Owning a vacation rental property, I truly have nightmares about my pool heating or pool system going down because it has happened many times. Previously, fixes were not only expensive, but took a long time (parts took days/weeks) which really impacted my guests and therefore me. My pool heater just went down, and within a couple hours, Rolando had diagnosed the problem, quoted me, purchased the part, and fixed the problem. And his quote was beyond reasonable. He is the most efficient person out there, and he even responded to all of my texts and updated me throughout. He just recently built my friend's pool, and he works so quickly and efficiently with high-quality work, that this is a no-brainer. Don't even consider anyone else because it won't be worth your time. Rolando is a truly honest, hard-working, and trustworthy business man, and I'm so thankful to have him on my team.

Through my complaint to the State, I've learned he's an UNLICENSED contractor that "borrows" license numbers. For my project, he used the license for Santamargarerita Development, who said that he used it illegally. So, I'm going to court to recover money. The job started, then things stopped. He took draws, like for the pool equipment, but didn't buy any equipment. The pool he started is not the one we designed, and the work kept getting worse. He wanted $3200 to fix his error on pouring the wrong pool. He did say that he was good at tile, and when it was time to get it, he wanted me to pay for it, after I had given already him money for the tile and pool equipment. I sent him pictures of how we wanted the stonework, since he was doing something completely different. When I pointed it out and showed him the picture I sent him, he said no problem, then proceeded to do another piecemeal job, until I had him stop. After paying him nearly $70,000, seeing the wrong pool, no work for months, a project almost a year old, my backyard torn up, and ongoing messy and bad work, i gave up trying to work with him. It was ridiculous to do business this way, given the lies. So now, I've spent another $40,000 to have someone else come in, fix the errors, and finish the pool. I warn everyone, steer very clear. He appears very nice, and does not listen to what you want, my backyard was completely torn up for months, he does bad work, and takes money for things he doesn't provide. Here's a short list of examples, most I fixed or hired someone to fix: Represented as licensed, but is not. Gas and electric lines had to be separated, per city. He didn't. 240v electric circuit was missing one wire.(A $500 fix) Big gunnite piles left all over yard. (Concrete) Trash left all over. Stone work so bad we had him stop. Pool poured is not what we agreed on. Pool is above grade, making things difficult for landscaping. Spa so deep we had to add stairs. Spa jets too low and partially in seat. I dug the trenches for him. After 6-months, I filled the trenches. He failed to get electric inspection. He failed to get setback inspection. He often had work promised, and nobody showed up to do the work. New pool installer had to repipe all of the pump and water lines. Auto-fill installed too low. Water line for auto fill only a couple inches below ground and visible in spots. And more... He's offered to repay me, but I haven't seen a penny. Hence, going to court. Ugh. A total nightmare.

Before moving forward, we obtained three bids, including one from Melo's Pools and two other pool companies. While Melo's quote came in between the other two, we felt confident they would work closely with us to create our dream pool. Their detailed project timeline and professionalism gave us confidence from the start. We had already selected a glass waterline tile and needed expert guidance in choosing a pool finish that would be both beautiful and durable for years to come. Our Project Manager, Joaquin, recommended that we visit the NPT showroom in Palm Desert to explore our options. Following his expert advice, we selected a Stonescapes Mini Pebble finish in an aqua-blue color that perfectly complemented our tile choice. Throughout the demolition and remodeling process, Joaquin was always available to answer questions and provide guidance. His professionalism, confidence, and attention to detail helped ease any concerns and reassured us that our project was in capable hands. The day before demolition, Gabriel from the Melo's team arrived to drain the pool. The following morning, another crew arrived promptly at 7:00 a.m. to remove the old plaster finish and ceramic tile. That same week, Melo's tile crew installed our beautiful new glass tile and worked with us to create custom accents on the spa seating area, spa steps, and pool entry steps. Once the tile work was completed, another crew arrived as scheduled to apply the new Stonescapes Mini Pebble finish. After the finish was installed and the pool was refilled, Carlos from Melo's took over the startup and curing process. For the next six weeks, Carlos visited two to three times per week to ensure the new finish cured properly and that the water chemistry remained perfectly balanced. Carlos's professionalism, friendliness, thoroughness, and expertise in pool chemistry were truly impressive. He not only maintained the pool meticulously but also took the time to teach us how to properly care for and adjust the water once the startup period was complete. Throughout the entire renovation, Joaquin and the Melo's team maintained regular communication, ensuring that we were informed every step of the way. Every member of the team was professional, courteous, and genuinely focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience. Our newly renovated pool was delivered in perfect working order, and the results are absolutely stunning. We could not be happier with the finished product or our experience working with Melo's Pools. We highly recommend Albert Melo, Joaquin, Carlos, and the entire Melo's Pools team. We wouldn't trust any other company with our pool needs.

Here's our experience: Background: Our 20+ year old pool was in need of a facelift - the original builder had installed PebbleTec up to the coping without using tile above the waterline and so the PebbleTec was beginning to crack. We reached out to six licensed contractors sourced from Yelp, Angi's list and Thumbtack: (1) Purrfect Pools (2) Gardner Outdoor & Pool Remodeling (3) Dream Coast Builders (4) Blue Dream Pools & Spas (5) Aqua Destiny Pools (6) Luxury Pool Design & Construction. Of those six, only three (Purrfect Pools, Gardner Outdoor & Pool Remodeling, Dream Coast Builders) followed through by meeting with us and providing quotes - even after multiple follow up calls to the non- responders. Of those three who provided quotes - Only Michael from Purrfect Pools followed up to see if we had questions and he even provided regular updates and pictures of current pools that he was building or remodeling. He got the job because of this follow up. *Service*: We are so happy we went with Purrfect Pools - that same attention to first class service was carried through from the start of the project to the finish. Michael provided a really clear quote, with milestones outlined, he prepared us for the "what ifs" since it was a remodel, he professionally addressed all of our questions and he was on the ball every step of the way. His team had that same commitment to service as well. They were professional and even cleaned up after themselves after each visit. *Quality*: Check out how beautiful our pool is - the workmanship speaks for itself. Most importantly, Michael did everything by the book and made sure everything was up to current code and he took no short cuts. We are more than delighted with the outcome. *Value*: Purrfect Pool's quote was fair and in line with the other quotes. The value Michael from Purrfect Pools offers is priceless -- it is the quality of his team's workmanship, his knowledge of pool remodeling and building, his personal integrity and commitment to making sure his customer is satisfied. Without hesitation we recommend Purrfect Pools and are available to provide a reference.
