Watched him rub his back and his butt and use same hand to place fries in Basket. Fries spilt on pick up station and just swept fries back into the basket with hand and added a few more. From the time I walked in until the time that I left the experience was great! Every employee was positive and kind. I don't remember the bartenders name but she works on Monday's and Sunday's for sure, was absolutely amazing and helpful. The food was outstanding. The fries and cheese curds perfectly cooked! Everyone hyped this place up! I was expecting to be completely wowed, and unfortunately it fell a little short for me. We had a table of 6 on a Friday night. We knew it might be busy, but we walked in and got sat immediately. The drinks were kind of hit or miss. The baaa'garita was tasted so salty my friend and I agreed it was like drinking salt water. I got a different drink after, and it was fine but definitely didn't taste like what I ordered. After ordering entrees, it took an hour for just the burgers to come out. Fries we ordered with burgers came out 30 minutes before our burgers did. And some of the burgers were steaming hot and some were pretty cold. I will say the fries were absolutely fantastic. They were so crispy and flavorful. The burger besides being cold was also really good. The wagyu patty was so flavorful and it was cooked well. The service was fine but nothing to rave about. The real gripe from our group was that no one until the very end had told us the food is still coming they're just delayed or gave any indication the server knew we didn't have food yet. We finally got a "thanks for your patience on your food" but that was after she was collecting our cards. Overall I'd come back and try it again on a less busy day or a smaller group. read more

I'm so sad I didn't get a picture of my incredible short rib sandwich with the perfect name,' Just What The Doctor Ordered'!! The wagyu short rib was melt in your mouth delicious (could it have been the Dr Pepper that it marinated in for 12 hours? Maybe the truffle mayo? The Sunnyside up egg, that really brought it together.) I sat at the bar right in front of the griddle and what a pleasure to watch the teamwork of Zach and the crew! They had a 40 top upstairs and we're right in the middle of that craziness when I sat down. They greeted me. That tells you how great the people are. I would have never guessed they were slammed! Walked in around 6:15 they were busy with no one waiting in line. Not a big deal we don't mind waiting on good food. Mind you we have eaten here before amd it was good food amd good service. The hostess asked our party how many and we had 6 she said sure it'll be 20min just go ahead and wait outside. We cannot have people standing inside. Fine by me we went elsewhere. We stopped in for lunch during a conference in downtown Springfield, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Service was extremely slow--we arrived at noon but it took 30 minutes for our fries to arrive. By 12:45 we still hadn't received our meals. We had also placed to-go orders at the start and specifically requested they be put in at the same time, but our server forgot. On top of that, one of our meals was thrown away while she was in the bathroom after only taking one bite. The meal was replaced but delayed her from getting back to the conference on time. By 1:30, we finally had everything sorted out, but the entire experience was frustrating and far too time-consuming. A friend of mine recommended Black Sheep, specifically the one downtown. He said it was his favorite place to get a cheeseburger, so I had to try it out. I had the "don't go bacon my heart" burger. The burger and the bacon were cooked perfectly. The burger was juicy and flavorful, the bacon was cooked till just short of crispy, which, in my opinion, is perfect. All the toppings complimented it very well. My wife had the "doggie " with cheese, mustard , and ketchup. She thought it was really good. We shared a french fry, as they are big enough to share. Ours were the sea salt and pepper fries. They were crispy and seasoned right. We tried two different sauces with them, the chipotle ketchup, and the sriracha mayo. Both were good, but we liked the ketchup better. The wife had the "you're all I need" shake, minus the whisky. It was awesome! The cookie dough in it made it better than most shakes or ice cream. It was blended better and softer than most cookie dough. I had a drink called "take it easy". It was tasty and was mixed well. We got there just before it got busy, but by the time we left it was hopping. It was a cool place to hang out. The service was great and everyone there was welcoming. We've enjoyed eating at Black Sheep a number of times while visiting Springfield. We got there around 6:00 on a Thursday and were seated right away. The place has a cook look and they play good music! Our food and boozy shakes were really good! I didn't get a photo of our food, but my husband and I shared a "don't go bacon my heart" burger and the habanero cheese curds. We stumbled upon this gem back in 2017. So when we knew we were going through Springfield again it seemed like the logical choice. The food did not disappoint! One of those burgers you have to cut in half to get our first bite!!!! They bring you a sampling of sauces for those oh so yummy sea salt and pepper fries! Last time we were here we got shakes but since we still had several hours of driving we thought a food coma would not be a good choice. But..... their shakes are fantastic. My only complaint was the service. We walked in and someone said someone will be with you. 5 minutes later someone said a server will be right with you. Another 5 minutes after a meandering server not doing much finally walked over and asked how many. She didn't seem to get in a hurry about much of anything. We weren't planning on spending 2 hours eating lunch but thats what it took. Great atmosphere and next time we stop my hope is the service is better! The food was great. We had a burger and sandwich and some shakes. We were seated pretty quickly and things seemed well. The ambiance is cool with various eras of rock playing over the speakers. We ordered our shakes and they came fairly quick for how busy it was. The only problem we had here was of no fault of the restaurant but the server. Everyone in Black Sheep was working hard, running other peoples food, drinks, etc. Our server, Kaylah, however, was pretty distracted. Talking with friends was obviously more important than getting napkins or silverware to us. It was also more important than getting our check. We asked for it, went over to the computer, started walking back over but stopped and turned around when she realized she forgot to get the check. I understand being busy, but she obviously wasn't that busy because anytime she wasn't at our table (which was hardly) she was at the table behind us chatting and laughing. Brisket is difficult to eat unless it's cut against the grain. Stringy and had trouble cutting it into smaller pieces with their very dull knife. Left it. Dug down and found the small patty underneath all the fried onion strings. Guess I ordered the wrong sandwich. My family loves the place. I found it Meh. Got the smoked fries of which just tasted like seasoned fries. They were hood but I didn't taste any smoke flavor. They were on the salty side. The restaurant was in a nice area with other eateries and bars near by. Inside was pleasant and all the staff were very attentive and welcoming. Our waiter was very helpful and suggested items for us to try and was very detailed on their menu. The burgers were amazing and the flavors paired well to the point we almost ordered another one but didn't as they were very filling. The sauces were average but we really did like the garlic and chipotle sauce the most.
