I saw they only have 3.7 stars on Yelp and I really like this place so I thought I'd leave a 5 star review. I have been here at least 10 times and I've always liked the food, it's fresh and consistent with good service. I particularly LOVE the fresh mango dessert when they have it. And I love that it's open every day, which is most appreciated, especially on Mondays and Tuesdays when other places are closed. read more

My boyfriend and I went here for a date night, and the food was delicious. He got the pad thai with chicken, which was alright for me. I got the drunken noodles with pork which was so good and flavorful. I would come back for the drunken noodles! The service was also good. read more

Their food is really yummy and everyone I've encountered has been polite and helpful.

Finally stopped in for dinner and had a great meal. Food was very tasty & service was beyond friendly. Casual & clean with a fun vibe. I'll be back! read more

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered broccoli beef and Bangkok noodles. The food was good, not exceptional, but perfect for a night when you don't want to cook. We saw quite a number of customers coming to pick up takeout. The broth of the Bangkok noodles was a bit tangy/sour, which isn't totally my jam, but it wasn't bad. I don't think I would order it again. The restaurant is very comfortable and clean. I'm sure we'll be back again when visiting our daughter in SB. read more

There weren't too many people there so it was pretty quiet. For drinks we ordered the Thai Iced Tea with tapioca pearls, green tea, and lemonade. As appetizers we got the Crab Cheese and Fried Spring Rolls. For main dishes, we got the Panang Curry with shrimp and white rice on the side and the Drunken Noodles with Chicken. We even ordered the Fried Banana as dessert. All in all, food was great, place was clean, but I think they should have more than one server in order to fully attend people. read more

I am a student and I really really like this place - a lot! Everyone inside is kind and welcoming, I usually order online & during lunch time. It's usually not too busy and calm inside when I visit. It's enjoyable I wish to sit down sometime inside. When I arrive my food is always packaged nicely and ready to go for me. I feel comfortable going here and the food is really good! My go to is the yellow curry with some spice to it. When I'm sick (or in great health) I always turn to this meal. It's well worth the visit. Ordering online is easy but those who are working there are glad to help you. read more

Not sure why this place has a 3.6. It's absolutely delish! Super flavorful and friendly staff. We ordered tom ka, pad Thai, green papaya salad, and green curry. Absolutely delicious. The rice was also so fluffy. Food came out fast too. They even asked about peanut allergy and vegan vs vegetarian options. read more

This was a go-to spot for me and my roommates, they loved the crab rangoons and I appreciated the flexibility for vegan options! It's in a convenient location with friendly staff! read more

As long as we learned which dishes are our favorite, we stick with them.. Bangkok noodles is mine and Padthai, crab cream cheese are his things. I got hooked up into this Bangkok noodles bowl this year. I came back 4 times within 3 months I used to love their three flavors fish dish and scallops dish too, but there are no longer on the menu. Restaurant is small space but very well decorated, clean and neat. Not too loud on the weekend while we visited.(We got lucky, I think ). Service is just exceptional. Perhaps somewhat the need of more attentive to bring up guests' dine experiences and memoriable time to spread the words. read more

Wonderful food, and excellent service. we particularly like the pad Thai and the sizzling platter. it would help for them to have some sound absorbing materials on the wall to make conversation easier. read more

This was the worst pad thai i've ever had. It lacked flavor & was watery. It had like 3 bean sprouts. There were no shredded nuts put on top. The restaurant kinda smelled bad. The portion sizes were really small. The service was quick though, that was the one good thing. read more

The person who says is owner is VERY rude. I usually pay with cash on tip and forgot my wallet ONE time. I came back today and they are making me order my food, get my own things and I asked for a water. I was wondering why is he doing that to me while other people on the table are getting their stuff served. His answer? "Because they tip." I was baffled when I heard that come out of his mouth. 1) A tip is NOT required. I forgot my wallet ONE time and now he says I won't be served like any customer because the ONE time I did not tip? He's basing one scenario and now treating me less? How rude and disrespectful is that. 2) I was going to tip in cash today, now forget about that. IVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS IN MY ENTIRE TIME COMING TO EAT. I've been going to the Mesa location for years. The Goleta location is TRASH. I'M NEVER COMING BACK. read more

awful experience. i went with my friend after school, seeing as it's so close to campus. my friend had been there before for takeout but never dining. upon waiting for the server, we noticed that he was picking his nose so my fiend told him about it as he spoke with us. he went to wash his hands out of respect for us (after being asked) but then returned to ask for our orders with an attitude. honestly i wanted to leave but my friend still wanted to stay so we sat and waited for our food. i ordered the chicken eggplant dish and the next day, i woke up with the worst stomach pain. this lasted a couple days after dining in the restaurant... read more

Great local Thai Café. Very limited menu what they do they do pretty well. Service is good and they're very friendly. Pat Thai is outstanding. Fried rice is amazing. read more

Consistently delicious for both takeaway and dining in. Excellent to have this place in the area!

Super fast service, delicious noodles (pad Thai, and pad see-ew) and it's not too noisy! A wonderful place to have a meal!

Friendly service. Lunch special $14 comes with soup or salad. Soup is fairly bland, has lots of cabbage. Yellow curry ordered medium spicy lacked depth of flavor, plenty of chicken. Spicy chicken basil, also ordered medium spicy was more flavorful, but simple. Chicken and a few slices of peppers. More onion, bamboo shoot, something would improve it. Portions were generous. read more

Small portion sizes for the price and not much flavor in the dishes. The restaurant's ambiance seemed nice when we came to pick up our meal. We ordered takeout and got the red curry, green curry, pad thai, and pad see ew. I found the curries to be decent, but the noodles were very bland. read more

This is a fantastic, authentic and friendly Thai restaurant. Pricing is reasonable and they're super welcoming whenever I come in. I often stay at the hotel next door and walk over to pick up take-out. It's high quality food, but be warned, the "medium" is spicy! Their website is easy to order takeout on, and every time I pick it up they're so friendly I wish I was staying to dine in! read more

I stopped for lunch during a week-day. The restaurant is not busy, but it's seemingly difficult to get a server to the table to acknowledge that I'm here. A gentleman to my right is sitting patiently to place an order as well. Is five minutes too long for a basic greeting? Gone in six. This not a review about the quality of the food, which has been good in the past. read more

Our server was amazing, I just wish the food was more tasty. My friend and I ordered the panang curry with rice, pad see ew, and pad thai. There was something interesting about the flavor of the pad thai. It did not taste like how pad thai normally tastes, and I've been to so many thai restaurants. The pad see ew was on the saltier side, and didn't have that sweetness that pad see ew typically has. The panang curry was okay, but had an interesting after taste that I think was from the coconut milk. The thai tea also had the weird after taste and got it with the coconut milk. Our server was very nice and I would totally go back because of him, but unfortunately their food did not satisfy my thai food craving. read more

Friends and I went to eat for lunch here just due to location convenience. Half of us ordered ahead and the others ordered inside. They refused to let us sit inside since everyone didn't order in (cafe was empty entire time we were there) For those of us who ordered takeout- no utensils or napkins were included. I ordered Pad Thai and the noodles were very bland and overall flavor was lacking for everyone's order too. For those who chose to order in person, it took 40 minutes to get it. I recommend eating elsewhere and just driving further for good Thai food. read more

SADLY, THIS WILL BE MY LAST TIME: Pros: Friendly staff. Clean venue. Diverse menu. Fresh. Great flavors. Cons: 1. Their to-go menu clearly states that "above dishes served with steamed rice. Brown rice $1 extra." ...Well, when you order almost $100 worth of food they now ask you to pay $1 for rice (or any kind). That's a super small rice by the way. 2. When I came to grab my food, there were (2) very tiny containers of white rice. I mentioned that I paid for (4) orders of rice. They tried to say that the super tiny containers were actually x2 "large." -Maybe large for toddler portions, was my thought. I paid for that extra rice when I shouldn't have, because it says it's supposed to be included (see photo). I did NOT get brown rice, so why the extra fee? Thai food is really mainly designed to be eaten over rice, so it should be included (like their menu states). That's really false advertising. 3. They ask you if you want to leave a tip when you call-in your order. Trust me, I'm a huge proponent of leaving people epic tips when the service is great...and I do this often. But it's super awkward to be asked on the phone. It puts people on the spot and sort of makes them feel obligated. 4. Small portions for relatively high prices. I've always enjoyed this restaurant in the past, but I feel that they are now nickel and dining me and you pay so much for each item + extra rice as well. I sadly won't be going back. Trust me...super sad about this. I hope they learn from this as I do enjoy their food, as does my family. read more

After a weekend of Glamping at El Capitan,we found Meun Fan. A little worried at first thinking it might be a westernized version of Thai food. It turns out my worries were unnecessary. There was no wait time.Service was fast for hungry tourists like us. The crab cheese(Rangoon) was crispy and fluffy. Not oily. The curry noodle was slightly Smokey, savory and chewy sweet . The combination fried rice was a bit sticky.air could do with more shrimp and less chicken though. The fried fish was a surprise. Lightly battered but crispy. The fish was perfectly seasoned and the sweet chili sauce did not overpower the fish. It was so good, we ate the whole thing. It was a perfect lunch. Time to head home. read more

We had stopped for dinner on our way to Valencia, wonderful plating, great tasting food and the food arrived quite fast. We had ordered Pa-nang Pork, White rice, Drunken Noodles with fried Tofu, Spicy fried rice with chicken and Thai Iced Tea for 4 of us. The only bit lacking was the quantity of Drunken Noodles (good for 1 person) and then we had to wait for the waiter to order another white rice and for the check - perhaps due to the fact that only one person was serving all customers and he probably thought we had placed our order fully at the start - a little inconvenient but didn't mind it at all and recommend you to try out this place. We did get our water glass replenished from time to time. Ambiance was clean, and it's a small place - we were there just when the restaurant opened at 5pm, so we were seated immediately. read more

I'm always so surprised that this place has such low reviews because it is my go to place for Thai food in SB! I'm pretty particular with Asian food and I've tried a few other Thai places in SB and they don't match up to the food at Meun Fan. My usual order is the Pad See Ew with beef, always a favorite, and the Pad Thai, which is also fire, but today I got the Kai Kua which is definitely part of my top 3! Other than noodles, I've gotten the Yellow Curry which is perfectly sweet and mildly coconutty. I tried the Fried Tofu today which was crispy on the outside, but super moist on the inside. Whether it's for takeout or dine in, Meun Fan is definitely worth a try!! read more

Recently moved up from Ventura and we tried a few dishes, namely: drunken noodle, curry fried rice, and spicy eggplant. We ordered in the restaurant to-go and overall the service was polite, quick, and the restaurant itself was very clean, neat, and minimal. The food came out within the quoted time. The prices weren't bad but the portions were slightly smaller than we are used to and that night the dishes were made very oily. The noodle wasn't as flavorful as I'm used to, the fried rice was good but dry, and the egg plants was perfectly tender but just covered in oil and lacking in basil or spice. Overall, average experience perhaps we'll try again and catch them on a less oily night. read more

My family loves Meun Fan Thai Cafe and it's our go to our in Goleta. Our regular orders are the spicy drunken noodles, chicken pad Thai, pineapple fried rice with shrimp, red curry with white rice, and the Thai iced tea tea or Thai coffee. We order here at least once a month. It's a consistent food experience and "fairly priced" (caveat is "fairly priced" is a laughable concept when discussing food prices to non California residents. I.E. When you've come to accept it is normal to pay $20 for hamburger for lunch, your "That's a good price" filter is definitely blurred) read more

Came here for lunch. I ordered the lunch special (just under $10 for an entree with soup or salad) Spicy Eggplant and Tofu, and opted for the soup of the day, which was the vegetable soup. The soup was light; could've been more flavorful. I really enjoyed the eggplant/tofu, the flavor and spice was good without being overbearing. Presentation was nice as well. I would definitely recommend ordering a lunch special from here; it's a great food for a great price! read more

Food was just ok. I don't care to pay for food that is expensive so long as I'm satisfied. However here their spring rolls were so small, lacked flavor and was overly peppery and hella expensive! 6 tiny ones for $8.95!!! What? We didn't even finish them. The Pad see ew was sub-par. I asked for soy sauce to try to enjoy them. Listen here - I'm Asian and I'm all about authentic flavors. This isn't one of them. It's ok, wasn't nasty but I ain't coming back...just saying. read more

I didn't like their version of Larb and surprised that it only came in the Chicken variety.. it seemed inauthentic and quite "westernized" (sliced carrots!?). But they happily (without me even asking) removed it from the bill, which I greatly appreciated. Their Tom Ka Gai was good, and I was delighted they offered an individual portion as opposed to only a group-size portion. I wish more places did this with more dishes so that you can still go by yourself and enjoy a few diff dishes without dropping $30. I was majorly surprised (disappointed) that they didn't have sticky rice or som tum (papaya salad). But service was really good so I'm still giving four stars. read more
