I ate here recently for my birthday. The service was absolutely wonderful. The food was delightful. Truly one of the best meals I've had in years. Everyone else at my table enjoyed their meals. I just wish they'd move to downtown Milford! They didn't rush us out after we ate, which is surprising because they don't make money off the alcohol being BRB. I'm not a cake person, but the chocolate cake they brought out for us to share, was perfect. The only constructive criticism I can give, is that inside is pretty loud. Very disappointing. Leaving my experience out of it. People in the local community fb group complain often of bad food and bad service and for some reason the post keep getting deleted. I don't like when a restaurant blocks opinions rather than addressing them. Ordered pasta that included chicken. They have lots of add ons so when my husband's meal arrived and it didn't have chicken I told him I didn't hear him add it on. We thought he forgot but when we got the bill we realized it was built into the cost and chicken was included. We brought it up to the server and she stated she could get us a chicken breast to go but were planning on going out afterwards and we didn't want it sitting in the car. I asked if the price of the chicken could be deducted from the meal and she said "sorry it's not an add on so there's nothing I can do about it." I told her this was horrible customer service and as a business, the cost should be adjusted or the meal should be comped because it was their mistake. She said she can't do that and I asked to speak to the manager. It took 15 minutes to get a manager and she said the same thing "the price is the same whether you get chicken or not and unfortunately it's not an add on thing so I can't take it off." Their argument didn't make any sense. I said this is absolutely ridiculous customer service because it was their mistake and after getting nowhere with a lot of back and forth, I said I'd be happy to write a yelp review based on this. She said "okay go for it." It's pathetic that a business manager would be so worried about the $22 for the meal that they did not fully provide. I told her I didn't want a free meal but something off so horrible customer service for not even providing that. Is it really worth a terrible review for a $22 mistake on your end? I had been wanting to try Bite for a while and followed them on social media. I like the concept of farm to table, growing a lot of their goodies in the warm months, and inventive dishes. Then they had a fire, during the pandemic, and were closed for a bit. Finally theyre back and I was waiting for just the right daily special to pop up and it finally did. Their outdoor patio was not open yet, so we opted to get several items for take out, as inside is a bit small. I called in the order via phone. We arrived and the place was hopping. There is ample parking on the sides and behind the main building. During warm months they have a huge outdoor patio which is a big part of the draw here. I ran in and the order was ready at the time promised. The staff was very nice despite being so busy. We got the Crawfish po-boy special with a side of blue cheese coleslaw. The veggies were fresh, the bun was yummy, and seriously the crawfish were to die for. So was the sauce, although being take out it might have been nice if that was on the side and not already on the sandwich. I was not a fan of the coleslaw but my friend was. The next dish was the chicken piccata over fettucine with a side of seasonal veggies and a slice of homemade bread. It was good as the chicken was tender, the pasta al dente, and plenty of capers and lemon. I was underwhelmed by the seasonal veggies, they were fresh but not much flavor. The bread was great. For dessert we got the passion fruit tart, which I could eat for eternity. Every component had its own unique flavor to bring to the table. This was honestly my favorite part of the meal. We also got the donuts with homemade blackberry sauce. This was another favorite that had such great flavors. Keep an eye on their social media for daily specials! The avocado cream... I could eat it out of a jar by it's self! I would love to have the recipe for it! We started with the Brie, apple, walnut flatbread & local honey & it was so perfectly & deliciously balanced with savory & sweet & the bread & honey pulled it all together beautifully! We also got the Tomato Basil Pistou soup & it was on point! The soup was perfectly creamy & flavorful with the perfect amount of Basil Pistou! My husband doesn't even like tomato soup & he really liked it!! It was simply delicious! My husband got the Center cut brined pork chops & they were so tender, juicy, perfectly cooked & delicious! The house salad with balsamic vinaigrette, again just delicious!!! You could tell the carrots were not store bought & the tomatoes, arugula, sprouts, etc., it was all so fresh & flavorful!!! My husband got the Mexican donuts with chocolate drizzle, to go, although he tried one before we left and he said they were AMAZING!!!! This is one of our new favorite restaurants!!! I highly recommend! This place is an absolute gem. Stopped here for lunch with my wife because we hadn't been for a while. Got the superfood salad with blueberry salmon which is fantastic. I was excited to try Bite and I enjoyed the aesthetic. However there were a couple of things I didn't like. I ordered the wings with "Swamp Witch" dry rub. So I really hate to only give them 2 stars. I will say I first tried Bite last year and it was amazing! I told everyone, probably some of the best food I've ever tasted. I returned back a few weeks ago and I was so so disappointed. When making the reservation, we were told we had the table for 1.5 hours. Totally fine, they get busy. This was when Ohio was having amazingly warm weather and their patio wasn't open. A little odd, the inside is small and by the time we left it was insanely loud in there. Our server was new, had to keep leaving the table to go ask someone questions.They were out of deviled eggs, we tried the Reuben egg rolls, delish. Got the apple walnut flatbread, second time ordering this, horrible! No Brie, bread was hard and stale almost. Asked some questions on the menu, and our server had to go over first what all they were out of. Not a good sign and just seemed odd for this place. What I had the most issue with was the timing of it all. Our server never went over the specials or the menu. I had asked if they had their coffee rub to buy and she never gave me answer, I asked again and she said they were out of it. Not sure why I would have thought differently at this point. Then she came up to us and said we had about 10 minutes left in the reservation, I ordered dessert to go. She gives us our bills, we put our cards in right away. And she disappears. Another server cashes us out and hands our cards back to us. A minute later our server comes up and says we have to get up now our table needs bussed. Uh do you want me to sign my bill? That was a horrible ending. Maybe drop the check earlier in the meal to space it out better. I was actually embarrassed to have raved about this place. Overall my group enjoyed it, it just was a total let down compared to my first experience here. Our group did come in staggered, and I was happy that they still sat us but the rush at the end, had no effect on our last joiner. Ultimately I'd still come back and give them one more shot. They may just be more of a summer seasonal restaurant for me. It's still BYOB and that's nice. They supply glasses and a wine opener. read more

Update on Bite: I'm still confident it's one of the better and more unique restaurants in the area. Their menu is inventive, and though the atmosphere might be eclectic (yes, it's just in a renovated house), dining here is always a pleasant experience. This last visit, we ordered the fried alligator with pepper jelly, the buffalo chicken sandwich, and the salmon burger with some seasonal veggies. Bite is one of the few restaurants that makes eating vegetables an enjoyable experience, and I wasn't disappointed. Their cheese plates and desserts are also always wonderful. The chocolate salad (named such only for the cacao nibs included- not an actual chocolate flavor) was full of spinach and fresh veggies with strawberries and candied pecans! The adult grilled cheese with caramelized onions, the cheddar bacon pasta salad, and the Decadence Chocolate cake were all tremendous! Tea served in huge Mason jars is a wonderful touch! Well flavored, succulent pork balls with pickles made In-house lay delicately over the top and drizzled spicy mayo added balance to this clever plate. This certainly will be my on favorite dish list! For my entree I ordered the Hot Smoked Pine Salmon topped with juniper gin butter. For my two sides I chose a side salad with basil vinaigrette and a vegetable medley. The salad came out like a piece of art, absolutely lovely! The drawback was the dressing the Basil vinaigrette acidity wasn't balanced very well, it was too sour and ruined my salad. Very disappointing. Amazing how a simple mistake can ruin a dish. My Salmon was on the dry side. Even the scrumptious juniper gin butter sauce drizzled on top couldn't make up for the lack of moisture. The over all flavor of the salmon was superb! My kale medley was a very interesting combination that I wouldn't have thought would be merry together. It was a blend of kale, squash, and snowpeas. Surprisingly very tasty!
