Place is clean, decor is a bit hodge-podge with remnants of Quizno's from almost a decade ago. Servers are nice, by Asian restaurant standards, they are actually very nice. Food is good for Santa Barbara, expensive for proportion, but it is Santa Barbara. I imagine the lease and cost of goods is expensive. Best. PHO! I discovered this place when I did a Costco run this weekend and why am I just now finding out about this restaurant?! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the #1 combination pho and the shaken beef. Omg. Sooo good. The pho was so flavorful and rich I can't wait to go back. Nam was my server and he was nice and attentive. He was the one who recommended the pho and beef and I'm glad I asked. This place is an authentic Vietnamese Pho joint, run by real Vietnamese cooks using genuine Vietnamese ingredients. It's always busy, seating is tight and cosy, just the place to go to sit hunched over a steaming bowl of your favorite Pho. Noisy, bustling atmosphere, just how it should be, and is in-country. The Pho broth is exceptional, the first thing to taste before you do anything with seasoning. They supply ample amounts of basil, lime, pepper, bean sprouts, and sauces, but please taste the broth before you use those so you don't ruin the delicate flavor. Had the P1 Pho Combination. Amazing broth with the right amount of umami flavor and generous portions of meat, tendon, and meatball. Strong portions of small-size rice noodles. At other local pho places, I usually order an extra portion of rice noodles because I love noodles. NOT HERE! Great portions. Ñam was my server and he was friendly, cordial, accommodating and grateful for my patronage. He definitely did not take my visit for granted. I went mid-afternoon (2:00 pm) so place was pretty empty which is expected for the time of day. Despite not being peak time, the customer service was still awesome.
