Today while visiting Montebello We stopped by to eat at our favorite place Since I grew up here, drove 1 1/2 hours and had my family join me since we had to meet up.. We waited outside for about 28 minutes since they opened till 1 pm When the cashier opened the door and welcomed us in .. the New Owner yelled across the room "we don't open till 2 minutes " My kids and family looked back in such shock !! Waiting still called in our order they said 45 to an hour to deliver now they won't answer our call never ordering from them again. We had to use a different phone to get a update as they would not answer from the phone line where we originally called from and they told us it was on the way and an hour and 50 minutes still nothing. The ownership has changed again. This has been a favorite pizza restaurant for us for many years. It has survived a few ownership changes, but this one is terrible. They now charge a delivery fee, they are closed on Mondays but when you call on Monday the phone just rings and rings there is no answering machine to tell you they are closed. Today (Tuesday) I call and no answer then I call back and a gentleman answered and said they are closed today. So I asked what days they are closed and he says Monday's but they opened Monday so they closed today. We order almost once a week from them and so far since the ownership change there has been something wrong with every order. And it seems there have been changes to their pizza and it is not nearly as good as it used to be. I would not recommend BJ's to anyone read more

Pizza was good but you gotta be prepared to wait hours. The place was probably at 50% capacity during my visit. We waited over 1 hr for our pizzas to arrive. It was well over 1.5 hrs passed since I ordered so I was ready to leave and my order of wings never came. I came to the counter to cancel and I guess the order arrived to my table as I approached the cashier. I asked them to cancel. They canceled it. As I went back to my table my party said the wings had arrived and they grabbed one or two, but the waiter went back and grabbed the wings and took them back inside the kitchen. I have no problem with that but would you trust to eat a plate that had been at someone else's table already? The law is to not serve food that had been of the kitchen. Then, i wasn't totally satisfied with the order but after walking in n speaking with Alex(Owner) he guaranteed me that the new order was going to be just the way i wanted it. I've enjoyed BJs for as long as I can remember. (There, now that your mind is out of the gutter, let's proceed) It's a local pizzeria with no frills, tasty ass pizza. If you love a good topping heavy pizza with a hearty crust, this is the place to go. Yeah, it's more expensive than your standard pizza chain, but it's so much better than those boring pizza providers. I don't know if it's the nostalgia of this place or the pizza itself, so I might be a little biased, but when you want a good, greasy slice, this is the place to go. read more

I ordered a pepperoni pizza, bbq wings and potato wedges. I think the owner buys the CHEAPEST ingredients because nothing has flavor. I swear it feels like you're eating a Little Caesar's $5 pizza. My favorite pizza spot. Affordable. Friendly staff. We like to come hang out and watch sports while the kids play with the arcade games. Everything I've tried on the menu is a hit. Firstly I don't have a vendetta. I just want to help the other patrons. This time around the pizza was better. The cheese is suspect though. Crumbles in your mouth and doesn't have a pull. Seems that acquire cheaper cheese.  Passable good ole American pizza though. But I was pretty bummed out on how I got hosed on the beer. I bought a 35 ounce after finishing a pitcher. If I'm off an ounce it doesn't really matter here but I'm sure the menu said 35 ounces. I have bought many beers of this size in my lifetime. When I got to my table I realized how small the stein looked. So since I had a pint cup left from my pitcher, I poured it in. When the 16 ounces was full I noticed the "35 ounce" stein was more than half empty. Math will tell you that 16 plus 16 is 32. Far under the "35 ounces" that was sold to me. I mentioned to the owner, I believe he's the owner, that the stein seemed small and that I poured more than half into a 16 ounce cup. He told me the cup was 20 ounces. LOL. I've been drinking out of pint glasses for over 35 years. I just played dumb and chalked it up to being another bad time at BJ's. I walked to the liquor store next door and bought a 6 pack of Budweiser 16 ounces. I took the "20" ounce cup home. I filled a full 16 ounce beer in the cup and took a picture. It is a pint/16 ounce cup as I suspected. NOT A 20 OUNCE CUP. Now I might sound petty but I don't like being over charged and lied to in my face by the owner. Make sure you get what you pay for people. I miss the old BJ's but it is what it is. I won't be going back. read more

I recently became a local resident to Montebello and was in need of a new pizza spot that was close by and worth it. I've tried a few and the cheese always gets hard quick and the pizza was all soggy not to mention getting a stomach ache. Well I finally decided to give this BJs Pizzeria a try, not gonna lie it was well worth it. The pizza was cooked to custom order and came out perfect with crispy crust and just enough tomato sauce and good amount of cheese. They don't go easy on the toppings so it's worth the extra money. The first two times I ordered it was for pick up and they were always on time with the order and the staff was real friendly. The fact that they sell beer and have tables inside made me want to come here on game days when everything else is packed and no parking available. I finally ordered for delivery because of the rain and having my toddler in bed, took a bit longer to get my order but again when it came it was still fresh and STILL JUST AS GOOD! I love ordering the pineapple and ham with half pepperoni. SUPER BOMB!!! I had to rate this place because I want to make sure the word gets out there, that this place is legit on their pizza. Idk how it has less than 5 stars but hopefully this helps them get the ratings up. Sucks that I am dieting and won't be back for a while after today but it was a spate of the moment type. But once I get to where I need to get I am definitely going to indulge in some pizza from BJs Pizzeria NO DOUBT!!! read more

Amazing food! the new owners have really turned the life of this restaurant around. i used to come here 5 years ago (before the new owners), and it was pretty bad. the lasagna is my personal favorite! and you can't ever miss with the crispy mango habanero or lemon pepper wings. the staff is very friendly and all deserve a raise. This is about my 3rd time here, we ordered the Mexican Pizza which we've had before and it never disappoints ! The Mexican Pizza has beans instead of sauce- cheese, chorizo and avocado. We Really Like This One. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was good, not too greasy and a good mount of cheese. The cashiers were very nice and friendly. I like the fact that they have a pretty much open kitchen so you can watch them making the food. Prices are reasonable and they have a couple video game machines, I really wish they had a Pac-Man machine though. This was the best pizza I've ordered in Montebello. The delivery time was off, they say they'd be here in 30-40 minutes, but they got here in 1hr & 5 mins. All was forgiven once we tasted the pizza. We ordered a Lg Pastrami pizza & a Lg Ham & Pineapple for $39.54. The Pastrami pizza was amazing. It has mustard & whole pepperocinis on it. The Ham & Pineapple had lots of juicy pineapple. They aren't stingy with their topping. The crust is thick and crunchy, too. We will definitely be ordering from here again. read more

Ordered yesterday for a delivery called 2 minutes after the delivery guy left cause he forgot my 2 liter called back 20 minutes later after they said he'll be right back apparently he finished his drop off and went back to store plus I mentioned I noticed they also forgot to give me my garlic bread. Already ate my food waiting for garlic bread and soda wasn't going to wait until my food got cold. All they said was sorry with no discount or anything to make up for the inconvenience. Sorry, I'm going to have to pass on this place. The wife and I have been looking for a good pizza place in our area for a while now. We were in the neighborhood and weren't sure if we should try this or the place next door. This place won. We walked it and ordered a couple of slices because we weren't sure if we would like it and we were glad we only got the slices and not the whole pizza. the dough was a bit chewey (we judge by the dough. Any one can put toppings but not every one can make a good dough) the sauce was just o.k. . I felt it was a bit greasy , reminded me of Costco pizza. I don't like Costco pizza. Needless to say that we ended up going across the street for tacos because this place just didn't cut it for us. read more

I'm vegetarian and happen to be in Montebello. The beer is great. The food seems great if you eat meat but for vegetarians or vegan it's not a great place.
