Do NOT trust Chris Good (@mcgtattoos). He's a scam artist and has been fired from multiple tattoo shops in Atlanta because he messed up on so many clients. Go to his Instagram profile and look at his work. Then go look again, but more closely this time. Zoom in and you'll see even his best work is not that clean - his details are sloppy and his line work is incredibly shaky. Now, go look at my pictures. This dude really tattooed this and actually thought he did a good job. For context, I had a handful of tattoos scattered on my left arm. I (regretfully) gave him creative freedom to help fill in the rest of my arm to create a cohesive sleeve. Sloppy. Amateur. Unprofessional. His line work is terrible, his artistic vision is terrible, and his customer service is terrible. If you ever get the unfortunate opportunity to interact with him, you'll notice he speaks as if he knows everything. He tries to keep it subtle, but he has a very arrogant, egotistical, and condescending way about him. He tries to push his preferences/ideas on you and gaslights you into thinking his vision is better than yours. Let me put it this way: He does not care if YOU like the tattoo, he only cares if HE likes the tattoo. For example, Here are some alarming snippets he himself wrote on some of his older Instagram captions: 1. "I was told you have to do the tattoo exactly as the picture, but I've learned I am a true artist and I love to create and have fun with my artwork." - July 31, 2019 ^ He prioritizes himself "having fun", rather than creating something the client envisions even if there's a literal picture in front of him. 2. "Most artists always say, 'I can't get my client to do that.' Or, 'They won't want that.' All these statements are excuses. Any client that trusts their artist will not have a problem letting you have free range." - Dec 30, 2021 ^ I understand there needs to be a certain level of trust in the artist, and sometimes a client requests may be unrealistic. But here, he is essentially criticizing other artists if they can't persuade a client to get something, even if the client doesn't want it! It just proves he really doesn't care about clients' opinions! He disregards their ideas and would rather have "free range" to do whatever HE wants. PLEASE save yourself from disappointment and regret, and stay far away from this fraud. If this dissuades even one person from being tattooed by him, I'll call that a win. Chris does not have the technical skills or competency that is up to par with Black Castle or any high-end tattoo shop. He's a wannabe professional who thinks he's some deep, philosophical thinker. I'm not sure how this guy managed to slither his way into a good studio. He needs to learn how to draw a straight line first. Or just do us all a favor and change careers. And lastly, his breath smells awful. read more

My daughter and I had a great experience with our tattoo artist ERIC at Black Castle, he was a professional and had lots of input and was an amazing tattoo artist. The location is a little far for us but worth the drive. Plenty of parking, there is not food in the plaza but there is a CVS. The decor is what you would expect but it is clean and spacious. The restrooms were clean as well. The front desk person was also informative and courteous to our needs. read more

I am extremely unhappy with the tattoo I received here by Angel. My tattoo does not look like the stencil I was promised. It is on the middle of my upper back and I couldn't see it until the deed was done. I've now spent the last 3 weeks doing laser consultations and talking to other artists on how we can fix or cover this mess. I've had other artists tell me how poor quality the tattoo is, how he overworked areas, how it is uneven, there are blow outs and I now have scar tissue from him going too deep. Mind you this is a small 4 inch tattoo and not a difficult design at all. He added white in at the last minute to try and salvage his dark design (which I specifically said I didn't want anything dark) and now I am going to have to battle the white ink with laser. He also knew I was unhappy and never reached out once. Do not go here. UPDATE: After this review, management of Black Castle reached out to me to try and make this situation somewhat better. However, what happened made my experience even worse. When I went to the shop to have a discussion they referred me to one of their artists to look at options for a possible cover up. I was open and honest about my ideas of doing laser to lighten the tattoo to get something else I would really like, but I was open to seeing what the artist Eric could do. Mind you, this was days ago and not being impatient at all, I sent Eric a photo for inspiration last night (Monday). I simply said hey there, here is another idea. Please let me know if you have any questions. Eric responded in the most unprofessional rude way. I could not believe it. Telling me I needed to "More Open." More open to what?? I had yet to see any design idea or anything. He also told me he didn't want to waste his time on me. There's much more but just know, if I were you, I wouldn't consider working with Eric either unless you want an extremely rude person doing your tattoo. This has all been such a headache and a huge waste of time. I hope everyone reads this review and understands that although this shop may have 5 star-reviews this is the real quality of care they are providing their customers. read more

Don't waste you money, or even worse your time. My artist (I think it was Josh) couldn't do the simplest of things. Couldn't or wouldn't copy a picture, couldn't take a pic of me and age it by xx years. In the end we agreed on a shamrock but since I was in the hospital I missed our appointment so he kept my deposit. It seemed to be impossible to get this guy to commit to a tattoo. I have 7 tattoos and never had a problem with an artist with such a huge attitude. In general, I would advise finding a different place. No hate on these guys and I get it that tattoo artists are big tough guys but to be unnecessarily rude and obstructive ended up losing my business. I almost never write reviews, but this one had to be written. Check the other reviews...who knows if they can tattoo well, but their attitude and general scheistyness won't even let you get to the tattooing part. read more

I don't even know where to begin with this review. This is not a bad review for Black Castle at all, I believe that the rest of the guys who work there are respectful, talented, and professional. This is only a bad review for ARACELY. In June I stumbled upon her page and was in awe of her talent. I knew I wanted her to design and tattoo a piece for me. Her booking manager reached out to me and I made an appointment for a Saturday at 12noon in July. I made my deposit and got the instructions. On that date, I showed up on time to my appointment with no communication saying otherwise from ARACELY or her manager. I sat down in the lobby and began to wait. Noon, turned into 12:30, and then around 1pm the owner Josh came over to me and asked if I had heard from ARACELY. I stated and showed him all the email communication, and he proceeded to text her. She texted back immediately saying that she was sick, wasn't coming in, and that her manager would follow up with email. I had a sour taste in my mouth, but she finally reached out to me later on Instagram saying that she had been super sick and her manager must not have emailed me to let me know. I gave her the benefit of doubt and decided to reschedule my appointment for a Saturday in August, again at noon. Again, I wait for an hour and she doesn't text/email/call and doesn't show up. So I left. I didn't hear anything for two days, and finally Monday morning, her booking manager emails me stating that ARA is dealing with something and "sometimes she is unavailable to make it to work." I understand medical issues, or personal issues, but when you make a professional commitment to a client, and that client is driving an hour to be there on time for your appointment, you have an obligation to reach out and communicate this. I believe she is talented, and Im extremely disappointed that I can't get a tattoo from her. Please be wary before making an appointment with her unless you can put up with extremely unprofessional behavior, and complete disrespect for her clients time. read more

Had an appointment set for 2pm with Aracely and she text me at 130 and said i quote "can't be at the shop till 4" i live an hour away and asked if she could maybe do 3pm since i was already in the area..her response was can u be there at 4 or not..i have been here many times and the guys are nice enough but this girl thinks she is some rock star and can treat people with disrespect,i will never visit this shop again as long as she works there..she also stole a deposit from my friend in ny when he set an appointment and she just never showed up for. UPDATE: after this review i got a call from the shop manager named Anthony,he apologized for the issue and promised he would handle it. He set me up with another artist at the shop (rob) i was moved in place of a cancellation he had and when i Arrived he was waiting for me ready to tattoo..he did a great job and i am more then impressed with the professionalism Anthony and rob showed after the issue with the other artist..they even discounted the tattoo 100 that Aracely tried to steal!!! I am getting work done by Eric at Black Castle. He is awesome at what he does and very creative. I am getting a Star Wars sleeve to cover up some other bad work i have had done over the years and it is turning out great. Eric is always responsive and available to me if needed. I have nothing negative to say about him. I did get the privilege to watch Josh Duffy work for a few hours and all i have to say is AMAZING! That guy has some real talent. If i could afford him i would have work done by him for sure. Almost every artist i have seen work there has been amazing. They are all very skilled and talented so if you are looking for a skilled artist who will work with you, this is your place. If you are looking for a cheap tattoo or 'something quick', i would keep moving. This is not a cheap place however the old saying "You get what you pay for" definitely applies here. If you want something good you are going to pay for it. The only complaint i would have would be they play death metal / heavy metal the entire time at a really loud volume. Don't get me wrong, i like that stuff however when you can't even talk to the artist the volume is so loud, it gets a little annoying. My husband and I have been going to this shop now for several years. I wrote a review awhile back but have been back in numerous times and just recently had more work done. I myself have had a leg piece done by Eric, my whole arm done by Josh, and my other arm and a cover up on my neck by Mikey. Superior talent through and through! My husband had a partial cover up and an entire huge back piece done by Josh, one leg completely reworked by Eric and is now having his other leg done by Mikey. When you have a piece reworked or covered up, the artists themselves know what is possible and what is unrealistic. They do not want to put their name, reputation, and artwork behind something that is not going to be spectacular! The whole crew there thrive on their art and perfectly executing it on all their clients. I appreciate an artist that is transparent on what they will and will not do. I would rather have the honesty than end up with an awful tattoo. So be open minded. This is their job, passion and expertise. I know I will never go anywhere else! Thanks guys! I set up an appointment with Ara that she did not show up to. I had to drive an hour for for this and she EMAILd me 15 min before i left. It is 2020, who still only communicates via email? After reaching out she simply read my messages and did not respond. If you have a history of cancelling i'm not sure why you don't have a dm/whatsapp/etc to communicate these changes. My time is worth more than any many i was going to spend on a tattoo, and for a full leg sleeve that's a good amount of money. The shop itself is very nice and they guys there seemed cool, probably better of scheduling something with them, Ara is unreliable and has terrible customer service. read more

Recently got a leg piece done by Rob from Black Castle and I am blown away by the amount of detail that he put into my tattoo. Before I got the tattoo I went into the shop to tell him by idea and some concerns I had about it. Not only was he very approachable but he immediately became very enthusiastic about my idea and started drawing little doodles on sticky notes to show me how my concerns would not be a problem, so I made an appointment with him. Once I saw the finished drawing my jaw fell to the floor, it was everything I asked for put in a way that was 100x better then I could have ever dreamed. During the tattoo session he was kind, honest, and truly in his element. You could tell that he was meant to tattoo. Throughout the session the other artists would come over and ask if I needed anything and were equally as pleasant as Rob. The final piece was even better then the drawing and I'm proud to have this art on me forever. I would recommend Rob and any of the employees at Black Castle to anyone looking for a perfect tattoo. I've gotten a few tattoos so far and Mikey is a good as you can get. I went in on New Years eve knowing what I want. Not knowing it was Mikey I started looking through the portfolios and found that Mikey does American Traditional. Perfect that's the style I love. I ask him when we can start this piece and luckily I get scheduled for the 3rd just a few days later. 3 hours later I get the cleanest tattoo of my life and the face he did on this girl is beautiful.
