Have been here a number of times since my initial review some years ago. Most recently, I came to get take out on a Monday evening. The restaurant was nearly full between inside and outside seating, and there was one woman working on fast forward to get the take out orders ready. I love Thai food but my husband has never tried it. I promised him it will be a good experience. We stopped by on a weekend and were seated immediately. The service is very fast so we had to decide right away. I ordered pumpkin curry with shrimp and my husband ordered kung pao shrimp and both came out perfect. I live in SAN MARCOS near San Diego and come up here to camp from time to time which has the best campground right on the ocean at Carpinteria State Beach. I discovered this Thai restaurant ordering DoorDash and coming in and it is absolutely delicious and better than anything I've had locally in the big city. I have they recommend trying this place. The food is absolutely delicious. So far I had the fresh rolls, the chicken potstickers, garlic and pepper, beef, and the Tom Kai soup with shrimp. Everything is absolutely delicious. They really know what they're doing here and I can't wait to come back and visit again. read more

The $14.95 lunch specials are the best deal in town, with a huge selection of entrees, which include an egg roll, wonton, and soup or salad. DOG FRIENDLY RESTAURANT The menu has a lot of food options. Service was up to par. I love the outdoor seatings. There are two cute wooden booth tables and we were lucky to be seated in one of them. They do have it outdoor heaters available. We tried the Tom Yum soup, Pad See Iew and duck curry $20.99 and Mango sticky rice. Portion size was just right. The only thing that I thought the restaurant should change is all curry come with a small bowl of rice. For a small size is $2.5 and medium was $4 and large $6. None of the curry dish come with rice which made the price for curry /rice a bit pricey. So we chose to get mango sticky rice $10.50 for dessert instead of spending it on bowl of rice. The ambiance and staff were great. The food was terrible. My husband wanted something simple so he got the veggie soup. Bland and he ended up getting diarrhea from it. So not sure how well they are washing their produce or how clean the kitchen is. I had the won ton soup. Bland but chicken was like rubber. I am not even sure it was real chicken. Won tons - I couldn't even describe what was in them. Didn't taste like chicken, more like chewing again on rubber. I left it. It was inedible. Should have asked them to take it off the bill. Response to questions: We ordered medium spicy Papaya Salad and it was bland with little to no spice. Needs more shrimp flavor, more fish sauce and a bit more sweetness. Usually, good papaya salad will have some juice at the bottom, not dry. The Tom Yum soup was not aromatic and had a strange flavor like no other I've had. I know tamarind flavor. It was lukewarm, despite the heated vessel. I'm guessing the precooked shrimp and vegetables chilled the soup to a less than ideal temperature. I counted 7 shrimp. I would at least put 8 shrimp if the dish was intended for 4 people. read more

Absolutely loved my experience here the other day! I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken and shared the cream cheese wontons with my friends and family. The dishes were so flavorful and had the most amazing spices. I loved that everything came out so hot and fresh, and they timed it perfectly to where all the dishes everyone ordered came out at the same time, so we could enjoy it family-style. I also really appreciated the kind and helpful service, as the staff really made above and beyond to ensure that they accommodated my nut allergy. They also were helpful when we asked to order some food for takeout, and brought the food out at the end so it was still hot and fresh. We have come to really love this place. My daughter and I enjoy the pad see ew with tofu -- my husband enjoys the red curry with chicken. We get the "specials" so it includes rice, salad or soup and a couple apps-spring roll, tempura shrimp -- delicious! Wonderful spot near the beach. Dog friendly sitting outside and provides heating. The Thai food is soothing to the heart. I'm not too sure what my family members get, but I always order the Chicken Pad Thai. Along with that I get a Thai Tea that's perfectly not to sweet* and Mango Sticky Rice at the end--My dad loves getting their fresh authentic beer if you'd like that. Siam Elephant has exceptionally great Thai food imo. I sat inside but almost regretted it because the outdoor seating area looked so amazing. Inside was cozy, too, though--it was very clean and inviting. The service was super fast and I noticed that the staff all seemed to be working so well together, like they had a great system and communicated with each other so well. I really wanted to like this place because of the raving reviews but unfortunately, I did not enjoy my food that I got. I do want to say how cute their outdoor seating is. I love the vibe that this place gives along with the ocean breeze. We were seated promptly and my bf and I both got the lunch special. The lunch special comes with your choice of either soup or salad and we both got the soup. The soup was sadly warm borderline cold, but it was pretty flavorful. Though, the bowl was soo small. Yellow curry with rice: I was expecting a bigger portion of rice with curry just because the curry to rice ratio was soo drastic. If you can see the picture, the rice is sooo tiny compared to the curry. I only took 3-4 bites of rice along with curry and it was gone leaving me with 3/4 of the curry still leftover. The flavor of the curry also was too sweet for my taste. The egg roll and fried dumpling were also cold meaning they probably left it out for a long time and it's not fresh. Pad Thai: the noodles were chewy and the flavor was alright in my opinion. My bf had the same problem with the temperature of his food. The service was also lacking. We never got checked on after we placed our order and it took them a long time to bring us our check back. Overall, this place just did not do it for me considering how there are much better Thai restaurant options elsewhere around the area. read more

For end of springs, we decided to visit a not so obvious beach town right next to Santa Barbara. Carpinteria is offers perfect mix of beach, relaxation atmosphere.
