Still my fav Thai place. The menus looked new/redone but they still had our favorites, Papaya salad & yum woonsen Thai spicy. They use the fresh Thai peppers to make it spicy. Their pigs in a blanket is good and the shrimp is thick. The pad Thai noodles were chewy so wife finished it bc she loves chewy noodles. The seafood in the pad Thai was fresh and I liked how they just gave me the 1/2 muscle in the shell so I don't have to pry it open. Tried this spot while in Santa Barbara, but the food missed the mark. My husband ordered the wings, chicken satay, and yum woon sen(glass noodle salad), wings were overly salty, chicken satay was just okay, and the yum woon sen lacked flavor compared to other Thai spots I've been to. My daughter got the chicken noodle soup (similar to pho), but it was bland and came without condiments, we had to ask for lime and seasonings, and there was no fish sauce or sriracha provided. I ordered the beef pho, which tasted just like the chicken since they use the same bland broth. Service started off good, but at the end we waited a long time just to get the bill, my husband even had to go find someone to check us out. Parking is in the back, and you enter through a back door into a very old building that smelled unpleasant. Honestly, had I known that, I wouldn't have picked this place. My family and I traveled for my son's graduation and I wanted to take everyone to lunch. They were able to accommodate 18 of us last minute and the food was amazing! There wasn't anything on the menu that lacked flavor, the portions were good, and prices were very reasonable! We tried the chicken teriyaki place with veggies and subbed fried rice for the side, wonton soup, and yellow curry for the husband. The chicken teriyaki was a subtly sweet sauce, chicken wasn't as tender as I love but the fried rice was perfect. The yellow curry was a 7/10 for my husband. The wonton soup was decent but was missing something. Maybe it was the broth that could've been better. The service was quite amazing. We had a very sweet and personable waitress who was attentive, pleasant and easy to talk to. I must admit the ambiance was a little weird to us and the lighting could've been better. We almost turned around when we saw the "front door"--a beat up wooden door with no glass with a hand lettered sign saying "Main Door". We were too hungry to go elsewhere, and glad we stayed. Although restaurant was dark and rather dingy, food was high quality. Fresh rolls were fresh, stuffed with veggies and tofu, and came with two dipping sauces, both excellent. Was taking my youngest back to school and wanted to try either Thai or Vietnamese and settled on Yummy Thai due to its stellar reviews. They didn't disappoint as the food was very well crafted with nice flavor balance complimented with fast and friendly service. I went with the Pork Entree in garlic sauce which of course features excelllent flavor quality and the right amount of garlic flavor and spice. The Crab Rangoon was amazing and the spring rolls were pretty good...I just have a preference for the Vietnamese style rolls but solid nonetheless. read more

Some might find it weird, but I really look forward to the caddy of 4 hot sauces at Thai restaurants. Unfortunately the caddy has gone missing from most of the restaurants in SF Bay Area. So when I saw it on a table, as I entered this restaurant, I knew it was going to be a great experience. And I wasn't let down. Food was fantastic. And spicy ! So be cautious when deciding on spice level. Chef had used ginger liberally in Prig Khing Curry, which had an excellent zing. The curry base was delicious. Drunken noodles was tasty but mild which helped tamper the spiciness from Prig Khing Curry. Yellow curry with chicken got a nod of approval from kids. Portion sizes are big. We have been once before and the food was really good. We tried a couple more options this time. First, just to let you know, once you park, the entrance leads you through the rear part of the restaurant, then has you walking around the kitchen, to the front area where you may order or be seated. The place is clean and has a nice aroma upon entering. The bathrooms are clean and fresh. The service was very friendly and the gentleman even allowed my wife to check the order's accuracy on the screen prior to sending it to the kitchen. Now, onto the menu choices. I ordered the sweet & sour shrimp which was cooked perfectly, tasty, and full of vegetables ! Thai sweet & sour texture is definitely more loose, but doesn't compromise on flavour. Wifey's Sweet & Sour chicken was also made well. Branching out, we decided to try the BBQ Ribs and the Shrimp in a blanket. The ribs were big and so meaty ! They offered 6 ribs in a platter, which was a lot !! The sauce was amazing having a nice, balanced smokey start with a light, sweet finish. Shrimp in a blanket was their take on shrimp wrapped in a wonton with a sweet dipping sauce. It had a great crunch, then a hearty bite from the juicy, large shrimp. I think Yummy Thai is yummy! I love their $10.95 lunch specials. My favorite is the chicken with garlic sauce. The staff is friendly and service is prompt. There is lots of seating in the spacious dining room. The main entrance is in the back and there is plentiful free parking. We were in Santa Barbara for the weekend and had a sudden craving for Asian Cuisine. There weren't a lot of options in the area so we gave Yummy Thai a try. It was at night and the parking lot was dark except a green neon sign saying OPEN. We walked in and to our surprise it was empty. There were more employees there than customers. The nice server sat us down and poured us two glasses of water. My girlfriend ordered the Pad Thai and I ordered the Pad See Ew. At this point, our expectations for the food was really low. Our food came out and I took a bite of the broccoli in my Pad See Ew and was like 'huh?' It tasted AMAZING. Maybe it was just the broccoli right? Ate a forkful of the noodles. "WHOA". My girlfriend ate some of her pad thai and was like "WHOA". Every bite of the noodles was just a flavor bomb waiting to be dropped. Just flavor, bam! Flavor, bam! I usually go crazy with the chili jam or soy sauce but these dish didn't need it. Whoever was cooking back there knows how to make food taste good. This could easily be my favorite Thai Restaurant of all time.That's how good it was. The restaurant started to fill in and it was livelier than when we started to walk in. This is probably the best Thai food in the Santa Barbara area now. High quality ingredients. A variety of flavorful sauces and options. The lunch menu is amazing. You can get so many different choices of food prepared in many different ways. Every variety I have tried has been delicious. Some of my favorite preparation varieties: Prig Khing Curry, Rama King, Egg Plant Sauce, Cashew Nut, Garlic Sauce. And be sure to try the duck! The service is excellent and attentive. My husband and I are big fans of Thai food So we noticed Yummy Thai opened in Old Town Goleta a must try as we are close to that area. Who doesn't like a great drunken noodle dish, and I am a fan of curry. We also wanted to have two friends join us. We ordered take out: Drunken noodles with chicken, drunken noodles with shrimp, green curry with shrimp, and Tom Kha. The order was ready quickly and was accurate but where were the wonderful Thai flavors? All the dishes were almost to the point of bland. Very little spice. Thank goodness they did put in a couple sides of spice but still not enough we had to add our own spice from home. This is the first time I have ever had Thai food without a great Thai spice kick. It's been difficult finding great such Thai food at decent prices here in SB. And while the drive to old town isn't ideal, they have a dedicated parking lot which helps. Come for lunch and get their specials and don't skip the spicy sauces. The prik nam pla (?) is the best I've ever had. I always ask for a few to-go sauce containers to go with my leftovers. Thai food, one of my favorite cuisines!! A coworker had recommended this establishment to me and friend requested a dinner date and I got lucky because he wanted Thai food. There's ample parking behind the restaurant which I a big plus because Hollister is a busy street. There's two entrances, parking lot and Hollister entrance. There's plenty of seating and the restaurant is spacious and clean~decor Asian inspired. We were greeted warmly by the waiter and seated promptly, orders taken, food delivered all timely. I ordered the Yellow chicken curry. The flavor was amazing. You can taste all the different notes to it but most importantly, the coconut milk. In past Thai restaurants I've dined in the base of the soup have been too watered down, but not this one. It was so flavorful. This place will be a redo.
