I had been asking people about their tattoos and all shared about 1st tattoos and latest ink done. They all had "a guy" they returned to again and again. But one acquaintance shared with me what he had been getting done with crediting Diamond Hinkley at Iron Key with glowing praise for realizing the vision my friend wanted. No one else had. So I reached out to Diamond and he made time for me quickly -- I finally deciding on my first tattoo at age 60. Diamond was friendly, personable and enthusiastic about what I was wanting to have done in the first minute of meeting with me. He gave great advice to me in finalizing how he would use the image I provided to render the tattoo. Diamond used his artistic talent to elevate the 2-dimensional image I provided to almost a 3-dimensional rendering that is so much more appealing. I really love my tattoo! It's beautiful and precisely placed where I asked for it. He invited me to look in the mirror a few times for my review of what he had applied to the skin before it became permanent as a tattoo. Requesting an adjustment of the imprint was met with understanding from Diamond and he then inked it perfectly to my direction. I am so happy with the result! I can't imagine using anybody else. He's now my "guy." The entire experience was wonderful in a beautiful open space gallery filled with artwork on the walls -- not a claustrophobic hole in the wall. Not only does this shop do amazing artwork and tattoos, but they also coverup some of those less than desirable inkings you may have gotten done in Rocky Point. They have multiple ways to address an unwanted tattoo like laser removal and tattoo lightening. It was really good to hear a professionals advice during a consultation in that regards. This is my 2nd time around 'newbie-ish' at Iron Key Studio in Peoria, AZ. The experience visiting until now has been great. From, the Initial conversation with Kaycie whom filters each appointment via: Mobile/Text - To, working with Seth whom I had the pleasure to entrust in his services. The first initial reaction walking into the space gives you all the feeeelz of an Art Studio. Not to mention, all the cool artist mastering their craft simultaneously with their prospective clients as you walk up to the front desk. What's really cool, is the 2nd floor! Upon arriving on floor 2, you're greeted by multiple rooms for different purposes. Which return gives you a broader view of how big this place really is. I personally recommend Iron Key Studio for all of your tattoo and piercing needs. I am definitely returning as I'm excited to have my 4th and 5th ear pierced by Seth. In particular, his advice on placement is valued based on my particular shape of ears. Which is important to me as it reflects back on my own individual uniqueness. The one and only request I have is more gold colored jewelry. Which is not reflective of Kaycie and Seth whatsoever! Whose the buyer?!! Lol.... I typically buy jewelry I want to use beforehand as a way to switch-out for another point in time.This is just my personal preference tho. Well, well over 6 months ago I scheduled an appointment with Brett to get my next tattoo done. I was told to pay $40 as a deposit which seemed reasonable to reserve my spot in his schedule & have a firm date & time. I love tattoos & was eager to get another. He rescheduled several times & didn't like the tattoo I wanted. He eventually cancelled the appointment after making me drive down from Flagstaff several times before the actual work could be done & before the scheduled day. Because he cancelled he said he'd refund the $40 deposit I paid towards the tattoo. I'd been told to send in several iterations of what I wanted & told to make updates & changes to my drawing. I tried to accommodate but again this place is very out of my way so coming in with a printed copy & etc wasn't the most helpful way to go about things. I was eager though to get it done right so... I complied. He wasn't there the time I took to go in after he cancelled. I'd let him know I was coming in for it as he'd instructed as well. Haven't heard a word since, no replies or etc. He wasted a lot of my time which I'll never get back. I don't recommend, if this is how people are treated. I regret the time wasted & hope he stays true to his statement that I'd be refunded my deposit since he cancelled & hadn't done work. But it's been a long time since all that with no results. I'm still psyched about my next tattoo & respect that he said it wasn't in his style so he couldn't do it well. When it comes time for the actual tattoo work to happen, I'd rather be confident that the artist is well versed in getting it done well. I'm used to artists being excited about the project but don't expect all to be that way. Very frustrated about being lied to about the refund & my time being wasted without any work or sketches being worked on. Still surprised to have not heard back since he cancelled & promised the refund. I don't get it but I guess it happens. Idk. Frustration about the entire ordeal seams reasonable though. read more

There are not enough words in all the languages to express how amazing my experience was working with Jonny Elliot. From the initial consultation to the last session, she exuded friendliness, patience and honesty. I had been waiting for a long time to get a tattoo and finally settled on a half sleeve concept (see photo inspiration). As a type-A personality, I am incredibly particular and detailed and was happy to know Jonny was equally so. She took her time with the details and made sure to think of everything even down to the species of fish I wanted in my tattoo. On the day of my first session and viewing of her sketch, I noticed she changed the type of fish I had requested to another species because from her personal research, the fish I initially asked for would not be found on the surface of the waves as depicted in my concept. Ultimately, her sketch and attention to detail turned out even more amazing than I could have ever hoped for. Not only is her work flawless, she is a wonderful person whom I will miss talking to and getting to know. To the owner of Iron Key, I pray you know what an asset you truly have in Jonny. Not only is does her work and talent speak for itself, her professionalism is a remarkable representation of your establishment. My little escape Shout out to my tattoo artist, Jonny Elliot I've been getting tatted from her since I was 19! I love the environment and the people. I would recommend planning on setting appointments a few months prior because openings for sessions might take a while, so I would definitely suggest planning ahead of time. Jonny Elliot is my artist and she is AMAZING. Always made me feel welcome here. Over the past few years I have seen her clientele expand and I have recommended all of my friends for Jonny whenever they come. Even though sometimes it might be hard for me to get tattoos appt fitted in her crazy busy schedule. I had a septum piercing done here. Sadly it wasn't done right. At no fault to anyone, these mistakes happen. A couple days later I called, ended up speaking to KC, a wonderful woman who was super understanding. She spoke to the manager right after and called me back. They told me I could come in to have it looked at, the jewelry removed, and my money back. I came in about an hour after the call. Everything was done quickly and professionally. I got my money back including the tip I left. My first piercing here might've not gone well, but everyone here is a wonderful, nice, respectable and understanding. I thought this was a nice shop- I had only been for the Friday the 13th tattoo day with my boyfriend and we had a nice experience even though they had ran behind. Fast forward, my boyfriend paid in full for a tattoo that he was no longer able to get and Melissa pretended like she was going to help us. I waited patiently for a month and then she just completely stopped responding to my messages. All that was requested was a $240 refund minus the $40 deposit. She made it seem like she was really going to help just to completely disappear. It's sad because this shop is close to my home and I originally thought they were nice but now I no longer have any trust in this place. Update: manager text me on 12/19 repeating same stuff and accused me of slander. I once again provided confirmed I had what she needed and then what do you know? It is now 1/10 and she still has not responded to me. Another update: I've been patient and decided to follow up with the manager today and now she is refusing to talk to me and told me that I'm harassing her all because I've been asking for an update AFTER she asked for my zelle information to send payment. read more

This place pawned me off from one person to the owner, who lied to me. I had spent weeks talking to thr owner to set up a time. He agreed and was good for a day and time. Morning of, the owner called and asked to move it back due to doctor appointment. I Said sure. We went in early for my brother's tat and who was there tattooing when they were suppose to be at an appointment, the owner, tattooing someone's back. Straight up lied to me. I still got some ink done and that was a huge mistake. Guy moved like he was on cocaine and worked really slow. Worst place to get worked on. read more

This shop is one of the coolest, cleanest shops I've been too and the artists are awesome! What a gem of a find. I got in touch with Melissa in regards to having one of my tattoos touched up/re-done. I had it done elsewhere about a year ago and was very disappointed in the results. After I was unable to make a deal with the previous artist to have it fixed, I looked elsewhere and Vioala! Melissa got me in touch with one of her artists, Jonny Elliott, and I made an appointment with her for the following week. Jonny blew my mind and really delivered exactly what I wanted! I also decided to get a Monroe Piercing while I was there. Chris did my piercing and he too was great. Walked me through step by step what he was going to do, as well as step by step after care. These people are the best and if you want an unforgettable experience with some amazing permanent skin art, look no further! Minty is INSANE! If you are looking for an artist that is good at line work, Minty is your guy. He takes his time, and does a killer job. I have gotten 2 tattoos done by him, as well as my husband. His minimum is $60 too, which is kinda unheard of because most artists charge $100 and don't even do very well. LOL! My husband and I will be returning to Minty for the years to come. read more
