I really can't believe that a "family restaurant" as they claim to be, such as this one, has chosen to continue to employ Jennifer matuszczak as a manager. She's a narcissistic liar, who's ruined my life, cheated on me several times over the last 20 years and just recently with one of her coworkers as well. Tells me the following day she no longer has any interest in me and that I need to leave. All the while she lies to everyone who will listen to her, and even fools them into feeling sorry for her. When in fact, the only person anyone should pity other than me, would be her stepmother as her father did the exact same thing to her that Jennifer did to me over and over again. Jennifer claims that I wouldn't work or sup her? She set the stage for all of that with her voting and political practices as not just me but millions of white American males were forced from our jobs after the 2018 election by people who were never even supposed to be here, and find work from then to now, has been pretty scarce for many of us. This woman would absolutely be in jail for what she's done to me if this was California or any other state with laws against gasllighting, manipulation, and using people as she does and I hope one day everyone she's lied to gets to see her for what she truly is, and I hope I get a bunch of apologies about it. She's lied to my son, and everyone else dumb enough to believe her. Yall n to wake up but I'd definitely boycott this place at the very least. She cheated with a coworker and I'm pretty sure it happened inside of the restaurant itself. Ewwwww. Just saying read more

I have genuinely never in my life had to write a review but this is the first time I have felt discriminated against. To start, I had ordered regular pancakes but received the wrong item. I got blueberry pancakes instead (which I'm allergic to). I kindly asked the server, Tammy, to correct it but right off the bat she was a bit snarky. However the real problem came later with the manager who I believe to be named Amy. She immediately corrected the issue and when I asked for a discount seeing as it was not my fault, she told me that I'd have to pay full price because I was technically still getting the meal. I decided to move on and just accept the charge seeing as she so "graciously" helped me when Tammy wouldn't but as I was leaving I overheard Amy talking about how I was rude and took years off her life from the interaction because I overreacted. I'm sorry that I just didn't want to die. Lastly Amy if you see this be better, do better! read more

We had such a great experience at Black Bear Diner! The food was fresh, delicious, and came out quickly, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Our waitress, Olivia, truly made our visit exceptional. She was friendly, attentive, and had such a positive attitude from start to finish. I received a the text my table was ready.. let her know and she told me I was mistaken... I showed her the message and she argued and told me they had not sent it and proceeded to argue more .. I responded told her fine I didn't want to hear the excuses.. she got offended and argued more.. so rude and immature.... I went for something a little different called the Eagle's Nest. It's basically a scramble. I specifically asked for sausage gravy as an upgrade but didn't get it. I wasn't about to waste food so I kept it. I think sausage gravy would have made this dish elite. It came with a side of your choice of bread and I went with sourdough. It was weird that they serve the bread dry and toasted and do not even offer butter unless asked. They played for a bit & walked two laps around the whole strip center. They came back, still no food. My son had a complete meltdown since he was both hungry & now tired, my brother-in-law asked if there was any way they could just rush my son's food. They did and he started eating, everyone was so hungry that they had some bites of his food as well. My mom went to ask the manager if our food was close to being ready. The answer was no, there was a whole list of orders ahead of ours. The manager was kind enough to bring us some spinach dip & apologized for the wait, explaining she was dreading today because the kitchen wasn't equipped for the Easter crowd. She assured us that they were working as fast as possible & we appreciated her honesty & effort. My mom went to her car & asked us to let her know when her food came. Our food finally started arriving at 3:17, and not all at once. My sister's meal came last. By this time my son was done & was getting restless while we had JUST started eating. The food itself was disappointing. My sister and I both ordered Benedicts. Mine (Boudin Benny) wasn't hot and was mushy instead of seared. Both of our poached eggs were undercooked. My sister's also had a large amount of cream cheese that wasn't listed and didn't taste good. Other issues: my mom's fries were cold, my brother-in-law said his chicken fried steak was no good. He ate it because he was hungry, and while my husband liked his sandwich & was happy with it, his fries were cold. My niece enjoyed her burger. My son's shrimp, fries, & macaroni were all hot and good... likely because they were rushed for him. It was 3:45 by the time we left. They close at 3. We received a 40% discount, but there was also a 20% automatic gratuity added, which some in our party didn't expect. Here's where they earn stars back... Natalie was great! She took great care of us & kept apologizing for the delay. We could tell that she felt bad, but it was not her fault. The manager also came by checking on us multiple times & got us settled as best she could. She brought us spinach dip while we waited & she made sure that my toddler got food very quickly after being asked about it. She did thank us multiple times for our kindness & patience. As did Natalie. I too, was appreciative of the kindness they showed us. Most of us have all worked in food service before & we understand that the wait staff can only do so much. We also understand being slammed in the kitchen & how fast paced they have to work in order to handle rushes. I appreciate the 40% discount... 20% after the tip. This review was based on one trip & I will update my review if/when I return. But this visit was definitely not a great experience & if it weren't for the kindness, I'd be leaving one star.
