WOW! We just decided to stop here on a long drive and I am so glad that we did! The service was awesome and I loved the interior. I wish that there were Black Sheep Burger locations in Utah because I would go there just for the Purple Haze Shake (Blackberry pie). That was absolutely the best shake both my boyfriend and I had ever eaten. It was very creamy and flavorful. There was just enough pie on top (that might I add, did not get soggy!) to have a bit with every bite of the custard. I stopped in while in Springfield on a business trip. I decided to try it because of the other reviews from my fellow Yelpers. The menu was full of things I wanted to try but I could only try a couple on this visit. The Bleus Brothers burger was delicious. The Bleu cheese sauce was excellent. One hour thirteen minutes. That how far we would have to drive tonight when considering trying this place. We figured "to heck with it. Can't go wrong with a good burger". I would drive that distance on a regular basis to eat here again. I've heard of this place and been referred a time or two when looking out for local recommendations. But we live over an hour away and I'd often forget when we were in town. So tonight we were kid free so we drove out. My husband is a go to burger guy so he was all in. Made the drive and then drove around downtown Springfield looking for parking. Saturday night at 7:00 wasn't necessarily our best choice but we finally snagged us a spot! But prepare for that in advance. I'd never take off stars for that because the restaurant has no control over downtown parking. Just a nice heads up. Anytime we drive the distance like this to try a new place we often try to sample multiple things. Gotta make the trip worth it! we started off with waters, a shaken black mint tea, and their purple haze non-alcoholic milkshake. Water was served table side in a cute jar. The mint tea was nice and refreshing. The milkshake was heavenly. Was super thick and I'm still able to enjoy it on the way home. We got the habanero cheese curds and got ranch to dip them in and they were very good. Not super spicy hot in flavor but warm enough to taste the heat. Next came the truffle Parmesan fries which had lots of good flavor. Our server brought truffle Mayo and garlic aioli out for dipping sauces. We liked the truffle Mayo but fries were super good and crispy. The special fries could definitely feed a group. My husband and I ate on them for a bit and didn't even make a dent in them. My husband got the foodie burger. He said at first the cheese was overpowering but after the second bite it really melded with the burger. Pointed out the caramelized onions were really good, but wishes they seasoned their burger patties. I had the Bleu burger and I really enjoyed it. I thought the meat had lots of flavor and I enjoyed the sear on the burger. The blue cheese had a nice bite to it which went good with the candied bacon sweetness. I forgot to ask for no pickles (personally not a fan on burgers/sandwiches) so my first bite had those and it gave it a nice taste and texture but I did take them off to keep eating the burger. At that point we were pretty well stuffed. I could not finish my burger but am definitely bringing that home for my midnight snack. Our server and all of the staff seemed very friendly. We got to sit bar side and got to watch them cook in an open kitchen. I think it's neat getting to watch that and all the employees stayed professional the whole time. It was on the busy side and our server seemed a bit spacey but we're all human and we're never without. At one point we even had the kitchen staff ask how everything was and before he could finish I blurted out "it was so good and so worth the drive from Joplin!" because it was that good. So even if you're considering driving ten minutes across town to grab a burger from here, stop considering it and just do it. read more

Visited this place while in town for a wedding and it was good! The burger I got was a brisket burger and was loaded with onions and BBQ sauce. We also got the Parmesan fries and two shakes (not pictured) boozy Elvis, peanut butter and banana, and purple haze, which had blueberry pie in it I think. Black Sheep, where do I even begin. To think that I wasn't going to give you a chance because chatgbt said that you were a bottom 5 restaurant in Springfield. It's obvious that we shouldn't be worried about ai yet, typical clanker. Every burger we had was delicious, great flavor combos and such a variety. The same can be said about the fries, every bite was a reminder of peace. The milkshakes too! Who else is cranking out boozy milkshakes, especially ones that taste this good? As expected with gluten free buns, the bottom bun was a bit soggy from the meat's juice. The buns were still pretty good, but on the fry side. If the burger patty was juicer or the burger was saucier, it would've helped with the dry GF bun. Overall though, this burger was still good. The What the Doctor Ordered burger was just okay. The truffle & Parmesan fries were good, but we were too full to finish it. The service was good, our server was nice and friendly. I was a little skeptical about this place, because it was what appeared to be a rough area. However, I was looking for a place for me and my 7 year old. I walked in and everybody in there was really friendly. I asked for recommendations and the server recommended the "just what the doctor order" burger, french fries / salt and pepper, an Old Fashioned, a plane and dry burger for my 7 year old and a strawberry shake. Found this place on Yelp and detoured off the interstate just to give it a try. Came in on a Sunday at noon. Very surprised to see a 30 minute wait for a table, as the place was packed, but the bar was open so we sat down there. Wife had the veggie burger and I had the Cowboy. We also ordered a side of the jalapeño cheese curds. Those had a heck of a zing! Really not expected, but very good. Both burgers were good but the Cowboy was just crazy big. Half went in a box. Also got the Elvis milkshake without booze, as we still had 3 hours in front of us on the road. Now let me tell you, this milkshake was worth the price of admission. Always a must stop when coming to the area. The place is super busy if you are not here when it opens. We put our server to the test when 18 of us hungry guys showed up and she did great! Their portions of fries are super big, two people can share. If you are getting their delish burgers, make sure you have plenty of napkins. The place has enough tables but it gets overcrowded with small space to walk through at certain spots. I went to Black Sheep today for the first time. It was an incredible experience. The rib burger was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. My waitress, Lottie, was very attentive and helpful and made the visit worthwhile by itself. The Elvis milkshake was incredible. Make sure to try their chipotle barbecue sauce. I got a regular cheese burger and absolutely loved it! We asked about the patties and found they were never frozen and were a great mix of Wagyu and prime beef. The pickles were also something they produce themselves. The fries were great too. Service was great and the house sauce was pretty good. What a great find as we traveled along 44 on our way to St Louis. Parking was not difficult but it took a few minutes to find an empty spot during the lunch rush. We enjoyed the ambiance and would love to come back for dinner and enjoy one of their signature shakes. The Cowboy Carl burger I got was top notch with brisket, homemade pickles, bbq sauce and and over abundance of onion straws. It was delicious but there is no way I could eat all of the onions. We filled a take home box with extra fries and the rest of the onion straws. I think the fries are enough for three people if you're all getting a burger too. It was a lot of food. Yes. Yes. Yes! Woot, so glad we stopped in here to eat lunch nearby our hotel. We fell in love pretty much from the time we entered, but kept that feeling throughout the experience. They have a warehouse / modern vibe to the interior. Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I really needed to charge my phone and the gracious hostess was kind enough to get us a table that had access to an outlet. The table was towards the back, which was actually really nice for a view of the whole place. The menu had come pre-set burger options, as well as an offer to make up your own custom burger. There are also salads and other items if you aren't in the mood for a burger. Shakes come in regular or 'adult' with alcohol add in. Of course we both opted for adult :) We shared a salt and pepper fries (more than enough for two persons) and I did the "Foodie" burger cooked medium - I cannot sing it's praises high enough. Delicious, juicy, perfectly medium, and full of flavor. For my shake I did the Boss - which is basically an alcohol infused Oreo shake - delicious and a wonderful partner to a salty / cheesy burger. Our waitress check on us regularly and gave us a variety of sauces to try with our food. The truffle mayo is a must! Hubs also loved the chipotle ketchup! There is street parking that's free for 2 hours, which is enough time to enjoy a meal here and get on your way (if you can roll your full belly outta your chair that is). Overall: A++ Yes. Yup. Yeah.
