and honesty, which I think is not upheld at this business at all. Ultimately, after another 5-10 minutes, my friends ask if he's still coming up. She snaps, "Look I'm gonna have to ask you wait outside." We put all our IDs up, state that it was ridiculous, and that if you don't want to serve us, just tell us so. Don't make us wait for 20 minutes. We decided to just leave rather than wait in the lobby. There's nothing on their website of dress code (even though we all had clean, appropriate jeans/t-shirts), or anything that could've made us feel like we weren't adequately prepared for this location. And I honestly don't even know if someone was ever coming up to begin with. But based off of other reviews, this business seems to be very classist, rude, pretentious, and ignorant. And also racist; I can't attest to that, but I truly wouldn't put it past them after this encounter. I'm not sure what the bartenders' names were, but I will never step foot in this location again after this interaction. Super unfortunate, it looks like a cute place! But the good attitude and customer respect is severely lacking. I would recommend giving your money to somewhere locally owned that will actually treat you with kindness and respect. read more

So fun! Highly recommend! We're staying at the Vandivort Hotel for a wedding and the bride and groom recommended this fun bar on the rooftop. We started out inside, great atmosphere. We had reserved an igloo about a month ago outside. It was so fun! Even on a cold rainy evening. The igloo was heated, so cozy, like being in a little fort. We shared it with our 2 cousins. Easily room for 2 more. We had drinks and appetizers-had old fashioneds (very good but they were out of the Luxardo cherries which would have made them even better but still they were great) and 3 appetizers-a trout dip, mushroom flatbread thing and a pesto flatbread. Downtown Springfield needs more places like Vantage! Vantage is such a cute rooftop bar located at Hotel Vandivort in downtown Springfield. This not a place to go to get a Bud Light or vodka soda but a place to get specialty cocktails. I always like to order a cocktail that the server or bar tender recommends to mix it up. But I always order the Smoked Trout Dip because that shit is literally to die for. Best dip in all of Springfield...even better than Big Whiskeys buff dip. read more

I have been wanting to visit Vantage for 2 years now and finally decided it was time to go and treat myself for my birthday. I cannot say enough positive things about my experience here. To start, the staff was incredibly kind, professional, and personable. The food was delicious and presentation was eye catching and easy to distinguish each different element of the dish. The portions were great, especially if you plan to share between a few plates. You can see the thought that was put into each plate, from the visual to flavor profile. The drinks, though not pictured in this review, were wonderful. I had the mule-telation and sour patch shot and my friend had the cucumber rose lemonade. It was nice to try new and different drinks that we would not usually see at other establishments or think to try. The establishment is clean and well kept. The staff transitioned the space beautifully as the sun set- ringing the bell, taking down table umbrellas, and lighting table candles. There was a pleasant and soothing ambience and we enjoyed the music selection, it fit the space well. I would recommend everyone try Vantage at least once while in Springfield! This is our go to spot for a night out with our of town guests. We particularly like to go during winter and sit outside in the igloos. It's a fun, unusual experience that is always a crowd pleaser. The cocktails are excellent - lots of unusual choices and their seasonal menu keeps things fresh. Also - there is a wide range of drink palette types... sweet, fruity, herbal, medicinal... ask before you order if you like a certain type of cocktail. The bar staff is so genuine, helpful and fun. They deserve big tips - be generous SGF. We are less keen on the snacks. read more

Absolute worst service I've ever received in any restaurant we waited an hour, and we're only given our drinks at the time that we finally requested to order food we were told that they were no longer serving food. They had closed restaurant two minutes before we were waiting an entire hour for the waitress to come get our order, and when I spoke to the manager, he was an absolute jerk and would not listen to anything that we had to say. Happened to stop in Springfield on a road trip and stayed at the Vantage Hotel. I was surprised that in the annex building they had a rooftop bar which exceeded my expectations. The rooftop, looks similar to rooftop bars in Chicago. The view is nice as you can see the sunset and all that surrounds the hotel. The bartender Allen was very hospitable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone from a large city and those from smaller regions who want to have an idea of what a big city rooftop experience is like. read more

I have been coming to this rooftop bar for a little while now. Sad to say it is not the same as it use to be. I ordered a bottle of wine and our server brought me out something completely different. He opened that bottle and place it in the chiller without even mentioning that it is not what I requested.
