Forces you into contract for service. Did not ever resolve bug problems. Felt like as soon as they left we would find more issues! They do not spray to kill the problem they spray a "barrier ". Forced us to pay knowing they weren't actually doing anything, don't go here ! read more

I called to have my service rescheduled due to the date and time not working for me and Tom Adams called and left me a voicemail saying they were canceling my service. I never asked for this to be cancelled but he told me that we cannot skip services. I have been using them for a while now, but this was absolutely unacceptable. read more

Last week I called their company for a quote for possible pest services. The technician was due on Wednesday, June 1st between 9-12. He didn't show or call to say he would be late. At 12:40 I left my home for another appointment. At 2:22 my Ring camera notified me of someone approaching. It's the technician who's a full 2.5 hours late. Not a great way to make a first impression. When I arrived home I noticed his card on my door with a handwritten note stating "sorry i missed you. Please feel free to call or text me and I can get you an estimate. On Friday I texted the number that was handwritten on the back of the card. I didn't expect a response the same day as it was late afternoon. Monday rolls around, no call back...Maybe he'll reach out on Tuesday morning? Nope. It is now Tuesday late afternoon (June 7th) and I've given up on this company. I also see why their reviews are so awful. read more

We've had BJ's Consumer's Choice in Turlock for approximately 25 years. Every time I call for "extra visitors" that have tried to take over my backyard I call in between our routine spraying they are always friendly on the phone. Our technician, Rich is here within a fay or two. He is always friendly and does a great job. I would highly recommend this company for any "bug" needs that may arise! In the past we also got infiltrated by rats. They helped eradicate the problem and we haven't had any problems since. Again, Rich came out and helped resolve the issue rather quickly, which was very important to me! read more

I used BJs for years at my previous address. My technician, Jason, was absolutely outstanding. Every time. Jason was very thorough in spraying, caring for my animals simultaneously. I appreciated that the chemicals used were supposedly animal & plant safe. When I had a specific issue arise, such as ants in particular outside area, he would come out outside of schedule and obliterated the issue. Just fabulous. I was sad when I moved from that residence recently to cancel service. Though now that I am seeing a live and a few dead roaches outdoors, I'm eager for them to open and start service again. Prices seemed fair before for every other month treatments. read more

I had this company for a year. They would randomly show up at times (pre Covid) without any phone calls, emails etc.. I complained about this--as my house is locked so they can only "do" about 30% of it and they told me they just do this as part of their service (and send you a bill)! I told them that, sometimes my baby was sleeping (when they'd come and they'd ring and wake him up :( ) and that it was really unprofessional just to show up at random times. I also had they come out and do incomplete jobs.. They no showed as well. Finally, I had enough and just finished the contract even though I had to "pay" to avoid cancellation. This is unfortunately the type of scam "contract" that is popular with pest services nowadays. read more

Worst service ever. Had set up a contract with and they agreed to show up after I got off work so they could have access to back yard always showed up early and would not come back. Tried to cancel contract because the 6 months I was with them back of house never got done still charged me full pice after only doing half of the job. read more

Don't waste your money. I had them come out to inspect my property. I showed him what I was having a problem with and he assured me they could get rid of it. After the first spay I honestly started seeing more bugs. called them out a few more times and still no change. Finally I gave up and called to cancel, well they informed me Id have to pay a ridiculous fee, on top of the services that did not even work! I have used Consumer Choice Pest Control out of Turlock for several years. A couple years ago, their company treated our house for sub-termites. The Technician Ramone performed the treatment. He did an awesome job! Very thorough and very trustworthy and knowledgeable! We have had two visits with Ramone since and each time, he was extremely schooled on how termites travel and infest a property. (and thank God still no termites!!). This is an amazing company. They are the contracted company through our property management company. I'm not sure how often they come and spray the whole property but it seems to help ALOT! A couple of times I've had to call myself and make an appointment for some issue inside our house and they generally come a few days later. But mainly I'm reviewing them is because of their employer Jason. He has to be one of the nicest guys I've come across. Every time he comes he has a welcoming smile on his face and and will work with you to try and isolate the problem. He explains everything in a way that is easily understandable. He also takes the time to talk to you about other things to put your mind at ease and also so it's not awkward when he's in your house. This is the worst company I've ever used! I've tried to cancel my service twice and they still say I'm under contract for 7 months! Well what about THEIR part of the contract?! Spoke with the receptionist on 7/30 who said they'd come and spray for the ants, spiders and rats that I still have and almost three weeks later they still havent come!! My family has used Consumer Choice for years. When we lived at another residence on the same street in the country and used this company as well. Today I finally decided to call and have some professional help with our wasp problem. Bailey answered the phone and from the time she answered she sounded annoyed like I was interrupting her. I wanted to schedule an appointment for my wasp issue. I also had a few questions. Do they spray to prevent them from coming back (is this a thing) what do they do at the service. She did not know any of that. Nor offer to get me the answers to my questions or offer me to speak to someone who knew. I needed to know all this before the person was coming out to my home. I gave her all the information and she said okay they tech will call you with a time, he will come today for an evaluation. I asked what time he was coming. She said she didn't know the schedule was already made. I replied with I need to know a time they are coming so I can make sure I'm home. She said they would have to call me. Again short notice of Ill be there on 10 minutes doesn't work for me! So I asked for another day It did not have to be today. She offered tomorrow AGAIN NO TIME and she was really annoyed. I asked her the time and she said what time do you want them to come? Again like she had an issue doing her job and providing customer service. I booked the appointment and hung up and immediately called a different company that actually cared and wanted to help. I am a little sad that we are not using BJs since we have used them in the past and my Grandma uses them monthly. I can not use a company that I have to force to help me. I also will not use a company that is rude the first initial time I speak with someone in the office. Sadly BJs has lost me as a customer. read more

My experience with this company is that they are a JOKE! They would not give me any info over the phone. They had to make an appointment. So I made an appointment. I explained to the girl that I was taking time off work and needed first thing in the morning. She gave me an 8:00 to 8:30 time slot. The tech (Jeremy) calls me about 8:30 and says he is almost there. AT 8;45 he calls back and has other issues and can we make it later in the day. So, I took time out of my busy schedule to meet with this company and they can't even make it to an appointment on time. Knowing where there office is located, he had not even left the office when he called to say he would be right there and it is a 30 minute drive from the office to my house. If you want customers, you better respect their time and be there when you make an appointment! I strongly suggest staying away from this company! read more

I give 4 stars ONLY for one main reason. Our new Service Tech!! I didn't do a full 5, for the main reason of the first tech is horrible!!! We moved into a house, that had not been treated in AT LEAST 2 years, and was, what seemed to be, taken over by black widows. I had BJ's out the second day we lived in the house, with the serviced scheduled before we even moved. Explained our concerns and made it VERY clear, I have a huge fear of black widows and my husband is allergic to wasps/bees. They walked the property while we started to pull boxes from our cars. We were told we had a black widow problem, DUH, and they would take care of it and they would be back out in a month to hit them again. 3 days after service, we found a wasp nest, active, and black widow with an egg, next to it, and one non active wasp nest, where the wasp were trying to use a bad nest that had been sprayed. When we called and had the tech come out, he seemed annoyed and even said "We sprayed everything, there can't be a nest or anything" We pointed it out, and he tried to say it was non active, whatever that means! When we pointed out the second one, he said "Oh, um, not sure how we missed that one. guess I have to spray" Geeee, Thanks! He was the one who found the black widow next the nest, and told us he killed it and smashed the egg. Week later, I found my 4 month old kitten playing with a black widow, in our master room! I smashed it with my husbands shoe, and threw the show our sliding door. Has I slide the door shit, another spider is crawling up my screen door!! Are you kidding me at this point, came screaming out of my mouth! I kill it, and call the office. Again. They come out, and lone behold, when they show up, I show him a live, crawling spider in our dinning room area. He said he will treat the inside and outside again. I say thank you, take our animals and leave. We come home an hour or so, later, and find the spider, dead, LEFT ON THE FLOOR, next to where he was, alive! At this point, my husband and I are thinking of switching companies. My husband told me, wait it out, and see if we get more spiders, if not we keep them. NEXT DAY, I find a HUGE black widow in the garage, with a huge egg. I am flipping out on the phone with one of the ladies in the office. They finally sent someone out to kill it and dispose of it, after I made it very clear they were just there not even 24 hours before, and I still had this VERY ALIVE, spider with her huge egg. That following week, I come home to a receipt, saying I was serviced and my yard was treated, and showed my invoice total. I was due to be treated/service that day, a Friday, my contract had said Monday. This day, was in agreement when signing up for service, so we would have our dog inside and back side gate unlocked for the yard to be treated. Yet, my husband was home and the back yard was not treated. my front yard was treated and that was it! I called customer service at the office next morning, to complain up the wall, left and right, to them. I was not happy, at all. I made it clear I wanted a new tech, and was tired of this problem with this tech. I mentioned every problem that had occurred!! That was Saturday, on Tuesday I still had no call back. I called and asked what was going on and expressed how fed up I was. She puts a few calls in, and says she will call me back. She calls back to say someone will be out to treat our issues soon. and what we call our Pest Angel, arrived and saved the day! He listened to EVERY SINGLE issue, concerns, problem, and walked our property with us. The service tech I had before sucked, majorly!! Myself and my husband, felt he was annoyed when we would call and have issues arise. We asked for another Tech and received an awesome, very detailed, issue solving Tech! Jason Y, was excellent! I can't begin to explain what a relief I had having him be our service tech. He addressed all my issues, my husbands concerns, and even pointed out things, he thought may be an issue or concern to us! Why hadn't our other tech thought of that? He swabbed away cob webs, THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THERE IF I WAS SERVICED JUST 4 DAYS PIOR, in front yard, and roughly a week prior in back yard. He pointed out areas he thought would be trouble areas, and advised us to use Wasp spray on any black widow that might show up, but if we noticed more then a couple, to call him back out! Why hadn't our last tech gave us that secret and offer for us to call him back out if need be!! I am still in process of waiting to speak with the head supervisor, about permanently getting a new service tech. I can only say, if I get our current/old tech, I will be complaining like crazy again. Jason is a great asset to this company, and after talking to him, we cant seem to think we will be happy with any other tech. Amazing service. He is the perfect definition to Good Customer Service. I had another service for years and they were fine until I had an ant problem, then they were MIA. Consumer's Choice came out the same day and the ants were completely gone within a day. Now I have them take care of the bugs and the weeds. I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but these folks deserve my appreciation. read more

We have been using them ever since and have been very pleased with the work they have done for us. This company is horrible they do not meet your needs the person that answers the phone Cassandra doesn't care whether your services being met not. They keep you want to contract even though they don't get rid of your bugs it is not worth going through them barely want to accommodate you if you commute far from home for a Saturday appointment.
