I hired a contractor in April 2025 to put a concrete stamp on the walkway leading to my house. The…read morejob also included staining and sealing it. The stamp looks awesome, but unfortunately the person the contractor sub-contracted the staining and sealing portion of the project to became unavailable, so the contractor and I mutually agreed I would get someone else to finish the job. I re-advertised what I needed on Yelp, and that is when I unfortunately hired Nohealani Masonry Contractor in early May. I provided the owner with a picture of what we were looking for, and he worked diligently to get as close to the picture as possible, and although his finished product looked nothing like the picture, we said we liked his work, and we gave him the approval to seal it, and that is when the nightmare began. Just prior to sealing, he started showing up around 6:00 pm (if he showed up at all), so by the time he started applying the sealant on May 16, 2025 it was getting dark, so he applied the sealant in about 5 - 10 minutes (if that) and told me to give it a couple of days to dry. I attempted to pay him the balance with a cashier's check on that day, but he did not want to take it, and he asked for cash instead, so on May 17, 2025 I paid him the balance (in cash at his request). About two days later, I looked at the project (pictures attached) and there were all kinds of white patches and white specs on two thirds of the project, and it looks awful. When I paid him the balance, the contractor promised me he would promptly fix any issues regarding the project as soon as he was notified. After I noticed all the specs and splotches, I began calling and texting the contractor on May 19, 2025, and I am still waiting for him to honor his word more than two months later. Each time he said he was coming to fix the issues to complete the project, he did not show up and did not even bother to contact me to let me know he was not going to show up, and when I was able to get in touch with him, he gave me excuse after excuse as to why he did not show up. The last time I talked to him was July 5, 2025 (because he promised to come, and once again, he did not). I have had it with this "contractor", and I would never hire him again for anything. If you want someone to do a rush job, and then abandon you after he is paid (even when additional work needs to be done to complete the project), someone who never keeps their word, and someone you have to continually chase to finish the job he they were paid to do, this contractor may be right for you. But if you want a contractor that is reliable and treats all their jobs like a priority (big or small), I highly recommend you look elsewhere and do not hire this "contractor".

Clearing out the old garden and preparing the area for new concrete. In one day the old garden was gone. The next morning they came and cleaned up all the debris, trash and dirt. He started the business over 40 years ago and had prior rockwall experience in Inglewood California before moving to beautiful Hawaii. William was very sincere and patient in explaining to me the condition of my wall and what needed to be done. He reminded me of my dad who also started his business over 40 years ago in residential construction. Later, I met with owner Sione who I originally spoke with over the phone when scheduling the first consultation. Sione is well-spoken, and as busy as he is -- I appreciate him staying in communication via text or answering my call since other rockwall companies fell short. Sione grew up with many years in the rockwall business and learned from his family. Sione was also willing to work with my budget and I understood the high quality of work I'd receive from All Phase. Sione, the owner, was very responsive from the start--he replied quickly to our Yelp inquiry and made scheduling a meet-and-greet and wall assessment easy. He was professional, easy to work with, and took the time to explain the condition of the wall. He also recommended a couple of repair options and clearly walked us through each, which made the decision process much easier. Here are my praises about hiring Mokoi at every step of the process: --Estimate and Proposal: Owner Viliami Mokoi came to inspect the work to be done, offered his recommendations from his years of experience, and put the specific descriptions of the work to be done in a written proposal (total of 4 proposals), including details I wanted to add, such as locks on the vinyl gates and installing a mailbox in the wall. I tried to obtain estimates from other contractors, but no one else was willing to do all the work such as removing roots and foliage and running underground pipes on all three sides of the house for the drainage system. --Superb Workmanship: I am still admiring the 2-tiered rock walls that are beautiful and solid (see photo). To install the underground drainage system, the crew had to use heavy equipment to excavate the jungle surrounding the house and haul in gravel to cover the pipes. The area is now clear and spacious with a hidden drainage system ready for heavy rain from hurricane and Kona low storms. Manoa rain and worker shortages caused delays in work, but the crew made up time by working hard and fast when they could. During the whole time, Vili texted to me about the progress of the work and promptly answered my questions. I am very pleased with the final products of the built walls and installed drainage system as well the patched concrete wall and leveled sidewalk. --Five Star Clean-Up: The crew hauled out all the piles of debris from the jobs and even swept up. I hired Blessed Construction LLC to build a retaining wall in my front yard, and I'm really happy…read morewith how everything turned out. The area next to the steps and along the front of the house needed a retaining wall to hold the soil and clean up the slope. Their crew came out, walked the space with me, and explained how they would build the wall and shape the curve so it would look natural with the yard and the house. They also talked about the base and drainage so it would hold up long-term. The work itself was done efficiently and the crew was easy to work with. They prepped the base, set the blocks carefully, and made sure the curve of the wall flowed nicely along the front of the yard instead of just building a straight line. They kept the job site pretty clean and checked in along the way to make sure everything looked right. The finished wall looks great and really improves the front of the house. It's solid, level, and the curve gives the landscaping a much cleaner look than what was there before. Overall, a very positive experience. If you need retaining wall or landscaping work done, Blessed Construction LLC is definitely worth considering.
