Ahi tuna

I thoroughly enjoyed my seared Aji tuna on an amazing bed of greens. My friend really liked her sirloin steak. My husband, however, did not enjoy his ribeye. It wasn't very thick or flavorful. Overall, I would go back though!

The worst place in Branson...

Don't waste time or money on this overpriced mediocre food... the staff is rude and "can't accommodate a party of 10" McDonald's would be a better choice 10/10 times...

This place is right on the broadwalk landing in Branson. When we went there was no wait time and there is plenty of seating in their large dinning room. The decor is spot on for the area. The food was amazing!!! Portion sizes perfect, the food was hot and so good. We will certainly be back to eat here!

Prime rib sandwich with au jus and the spinach salad with goat cheese. This was so good! I absolutely love their salads.

The Black Oak grill is located on the end of the landing opposite of Bass Pro. There is easy parking behind it and it's close to get tp. I love the ambiance with all the windows and the decor is so cute! We have always been seated pretty quickly and the service is great! I especially love their salads. Their salad dressings are homemade and really delicious! I had the Prime rib sandwich with au jus and the spinach salad with goat cheese. This was so good! I absolutely love their salads. The second time we went at dinner I had the large chef salad. The ranch dressing is heavenly! My husband had the clubhouse sandwich the 1st time and the second time a burger. He really liked both. We have been enough times now to know the food is consistently good. It is definitely in our Branson restaurant rotation for sure!!

BBQ Nachos pulled pork edition! Really good and again a great portion.

The coldest draught beer I've ever had. Actually came out with the lite slush on top. So cold! We ordered the pulled pork nachos and the fried goat cheese ball and they were both really good. The service was excellent and very responsive and attentive. She asked if my beer needed a refill right when I finished it! Great atmosphere with outdoor seating on the water or enjoy the AC inside while it's summer hot here. We will be back.

Great place to grab lunch h- good food for an affordable price. These kinds of places usually don't offer lunch menus but loved that they did here. The interior is well kept and a nice atmosphere. Very nice bathrooms. Our server was excellent, and the food was pretty good. My spinach salad was very solid, great toppings but little things fell to the wayside (chewier chicken, cold bacon that's lost it's crisp but still real bacon, probably could use a little more apple cider vinegar in the dressing) . That's just my tips for the kitchen. My partner loved their sandwich!

In Branson for the weekend and stopped in for lunch. Located at the end of the Branson Landing strip. We were seated right away in a comfortable booth. There's a big sign above the bar that the restaurant uses locally sourced produce and meat, so we looked forward to a farm-to-table experience. My husband is on a strict diet for medical reasons so can't have dairy, gluten or sugar. He found a few items on menu that would work and ordered the Ahi Tuna salad holding the cheese, with olive oil and lemon sub for the maple dressing. I had the pot roast, which came in a smaller portion for lunch. Server brought bread and honey whipped butter to the table. The food and service were fine, but this is not a spot with great atmosphere despite other reviews. It reminded me of a bar that also serves food. Quite casual, as are most places in Branson. My husband commented that the flatware - specifically the fork - felt inexpensive like the style you might find in a diner. Women's restroom was average cleanliness. The whole experience was good but not great.

Their AC was finally working, so we gave it a shot. Everything was fine in the beginning. Giving our appetizer and entrée orders went well, and that's where the pleasantries ended. While waiting on the food, we opened our silverware and they were ALL dirty (x4). Every single one had chunks of food on the knives/forks. We asked for replacement silverware from the person who brought our appetizer and he seemed annoyed, like we were putting him out. He brought us 3 more and left. We opened the new set of silverware, and 1 was dirty. We're not being overly picky. It was gross. When the waitress comes back, one of the few times she checked on us, we mentioned the silverware issue. She brought us another one and said this happens a lot there. Ew! She has me open it in front of her and that one was dirty too. She seemed annoyed and got another set. On this new set, I was mainly looking at the fork and it was fine. I told her we were good and she left. After she left, I saw that the knife was gross, so I had my son grab another set from a different table. Finally, 9 sets later, this set was clean. SMH. The fact that we had to go through SO many sets just to find 3 clean ones is completely unacceptable! It makes you wonder how clean the dinner plates are. And of our 4 appetizer plates we had, 2 of those were dirty. I just don't understand. After quite a while, our appetizer finally came out. It looked like a deep bowl of white queso w/ little spinach bits in it, accompanied by tortilla chips. When we tasted it, that's exactly what it was. The spinach was almost not existent, and the cheese dip portion of it was incredibly bland. We had to add quite a bit of salt and pepper just to give it flavor. It was a little odd to be honest, but not terribly bad. Our entrées arrive. I got the center cut steak, w/ sautéed mushrooms and onions on top. I added horseradish sauce and raw horseradish on the side (I always order horseradish w/ steak- great flavor). My sides were zucchini and mashed potatoes. The potatoes weren't bad. The gravy was really creamy but a little on the bland side. Zucchini was slightly more flavorful, but not by much. The steak tasted like it was cooked in water so they could get it well-done, as requested. It was really tough and parts of it were overly chewy. I didn't even eat half of it. The sautéed mushrooms were the most flavorful thing on the plate. The quantity of mushrooms was perfect, however, I can't say the same about the onions. They were pretty much nonexistent, barely any on the plate. My husband's ribeye was very chewy and gristly. He said 40% of it was gristle, so he was disappointed as well. He liked his potatoes which did have flavor after he moved the herb butter from his steak to his potatoes. He said the zucchini was fine after he salt and peppered it. And FYI, my husband and I aren't ones to add salt and pepper before tasting the food. We rarely have to re-season dishes. At some point, after drinking a few sips of the tea, I decided to switch to Dr Pepper, since they did not have Sweet & Low. I was never offered a refill, but she did bring that 1 Dr Pepper in a timely fashion. For the most part, the waitress was MIA. When she did return, she'd drop things and run. I'd start to say something to her and she'd walk off. I'd get one word out and she'd be gone. I'd turn around to see if she was behind me or walking around the table, and she was nowhere to be found until she popped up again. The service here is just as disappointing as most of the food. When she asked how our meal was, I said that it was alright, but most of the food was pretty bland. She says "ok" and walks off without saying anything else. Again, what the heck is her problem? After 10 min or so she returns, ticket in hand. Mind you, I'm not even halfway done w/ my meal. She says- "here you go. We discounted some of the ticket for you." I tried to tell her that she didn't have to do that, I just wanted them to be aware so that it could be fixed, and she talks over me in a louder voice, finishes what she's saying, and walks off again. Really? First of all, we didn't ask for a discount. We're fully capable of paying the full ticket price for the food that we ordered. I just wanted the issue to be corrected in the future. I didn't even need them to remake anything. I just wanted them to be aware so they could fix it in the future. This waitress shouldn't be in a customer service role. Some of us were going to order a dessert, but we didn't get the opportunity because the waitress was having her little fit. And no, we didn't get there right before closing or anything, so there's no excuse for it. So not only did they lose the money she discounted on our ticket and the sale of potentially 3 desserts, but also our future business. We're locals (newly moved) and we eat out almost every single day. You do the math.

The well done thin rideye.

I don't like giving a bad review. I took my Brother to Black Oak, telling him we could get an up scale meal there. It was anything but. He ordered the Rib Eye, medium. It came Blue. I ordered a cheeseburger medium rare. It was raw, cold inside. We couldn't find our waiter so we asked another waiter to take it back. She apologized and brought anew plate out. The steak was real thin and well done. My cheese burger was dry and well done. Our waiter finally came by and apologized saying it was probably his fault. We were hungry so we ate what was there and left disappointed. The manager never came by and checked on us. We were very disappointed and I was embarrassed for suggesting the restaurant. This was my 4th time eating there and have always had an ok meal. No more.

Food was just average. My prime rib French dip was a bit dry, but my husband did enjoy the meatloaf. Overall, nothing special.

How gluten-free friendly is this establishment? We are coming out to Branson in April 2025 and one of our companions has celiac. Is this place safe to visit for her?

Had a great meal here while visiting Branson. If you're in the mood for big, indulgent comfort food…read morelike burgers and loaded nachos, this place really delivers. We ordered the Pork Trashcan Nachos and they were incredible -- piled high and packed with flavor. Definitely a must-try if you come here. I also tried the Mac & Cheese Burger. It was fun and unique, though I personally prefer a thicker burger patty rather than a thinner one. Still, it was creative and tasty, and the overall food quality was excellent. The restaurant had a fun, energetic vibe and the service was friendly and attentive, which made for a really enjoyable dining experience. One slightly odd moment at the end: our server handed us a card encouraging a review, which is totally fine, but it also included a religious message ("Jesus saves"). Everyone is certainly entitled to their beliefs, and I respect that, but it felt a little unexpected as part of the dining experience. Personally, I'd rather just keep the focus on the great food and service. Overall though, a really good meal and a fun place to eat if you're visiting Branson. Definitely worth stopping in for the nachos alone.

Let me just say that we have been to Branson twice for probably a combined dining experience number…read moreof around 12 times and this blew everything so far out of the water, it should be in it's own league. The poutine was fabulous. The fry coating was crisp and tasty and the gravy was full of flavor. The Reuben sandwich is outstanding! The way they cut that corned beef was nothing short of magic. An egg on there? What? I've never heard of such a thing, but yes please. And I had the brûlée corn; which I may need to learn how to replicate because I've never seen this on any menu in Chicago, but it's too far to travel as often as I'll be thinking about that dish! The old fashions were smooth! Went with vanilla and loved the subtle flavors. Everyone was so nice and the atmosphere was a delightful mix of old school pub/English castle. All of it was just what I was hoping to find. Food off the beaten path that deserves a huge shout out. In a town of bland flavors, this place shines like a real gem!

Sat in a comfy table with a padded pew close to the bar with our backs to the wall, which instantly put my hyper vigilant husband at ease (IYKUK). Chatted a bit with our kind server who was also a millennial, how do I know this? The eye contact and lovely snarky conversation. My husband ordered his med rare, which probably came out more med and not enough pink for his liking. Correction on my part, I got the mahi mahi with parmesan grits and green beans and I didn't even need to look at my pictures to recall, it was that memorable of a meal. Being early January a parking spot nearby was an easy find, I imagine though finding one come spring will feel like a miracle. I'd love to stay at the attached hotel but found it's already booked a year out. Doesn't surprise me, the old English charm with its stone and dark wood is straight up story book.
