Ordered the napa and it was impressive. It has a bit of a kick and I loved. Very good turkey

To Ike A.: Though sometimes harsh, my reviews are never written to be hurtful. I am glad you'll consider my critique. I understand you cannot give unlimited samples. But as a new customer, I was disappointed I could not taste more of your selection. What if I didn't like the two free samples? You might lose a customer if they base it on those two. I would definitely like to try your sandwiches the next time I'm in town! Thank you! Catalina read more

Bite - Delis Near Me - San Francisco, California

I've eaten here three of four times now and each time I go, I tell myself I'm going to order something new but I always end up ordering the Moshe Moshe. It's so delicious! Everything is so fresh and yummy! To make things even better, the owner (I'm assuming he's the owner) is so friendly and great- I always end up having ten minutes conversations with him while I wait for my sandwich to be made. One time he accidentally put cheese on my sandwich- when I told him it was no big deal, he insisted on making me a new one and giving both my finance and I a soda to drink while we waited. It's a bit expensive for a sandwich- usually around $20 for both my finance and I with a bag of chips (also so yummy...I must get the name of the brand) but it's worth it! Also, the outside seating (when you can get it) it great! read more

As a person who really likes sandwiches....I found this place. Well alright. After carefully reading another review on here I decided one drunken Friday night to make a stop before the apartment to pick up a sandwich or two. I preface this paragraph by mentioning I either did not see a sign that says "bite" from the road or I was too drunk to see it. What I DID see was a gigantic menu with sandwiches on it and a few people waiting in the foyer. I order the Kookooroo, on the special Dutch bread because there's no asterisk. I start my journey back and by the time I get home I am famished. I try to eat the dry chicken covered in pesto and because I'm so hungry I scarf it down without much notice. The bread is so thick I barely taste the rest of the sandwich and need a giant glass of water to get it down. I'm not saying the sandwich is bad, it's just not the best I've had. Although, with the amount of the bread they give you it's great for a post-drinking meal, or preventing a hangover. read more

The gouda good was da bomb. Went in right when they opened. Friendly all female staff. The bread was so fresh and crispy. The sauce only increased the overall flavor of the sammich. They have 2 tables for outdoor seating. Was top 3 favorite sammich. read more

Bite - Entrance - Delis Near Me - San Francisco, California

A million times better than similar shops like Ike's and more reasonably priced as well. It does take a little bit of time for them to make your sandwich, but it's only because they make it fresh and there's usually a line. Also, sandwiches are huge and can easily be split or used to put someone in a deep food coma. My favorites are the Branding Iron and Mama Mia but my roommate swears by the Gouda Good. While I've never done it, their whole chicken prices look super reasonable. Also a fan that they're open late! read more

I have DREAMS about this place!!!! The place is inviting because the wonderful people that work there are helpful and one i always run into is always smiling! It's nice to be surrounded by smiles..The place feels more home-y. and warm! I went for the Gouda Good. and oh sweet baby jesus I think i was tweeking out for a good 5 min trying to process how good it really was! The gouda good's got slices of tomatoes in it, onions, the cheese is melted right against the chewy, soft textured rotisserie chicken. The chicken isn't shredded chopped up chicken, but if you are from the Midwest and had Panera Bread's Chicken Cesar Sandwich before, the texture of the chicken is almost comparable to that of Bites. soooooooooooooo GOOOD. The portion of the sandwich is huge! and a side order of fries is $1 with a sandwich, good deal.. The sauce they use has a hint of Dijon i believe, probably some mayo, and I'm not sure what else, but the sauce they use on this sandwich is what brings the sandwich to life! ughhh GOUDA GOOD WHY MUST YOU BE SOOOOOOOO GOOD! read more

Awesome rotisserie chicken sandwiches, wraps or solo. Make your own or go with their combinations - there is no wrong choice. The outdoor seating is shared with the place next door so you can sit and eat. read more

This is definitely the quintessential hole in the wall amazing find restaurant. The most guys I've ever seen behind the counter is three, and the whole place is probably about the size of a small studio apartment. But they're food is AMAZING!! Literally the best sandwich shop I've found in this city. Also they are reasonably priced, so you aren't breaking the bank for quality. My personal recommendation would be the Love Affair (a very appropriate name given how delicious it is!) it sounds like an exaggeration, I know, but I legitimately don't remember the last time I had a sandwich that good. This place is definitely worth checking out. It's easy to miss, but well worth taking the extra time to find. read more

Their business hours say they're open until 2 am, I stopped by around midnight and they're closed. Either stick to your business hours or update them. read more

OMG it always smells so good whenever I walk past the shop. They have great sandwiches and rotisserie chicken. You can either select one of their sandwiches or make one yourself by filling out a form. There are a few tables outside where you can people watch and enjoy your sandwiches or you can always walk to Union Square and enjoy your food there. They have a kids menu and their pb&j had slices of apples in it. They also have a fair amount of vegetarian sandwiches. It can get pretty busy during prime hours but their sandwiches are worth the wait. read more

Understaffed and they don't listen very well. When they realized they forgot the toppings I asked for they gave me all of them on the side versus putting them on the sandwich. The sides are way overpriced. I also agree with the other reviews that the bread is low quality, maybe even day old stock. read more

This is my go to place for a hot sandwich. I have a secret love affair with this place. Everything is fresh and made to order, so it can take a bit to get your sandwich. There are plenty of choices and a make your own option. Their portions are huge, although it can be good for 2 meals but why save it when its so delicious that all you want to do is inhale your meal. I love the bread, I wish I knew where it came from (its not baked in house). My only disappointment was the Porky's Revenge, the pork was overcooked. But that is also sorta my fault, this place is know for their chicken and I went off to try the pork... read more

A local gem. I got hungry and was looking for a quick bite. That place is small but man it smells good. Known for their rotisserie chicken. You can have it in sandwiches, salads. There are other types of meat. I've got the route 66 salad which was super delicious. read more

I've tried just about everything on the menu here. I love the leafy gallina, and the porky's revenge sandwich with sour cream instead of bbq sauce. This place lets you customize your sandwich/salad which is great. You can also call in to order ahead and they have your order ready within 10 min. Awesome. read more

No none-sense whole in the wall sandwich place that serves fantastic roasted chicken sandwiches. Usually get the gouda good, but others are all pretty fantastic. The chicken based sandwich are definitely the way to go, as the other more traditional deli meat sandwiches I've had are just ok. Highly recommend calling ahead your order as the wait could be a bit during peak hours. read more

I love Bite. Simple as that. I went there all through college and even when I lived across the street I never got tired of it. I'm the make your own sandwich girl and it's rare that I find the perfect combination. I miss Bite so much since I've moved. Nothing compares. Nothing like Bite at 12am ;) read more

If you're looking for high quality this is not your place. Low quality all around and over priced for what you get, one of the biggest wastes of $14.50 for a sandwich. Paid $2 extra for the wimpiest one strip of bacon. $1.40 extra for avocado and there is seriously one tiny sliver of avocado. The rest of the sandwich is mediocre to just ok and you can tell the person making it doesn't care about making good good at all. You're much better off going to Blue Barn ok Polk St. or Whole Foods on California St. read more

Order literally just didn't come...lol I ordered a sandwich, waited for an hour and a half before calling in to make sure it was still coming. Was assured that it would come within 15 minutes. Waited another 30 and it just never came lol :/ read more

Sandwiches not so great anymore. Food often not available on time or at all. They close before their stated hours. They've really gone downhill. Hope they can get back on track. I'd give 1-star, but they used to be good, so 2 stars out of nostalgia. read more

Went here for lunch on the first day we were in San Francisco. This is a SMALL sandwich place and you sit on the sidewalk with you sandwich. The food is great and make to order. Great food and great service, but be prepared to take-out. read more

This place has sandwiches for like 8 bucks which is very solid. The sandwiches are definitely better than Subway. It is quite filling, but it does like like 5 minutes to make a sandwich. They ran out of rotisserie chicken for sandwiches when I was there at 10 pm, but they still sold the chicken whole. That was a little disappointing, but I couldn't complain about the sandwich. It was very good. read more

Hard to hate on your local sandwich shops- dutch crunch w/ the gouda good is a solid choice here.

I'm a regular customer - Bite never fails to impress me. The Firecracker is the spiciest sandwich I've ever had. Thank you for making great sandwiches and keep up the incredible work! read more

Bite is such a solid spot for sandwiches. I find myself there more often than actually making other choices locally for lunch and sometimes dinner. I'm commonly a Gigolo fan w/o the roasted tomatoes. Pretty much my go to but at this point... I've had probably 80% of the sandwich menu and I haven't been let down yet. My GF loves the salads too. I haven't utilized the bulk-buy scenario but I know they sell meats in bulk too so if you're into that - do it. Always my go to. Great place. read more

They serve so many different sandwiches and wraps you really can't make up your mind! And they're all good!! They open late so that's always a plus! Their service is quick and fast and their portions are quite big! read more

Couldn't hope for more in a sandwich shop! I came here with my sister on a Sunday afternoon. We were roaming the low nob for a place to pick up a sandwich and then head to a park to sit and eat since it was a beautiful sunny day in the city! The food rocked! I got the vegetarian bite and my sister got the last night's turkey dinner. Both were awesome. Mine however had hummus, roasted red peppers, sundried tomatoes, pickles, onions, marinated mushrooms...oh man, what a treat. After we walked up some hills to get to the park we were stopped by another group on a park bench wondering where we got the excellent looking sandwiches :) we directed them your way. Look in the bag- oop a lollipop too! read more

Love love love this place. Sandwiches are great, service is great! Been coming here since they opened and live in the hood. The Gouda Good could become a national sandwich ;] My only criticism is that the German potato salad they offered when they first opened is no more. After a while they switched to a mayo-based potato salad which was still good and I ate it all the time, but recently they changed it again. This time it is mixed with the same dressing as traditional macaroni salad. It's that tangy, but sweet dressing. And I think it's a mistake. I ordered it once and threw it away. Please please please bring back the original German-style! It's was the bomb!!! Thank you very much and keep making great sandwiches! Lots of love! read more

Nice neighborhood deli! The first time I went in, the kid at the counter was a bit off-putting but service since has been great. I love the make-your-own sandwich forms. I love just telling them what I want, without the weird looks, repeated orders, and judgment (real or imagined!). Last time we were in, we were waiting for our sandwiches and talking about how we should try the horseradish cheddar next time we came in. The guy behind the counter overheard us and out came a tasty sample. Great stuff and with the kind of service I appreciate! I still want to try their meatball sandwich.... read more

Amazing sandwiches and its open late. If you're looking for a late night craving buster or you just took a long "nap" due to jetlag and need dinner, then find your way to Bite for a great sandwich. Almost a five star experience except that 1) the guy forgot my German potato salad and 2) the chili was more like tomato and bean soup. Get the pastrami - great stuff when you get it with "everything." read more

They're known for the sandwiches but I can't comment on that since I don't eat bread often. Cobb Salad (3.5/5) - A middle of the road Cobb salad in terms of quality. It sticks the script of romaine, a few avocado slices, So fresh and moist chicken pulled from the rotisserie chicken! I don't eat a lot of pork these days, but I am a sucker for bacon as a seasoning or side. The bacon was limp, chewy fat without flavor, ended up taking a bite and discarding the rest. Rotisserie Chicken (4/5) - Meat was tender and very juicy. Highlight was the skin on it was amazing - crisp, char, and herb seasoning. On the salty side but good. Totally reasonable prices, open late, would definitely order again. read more

Went to Bite for the first time this evening around 8pm, we live two blocks from the place. There were no other customers, It took them about 3 min before we were acknowledged. When we were acknowledged the woman simply said " what do you want." We placed our order and when she was done with our transaction she was extremely rude. She slammed the reciept and pen down for us to sign and practically tossed our copy on the counter. Did not even say thank you and she walked away. It's a shame, the food was good but we will not return. read more

Delicious food great service refreshing to find such a small place that delivers outstanding service

So far I really like this place for two reasons: a. the late hours are perfect for my drinking THEN eating schedule and 2. the pepper sauce. Seriously, I don't care what sandwich you make me, if you put that stuff on it I'm gonna be a happy camper. read more

DELICIOUS sandwiches. The only reason I take one star off is because they're pretty slow, despite never being all that busy and usually having 3 people working in a pretty small shop. I've never ordered anything but the Day After Thanksgiving sandwich, which is exactly what it sounds like. Add jalapeños to your sandwich for some extra spice and you won't be let down. A little on the pricy side, but you absolutely get what you pay for... the sandwiches are huge! read more

We needed something quick bite between HH and comedy show, so we pre-ordered some sandwiches to pick up. (Good thing cuz place is just an order counter) - Gouda Good: Rotisserie Chicken (they subbed in Turkey since their chicken had run out), Gouda Cheese, Pepperhouse Sauce on Dutch Crunch. --- really really good. sandwich was huge too. I think with rotisserie chicken it would have been even better. - Tree Sitter: Sprouts, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Avocado, Eggs, Fresh Mozzarella, Honey Mustard on Rye Bread. --- we rarely eat just veggie sandwiches but this version is so loaded full of stuff you don't miss the meat. the honey mustard gives it a touch of sweetness that is a nice surprise. We gobbled up both so quickly that we'll have to go back to enjoy them more slowly, and with rotisserie. $8 per sandwich. Good for sharing. read more
