I've been here a number of times for both piercings and ink, so I feel like I finally have enough unique experiences to post a well rounded review. TL;DR - The people are super nice, but buyer beware. I've had both piercings and ink done incorrectly by multiple artists, and experienced multiple situations of unprofessional behavior. Good prices, but if you go here, pay attention to EVERY detail of whatever you're getting done, otherwise you may end up getting what you pay for in the worst way. My first experience here was on a Friday the 13th deal day, where I got multiple piercings in one sitting. I had to go back in not long after to get my nipple jewelry swapped out, because I was experiencing pain and discomfort due to the bars used being MUCH too short. I was told that it could take up to 6 months to fully heal (this was my first non-ear body piercing, so a whole new world for me.) So, I waited patiently for almost 2 full months after that, not seeing any change. I finally broke down and made the long trek to see a professional piercer friend of mine, who had to completely re-pierce my nipples because the initial piercing was placed completely incorrectly. He pierced my areola, not my nipple...strike 1. My navel also had to eventually be redone and fit with proper jewelry, because the piece put in initially was MUCH too short to provide any room for healing. Strike 2. (Side note: Once properly done, all 3 of these piercings healed up right away, which is how I know it wasn't just my body rejecting or reacting weird. On the flip side the small tattoo and other 3 piercings I got here around the same time had no issue.) Went back a couple more times on deal days to get some small pieces from their style sheets, both times were good experiences, but kinda hard to mess up pre-designs...(also, hella long waits, which can be expected of course, but this place is really cool to honor their discount pricing throughout the weekend as long as you sign up night of, so +1 for service there) Since I was on a positive streak and felt like I really clicked with the last artist I had (and liked his work after looking up his page online,) I reached out to him to ask about getting a custom spine piece done. Put down a deposit and set a date. I sent some examples of what I was looking for the same day I put down my deposit, and asked some questions not long after about his process...to which I received no response. I've been getting inked since I was 19, and this is the FIRST time I've ever not been given some sort of mock up or initial design before going into the actual appointment. Seemed weird, but I figured hey, new artist I'm working with, new process, I'll roll with it. Show up on appointment day (two weeks ago) and I spent the first hour and a half sitting in the front waiting for him to start my design from scratch. He also seemed to not really remember what I was getting, which hey, I get it, they see a lot of people...but still, left me with a very uneasy gut feeling right from the get go...that should have been my sign to turn and leave. But these guys gotta pay their bills too, so I didn't want to flake out, plus I had been really looking forward to getting this piece done. Also, side note, when I walked in, I don't think I saw one single employee wearing a mask, which seemed incredibly odd to me considering the current state of things, especially for a business dealing with a lot of up close and personal encounters... Finally get into the room, and when it comes time to get me prepped and ready (which requires being completely topless to expose my whole back) I wasn't offered any sort of covering for the front of me. The door wasn't even closed fully for privacy. Now, I'll be the first to say I'm not at all shy or modest, so it wasn't all that big a deal for me, but for someone who may be much more sensitive about privacy and coverage, it just seemed like a major miss and a big sign of lack of care and attention to detail in an environment that some people are already nervous and jittery in to begin with. read more

I went to this place in lo' of my boyfriend recommendation and I enjoyed it! Tommy is an awesome, professional, and very creative tattoo artist. He did such a great job on my calf piece. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he was able to enhance it into an even better piece. The place was super chill and clean as well. Price wise wasn't bad either. These guys are great! Georgie fit us in and was quickly able to put together a unique piece based on my friend and my input on what we wanted. He did my tattoo while another artist (don't remember her name) did my friend's. So I had been getting tattooed here for a minute. And honestly I would have said yea go there but when I called to get an appointment by the artist who has been doing my tattoos I am told he no longer works there. Well I asked to talk to owner as I had a contract with his shop to call me because he was not in. I till this day have not heard from him and I have called multiple times. I had two sessions done on a $1,500.00 deal paid upfront and now it's not being honored. And I'll be damn if I let someone else do it after hearing the others in there talk. I feel that some of my money should be given back especially only after two sessions. To where I can go to someone I trust. If they offer deals make sure the people are not shady and the owner of the shop is not as shady as the people he keeps in there. So disappointed. So I know have a tattoo unfinished and I am out $1,500.00. Great way to do business, wouldn't you say. read more

Every time I go in to get a tattoo everyone's work looks amazing! It is clean but also a very comfortable shop with friendly artist.

I'm very upset this my latest experience with Evocative Tattoo. I got my favorite piercing re-done on July 29,2020. Obviously from the pictures it wasn't done right at all 1) the jewelry was way too small so my tongue had no room to swell (the piercer just assumed I would like a "small and cute jewelry") 2) right away I had to take the jewelry out of my mouth because of how my pain I was in mind you I've had this done before... the next day I went in to ask for a refund and got nothing and the piercer didn't even care to turn off his loud music/ stop tattooing to speak to me. All i know is I'll never go back to that piercer again. What a waste of $60 P.s. I believe he used tattoo ink to mark my tongue and I still can't get that off so I have two dots still. Also in the picture of the jewelry in my hand the top on is the one I just had in my mouth n the bottom one was from 6 months ago when I first got this piercing done. read more

The guys there are really nice and they seem to really be a family. When it came to the type of tattoo I wanted... unfortunately I didn't get what I wanted. I showed him a picture and it didn't look similar at all. It was more of a cartoon than realistic. I'm not saying he's a bad artist, that's the type of artist he is. I'm just saying it wasn't for me. I ended up having to go to someone else to fix the work and I have done 2 session to fix and I have 2 more until it's fully completed. I also felt that he charged too much for only tattooing for 10 years, but this is all an opinion. I'm not giving them a bad review. I also have to take responsibility for not standing more my ground. I allowed this to happen and now I'm paying the Ultimate price. read more

Well I wanted a star of life met a former military chick there that did my first tat her name is Elaine. Total bad ass chick but a hottie/ sweetheart. Her husband I met kick ass dude. Good vibes from both back to my tattoo she kicked ass on it . then next session got a black distressed flag got lots of complements. She's very sterile knows what she's talking about can't wait to finish up my sleeve on my left arm that start on my right. I give this place a zero and wouldn't reccomend it. Reason being an artist Elena had sent messages and responded to others referring to me, a customer as an "it". I had made a request for a consultation and because of my appearance. Through social media, "That me transgender was disgusting, but my money is still good. If I look to bad, we could always put a bag over "its" head. I sought out a female artist because I was born intersex with breasts, and I didn't want my chest reveled to a male. I was prepared to put 2000 down on a full back piece, but now will take my business elsewhere. This actually made me cry, being talked about this way. I don't expect to be treated in such a manner. Even if you don't like a customer, doesn't give you a right to humiliate them based on other matters that can't be helped or are not business related. read more

My friends and I lost a very dear friend and we all decided that we all wanted to get a small tattoo in her honor. Chris and Josh took us with less than 15 minutes remaining until they closed with zero hesitation. They stayed late to finish all 5 of our tattoos and I hope they realize just how much this moment meant to all of us. Let me start off by saying, I have been tattooed by many great artists on all parts of my body. I don't have much space left. I ran into Chris from Evocative at the AZ Tattoo Convention this year in February. His color work is off the charts. I had to get a piece from him. I came into the shop a few weeks later, and Chris remembered me from the show and what we talked about. I decided to get a large neck piece. We scheduled the appointment and I came in this last weekend. Chris had many different references for the work I requested. We talked about it, decided on placement, size, and style. It was perfect. The work was top notch. Let me be clear, this is the best tattoo I have ever gotten. That is saying something. He was quick, fluid, and very detailed. I couldn't be happier. Chris will be finishing my neck and any other tattoos I decide to get. He even answers my texts about questions with healing! He even calls me to explain things. This guy is awesome.
