Came here to see what the hypes all about with Guy coming from Triple D's. I know I'm late in the game but I recently moved here to Taft. Needless to say there is only 2 Asian restaurants. The other one is more like a panda express style. This place is more restaurant atmosphere where you take a seat and they offer adult beverages. I tried the shrimp rice in a pineapple bowl. You can pick your level of heat with this dish. I cant do too much heat so nice and mild for me. Will I come back? Yes! This was my 2nd time going back for this same dish. But I'd rather bring it home than eat it there. With that said you don't get the whole half of the pineapple. If you're in Taft and wanting Asian food and want to be waited on Asian experience is the place to go. read more

I ordered on phone, when I went to pick up order, I was told amount was 3 times what it showed on the menu from the internet. When I asked women she said Dennis just updated the menu to the correct price, menu hadn't been updated in years, I would had thought when menu was old it should have been deleted from internet. We are senior citizens who don't get to town for dinner very often as we live far enough out in the country to make it hard. A large group was ordering as we came in. We waited an hour and half with only one of our meals served. I told them to cancel my order and how much for my husband's. The waitress blamed another staff member of delivering my food to another table in error. I had already asked her about my food with no response after checking with the kitchen. When we left the two tables of two patrons each were already eating and they came in way after us. There was no attempt to smooth out their mistakes. I will not be going back! read more

This restaurant alone makes me miss living in this town. I've tried 8 different Thai restaurants since I've left and nothing comes close to what Niki and Dennis provide. The best red curry and stir fry dishes I've had. And when you ask for Thai spicy, you actually get spice that will hurt you in the best way. You can't beat the small town service you get either. I wanted to do something special for my 300th review. I was driving from Sacramento to Bakersfield, and this place was about 45 minutes out of the way, but hey... Guy Fieri said that it was worth the side trip. It definitely was. It looks very unassuming on the outside, and the inside is a relatively small space . It looked a lot bigger on TV. Everybody was very friendly. As usual , when I visit a " Triple D " place , I want to try what Guy had. I ordered the lunch portion of the pad Thai. it came with an egg roll, and a bowl of chicken soup with cabbage. The eggroll was fantastic, not greasy at all, and the chicken soup was very good. I liked the broth, and there were plenty of goodies inside. I especially liked the pad Thai. I had it with chicken. I asked for it with very little spice, and that's what I got. I noticed that there was just a tiny bit there. There was plenty of good flavored chicken, and it was nice and tender. The noodles and the bean sprouts were very good, and I loved the sauce. The tamarind made it sweet, but not overly sweet, and the peanuts gave it a great crunch. Because it was a lunch portion, it didn't look that big. It was. I had enough to take with me for a nice dinner as well. The price was very reasonable. I would gladly make another side trip to Taft just to eat here again. Thank you! read more

Friends of mine said this place was The Bomb! We decided to try it and we don't agree. We ordered everything with medium spice. Ordered the Tum Yum Chicken soup which was ok. Not very spicy, a little bland, but decent. The Orange Chicken was really good, I'll definitely order that again. Also ordered the Pad Kee Mao with beef. This one was a big disappointment. It looked fabulous!! But it had NO flavor at all! The beef, no flavor. The noodles, no flavor. I took it home to add some spice to it at home. No way I was eating no flavor noodles, just to eat. The place is located in an older building that has lots of charm to it. Way bigger inside than it looks from the outside. There was an older gentleman, that worked there or owned the place, sitting at the bar scrolling through his phone with the volume so loud we could hear it LOUDLY at our table. Seriously!?! Very rude. Headphones or earbuds have been invented for just this particular setting. Not sure this is the place for flavorful Thai food. Orange Chicken, yes. That's about it. read more

We drive from Bakersfield to eat here. The food is excellent. This time. I ordered the pineapple rice and my husband ordered drunken noodles. He's crazy and get a high level of four. The staff is always extra friendly. Bathroom is nasty and it really smells and there's definitely some water damage in there so hold it if you can. read more

So I'd never heard of this place but since I was in town my buddy decided to introduce me to "the spot." First off I noticed the sign outside with Guy saying this was a triple D spot. Walking in we were immediately greeted and seated. Drinks and menus were brought shortly there after. Looked over the lunch deals and decided on the orange chicken which comes with white rice and potstickers appetizers. It came with more but we tore in to them once they hit the table. Our lunch also came with 2 egg rolls which didn't survive long enough to snap a pick. So apparently I was warned ahead of time that they ask you what heat level you'd like your order depending on your choice, I personally like spicy but didn't know what to expect based on the warning that was issued to me. I asked for medium heat but if I go stain I'll order spicy. What can I say. I like the heat. Orange chicken was full of flavor and more than enough sauce to coat all the pieces on my plate! Overall a good experience, I'd like to try some other items on the menu, price wasn't bad at all and service was great! read more

We came to Asian experience with our local friends. We're from San Diego and the food here is amazing and way better than our Thai restaurants in SD. Loved the drunken noodle and soups. Our whole table was so impressed with the food and felt it was very authentic. Spice was perfect. read more

I think it is a good option if you are in the area. There aren't a lot of choices. The service was friendly and the food was ok. The Pad See-Ew was the best of our order. The Tom Kha Gai was okay but had a lot of filler vegetables which some folks might enjoy. My Rad Nar was okay. I learned the "gravy" is a cornstarch sauce with little body. I had the spicy beef and broccoli with chow mein Noodles and an order of cream cheese rolls. Usually the food is worth the price but I don't know if it was because they were busy but my plate wasn't the same portion it usually is and they gave me regular beef instead of spicy beef I only had 3 piece of broccoli :( read more

In Taft for work and looking for someplace other than fast food restaurants to feed my face. A local recommended Asian Experience so I plugged the address into gps and was there in two shakes of a lamb's tail. Upon walking in, you get a quaint family feel and a cheerful greeting. The right wall is exposed brick and I loved that look. The smells that filled the restaurant perked my appetite up and without much hesitation I ordered the Pad Thai. I surely was not disappointed. While it might not have visually appeared to be as delicious as some of the other Pad Thais I have dominated, it certainly was tasty. Especially the tofu! Tofu can be tricky all the way around, but they are on their game here! It was crispy enough on the outside, soft on the inside, and the flavor was deep and extremely delicious. The same for the noodles. Very authentic and SO incredibly tasty. My co-worker ordered chicken chow mein and it was absolutely beautiful when brought to the table. A lovely mix of appetizing noodles, vegetables, and chicken. Our lunch was delicious, I was highly impressed and so glad that it was recommended. Well this is the first time I returned to Taft in a long long while. I am so glad Asian Experience is just like it was, even more awesome than I remembered . First time for my brother to eat here. He was blown away by the flavor; he said "BEST ORANGE CHICKEN I've had, by far!" The soup was scrumptious. Our server Megan couldn't have been more perfect. Taft is as funky as I remember it! Midweek, midday, everything is closed. My friend Dhada and I duck into Mi Casita for a margarita and then head to Asian Experience when it reopens at 4. The place is small and busy, with about 8 booths and tables.it is a bit run down, with old wooden booths and junky styling--but that's not why we are here. We share the Kee Mao noodles with shrimp and the Tom Yum Kung soup. The soup was spicy and sweet, with a lemongrass silk to it. The wide noodle dish was punctuated with veggies like mini corn. The flavor was red peppery and not too spicy--we ordered everything medium plus spicy. They have beer and wine on tap and even have saporro on tap! So, normally I might avoid a place that serves Japanese and Thai and Chinese and Pizza--but this place is worth the drive. read more

Well this is a hard review to write. This one STAR is for the owner/manager for Asian Experience and I hope he will read this. First off this would be a 5 STAR experience if it wasn't for the lack of service!!!! I called and made a reservation for 5:30 on Saturday evening for a table for 4. We arrived about 5:15 and the place was already pretty full. I went to the register adn told the waitress that we had a reservation but was early. She stated she didn't have one under my name. I told her to look under my buds name cause when we made the reservation he had left a message and during our conversation I wanted to make sure she didn't double the reservation. She found a postit with my name on it for Friday not Saturday. Not a huge deal other than we had to sit at the table next to the front door. That evening it got a little cold and people kept coming in an out and proving the door open. So after we were sat the waitress who appeared to be the Hostess, Cashier, Waitress and Bus Boy finally took our order after several interruptions. The drinks came out fairly quick however during the 20 plus minute wait for the food she never came by to check on us for refills. Probably because she was waiting on 8 other tables or doing one of the many jobs I listed. Finally the food arrives and we got to refill our drinks. The food was outstanding. The Seafood Pizza was incredible, The Pad See Ew with Chicken was some of the best. Will order with Calamari next time. And the Tom Yum Soup with seafood had just the right about of spice to keep you wanting more. Again after the food and we had pretty much emptied our drinks again we never had her return to check on us to make sure everything was OK. We watched at least 20 plus people come in and told they had no idea how long the wait would be so they all left and went somewhere else. The smart ones were calling in food to go only to be told they could take anymore to go orders. They finally took the phone off the hook. I had to go to the counter to get the bill so we could leave. Not sure if it was because she was doing the work of 3 people of that she didn't want an open table so she could get caught up. SHAME ON THE OWNER for not jumping in and helping his staff or for not staffing his place with enough people the handle the business. Great food will only carry a business so far. We have been trying to eat here since seeing it on DDD. We live 90 minutes away and we're excited to go after shopping in Bakersfield. Service was A++, everyone was super friendly and took care of all our needs. We had our 2 year old wiggly grandson with us and they were good with him. Food was so fresh. Pineapple rice was wonderful. My husband had garlic chicken, so good. The cream cheese egg rolls were so yummy. Can't wait to come back! Nice people. With just a few more details for some of the food it would have been even better. I appreciated some of the dark meat and the texture and consistency of the orange chicken. I took some home for my wife and had to add a few things because it really merited a little extra. To the sauce I added a little mandarin zest, a little mandarin juice, a dash of tajin and garnished with a little finely minced green onion and cilantro. It just made the orange chicken so enjoyable! I could not make this chicken on my own so if they could improve the sauce I would definitely go there more. The veggie egg rolls were good. We also ordered the green curry. Unfortunately I won't order again. I'm too picky. It was ok. Just a little too much oil, salt, and way too much sugar. For example, where some places have really good green curry, one can drink the extra sauce/broth after the veggies/meat are gone. This one we couldn't. We just threw the broth away. Most places use too much salt and sugar probably either to broadly appeal to people, to be a little bit of a preservative, or to mask ingredients. It's tough to run a restaurant these days. I couldn't do it, so I understand where quality of flavor might not be the utmost importance. That's what I look for though. read more

Love this place the garlic beef is my go to dish. If I hadn't see this place on an episode of Diners, Drive ins, and Dives I would of never known it was in Taft. I live in Bakersfield and it is worth the 30 minute drive to eat here. My husband had their tempura shrimp and he said it was awesome. Along with the shrimp were some tempura carrots and zucchini, it was delicious dipped in the sweet and sour dipping sauce. Before you come here I suggest you check the hours they are open, I think it is just a lunch dinner service kinda thing. Today we were here right at 11:30 so it was kinda busy and the service was a little slow for us. But I have to say the taste and quality of the food hands down make up for it. Hands down the best Thai I've ever had! I lived in Taft for several years and got to enjoy this gem but since moving to Bakersfield I find myself longing for it and I do occasionally make the trip just to hit up Asian Experience. The food is just killer everything is perfect. The pot-stickers are just delicious and the pineapple fried rice is the best around. First time here... came on a coworker request. I dont use the word fire to describe things, but I 100% did today! I got the orange chicken medium, with fried rice and an eggroll. FIIIIIIRRRREEEE it was sooooo good. I'm not huge on spice and gave medium a try and was very happy with that decision! Two of us were waiting for two others to show up. I was set to order the pad see ew because I wanted to branch out. I told my coworker that I never order orange chicken unless I'm at panda express because I havent found one anywhere else that I've liked. Asian experience just went to the top of my list!
