He was able to brainstorm with us to help us imagine a completely new yard. He gave us ideas that we would either agree or disagree with. Once we had a general idea, Jeff was able to create a digital rendering of both our front and backyard so we were actually able to see his vision and know what we could expect the finished product to look like. For the early stages of the project Angel was the primary foreman of the job. Angel was very friendly and respectful. He would give us updates on what they would be doing for the next couple of days, or if they wouldn't be coming due to weather conditions. As a client this was great because we never had to wonder whether the contractors were coming or not. Our Project consisted of removing existing cement pavers and vegetation. And installation of new turf, irrigation system, and vinyl fence. JBL took care of hauling away all the old materials and bringing all the new materials/plants for our project. Jeff was more than fair to us and he worked with us to make sure we were satisfied with how it turned out. That was over a month ago. Now he won't answer my phone calls. He has no showed twice when he was supposed to clean it up. I've used other concrete contractors in the past and it's a very different experience. He did pour the concrete though, so there is that. Maka submitted a proposal to demo 5 single family dwelling units, total lot clearance and rough…read moregrade on an agreed price. He demo'ed the houses and did not hauled any of the debris. He lied about the progress of the work and asked for payment without completing the work under the agreement within the timeframe promised. Weeks and months have gone by and the work was still incomplete. Basically, this was a breach of contract and he failed to perform the agreed-upon work as outlined in the contract. For months, he was unresponsive despite multiple attempts to communicate to either finish the work or refund the payments made. After 5 months, he finally responded stating that he'll set up a repayment schedule to return the funds due to the breach of contract. Another 4 months have gone by and he has yet to repay any of the advance payments made. During those 4 months, multiple demands were made for the refund of payments made. He has been unresponsive. To date, 9 months later, he has failed to return the payments made. No effort at all to even set up a repayment schedule. His conduct has been unprofessional, unreliable, and has caused significant financial and personal inconvenience. I trusted him and paid him in advance when he asked for more money stating that he needed more funds to cover the rental equipment and pay his people. Never again with Maka. I plan to file a formal complaint with the appropriate licensing board and the BBB.
