We had the tri tip combo and brisket combo. The beans and potato salad were really good. We got a side of pork ribs. The meat fell off the bone, and tasted okay. A few reasons for only a 3 star. 1. They didn't have any hot links 2. They didn't have any beef ribs 3. Although the brisket and tri tip had a decent flavor, it was really dry 4. One of beans in the combo plate had mostly juice and nothing else. 5. The tri tip plate had only 3 pieces of meat in it. Well the smell was 100 x's better than the taste. So we got there around 6ish and I saw the sign and had really wanted to try them after seeing some post on FB. Well the young lady helping us was super nice and let us taste the coleslaw, which for me wasn't good. I'm a southern slaw person. I ordered the Tri-Tip Sandwich with Mac N Cheese. My wife got the brisket combo. Both dinners were more than $50 total. To me that was way to pricey. The order took over 25minutes to get. Way too long for something is already been cooked. Food is way more expensive than it ever was. Paid over $100 for one meal, two beef ribs and two Pepsi. Definitely the priciest barbecue in town now and it doesn't taste as good as before. As one who lives in Texas for 10 years and was exposed to great barbecue, I am one for always trying out new barbecue joints in the area. And usually I'm disappointed. This place was no exception. I remembered I tried them out when they were over off of Enos Lane and Rosedale highway when they were just starting out. Back then, their meat was really dry and in my opinion not worth the money to be spent on it. So I thought that a change of venue would help them go long and get better at their food. So as I arrived on this rainy day after doing a bunch of errands. I realize that it was kind of tucked into a pizza joint. I was greeted by the lady at the counter who (I hate to say) was kind of clueless and not really knowing what's going on In the restaurant. I asked if she had a three meat plate and she didn't know but she did say there was a two meat plate. So I tried the chicken and the brisket. I asked her about the owner and she pointed that I was right next to him. He added some ribs to my plate as a complimentary bonus. It took about 10-15 minutes and then finally my food came out. I specifically asked for the sauce on the side. Unfortunately they didn't pay attention As the ribs were slathered with the sauce. I try to bite of each of the meats and every single one of them was dry and without any flavor. The ribs were thin and not very appealing. As for the sides I ordered potato salad and coleslaw. And as usual, the potato salad was dry and Just hard to swallow and the coleslaw was adequate but not great. In conclusion, I'm not returning. I feel that the owner who does the barbecuing, needs to get better and start asking around at the local pitmasters on how to actually make great barbecue. Had to go check out the heavenly smell of oak and meat cooking. We ordered each of the combo plates. The brisket was quite good, but it was a pitifully small portion that was sliced paper thin. The beans and slaw were pretty good although again tiny portions of each. The tiny portion of pulled pork was disappointingly dry. The worst bbq spot I have ever tasted in my life it is over priced and over cooked very dry, my tri tip was crumbling in my hand instead of being a juicy consistency. My family and I went to check out the food trucks and my husband was instantly drawn to the brisket sign. While the location is beautiful and the storefront is quirky and cute, the food was definitely subpar. We spent over $50 for two meals. The tri tip and the brisket meals. The brisket had SO much fat and nerves, my husband couldn't even finish his sandwich. My daughter got the tritip and it was COVERED in bbq sauce, which we didn't think was the norm for tritip so she refused to eat it. We all tried the tritip and it was very overdone in my opinion. The portion was also tiny. They don't have a regular mac and cheese which was disappointing for my kids and the spicy mac and cheese we did get was very dry and lacking flavor. It's absolutely amazing. The couple that owns it are also amazing. Strange that I would be the first to review this spot considering how great it is. We go to bull riding practice with our boys next door and to have a spot that we get to eat at twice a week and never get sick of should tell all yelpers something. What's also awesome is they let us know if we call ahead of time and order they will hold it for us considering sometimes we don't make it until after they are already closed. We drove over 10 hours today through the whole state. We planned on stopping to eat once at the best place we could possibly find. After searching for hours we finally stumbled upon G's Texas Smoke BBQ. The pictures promising huge briskets, sandwiches spilling over with meat, and sides to die for, enticed us to try this place out. We walked up, with shit eating grins on our faces, excited to gorge ourselves with BBQ. We ended up spending $100 for 2 sandwiches and 2 meals. It was a lot of money, but we were willing to sacrifice our hard earned money for pure happiness in the form of meat. When we got our order, I was surprised to see that they had forgotten about 75% of what I thought we ordered. I proceeded to open up the bag to find 2 styrofoam trays that were our "meals" and 2 styrofoam trays that were half the size with our "sandwiches". At this point I realized we had been duped. 10+ hours of pure starvation and watering mouths, all culminated to a moment of dread that I haven't felt in years. We had been taken advantage of, cheated, lied to, betrayed, molested.... About three minutes after, we finished our mediocre appetizers that would've easily been mistaken for a PTA fundraiser luncheon put on by vegan moms. We decided to try this BBQ place, because we heard some good things about it. We heard it was expensive, but good. Personally I will never waste my money there again. We tried a tri tip sandwich meal. It came with a choice of one side, and we picked the BBQ beans. They were very soupy, and had little taste to them. The container was filled with mostly juice and hardly any beans. The sandwich was good and bad. The tri tip was good, nice and tender, but the sandwich was basically on a hot dog bun; Ridiculously small. I wanted to give this place a try, because we live close by. Unfortunately, never again. The cost was over $13 for a tiny little sandwich and watery beans. The workers inside the food truck were nice though.
