Hubby and I love our local BB Diner! We've never had a bad meal here and it's affordable. Hubby ALWAYS orders their Rueben Sandwich. It's perfectly grilled with a lot of pastrami and ooey gooey melted cheese. I'm a big fan of the Patty Melt, but I gambled on the Pot Roast Melt today? It was scrumptious with a good amount of Roasted Chuck that was tender and juicy. I especially loved the Horseradish Sauce! Served with hot Au Jus for dipping it was amazing. The service is always great especially if Michelle is your server. She's fun, sweet and engaging. We went about 3:00 pm to avoid the busy dinner rush. My tip of the day. Lol. So thank you Black Bear AND the skilled Chefs that never fail to produce a tasty meal.

If you've never been here, it's pretty much reminiscent of a Cracker Barrel, except with a lot of wooden carved bear sculptures. It's a chain restaurant thats been around for about 30 years. We kept our menu choices pretty simple with an egg white scramble with everything on the side and a fried chicken dinner. The fried chicken seemed to me like it was made offsite and shipped here and it was very reminiscent of those fried chicken banquet TV dinners, except a little better. It's supposedly breaded and fried on site, but I beg to differ so I'll leave that for you to decide (the fried fish I had days earlier was similar). The egg white scramble and all the sides were definitely very good so no complaint there. They serve breakfast all day long and you get a big white fluffy biscuit to go with it. It's hard to find an inexpensive meal here in Napa, but they have the right formula working for them with decent food at a very budget friendly price. The bill for two including tip without drinks or dessert was right at 50 bucks. It's a place I'd return to and explore something else on the menu. Great service as well. Check out the photos below for greater insight.

Our server was very sweet, she was extremely busy but still tried her best to get bk to us at a decent time. My daughter loved her chicken & waffles. I wasn't feeling my salmon dish with green beans. Wish I would've grabbed something else as it was lacking in taste. Overall, mutual rating, not too bad, not so great.

Good Good Morning breakfast- breakfast for the win. Easy to park and we were quickly seated. We have the steak and eggs and a wonderful pancake. I like black bear diner. The menu has something for everyone and the ambiance brings me back to when I was a kid. Our waitress was helpful with her selections , kept the coffee full and our good was there fast. It was busier than expected - this reminds me how good things are here and it's good to see other people think so too.

Ordered some food for pickup and I was treated like royalty. They really laid out the red carpet for me. Priscilla started it off with the great customer service during my order over the phone. Then the manager Marcos topped it all off. I asked him to take a picture of me and the Black Bear mascot because I've been eating the food for years and I've never seen their mascot in person. It was an amazing experience. I'll most definitely be back like the terminator.

I really enjoyed Black Bear diner matter of fact I'm still here the people of friendly people are good it really doesn't take all that long for you to get your meal you get large proportions for a fair price I would like to take this time to recognize Lucy a waitress is always it takes good care of me when I come in

Been here a couple of times and the service has been good. Portions at Black Bear is big & you will have leftovers after eating here. The ambience at this location is nice & casual vibes to it. Huckleberry lemonade 5/5 This was my first time trying huckleberry lemonade & it was refreshing & delicious! I highly recommend it. It has the perfect amount of sweet and tartiness from the lemon & huckleberry. if you haven't had huckleberry before, tastes like a sweeter blueberry. Additionally you get an additional free refill so pretty worth getting. 2 biscuits & gravy 5/5 The portion for this item is HUGE. The biscuit I had were more on the fluffier side & they put a gracious amount of gravy on top of the biscuits. Taste wise, satisfying if you're craving biscuits & gravy. Cob Crispy Chicken Cob Salad 5/5 I love getting their Cob Salad & recommend getting it. The chicken is super crispy, the bacon flavorful & crunchy, pairs perfectly with the fresh & crisp salad.

Biscuits were way too big.

I got the country fried steak with the country potatoes, and over easy eggs with the biscuits. this is my first time trying blackbear, and I disapprove only because I am a potato queen and these potatoes were not cooked all the way the over easy was a little runny. The steak was actually pretty good the biscuits. I don't understand why they were so freaking big. There's no way I'm gonna eat too too fluffy for me. The taste wasn't bad. I would not be eating here again.

April 2022 Black Bear Diner With approximately 141 locations with Brownsville, TX being their newest addition in 2021.The first location opened in 1995 in Mount Shasta, CA. Black Bear Diners can be found in states such as California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas to name a few. With over 17 different categories on their menu you can choose from it can satisfy the hungriest member in your party. Menu categories include hungry bear breakfast, pancakes, waffles, and french toast, omelettes and scrambles, 2 egg combs, bear Benedict, beary lite, burgers, specialty sandwiches, super salads, little less, weekly specials, homestyle dinners and steaks, and breakfast for dinner. I ordered the Bear Choice which comes with your choice bacon, link sausage, or smoked ham, and your choice of sweet cream pancakes, waffles, french toast, or biscuits and gravy. It's a generous portion so no need to order seconds, unless you want to.

I came in today with a pick up order for my mom. Got a build a bear breakfast? Two sausages, two eggs, scrambled, and biscuits and gravy. The sausages were good, the eggs were perfect, the biscuits were good, but a little too salty. Not enough gravy. Overall pretty good.

This very popular counter service cafe is very popular for good reason. The food is amazing. I am so happy to we chose to go here while visiting Napa for a few days. It's worth visiting Napa just to go to Winston's in my humble opinion. The waits can be long to get in and order and maybe even long to get a table, but it's worth it. Also, this place is a great community establishment and helps out the local pet shelter to help find homes for dogs. They even have coloring pages with crayons of adoptable dogs at the Napa shelter. My wife and I ordered two breakfast places and two pastries on our visit. The salmon salad plate was our healthy plate, which was really tasty and fresh. The true standout for me is their pork Belly Loco Moco. I never seem to love a loco moco plate, but I like them. They are typically served with a beef patty. Let me just say that this is a perfect plate of food. The pork belly melts in your mouth and has a delicious hoisin sauce drizzled on it. The eggs and pickled veggies god great with the pork belly, but there is also this wonderful gravy on the plate which is like a chicken gravy. It's so ridiculously good. I can't say enough good things about this plate and how much it works together in balance and harmony. We also tried their toasted Coconut donut, which is a glazed yeast donut with toasted coconut flakes. It was very good! But the dessert standout was the chocolate pistachio muffin. This was so moist, buttery and rich with chocolate and nuttiness. So delicious! I also want to add that I love the ambiance of Winston's and its lovely decor. This is a real gem of a place!

Our table wasn't properly cleared , some dishes were removed before our food arrived, but the remaining ones weren't taken away until after, and the table was never wiped down between. As for the food, I'd give it a 3/5. The chorizo in my omelet was overly salty, not in a seasoned way, but genuinely too much to enjoy. The potatoes also tasted like they had been fried multiple times, possibly to reheat, which left them with an off flavor.

There's a lot of bustle here during the brunch rush but once you're seated it's easy to relax and enjoy yourself. The place is large but just small enough to still feel cozy. I don't usually order dishes I've never heard of before, but when our server read the Turkish Eggs special and mentioned the yogurt, dill, salmon, and poached eggs, I couldn't say no! I was pleasantly surprised by how well the smoked salmon and yogurt dill sauce went together, made better by the runny yolk of a perfectly poached egg. I would absolutely go back just for that special. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, though you can only get so excited about pancakes. Chilaquiles were delightfully savory, the plate was practically licked clean. Overall it's a great brunch spot for any weekend occasion!

Lightly toasted, they develop the perfect crunch on the outside while staying soft and airy inside. Honestly, all they need is butter. They're great on their own, even better with oatmeal and coffee Croissant (4.5/5): really solid croissant. Soft, buttery, and clearly made with care. It had that delicate pull and layered texture you want without becoming overly heavy or greasy. My only complaint is that it deserved butter and jam on the side to really complete the experience. I'll admit, I was a little worried before booking because of some of the reviews I had read. But after staying here, I can honestly say those concerns didn't match my experience at all. Whatever issues others may have had, they certainly weren't part of our stay. The location is hard to beat. Being right along the Napa River makes a huge difference. Morning coffee by the water with the walking path just steps away sets the tone for the whole day. It feels peaceful and tucked away, yet you're still within easy walking distance to downtown Napa's tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable without feeling overly fancy or pretentious. The bed was great, the bathroom was well-appointed, and I appreciated the little details that made the stay feel thoughtful. If you can get a river-facing room, it's worth it. The outdoor spaces are really what make this place special. There's something about sitting outside in the evening with a glass of wine, watching the river drift by, that just feels very "Napa." Service was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The staff really stood out -- especially the woman working in the café in the morning. She was warm, upbeat, and genuinely made the start of the day feel special. It's those small personal touches that elevate a stay from good to memorable. Another big plus: they offer free EV charging, which was a great perk and made the trip even more convenient. It's always nice to see properties thinking about sustainability and guest convenience at the same time. It also shares a parking lot with San Francisco's famous The Slanted Door, which makes grabbing an incredible meal ridiculously easy. Having that level of dining right next door is a huge bonus. If you're looking for a luxury mega-resort, this isn't that -- and that's a good thing. Upon arrival there is no one to help (or no one offered to help) with luggage. That would be ok I suppose but the two options to get into hotel were 2 flights of stairs or a long winding ramp that went down length of hotel and back. I only had one bag but my friend had a few and it was a hassle. We booked two queens and requested river view, however BUYER BEWARE none of the queen rooms view river. All of them face a parking lot. When we checked in we first went to the queen room and we had to go. For $600 a night to face a parking lot and on outskirts of downtown it was the same quality as a Best Western. Honestly I've been to better Best Westerns. We decided to move rooms to get the view so we ended up sharing a King. My friend was going to use sofa bed but when she pulled out the bed it was made and had a ton of hair on it (maybe pet hair?). Some pros: The river walk area is nice. View of Napa river right off bar could be a nice place to unwind. Another pro is that the manager was super kind and helpful to my friend when we moved rooms, even walking her to the room to ensure it was ok. Overall the price is terrible for quality, but the staff are helpful and kind and they are the reason for any stars.
