We drive from Bakersfield to eat here. The food is excellent. This time. I ordered the pineapple rice and my husband ordered drunken noodles. He's crazy and get a high level of four. The staff is always extra friendly. Bathroom is nasty and it really smells and there's definitely some water damage in there so hold it if you can.

I wanted to do something special for my 300th review. I was driving from Sacramento to Bakersfield, and this place was about 45 minutes out of the way, but hey... Guy Fieri said that it was worth the side trip. It definitely was. It looks very unassuming on the outside, and the inside is a relatively small space . It looked a lot bigger on TV. Everybody was very friendly. As usual , when I visit a " Triple D " place , I want to try what Guy had. I ordered the lunch portion of the pad Thai. it came with an egg roll, and a bowl of chicken soup with cabbage. The eggroll was fantastic, not greasy at all, and the chicken soup was very good. I liked the broth, and there were plenty of goodies inside. I especially liked the pad Thai. I had it with chicken. I asked for it with very little spice, and that's what I got. I noticed that there was just a tiny bit there. There was plenty of good flavored chicken, and it was nice and tender. The noodles and the bean sprouts were very good, and I loved the sauce. The tamarind made it sweet, but not overly sweet, and the peanuts gave it a great crunch. Because it was a lunch portion, it didn't look that big. It was. I had enough to take with me for a nice dinner as well. The price was very reasonable. I would gladly make another side trip to Taft just to eat here again. Thank you!

Friends of mine said this place was The Bomb! We decided to try it and we don't agree. We ordered everything with medium spice. Ordered the Tum Yum Chicken soup which was ok. Not very spicy, a little bland, but decent. The Orange Chicken was really good, I'll definitely order that again. Also ordered the Pad Kee Mao with beef. This one was a big disappointment. It looked fabulous!! But it had NO flavor at all! The beef, no flavor. The noodles, no flavor. I took it home to add some spice to it at home. No way I was eating no flavor noodles, just to eat. The place is located in an older building that has lots of charm to it. Way bigger inside than it looks from the outside. There was an older gentleman, that worked there or owned the place, sitting at the bar scrolling through his phone with the volume so loud we could hear it LOUDLY at our table. Seriously!?! Very rude. Headphones or earbuds have been invented for just this particular setting. Not sure this is the place for flavorful Thai food. Orange Chicken, yes. That's about it.

So I'd never heard of this place but since I was in town my buddy decided to introduce me to "the spot." First off I noticed the sign outside with Guy saying this was a triple D spot. Walking in we were immediately greeted and seated. Drinks and menus were brought shortly there after. Looked over the lunch deals and decided on the orange chicken which comes with white rice and potstickers appetizers. It came with more but we tore in to them once they hit the table. Our lunch also came with 2 egg rolls which didn't survive long enough to snap a pick. So apparently I was warned ahead of time that they ask you what heat level you'd like your order depending on your choice, I personally like spicy but didn't know what to expect based on the warning that was issued to me. I asked for medium heat but if I go stain I'll order spicy. What can I say. I like the heat. Orange chicken was full of flavor and more than enough sauce to coat all the pieces on my plate! Overall a good experience, I'd like to try some other items on the menu, price wasn't bad at all and service was great!

I think it is a good option if you are in the area. There aren't a lot of choices. The service was friendly and the food was ok. The Pad See-Ew was the best of our order. The Tom Kha Gai was okay but had a lot of filler vegetables which some folks might enjoy. My Rad Nar was okay. I learned the "gravy" is a cornstarch sauce with little body. The noodles themselves were good.

I had the spicy beef and broccoli with chow mein Noodles and an order of cream cheese rolls. Usually the food is worth the price but I don't know if it was because they were busy but my plate wasn't the same portion it usually is and they gave me regular beef instead of spicy beef I only had 3 piece of broccoli :(

In Taft for work and looking for someplace other than fast food restaurants to feed my face. A local recommended Asian Experience so I plugged the address into gps and was there in two shakes of a lamb's tail. Upon walking in, you get a quaint family feel and a cheerful greeting. The right wall is exposed brick and I loved that look. The smells that filled the restaurant perked my appetite up and without much hesitation I ordered the Pad Thai. I surely was not disappointed. While it might not have visually appeared to be as delicious as some of the other Pad Thais I have dominated, it certainly was tasty. Especially the tofu! Tofu can be tricky all the way around, but they are on their game here! It was crispy enough on the outside, soft on the inside, and the flavor was deep and extremely delicious. The same for the noodles. Very authentic and SO incredibly tasty. My co-worker ordered chicken chow mein and it was absolutely beautiful when brought to the table. A lovely mix of appetizing noodles, vegetables, and chicken. Our lunch was delicious, I was highly impressed and so glad that it was recommended. If you ever find yourself in Taft, please check it out!

I may have tried every dish in this restaurant. I don't think I've ever found anything I disliked. I prefer healthier options though, so my favorite dish for the past five years or more has been the fried mixed veggies with chicken or shrimp. It does not have that sweet of a flavor which is what I prefer, there are so many veggies in this dish. This meal is definitely my all-time favorite to eat anywhere. And the owner is always extremely friendly. read more

Our Asian Experience was not what we were expecting. I can't remember dealing with anything like this before. Our server was unbelievably rude and the food was not edible - and overpriced. We weren't able to get any help with the menu and ended up getting noodles to eat with our rice. It took an eternity to get our food and another eternity to get our dishes and utensils. I knew something was wrong while waiting.. I picked out a sliced carrot from the Tom Kha Gai and almost spit it out - I couldn't taste the carrot over the salt. I finally went to the counter to ask for two bowls and two spoons and our server told the worker behind the counter not to give it to me, that she'd take care of it. Then (in no hurry) she eventually brought us one bowl and one spoon! The chicken in the soup tasted "off" - maybe the salt was used to extend its life. After waiting another unusual amount of time, our pad thai arrived, but we had no plates or forks. Again we had to ask our rude server and again it took forever. Unfortunately the pad thai was mushy and also salty. I'm surprised we didn't get food poisoning.. Needless to say, I don't think we'll be returning to this restaurant again. read more

Meh. I mean. If you're gonna spray paint Guy Ferrari's face on your institution, you have to realize that they're making bad decisions here. Food was ok. And by ok I mean edible. I didn't get sick! Which was what I was expecting! So I'm pretty amazed. For Taft, this place is aces. I might even go back. read more

This is the BEST place to eat in Taft California. The waitresses are very nice and polite and helpful. The food is to die for. It's a quiet place with a bunch of tables and people at every one. The owner and her husband are nice people who like to talk to the customers to see if they are happy with their food and drinks and if there are any complaints they do their best to remedy them. I completely without a doubt recognize this place of business. read more

how the hell are you gonna let a "cook" tell you you cant have shrimp or what YOU WANT BECAUSE SHE CANT COOK WHAT YOU WANT properly! I ordered garlic shrimp dish with calamari and shrimp which was supposed to have bell peppers etc on a bed of cooked b. I spit it out and I love shrimp.e broccoli I ordered the must curry dish with shrimp and calamari only to have the White return and tell me I could take yo Someone else. I could not get a different dish with shrimp because the shrimp is going to be cooked the same?! If you go to establishment and you tell them medium and they bring it to raw what the hell kinda inexperienced chef situation you have steak because I don't know how to cook it the way yoI'm going to cook it the way that I am going to cook it so you need to get something different?! I am not a fan of asian food to begin with, seeing that I grew up eating it a lot. Asian Experience was good, like pretty good. However, some dishes that I got were okay. They didn't have the flavors mentioned in their menu. Got the garlic delight - chicken. No taste of garlic whatsoever. Only thick sweet sauce that masked everything. Little broccoli. Chicken was small pieces - so nothing too extravagant. BF got the chow mein, shrimp - huge portions with lots of shrimps. The flavors were there and the dish was overall decently better than the garlic delight I got. For the area, this place is definitely a nice little family ran joint to visit. My only issues was that some of the dish flavors were not there and didn't really match it's look and taste. Would I come back? maybe, if I was in the area looking for asian food. read more

Asian experience is a must whenever in Taft, ca. I stop by everytime. The service is good. During lunch it gets really busy for this small spot, but the food is amazing. I alway order the beef pad see ew, it's not on the menu but it's delicious. Their eggrolls are the best eggrolls I've ever tasted. This place is a must!!! read more

Asian Experience is no joke! What other place can you get some incredible Thai food AND incredible pizza? This is truly a worthy place to spend your money. Their pad thai is awesome, so is the chow mein. I've had a double cheese pizza that blew my mind (I legit ate it until I was so full my tummy hurt and still had no regrets). I've also had two with an assortment of veggies on top, and the ingredients were all fresh and wonderful. The veggie eggrolls are so good you'll have no problem stuffing your face, and if you're feeling spicy I strongly suggest getting an order of the jalapeno cream cheese eggrolls. De. Li. Cious. The service is great! The owners are awesome people with a positive outlook on life, and their happiness is contagious! There are rumors they want to sell this place and live in Thailand permanently, and if that's the case then I wish them well but I just don't want it to change! The inside of the restaurant is definitely nothing to write home about (let's be honest, most businesses in Taft are this way), but it is clean and welcoming. Kind of small, but not to the point of feeling cramped. You won't be let down by anything you order here. A coworker of mine loves the seafood pizza and I can attest that when she heated it up at work, my mouth was watering. Another coworker of mine, who is also a Taft local, swears she could eat there every single day and never get sick of it. If you're worried it isn't worth the drive out from Bakersfield, DO IT. You won't be disappointed! But please call first. I tried to go Tuesday and was disappointed to see that they were closed the entire week of 7/23-7/28. I had an office full of disappointed, hungry people. read more

Asian Experience in Taft, CA is now a 5 star destination in my opinion! I heard that Guy Fieri of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives Fame was here twice recently. I told my wife so we returned here to see if they had become even better. Answer is Yes!! All the entrees we had were even better than before!! From the Pad See Ew to the Crab fried rice to the Thai Seafood Pizza, it was all yummier than the past! Had to raise their rating to 5 stars because of that. For terrific Thai food, a stop here is worth the trip! Their sign outside is now working! It blinks on and off which catches your attention during the evening. Highly recommend giving them a try! read more

Full disclosure: I haven't had anything but the Pad Thai. I've been numerous times, but I can't stop ordering it because it's so good and delicious. I want to try some of the other options, but every time I go in, I start to crave the blend of flavors they create with their Pad Thai. Nice atmosphere, great service. Based on the food, it's 5 stars. But I just wish it was a bit less expensive. read more

Best Asian persuasion in town. Their curry, panang in particular is awesome. Although the owner hates to be requested "less spicy, when she does do it, and the dish has cooled down a lil bit... OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD. rice comes with it and it's a healthy portion. Their apps are great, haven't had the pizza but I've been told it's really good too. read more

Great food. Thai food pizza, very interesting but I loved the garlic chicken pizza with Alfredo sauce. love how you can get stuff spicy here more ham most places. If you ask for it hot, your nose will feel it. I've liked everything I have had here, orange chicken, curries, pineapple fried rice, everything delicious. The place can get packed because the food is good but they do a good job keeping things flowing. read more

If you like hot good food you try Asian experience that place is one of the hardest Chinese food places I've ever eaten Korean places but really good taste really good flavor on their food all the kids I've always got the broccoli and beef and noodles with the vegetables amazing I can probably eat that five days a week really good prices and really care about their community read more

The star is for the food only...if for the experience / service, there would be negative stars. This is actually also my first negative review on Yelp ever (it's not usually worth the effort for me if I have a bad experience I just don't come back). I'm writing this only to help others and hopefully help the management realize that they have a major problem they seriously need to correct. I am from, and my family lives in this town, though I now reside in LA. When I roll into town for a visit, this is a go to place to eat for me and my family. The food is good...not the best Thai I've ever had but definitely one of the top choices for local fare. Bonus because my son has a dairy allergy and Asian food is one of the few things he can eat. We now only get carry out, because the few times we ate in, the service was so abysmally slow (and given one plate at a time - what restaurant does that?!) that we opted for take out only. Why is the service so bad? Because it appears the owner/operator is also the main chef, and she can only manage one plate at a time. But it doesn't stop there. When they are overwhelmed with the restaurant, they stop answering the phone for takeout. Knowing this, I decided to show up and place the order in person, and I was turned away. Very unceremoniously, rudely, turned away. 'We can't do take out orders until all our customers here have received their food.' Which everyone inside was hungrily waiting and very few tables were actually eating. How this place remains packed is only a testimony to the limited options for local fare and the fact that this food is above average for the area. It is by no means in direct competition with the best Thai food in Bakersfield and is only average in comparison to LA. BTW this was at 6 pm. If you know you can't keep up with orders, especially on the weekends for dinner when most people go out, wouldn't you hire more cooking staff, in some other way prep, or in some other way factor that in????? And turning away orders - seriously WTF?! A savvy alternative would be to answer the phone and say that you can take the order but it's an hour or hour and a half out and the patron can make that determination? Yeah I don't think we will be back and recommend the business get it's act together. read more

Do not order on here on yelp. They have not updated there menu. What I got should have cost me 32.00 to 33.00 dollars instead I payed 41.62 for the stuff I ordered. When asked about why so much after I got home and looked at there menu. They simply told me to bring back food and I'll get a refund. That's called false advertising. Won't order from them again. read more

Yum, yum, yum and YUM! Small, yet comfy setting. Amazing food, that's a must to try. Cooks are absolutely legit. Only thing bad is if a specific waitress isn't there, the service is a coin toss. Other than that, totally worth it. read more

Let me tell you this place is great after seeing it on diners drive-ins and dives really helped me make that choice going out there you will not be disappointed in the food there quality and their service they also have a pretty good pizza which is amazing they have a non-spicy mild and very hot and let me tell you that very hot and you will sweat..me I have to get the non-spicy is even the mild has a little kick for the next time you're out Taft California give Asian experience a try and hit they do have a great lunch special menu and they close from 2 to 4 PM read more

Well, unfortunately I can't leave a review. Today my husband and I took the trip to Taft from Bakersfield for lunch to find when we got there they were closed. There was another couple there as well from Bakersfield and yet a 3rd person that was there for lunch. We all checked the website for the hours but they were clearly incorrect. Won't even bother to make that trip again. We saw them on DDD but maybe that didn't help their business enough? read more

OHMYGOSH!!!!! If you drive through taft this is the most amazing place to eat!!! It takes a little while to get you food. But WOW OH WOW worth the wait. Everything is made fresh not setting around for hours. I call in from work letting them know when I'd be there and it will be ready. With a smile fr one of the owners cooking. Peaceful & Relaxing atmosphere. read more

Surprising to me this place was pretty damm good (especially for being in the middle of nowhere). Great service great food. I also liked the option of how hot I wanted my food when anywhere else I've never had that option (wasn't ready for that). Definitely worth checking out! We saw an episode of triple d and decided to give it try. I took the short drive over from Bakersfield, and was there before I knew it. It is a small little place located next to what looks like an auto repair shop. When we walked we were greeted by a nice waitress and sat immediately. We started off waters and an order of potstickers, my nieces favorite at any Asian restaurant. The potstickers were really tasty and fried just right. I ordered the pad see ew which is Fried Flat noodles with sweet soy sauce, broccoli, carrots and eggs and added shrimp, it was delicious and had lots of flavor! My partner had the Silver noodle stir fried, which consisted of fried glass noodles sautéed with egg, carrots, baby corn, tomato, onions, celery and green onions, which was pretty tasty and was a very generous portion. My niece had the kids menu orange chicken with steamed rice, it was simple and delicious. Overall we enjoyed our time at The Asian Experience and will definitely be back. read more

Great service, food not so great. Soft egg rolls with no taste, small portion of the ginger mushroom calamari, pot stickers over cooked served cold. This place was an ice box, so damn cold that everyone left they're jackets on including us! All the hype when DDD stopped by with Guy Fieri was totally NOT there. Trip from Bakersfield was definitely not worth the trip. read more

I wouldnt exactly say this is thai. Its more of a chinese place that happens to have some thai dishes sprinkled in. That being said, its good! The rice is always fresh the food too. They do a ton of take out and stay very busy. Portions are huge and price is good too. I would go back staff is always friendly. read more

Really the only Asian food you can get in Taft anymore. They are pricey for the amount of food you get but it is definitely delicious. It is also nice that you are able to choose how hot you want your meal. I personally like the Thai spicy and my favorite dishes are the pad Thai and the silver noodle with beef. read more

In my opinion not worth it, for people who watch Triple D with Guy Fieri just remember not everything on TV is good as you think I ordered substandard Thai Food in the Styx not worth the drive or time. If you live in Bakersfield or around Kern county this place is not worth it. Don't come here and waste your moneey read more

This place is a hidden gem and I am so glad I gave it a try! The restaurant is small but has a cool decor. They have so many things to choose from on the menu too! From stirfry, pad thai, and curry to Pizza! Yea, you heard me, Pizza! My absolute favorite dish is called Garlic delight. You can choose your meat and I always get chicken. It of course has a fresh and delicious garlic taste with tender chicken and perfectly steamed broccoli. I also love getting their chow mein with veggies! SO GOOD! They give you and option of 1 egg roll and soup or 2 egg rolls if you get a combo. Don't pass up on the egg rolls! They are awesome. Had lunch here with my family a couple days ago and the food was excellent. We can hardly wait to come back for our next gathering. The calamari was superb and the service was pretty good.
