Came here during the day on a weekend and first order of wings and calamari came out quick but the second order of wings I had ordered took at least an hour. Not once did the waiters ask if we wanted to canceled our orders and told us "your meal should come out in a few seconds" but as we kept waiting and waiting, our food finally comes out in 1.5 hours. Why was there no cummincation between the server and us? I'm not sure but what I would have appreciated was a honest truth that my order did not go through and was forgotten. I would appreciate the honesty that they were just making my wings right now vs. "we are making it and it will come out in a few seconds" I've been here a few times and this location has constantly been upsetting. This is our family's favorite pizza place in Montebello! The pizza is always cooked perfectly and they're not stingy with the toppings either. My favs are the pastrami and Mexican pizzas...try them and you'll know why!!! It's family owned and operated...so you know you'll get great service every time. This place never disappoints. We come here about every other week not only because they have good food and great service but because they are family-friendly. Pizza is so good, you'll eat all the crust. We always order with a tray of salad. It's simple with fresh ingredients: iceberg lettuce, tomato, cheese and yellow peppers. Excellent for a pizza joint. You can pair your food with a cold beer pitchers like we do, or bottled beer, wine by the glass or soft drinks or water. We always have a good time with family here while the kids play on the video games. Not too worry if you dont have quarters you can always ask at the cash register to change a bill for quarters. They have TVs where you can watch whatever game is on. Their restrooms are always clean, although I wish they had a baby changing table so I wont have to take my baby to the car when I need to change her diaper. Overall, this is our pizza spot and we are very happy with it. By the way, they'll have heart-shaped pizzas for Valentine's Day. read more

Several years ago I thought this pizza was the best in Montebello, but slowly the quality started to diminish. I reached my limit and felt I had to offer constructive criticism when my pizza arrived with avocado as a topping that was brownish-black. Being that this was one of my usual toppings, I knew they could do better, so I called in... not asking for anything, just to comment. I had the worst customer experience EVER! I am a man that has worked for a global corporation in a multi-billion dollar industry, focusing on customer service, and let me tell you... businesses collapse because of people like this. Not only did the person on the phone line disagree with me, the customer, but he lied and then proceeded to insult the customer. I have a way with words and proceeded to politely advise the person that this was not appropriate behavior... only to find that this was the OWNER I was speaking to. I proceeded to laugh and told him in so many words I would never return and hung up. Only for him to call me back (with my delivery info on his computer) to argue and after several call backs with me hanging up on him... he threatened to fight me. Thats when I got nasty, and the phone conversation ended. NEVER AGAIN!!!! The customer service is by no means top notch. There's usually a few high school girls working and yappin at the counter. They then semi-acknowledge you when they've completed the yap sesh. Anyway, the pizza is AMAZING! My 1 year old daughter starts salivating when we walk in the door. She knows her pizza. The cheese is super thick and super hot and the pepperoni is a little crispy and very flavorful. The 4 star rating is for the food, not the service. As a matter of fact, I went in there just the other day and they got my order mixed up and my order ticket just dissipated into thin air. Thus, no pizza for me... After 45 minutes. The counter girl came up to my table, apologized and gave me my money back and asked if I'd mind waiting another 10-15 minutes. I figured it's cool, since I've waited this long. Good lunch specials. The pizza is on the thick side and super doughy, which I like. The special I usually get is a slice, salad and drink. I have entered this establishment a couple times and had Pizza delivered each time my opinion f them gets worse and worse. Location: (-1) The location is real sketchy, It is located in a mini strip mall at the south part of town that is unsafe at times. It is not uncommon to leave the restaurant and have a group os drunken men hanging out near the restaurant making for a slightly unconformable and family unfriendly environment. Décor: (+1) The inside of the restaurant is small but it is clean, and definitely feels like a Pizza Parlor. Wood chairs, pin ball, Beer signs all around, and it is nice to be surrounded by windows, even if the view I s real run down. Customer Service: (-2) Completely Horrid. The employees carry on personal conversations rather than listening to customers, Pizza delivery guys are usually late, and they usually run a team of 3-4 people, completely unacceptable for a busy night. Heaven forbid they get your order wrong because they will make you feel like its your fault. How can this happen? Why doesn't the owner change it? Well that's because it is the owner who is the worst one. The Kitchen is open to the Dining room so as a customer you can hear them as they work, and the foul language and constant womanizing that comes out of the Kitchen or the owners office is unacceptable. Taste: (-1) The standard pepperoni Pizza is nothing special at all (Especially for the high cost). The crust is thin and not chewy like a good Pizza should be, The source has some good flavor but is covered up by subpar cheese and tasteless Pepperoni. The "Specialty Pizzas" like the Mexican Pizza or Hawaiian have the same issue, just not enough flavor. You are better off going with a Chain Pizza because you get the same flavor at half the price. The restaurant also has which I have not tried but my friends who have gone with me have said the same thing, just not enough flavor. Costs: (-1) Too much for not enough flavor Summary I have been to this place a few times, I always give small businesses a couple tries because I want to support them whenever I can, But the awful customer service, scary location, lack of real pizza flavor, and high costs make this place one of the worst Pizza joints in Montebello, They will never see me or my money again, and after one less then favorable conversation with the owner I am glad to say that B,Js subs and grub is the worst Pizza place I have ever had in my entire life. Okay so I just started coming here again after a couple of years of exploring other options in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. I had been tasting other happy hours in my area with my wife and we found a couple good spots with great deals. But the other day we felt like a slice and we wanted to stay close to home. I remembered I loved there pizza here with all 13 toppings and a small for two people sounded pretty good. We ordered a pitcher of beer ($13) and a full order of potato wedges for ($4) and wings. Along with that we got a small pizza with the works and it filled us both. I think we ordered too much food but the following week we came and ordered wings and wedges and jalapeno poppers which was bomb. Both times we ranged at about $30 with a pitcher of beer which is a really good price for us. So I do recommend there happy hour and as for the food it is nothing gourmet but it is simple and delicious and the prices are reasonable. So yeah I'm a fan and definitely coming back. read more

Okay, when you have 4 young kids finding a good reliable pizza place that satisfies both you and the kids is a hard find. BJ's is the place that brings my family joy. To tell you the truth, the food is good, but the fact that they deliver, like all the other chain cardboard pizza places, pushes them over the top. I placed a big order for my company's luncheon. Order taker was courteous and patient even though they sounded very busy. Driver arrived 2 minutes earlier than our requested time which was great for a party, it wasn't late and it didn't sit around getting cold. AND, the pizza?! Well, it ROCKED! It was delicious! BJ's Pizzeria is a store in a small strip mall near the police station. The pizza to me is pretty much the only reason I come here. I've had lots of the items on their menu and I'm not saying nothing else tastes good here but for me it's all about the simple pepperoni and cheese pizza. I do love the Mexican pizza but you have to eat it hot right away because it does NOT taste good the day after when you go to nuke it. My other go to is the meatball sandwich if I'm not craving pizza. It can get really crowded and loud especially if there's a party going on or if there is a ball game going on in that case I would get it delivered or call the order in for pick up. read more
