When you find lefty gear among the rightys....PRICELESS!

Even though my family was waiting in the car, I felt I could've stayed in there all day. The customer service was non-judgmental; they felt friendly and knowledgeable. A smaller store but filled with affordable instruments and additions. 5 Stars because they had more left-handed instruments than I've seen in one store almost anywhere!

Black Mountain offers upper-tier guitars in a range of styles and colors. Accessory, amps, pedals, lessons, straps- everything a great guitarist could ask for in a boutique music shop. We will return if in the area, and shop their online store until then. Parking is minimal, but it's well worth the visit.

WOW, they have the nicest acoustic guitars I have seen. Unfortunately the one I wanted is out of my price range, it's called a McPherson.

I left the guitar with Guitar Gallery and the tech took my guitar off site to his own shop to troubleshoot and try to resolve the issue. After a couple weeks I called and was told he was still working on it but should have it finished soon. Finally I called and was told he was bringing it back over to the store and I could pick it up just before they closed. I picked it up and paid $65 for his time and efforts. He said the static was still present but was perhaps slightly less, and that the static could be coming from the plastic cover plates on the back of the guitar and he said he would make me new replacement covers of a different t material to see if that would alleviate the static. He said he would have them done in about a week. I brought the guitar home and discovered the vibrato trem arm was missing. I called the tech's cell the next day and he never answered or returned messages. I called the shop and they said they didn't know anything about the missing trem arm. After many many attempts I eventually gave up and just ordered a new trem arm from an online shop. I never heard from anyone again about the replacement back plate covers or my missing trem arm. I do not recommend taking a guitar to this shop for any repair. I'm out $65 for attempted repairs, and another $25 to replace the misplaced trem arm myself. Signed...Pissed in Peoria

The store is packed with any genre of sheet music and books (and TAB form) for every instrument you can imagine (banjo, dulcimer, mandolin, vocals, guitar, piano, brass instruments, woodwinds, etc all of them). They sell accessories such as guitar strings, tuners, straps, picks, music stands, and some acoustic guitars and banjos as well. Vinyl records and small musical gifts line the walls, it's so fun to explore and each time you visit you'll find something new, as there's so much selection. If there is something they don't have in stock, they will order it for you. The vibe is very relaxed and they are never pushy, you can look around for 30 min alone exploring if you want and just ask if you need anything. Love this place and can't recommend it enough, it's also a vintage store with history dating back to the 1950's so it has such cute charm and decor, it's an experience that online shopping can't give. I now purchase all my sheet music and guitar accessories from Central Music, support local!

We had three choices and price points, and I selected the "student" one which was the least expensive, and wow, this instrument sounds so much better and is in great shape! We were in and out of the shop in 20 minutes. The salesperson helping us was knowledgeable and friendly and we were able to find the accessories we needed as well (shoulder rest sponge and rosin). She's been playing it for 3 months with no issues and it doesn't go out of tune quickly like her cheap one. Billing is automatic and easy, with no mistakes. Such a great experience - we'll definitely be back when it's time to upgrade to the next one!
