This family was wonderful to work with! We had a backyard reno that seemed daunting to start and Rachel was our first point of contact for quotes. She was great with communicating and was a big reason we ended up going with Menora over other contractors. The project included excavation, building a CMU wall, extending a driveway, and building a patio. I really appreciate your efforts and dedication to finishing my family yard. Suli's team were able to complete this large project all before we had family visit during the holidays. It's truly a blessing to know and work with this small family business, especially Maka and his team, they did such an amazing job! You can tell he takes pride in his work. I look forward to working with him in the near future and can't wait to show his talents to friends and family. Thank you so much! read more

Time: How long does it take to find and interview a dependable masonry contractor? After a two-week search, I selected Menora Masonry from four bids for my December 2024 retaining wall and drainage project. Suli, the owner, ran the mini excavator and ensured efficient teamwork during excavator operations Sione was pure strength. He did a lot of the excavating and put up new posts and gates. A lot was accomplished because he had a good work ethic and was trustworthy in every way. Younger Sione, Suli's nephew, executed precise bricklaying while others managed cement mixing. He rebuilt the failing wall sections and also a leaning column with great precision. Task on December 11, 2024: To replace the weak sections of my retaining wall that held the terraced front area of my property. Then run 80 feet of perforated PVC pipe underground along it to relieve the pressure of excess water into an adjoining swale easement. In addition, water in my back garden area, weathered by mauka wind and rain, would pool and seep beneath the slab of my house. Menora jackhammered part of the old walkway and created slope for the water to empty into the same swale easement and away from the foundation. They also built a raised cement barrier along the house. Communication: An area of improvement could have been reviewing our understanding of the planned work in intervals. While communication could improve with mid-project checkpoints (especially during garden water mitigation), post-work cleanup with Suli's son, Suli Jr., revealed excellent attention to detail. The January 2025 storm validated their work - both wall stability and drainage performed flawlessly under heavy wind and rain. I had complete peace of mind for my neighbors below that the wall would hold and not cause damage; and that the garden-side rain would not pool towards the house. I truly appreciate the hard work and effort on the part of Menora Masonry and highly recommend them! read more

Business contacted me with a polite apology and refund for my first 50% payment on the fence work. The merchant fees were $35 less and all, but it was a solid apology and customer service response. Updated some stars for a business that at least stands behind its values for customer service. As for why this happened... and will it happen to smaller jobs like mine is to be determined. To the owners, please never consider who ever you sent twice to my job. All the best! read more

I contacted Menora Masonry to extend my driveway and to make walkways alongside the house. My point of contact was Suli Sr., which was the number listed on Yelp. Suli Sr. arranged an in-person survey at my house. I discussed my ideas but I really didn't get any feedback on how the construction plan was going to be. He gave me a verbal quote. His quote was almost half of 3 other quotes I got from different companies. I asked for a proposal and formal written quote multiple times. I never received it. I even contacted Suli Jr. who told me his father will email me that quote. I got ghosted. I guess they underbid the project and therefore did not want to follow through. I do not recommend doing business with this unprofessionalism. read more

Menora Masonry did a fantastic job restoring our 90+ year old wall after it was hit by a bus and damaged by roots/erosion. Suli and his team recreated the original wall and restored the historic parts that remained, including lifting up the wall's pillar which made it a much more difficult job. Menora Masonry clearly knows how to build things right, whether its an old building technique or more modern ones, they were able to problem solve and get the job done on time. Menora was very fair in their estimate and stuck to the original agreement even when the scope of work had to change slightly. Suli was always very responsive and was able to answer any questions. I'm certain our job was relatively small compared to what their team can do but Suli and his son Maka still gave us plenty of attention. They are a great family business and I can't recommend them enough! read more

Within a day of posting a note on Yelp for a vinyl fence Menora Masons responded and gave me a quote. Came over a few days later and confirmed it and got our vinyl fence up in about 4 days. Very friendly and hard working. Even though our job wasn't very big; only around 16 feet long they still gave it there all and it was a job well done. What better way to write my 100th review then for a wonderful company that is run by and employs awesome people. A long overdue but well deserved review. Menora Masonry is a locally family owned, generational business. Suli Jr., Suli Sr., Maka, Mosese, Ben, John, Lepi, Snoop, and everyone else are incredible. I've gotten to know them over the last few years through several projects and they're as honest, hardworking, professional, talented, responsive and reliable as they come. Their customer service is topnotch; I can always count on Suli to respond fairly quickly and, if there is an issue he'll make it right. On top of that, Menora Masonry has some serious talent. They have specialists for every type of wall build you may need. Suli Sr. is one of the OGs of the trade, is also an architect, and is one of, if not the best CMU and rock wall builder I've ever seen. It was neat seeing Suli Sr., Suli Jr. and everyone else in action. They take their work seriously and can build walls properly, quickly and of high quality. Prior to working with them I received several quotes from other contractors. I met with Suli Jr. last; he immediately understood my vision and provided his recommendations on them. In addition he provided a competitive rate, had solid references and gave me reassurance everything would turn out fine. Menora Masonry is full of talent, professionalism, and good workmanship. They can do it all; vinyl, CMU, rock wall, chain link, gates, etc. There has been one ongoing issue with my vinyl posts loosening up. BUT, when I have contacted Suli Jr., he has ALWAYS sends his workers out to fix their work. That, to me, means a lot. As I write this, there are 2-3 loose vinyl posts that I'll have to contact Suli Jr. to fix. Making it right goes a long way in establishing a great partnership. In addition, I've referred them to a few neighbors and family. A couple of them have already utilized their services and are all satisfied. Businesses like these are truly a gem and they are in great hands under the direction of Suli Jr. and co. read more

I can't be more impressed with Menora Masonry... Our old lava rock retaining wall was failing and every contractor I talked to said the price to repair or rebuild was ridiculously high and not within any sort of budget we had.  I decided to check out Yelp and Sulimoa from Menora Masonry responded so quickly, it surprised me.  He came over that day to check out the job and he gave me an estimate right then and there.  The price was so reasonable to us we shook hands and they started the job just a few days later - we were so stoked!  We did our research with our general contractor and they were indeed licensed, bonded and insured so we knew everything would be all good ;).   Well, as the job progressed and we saw how quickly they worked we kept expanding the job from just a rebuild to excavate into the hill 3', then 6', then we added some epic looking stairs, added irrigation on the Ewa side of the house, they repaired the wall out front, built an awesome lava rock mailbox, and even pulled out some giant fruit and palm trees that were in the way.  They never flinched at any request given and took care of the jobs in a timely manner all with an amazing price!   On top of all of that, the entire crew are just awesome, hard working guys and I give mad respect for their work ethic and craft!  Menora Masonry exceeded our expectations over and over again and I would highly recommend them to everyone! read more

Menora Masonry removed an old tile wall and chain link fence combo and replaced it with a white vinyl fence. It was a tricky job because they had to match the existed fence which took some modifications by building up the the bottom with a concrete footer before the did the fence. They did an awesome job. We are considering them for a demo and redo of a concrete slab. We would recommend! read more

My wife and I always wanted a sidewalk on the side of the house so i decided to do research through yelp to observe concrete work. After a couple of weeks of researching masonry companies Menora Masonry caught my attention, the business had over 1000 photos of their past work posted on yelp. From the reviews I read and all of the photos of their work I decided to call owner Suli. Suli and I agreed and the project began. When Suli arrived I observed my wife talking to Suli and observed Suli measuring a large area on our property. I immediately became nervous because it was an addition to the sidewalk. My wife informed me of the idea she had and I agreed. When the concrete truck arrived I was amazed by the workers. Watching them work was comparable to watching a symphony orchestra, everyone was in tune and worked in unison. (Bravo). Suli and his professional team of masons completed the work. We live central Oahu and it rains frequently, rained the day after the concrete was poured and absolutely no puddles. Menora Masonry are experts in masonry projects. I work with all types of people daily and Suli and his team of professionals were very polite, friendly, respectful and masters of their craft. My wife and I highly recommend Menora Masonry. The value for the money is outstanding. If you took the time to read my review your probably thinking of your next project. Don't hesitate to reach out to Suli for a quote. read more

Menora Masonry - Menora Masonry team in action. Excellent work. - Masonry/Concrete Near Me

Menora Masonry is AWESOME... They're extremely professional, definitely experienced, very efficient and truly honorable people. I inherited this property along with all the existing issues, troubles and headaches that goes with older homes and properties. * Issue: During heavy rain, surface water from the concrete backyard would flow down towards the structure and flood the basement from under the structure upwards. * Resolution: Suli Sr. and Team made curbs and slabs alongside the house structure to divert the surface water from the backyard to the front of the house and then onto the street. Looks solid! Now we await for a downpour or heavy rain (crossing our fingers) and hoping this solves our problem. * Recommend: HIGHLY! Suli Jr. was very responsive and thorough with any questions and/or concerns I had. They provided quality workmanship, efficiency and within budget. read more

After my rock wall was damaged by a car, I was contacted by many people who wanted to fix it. But I was not sure how reliable they would be since they only wanted me to pay cash and had no real business information. I contacted Menora Masonry since I saw the Yelp reviews. Rachel responded in a few days and requested photos and measurements of the damaged area. They were able to give me an estimate and an invoice online. No consultation fee. I was able to schedule the repair on my own time due to weather concerns and travel. The wall was completed as scheduled in one day by Maka! Also cleaned up the rocks and debris after the job was done. I am very satisfied with the results and will call them in the future if needed. They also took credit card, which was great. Suli, was extremely courteous, respectful and very quick to respond. Even in the early morning hours he took time to answer my questions and respond. his price was more than reasonable and I definitely would recommend him to others. I requested a wooden fence to be built on a 3ft brick wall on one side of the property, to extend a brick wall on the other and to rebuild/secure a retaining wall on the lower half of the property. I specifically asked to rebuild the retaining wall in a way that could be "usable" for my tenants. Suli was a pleasure to work with, very generous and expedient with the work. He was competitive with his prices, flexible and arrived at the same time everyday. I contacted him on 09/30/20 and he viewed the property the same day. He and his crew started working on 10/02/20 and finished 99% of the work 10/08/20 and he came back 10/10/10 for minor touch ups. Suli even finished some details that a previous mason had not completed for me! The only complaint I had was that some of the crew were smoking on the property, but aside from that the work was great. I would absolutely call Suli again for more concrete projects. We had a difficult time finding someone to put in new gates for my aunt's home because contractors usually prefer larger projects. We couldn't get back in touch with any of the other contractors we contacted, but the price Menora Masonry gave us was half of what the others quoted anyway! (the support walls were cracked, so new supports needed to be installed so most fence companies needed to find someone to build the supports. The transactions were professional and the contacts were friendly and helpful. Rachel set up an appointment to get the area measured and Moses came to measure the area and sent us a quote saying that it would take about 4 days to complete. After setting up the supports in about 3 hours, they returned a couple of days later and finished installing both gates. The gates they installed were even nicer than the original ones. They saw that my aunt's wall is deteriorating, so they even offered suggestions to address the problem. Fantastic job, Menora! read more

Called Suli, owner of Menora Masonry. He is honestly one of the best person I've ever met. A backstory before I give my review of Menora Masonry and Mr. Suli Taufalele, A couple of weeks ago (Late January), I contracted with a Kula Contractor, Mr. Tevita Taliauli (aka: David Taliauli; Sikula David Taliauli) to repair my backyard fence. It was a hybrid fence (masonry base and between the columns redwood). I made a partial payment of $4K to Mr. Taliauli for the purchase of materials towards the fence repair. This individual with two people working for him - an elderly man, Solomone Toloke and the other a caucasion gentleman started taking down the fence. He and his crew worked a couple of hours before they called it a day. That was Tuesday, 25 January. Mr. Taliauli has since failed to show to finish the fencing project and it has been a nightmare trying to get the $4K he scammed out of me. I was mad and cautious in getting another contractor to finish what Taliauli left. It took me a week of researching BBB, DCCA and YELP to find Menora Masonry and what I learn was, Mr. Suli Taufalele who owned this company was honest and informative. He helped calmed my fears from dealing with someone like Tevita Tailiauli; to trusting him, Suli who was willing to work with me. The YELP reviews of Menora Masonry were amazing and had a lot of 5-star reviews and Suli is in good standing with DCCA, which sealed the deal for me and my wife. He gave me an estimate of what he could do to repair and finish my fencing project; and he provided me a proposal that I could show to my wife, which helped us in hiring Menora Masonry. Suli estimated four days to complete the fencing project but he did it in two. I can attest to the quality of work and materials Suli used for my fencing project. Suli and his company, Menora Masonry deserve my 5-star review. read more

I originally called to get an estimate to repair two spots in our garage. I needed to replace the spalling sections for a two post car lift. I called the number after reading several positive reviews for Menora Masonry. Suli answered and the next day sent his father to look at the project. As I talked with this father I asked if he could give me an estimate to replace an aged wooden fence. He said sure! and took measurements. While he was measuring the fence I asked if he would be able to add a slab in an area between our garage and wall. Again he replied no problem and wrote all the measurements on his hand. That night I got an email from Suli with what I thought was a great price, consulted Suli a little over email and text and within a couple days Suli called and said he had an opening and started on the 100 foot fence. While looking at the project I added on another small section of concrete slab and Suli was very fair on the price and had no problem filling my request. I screwed up on the height of the fence and asked Suli if he could cut down a section. He again replied with "no problem, we kinda anticipated that" I told him it was my fault so I'll pay the difference for more labor and material. Suli said just pay for material... In the end I have the garage floor repaired and a whole new usable 100 feet of property on one side of the house that can now be used and not bother our neighbor thanks to the new privacy fence. Concrete slab section makes a much more useable area behind the garage. Suli is very easy to work with and all this was done in a total of 3 days. His crew is all family and friendly. Very hard work workers and fast. Thank you guys! Do I recommend Menora Masonry??? YUP! read more
