Pad Se Ewe, perfectly cooked.
Robert F.

A great place. Friendly service, comfortable seating, and a diverse menu. We ate here for dinner and then breakfast. My wife's tri tip sandwich was tender and French fries were crisp. My Pad Se Ewe was well seasoned, vegetables were properly cooked, and the tofu I requested was also seasoned. Mike is a nice guy and his beer is excellent. "Gravity Falls" is a stout aged in whiskey barrels. Chocolate notes and complex flavors abound. My vegetarian omelette was filled with tender broccoli, cherry tomatoes, and sliced avocado on top. Hash browns were delightfully crisp. Cappuccino was hot but too milky and shot was sour - a finer grind and half the milk would fix that. Mike refuses to turn the "Closed" sign to "open" in the morning. But don't let that stop you!

"Oil derrick" draft beer handles.

Black Gold Brewing Company offers a rustic oil-town feel, with wooden booths, brick and corrugated metal walls, and a bar with "oil derrick" draft beer handles. The menu is eclectic, offering typical brew pub fare, as well as a full range of Thai food. We stuck with the basics and ordered the special - pot roast. Now, this was my mother's best dish ever, and I never thought I would find pot roast that rivaled hers, but this was the real deal. Incredible. Portions were big enough for 2 people. Service was outstanding and very friendly, prices were fair. The only "problem" was that on a Friday night, there were very few people there. This restaurant deserves a larger crowd. We were visiting the town during a short vacation. If we're there again, will definitely hit up Black Gold Brewing Co for dinner again. (Sorry the picture of the pot roast looks like it's half eaten - it was.)

Nice craft brew house and restaurant in the heart of Taft. A throwback with modern conveniences. My wife and I stopped in after a morning of antique shopping and we noticed how cozy and clean it was. Great bar to the right that reminds you of an old western saloon. A few tv's playing today's news. A gun & ammo shop towards the back! God bless America. So many choices I wanted to try but we settled on a cheeseburger and orange chicken. The meat for the burger was a good choice meat. Onion rings I never tried because my wife devoured them so yes they were very good. The show stopper? The orange chicken was PHENOMENAL OUTSTANDING TREMENDOUS. Every bite was perfect. No chewy chunks or bitter tasting orange sauce. Crunch after crunch and a perfectly blended orange sauce. We sampled an egg roll too and it along with the homemade sauce was perfect. I do not just give away five stars but for this effort it is worthy. Also on the menu are Thai, steaks, chicken, stews, soups and pot roasts. We will definitely be back to sample those.

This is not a pulled pork sandwich

Cute little place. Ordered a pulled pork sandwich and got some type of brisket sandwich. Ranch tastes store bought fries had no seasoning

Very eclectic old fashioned homage to the pool industry that made Taft an oil giant in the day.

Very happily surprised to find such a jewel of the lunch stop as we pulled into Taft on our back road tour to arroyo grande to say good bye to Our dear gal pal Debby A. Great pastrami and sis on sour dough and Sherryl's chicken salad. Delicious snd we had curbside booth to watch their Veterans day parade. It was 5 minutes long so much different than porterville either 10 marching bands 3 hours long. .

Ribeye salad is something to try before you die. That thing is amazing. 100% will be getting again when I'm in Taft.

I rarely write restaurant reviews, but I felt this restaurant truly deserved one!…read more Not only is their food delicious, but their customer service is also outstanding! That was actually my very first impression when I visited their restaurant for the first time. This time, I ordered through Uber Eats, and I was genuinely impressed by the attention to detail they put into their packaging. My Thai iced coffee came with a small plastic carrying handle, which made it so much easier to carry, especially when your hands are already full of food and other bags! It may seem like such a small detail, but it's exactly the kind of thoughtful touch that most restaurants overlook. To me, these little things make a huge difference because they show how much a business truly cares about its customers' experience. Thank you for being so thoughtful and putting so much care and effort into everything, even something as simple as packaging a drink! It's clear that the people behind this restaurant genuinely care about what they do and take pride in creating a wonderful experience for their customers. Great food, excellent service, and thoughtful attention to detail. That's what makes a restaurant stand out! Keep up the amazing work!

I read that the food is all made fresh and expect it to take 1-2hrs to prepare. We ordered the yellow Thai curry with tofu - the tikka masala with cheese, garlic naan and the last one was Malaysian Laksa. The meal was full of flavor. Like others mentioned I have to highlight the coconut in the curry. A real treat for my tastebuds. Everything was superb. The Laksa was bursting with flavors as well. So good. It's one of those meals where you are trying to identify each herb and spice used. And just want to take your time with each bite to thoroughly enjoy. Very complex flavors and so delicious. The portions are very good and we are looking forward to enjoying the 2nd half for dinner again this evening. It really was a treat and we will be back when we are in the area again. You must try to understand! Kind of surprising to find such a culinary treat in such a small mountain area. Frazier is lucky to have this little gem!

We waited for a little bit for them to clear off a table and were seated quickly. It's a simple layout inside. They have enough seating to nicely fill the space. And a TV hung up that was playing The Super Mario Galaxy Movie at the time, which was fun to have on. The service at this restaurant was fantastic! Our server was very attentive, sweet, and made sure to check in on us at different points during our meal. The great thing about the meal is that it's family style! We ordered the yellow curry and the pineapple fried rice. When the meal came out, they handed us separate plates for each of us to serve the portion we wanted. I only experienced a couple of negatives when it came to the food and that was: 1. The yellow curry was so delicious and had a nice coco-nutty flavor, but it felt like a few too many potatoes and not enough chicken. 2. The pineapple fried rice lacked pineapple. I love a few pineapple chunks in my fried rice but this had more of the pineapple flavoring and none of the actual fruit. Now, these aren't as much negatives as they are dish preferences. Everything still tasted solid and we left with our Thai food craving satisfied! Btw, make sure when you visit not to sleep on their dessert. The dessert is the best part! I absolutely love their sweet sticky rice with coconut ice cream. They add peanuts on top of it and it's incredible. Definitely go and check them out!
