    Short Rib Focaccia Sandwich
    Dave G.

If you have been following chef Chuy's pasta pop ups you'll be happy to know he now has his own spot, Bl00m. I like most, am a longtime fan of Playground/ 2.0 / Detention / Trust....and have enjoyed Chef Chuy's exceptional food for years now. I was so happy to hear that his vision for pasta, sandwiches, and very soon to be wine would be in a place that was familiar to us all. I showed up right at 11am for their soft opening, and loved every bite. Green Goddess Salad - so refreshing on a hot day, well coated in a flavorful dressing but everything was still crisp. The pistachios and pickled onions were a nice add, and the dressing had a touch of mint. Rigatoni with Ricotta - Loved the creamy red sauce that had a tiny touch of heat to it. The fresh pasta was on the European side of al dente, which having been to Italy, I became a fan of. The cool ricotta with the slight spicy sauce worked perfectly. Definitely a must order...and a reminder that simple is beautiful. Short Rib Sandwich - crafted on their own focaccia, this is a glutinous guilty pleasure. It's going to be a bit messy, but you'll be happy you ordered it. Short rib was sliced like a tri-tip, but way more tender and rich. Doing it this way, holds up so much better for a sandwich. Topped with caramelized onion and Gruyère, and you have a French onion soup flavor profile. Peaches and Crème - this might have been my favorite dish, although fresh fruit desserts will be seasonal. The peaches were a tasty compote and the crème was actually inside a meringue. Crack that puppy open and you have a great texture to go with the sweet cream and peaches. Bl00m has done a nice job renovating the old Dough Exchange spot, making it colorful and inviting. Can't wait to see what they end up doing with the Trust Kitchen....soon to be called Lowlight. But in the meantime, lunchtime pasta and sandwiches for me.

We had a lovely lunch at Bloom this afternoon. Every dish felt intentional, you could taste each ingredient and yet each bite was harmonious. Our favorite dish hands down was the creste di gallo with garlic - never have we had such perfectly thin shaved garlic bursting with flavor and with a tender bite that went perfectly with the handmade pasta. We had to try both desserts and the pavlova was perfectly baked, crisp throughout without even a hint of chewiness. The watermelon granita was the best way to end the meal on such a warm summer day though - so refreshing. With every dish being a hit, we will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Every dish was such a delight! The attention to all the different flavors to make for the perfect bite. The vibe of the restaurant was spot on. We took our daughter with us and she was just enjoying the good food and music. The zucchini chip was addictive. The tempura batter was perfection. Loved all the different flavors found in the hamachi crudo. Loved the hint of spice in the rigatoni pasta. And you can truly taste the freshness of the pasta. We are looking forward to returning to try the rest of the menu!

Super cute pasta bar in the heart of downtown Santa Ana! Service and food were both impeccable. Portion sizes are great and very easy to share. Can't wait to return!

Also got the rigatoni which comes in a morita chili tomato sauce so there is a slight kick, with ricotta and chives.

What if my order was fettuccine Alfredo with a side of meatballs?! Also maybe call us to explain? Bari offered a $25 store credit. Would you order again if a restaurant handles your food order as such, never acknowledging the error? So no I don't want a store credit. We asked for a credit card chargeback, they denied it. We asked for the credit in cash, denied. Basically said too bad take it or leave it. Look. The dish was made wrong. I'm not even requesting a full refund on a $150 order. We accepted a tiny $25 for a totally wrong dish. You can't just pull $25 out of your pocket to fix the error? Oh and they blamed that it was our fault to not deal with it the day of. I…read morestill remember the old deli that was there prior to this restaurant and I've seen numerous social media ads and posts about the place so I wanted to check it out. I think I was a little hesitant because in my head I was thinking how good could possibly really be? In my head spaghetti/pasta is something I can make it home and almost thought it a waste of money to go out of my way to go out specifically to eat this dish. I ordered the Arrabiata pasta with the sausage. I'll admit I was a little thrown off by added cost of each tolling and also added cost of the Arrabiata sauce and I also did wait until a fair amount before the food was ready for takeout. But the pasta really blew me away. I'm still thinking about how good it tasted. I would definitely come back and I actually wanna bring my dad who loves spicy pasta like this. It was really that good. I can't think of another place that has this level of pasta let alone this price. The only negative I would say in regards to one of the workers. The cashier was manned by wonderful woman who did every and all tasks from taking the orders to putting food items in the oven to answering the phone I'm probably much more than that. I don't know. In contrast there was an Asian man with a black shirt who was also working. He looked lost and completely helpless. There was a moment where this woman was so busy and there was a ringing that I assume was from either a phone call or a delivery order. This man did not offer to help more nor did he help from what I saw. He was utterly helpless and unhelpful. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt with the encouragement "Hey help your team out!" The woman on the other hand was doing so many things simultaneously and yet was really kind at the same time. Anyways, I'm giving my review of a five star because I wanna see this place succeed and I'll definitely come back .

If you look at my picture, under the salmon, there is a big slice of tomato that adds on to the flavor. Its so thick that I cant get a mouthful with all the flavors in one bite. After I tried the salmon bagel here, it's really hard for me to be satisfied with a salmon bagel anywhere else. They also have 2 soups of the day that they post on their Instagram. I even drove from Westminster because I was looking forward to enjoying one of their sandwiches that I hadn't had in a long time. I also ordered an oatmeal raisin cookie, which unfortunately tasted unusually salty. I called to share my feedback about the cookie, and the response I received from Frank was dismissive and unhelpful. He stated that he tastes the cookies every morning and insisted there was nothing wrong with them. There was no offer to replace the item or further address my concern, and the conversation ended abruptly with a brief "have a good day." Overall, I was disappointed by the lack of attentiveness and willingness to engage with a customer concern over what was simply one menu item. Unfortunately, this experience has changed my perception of the restaurant and may affect my decision to return in the future and share the experience of horrible customer service!!

The extraordinary thing about the Pasta Sisters is that they offer house made pastas, which guarantees a higher price point, but offers unparalleled texture.
