Based on those reviews, I decided to contact the company to ask about masonry work. On Saturday, August 1, I called and spoke with the owner, Siaosi, who also goes by George. He told me his company mainly does masonry. We scheduled an appointment for Wednesday, and he asked me to text him with my address. I did so and asked him to acknowledge that he received it, but I never received a response. On Monday, August 3, I called to confirm the appointment. He told me again to text him with the address. I explained that I had already sent it. He then said, "I'm going to hang up now. I will check it." The next day, August 4, he called me, but I missed the call. When I called back, he said his name is George. I asked whether he had called me, and he said he was not sure and that it may have been a pocket call. When I asked what company he was calling from, he hung up on me. On Wednesday, August 5, he called again asking for my address and said he was already in my area. Since I had spoken with him several times, I recognized his voice and mentioned that someone named George had hung up on me the day before. He said George is his English name. He then yelled that he does not check text messages on Saturday and screamed, "Do you still want the service or not?" I found the tone and behavior unprofessional, so I ended the call. He called back again afterward. Overall, my experience was very disappointing. The communication was inconsistent, the appointment was not properly confirmed, and the phone interactions made me uncomfortable. Based on this experience, I would not hire this company. I also question how reliable the five-star ratings are, because my experience did not match the positive reviews I saw online.

These guys are reasonable, but you have to be very careful. You have to get everything. And I mean…read moreeverything in writing. If you have a drawing, have them sign off on the drawing that they would do exactly what the drawing says. Confirm what type of Rock you will be getting. and demand it when it arrives on site. Do not let them use blue rock with the promise to stain it. Make sure all the rocks are cleaned prior to installation. Mine had mud and a lot of the rocks fell off because of that. Make sure you call for at least 6 inches of compacted gravel below grade level. Do not let them talk you out of that Get in writing how thick your wall will be. Every single dimension needs to be verified. Confirm pressure washing is with a pressure washer and not just a hole. You'll have to oversee everything to ensure you get good quality. I had to bring out my own levels because things were not level. I suggest using brown stain instead of the black stain that they recommended. Unless you want black grout. ensure they're using the correct mix of sand and concrete. A lot of mine was way too much sand and was very weak. make sure all underground utilities are marked prior to them arriving. And watch to make sure they do not dig into them. The biggest problem on my job was there was no good supervision on site. Oh, and make sure that cleaning up every day is in the contract so there's no tracks in the sidewalk and street. Good luck.

Billy had one of the most reasonable and could start the quickest but what I liked was his honesty and politeness when we talked over the project. He sent the formal quote later in the day and 2 days later he was able to start, doing the initial digging himself. He was here the following day for the leveling and form build and ordered the concrete for pouring the next working day. Start to finish it took all of 4 days. Billy does immaculate work and takes pride and care in his workmanship and I'd to also specifically point out that there's no stray concrete all over the yard. Here are my praises about hiring Mokoi at every step of the process: --Estimate and Proposal: Owner Viliami Mokoi came to inspect the work to be done, offered his recommendations from his years of experience, and put the specific descriptions of the work to be done in a written proposal (total of 4 proposals), including details I wanted to add, such as locks on the vinyl gates and installing a mailbox in the wall. I tried to obtain estimates from other contractors, but no one else was willing to do all the work such as removing roots and foliage and running underground pipes on all three sides of the house for the drainage system. --Superb Workmanship: I am still admiring the 2-tiered rock walls that are beautiful and solid (see photo). To install the underground drainage system, the crew had to use heavy equipment to excavate the jungle surrounding the house and haul in gravel to cover the pipes. The area is now clear and spacious with a hidden drainage system ready for heavy rain from hurricane and Kona low storms. Manoa rain and worker shortages caused delays in work, but the crew made up time by working hard and fast when they could. During the whole time, Vili texted to me about the progress of the work and promptly answered my questions. I am very pleased with the final products of the built walls and installed drainage system as well the patched concrete wall and leveled sidewalk. --Five Star Clean-Up: The crew hauled out all the piles of debris from the jobs and even swept up.
