Got my first Tattoo that I've been wanting for the last 5 years for my birthday. Mike did an outstanding job on it. He listen and walked me through the process. My wife loves it and was impressed and now wants one as well.
Jianna did mother/daughter tattoos and did a brilliant job! My daughter has my handwriting on hers, which is in the second photo... it's so perfect! She was so patient with me settling on a font for mine and finalizing a design. She's amazing! She also did a great job of helping me pick the location on my wrist so it won't get blurry, she explained the after care and the process during. I'm so impressed and thankful for her professionalism. The shop is clean, the service was awesome. We were greeted and then checked in. I will definitely be back to Modern Ink and I will FOR SURE ask for Jianna again! So talented!
Absolutely obsessed with my new tattoo done by Hannah (@theartsyaznative) at Modern Ink Tattoo! She was able to get me in super quick for a consultation, and even though she was booked out over a month, it was 10000% worth the wait. I picked this from a folder of random art by Hannah and I am so glad I did. She's an incredibly talented individual and I am beyond blessed to have her artwork displayed on me. The team at Modern Ink is amazing, too. Upon entry, you're greeted by Heather, who is SO sweet, beautiful, & accommodating. The other artists in the shop, like Johnny, are so fun to goof around & talk with. The vibe at Modern Ink is truly one of a kind! You don't get the "family" feel anywhere else.
Fifteen minutes after calling in, we were in the chair and getting a tattoo. This isn't some scruffy, unsanitary tattoo salon with an artists telling me how amazing he is. This venue was clean, smelled clean and felt clean. The artist was funny and actually asked about us. Shocking! The tattoo came out perfectly and will be back.
I came in here over the weekend hoping to get in but needed an apt. I was greeted by Jordan, who later became my artist. I just left there and it was a great experience! She has a good personality and bedside manner. They make you feel welcome and it's very clean. I get my piercings at their sister store, so I knew this place would be legit! Go check them out and see for yourself! I will be back :)
I payed $180 for three small tattoos and everything was great. I had Keith and placement understanding was a small issue but we got past it and it was no big deal.

Walked in on Valentines day with a picture of a broken heart that I wanted on my ring finger. Im truly not happy with the below picture and very disappointed. Now going on two weeks it looks horrible. I reached out to Bo 7 days after my tattoo on Feb 24th, 2021 to ask why isnt the crack in the middle of the heart??? Bo's answer, "just give it time". This is completely healed btw. Have no desire to go back to correct this mistake and to have this look even worse than it already does. I now have to pay someone else to correct this very visible mistake! Just don't understand How Hard Is It To Draw A Heart..
We went in as walk-ins for what my husband thought was a simple tattoo.. we later found out it's one of the harder ones an artist can do- we got set up with Jacob H. Who was the only artist in at the time but didn't turn us down! The tattoo (drawing and tattoo itself) took about 4 hours. He freehanded the drawing and made sure it was perfect all The place itself was nice and modern - very clean. Once more artists arrived the vibe was awesome.

Had a great experience with Daniel me and my best friend did a walk-in matching butterfly tattoo. His work is absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend coming here at this place is huge. read more

I have been debating on writing this because I have never wanted to leave something negative but I'd hate to see this happening to anyone else. My bf, his nephew and I called and asked if they had room for walk-in appointments and they told us yes. We came in and showed what we wanted and we all went to the same artist. He drew up the tattoos and gave us 3 size options and then just went to work. I thought it was a little weird that he didn't shave any of us before tattooing but didn't think anything of it (stupid of me). In the middle of tattooing me another artist leans over the wall and asks me if I've ever had Chlamydia which was also a little off putting. We all got charged $200 each and went on our way. A few hours after i noticed my skin started to turn purple and started getting concerned. Next day my arm was completely bruised. I've gotten multiple tattoos done and never ever bruised once and this was just insane looking. My bfs tattoo had a ton of blood in the saniderm just hours after as well that just didn't seem normal but could've just been natural? He started to get horrible scabbing 2-3 days after and we are certain it was infection with open wound. We definitely also notice some minor blowout in both of ours as well. read more

I contacted Modern Ink to see if I could come in for my very first tattoo. The owner, Heather, responded to my request quickly. I was hoping to schedule an appointment with Hannah and when I called, I was told I could come in right then. Everyone was super nice and professional. Hannah's portfolio stood out to me and I was not disappointed. They all warned me that I will now be addicted and they would see me soon for my second tattoo. I was debating on writing this review because I'm never a person who complains but my experience was so bad that ultimately I want to be able to warn other people so they are aware before coming here. I came in as a walk in simply wanting 111 tattooed on my wrist. My mom had gone to Jianna a couple weeks prior and her tattoo was amazing and she recommended the place. I ended being with a different artist which was totally okay with me but the way the artist did everything was not okay. First of all I don't even know his name because he didn't even have the decency to introduce himself. He then also never asked specifically how I wanted my tattoo font wise just stuck up 3 sizes and said "that looks good enough" and then proceeds to just tattoo me. And yes i definitely should have spoke up for myself in these and requested what I wanted but it's hard when you feel like you can't. The tattoo took him all of less than 5 minutes to do and it isn't even well done I have multiple blowouts on it which is crazy because it should not be that hard to do numbers. Last thing that really just rounded up this visit was the fact that somehow my tattoo was $100 before tip which is crazy for THREE NUMBERS. mind you he never even brought up price till the tattoo was on my body. The overall experience just gave lack of care. And I know an artist doesn't want to do angel numbers and they probably think it's stupid but it's something I wanted and they are getting paid to do it. The money grab for me was the most insane part because he's overcharging me because I'm a 22 year old blonde girl whose tattoos aren't visible so he probably thought I was stupid. Not to mention my tattoo has bled the most out of any of my tattoos and it is very prominent that he did it way too heavy handed. I honestly would recommend just going somewhere else because the treatment is absolutely ridiculous. Would not recommend Bo. Some lines were blurry, some too thin/not consistent with thickness of lines around them. His response was "this kinda thing happens." After the tattoo, I also had to point out a few places where I asked him to fix too thin lines, etc. If you're an experienced, high quality artist, this type of thing doesn't just happen. Attention to detail is something Bo does not have. I have three other tattoos and have not had this happen before. Seek elsewhere for true art. Was also concerned about cleanliness as Bo was handed new needles by an assistant who did not have gloves. Luckily, did not get infected from lack of detail here. read more

I did a walk in today for a fine line tattoo. I'm very impulsive so I decided it this morning. I was seen right away by Hannah who helped put my idea on paper. I expressed how I wanted it small and delicate but still have detail on the hamsa I was seeking. She took her time to show me two sizes that could work. After we started, the process itself took about 20 mins. She has a light hand and wasn't painful. Very happy with the end results. read more

I cannot recommend this shop enough! Every single person inside is wonderfully talented and such great human beings. It's a very welcoming environment, extremely clean, and just an all around positive experience. I've been tattooed multiple times by Hannah, and she's absolutely incredible. An amazing person to be around with such a bright personality, and a beautiful artist. I can't wait for my next appointment. I stopped in for a quick walk in today and was tattooed by Mike Schmitz, and my tattoo came out perfect. It was quick, but sitting with Mike was such a positive experience. We really had an amazing conversation and he is such a caring person. I absolutely love this shop and i'm so grateful to have found it. read more

Today was a hard day. My wife's best friend passed away after a 3 year battle with cancer , and she decided she wanted to get a tattoo in memory of her. Called a few spots and no one had availability. Spoke with Hannah who said sure, we can fit you in today. Stopped in and had a photo of the image taken, came back a few hours later and the work began. Hannah was super friendly and patient with someone who was as very nervous. Ink was done, tears were shed and we went to pay, and Hannah refused payment. Totally in shock, what a giving moment form a total stranger. I don't know what else I can say but wow and thank you. read more

I've been getting tattoos for a little over 10 years and never experienced a more welcoming atmosphere. Tattoo shops are not always known for that, so it's refreshing! They make sure you are matched with an artist who will work with you on your idea and placement. I was lucky enough to have Cracker Terry do my first piece at Modern Ink (butterfly pictured below). He's got thee best sense of humor and actually speaks to you while working. That's just a bonus, his work speaks for itself. His lines, shading, and color skills are amazing and super clean. I loved my tattoo so much I scheduled another session for another piece (pictured below). He's attentive and efficient. It's pretty epic to find a tattoo artist who is down to earth, genuinely nice, extremely talented and doesn't charge an arm and a leg (even though he should). Already working on my third idea with him. read more

I want to caveat that the tattoo isn't at all fully healed and won't look like this in a few weeks- totally understand that. However, a few things I noticed that I want to bring up. A family member and myself went in to get matching tattoos late last week. First thing I should've made note of in the moment that I didn't was that the tattoo artists working that day said they'd each do one to make it go by faster. I wish I would've said no and spent more time there. I should've known better because I have enough tattoos to know everyone has different styles. The tattoos are the same, sure. But they look pretty different. I as a customer should've said something but I think artists should also take this into consideration knowing it's the same tattoo. So in a way looking back at it, this felt almost rushed. Second concern I had was the bruising I experienced after. The photo attached is the day after I got the tattoo. I have a tattoo in the same spot on the other arm and I didn't bruise at all. I've actually never bruised due to a tattoo before. It wasn't like the artist was pulling on my skin or grasping my arm crazy or anything. I'm more confused by this than anything. The bruising hurt more than the actual healing process of the tattoo. My last concern is with the tattoo itself. I already mentioned everyone has different styles. When it was being done I almost appreciated more that it was a little thicker lined than expected, just due to all my other tattoos being like that. However I feel it looks enough different from the matching tattoo to make me a bit uncomfortable with it. The other tattoo done by a different artist matches the photo reference perfectly. But there are aspects of the tattoo that confuse me. I've added an annotated image of what concerns me. The heart detailing seems blown out. The moon looks like it was going in one direction, then it changes direction and is where it's supposed to be. Some of the stars just look pretty sloppy. I don't really enjoy the top left end of the moon either has a star connected to it or it isn't sharp (not the best description I know). Again, I understand it isn't fully healed and won't look like this. I'm concerned the areas that look blown out prior to being fully healed will look like that healed. My biggest concern is where it looks like the moon was going but never finished on the right side of it. The shop itself was lovely. They were very friendly. Great conversation. We were happy with the price. We went as a walk in. As a customer I'd just advise to be more aware than I was. I'll probably end up trying to fix the moon with some clouds or something. Which is disappointing, as this was supposed to be a matching tattoo. read more

We do take walk ins. Keep in mind walk ins are first come first serve and we recommend you call the shop before coming in to see what the schedule is like and if we have a wait.
For quarter sized arm tattoo, what's an average price range?
They charge $100 per hour regardless of size. So if you are only getting one small one it's still $100. Brogan is amazing there.
Do you have artists who specialize in fine line tattoos?
Yes we do. If you call the shop we can get you sent up with one of our artists
