While the service was good, the food was not. We had Shrimp Tempura, Pork Bao bun, Garlic Fried Chicken and Salmon Crispy Rice. We did not like any of these. We both felt like our visit was a total waste of money. Sorry to say we will not be back. read more

UGH. Don't go here. Go to Mesa, AZ and get some legit Asian food for half the price. Trust me, I'm Asian ^_^ I am writing this review as I am eating my leftovers from Bisutoro. Why? Because it was an overpriced meal even with Restaurant Week going on. I'm gonna eat what I paid for. I was sooo excited coming here because 1. Restaurant Week, 2. Asian Food, 3. The place looks niiiice. That should of been the give away. A nice lookin place will gloss over the actual quality of the food in most cases. Alright, lets get to the facts. Starters: 2 pieces of sushi...fried cake rice with crab on top - good. Bao Bun: really yummy! But 1 Bao for $8? The filling didn't even fill the whole Bao...had 2 bites without chicken (the corners). Main course: Garlic noodles + fried chicken...uhh ok so I was super hungry and was like..OOH so good. Then realized it was super SALTY altogether and I was done... Dessert: That Caramel Cheesecake was good...the Mochi on the other hand...smelled like FISHHHHHH. It was split in half. Hmm, you think they washed that knife in between cutting fish? Noooope. Gross. Service was weird. Asked for another menu with the Restaurant Week items on it and he misunderstood and replaced it...(I was with my date...I wanted an extra one). Our waitress was a robot. Asked me twice about dessert and still handed the one I chose to my date. When we looked at the bill....DAMN. We were expecting $55 each for restaurant week, but it was around $60-$70 each bc the CHICKEN and the STEAK was extra....yea we should of looked a little closer at the menu, but still...and extra $10-15??? read more

The food was really nice, wish they had uni. Service amazing. Sat at the bar the bartender was extremely nice . Beautiful ambiance. I have just one thing, wagyu nigiri's 2 pieces was 26 dollars but they didn't have the sea urchin that comes on top, it would have been nice to have a price adjustment and the AC needs to be a bit higher. Other than that, Definitely recommend read more

I loved stopping in here at the bar for a roll as a pre dinner snack. Hope to come back soon to try more menu items. Staff was very nice..

Sushi was terrific and the service was top notch. The bartender was on it the entire evening and his espresso martinis were delicious. The lighting and entire ambiance was amazing, 10/10. Their spicy edamame was yummy!! One guy even saw me struggling with chopsticks and came and gave me some chopstick cheaters. Like what!! How sweet!!! I will be back (: read more

Always solid - never busy, unique rolls and great service. The yellowtail crudo is outstanding.

Stopped by for lunch and the atmosphere, service and food were superb. For something a little different, the crispy rice trio sampler is a must try! Will definitely be back next time we're in the Biltmore area. read more

Bisutoro - Brothers birthday ! - Ramen Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

I am a huge fan of Ramen, and a big sushi fan as well so this place was a good mix of that. Unfortunately I was rather underwhelmed when it came to the food itself. The aesthetics at Bistro are top tier, I love the layout and the lighting. The Open Kitchen Style is a great touch as well. When I went, they were servicing a very large group outside so I guess that had some impact on the service itself. Just to throw it out there also, the prices are pretty high; but it's the Biltmore area. I started off with the Garlic Fried Chicken. That was actually perfect, spicy, flavorful, and tender. My main entree was the Obon ramen. Don't get me wrong, it was good; but I've had much better for a lot less money. I also got a couple rolls. The "Snow Flake" and the "Spicy Citrus Roll". They were great, but still very simple. I should point out, when it comes to sushi, I enjoy simple. It was very fresh and looked very well put together, the chefs definitely know what they're doing. Personally I just feel like for the price there is so much better for less. Still worth trying, I can't say I won't go again. read more

Was so ready to give this restaurant full score because we love the place. Based on our recommendations, we invited a party of 13 of our friends to join us. I was the only one ordering something other than sushi and fish dishes because of medical reasons. By the time my ribeye arrived all parties have finished their food. Very embarrassing, did not even eat a quarter of my dish. I'm in the restaurant business and know that is wrong and disrespectful. read more

The service review is definitely negative, but the food review is positive. I might come back, but I'll definitely pick a time when it's less crowded. This is the worst part of my dining experience--their staffing seems inadequate or the shift scheduling is unreasonable. It could be due to their recent opening and insufficient staff training, but the service efficiency is extremely low. Both my wife and I have experience in restaurant service, and I even have restaurant management experience, but I've never seen such a well-equipped restaurant with such poor service efficiency. There were five tables around the bar area, and they had two bartenders, yet there were times when none of the customers at the bar were attended to. One male bartender wasted a significant amount of time on a taste set, without considering other customers. It was astonishing to see him spend 20 minutes just pouring five taste wine cups. The other female bartender was constantly walking around, appearing very busy, but she had zero efficiency. She wasted a lot of time running around without knowing what she should be doing. Due to the inadequate multitasking abilities of the two employees at the bar area, we wasted at least 40 minutes waiting without anyone refilling our water, asking about our needs, or settling the bill. I saw at least three potential customers sitting at the bar, but they either left after waited for more than 10 minutes cause no one asked for their needs or provided menus. If the management team reads this review, I strongly suggest spending time retraining the staff in terms of efficiency, especially the servers and bartenders. They should refill water, promptly inquire about needs, make eye contact with all customers within their view, and avoid running around empty-handed. Try to accomplish more with each movement. Encountering a restaurant in the Camelback Rd area with such mismatched service and management is a first for me. read more

When I complained about why my omakase "boat" does not come with 10 different nigiri, The chef let our server to tell us because some of the fishes are out, so they sometimes can only do five different kinds. First, When a chef say something like this, I doubt it if they really know what "omakase" is, especially in a $$$ sign restaurant, you should know better. Secondly, if you have something out, you should first let me know about this and let me choose something else, instead of making whatever out, this is cheating. Thirdly, this is called "omakase boat" on the menu, I really don't see this $100 plate can relate to the name of it. Overall, I gave out two stars is because our sever was very nice, and the other hot food was good. The sushi was actually okay, fresh, just nothing like omakase. read more

Crispy rice was yummy. Katsu pork bao was fab (bbq pork wasn't as good, imo)! Service is kinda on the slow side, but I've enjoyed my visits.

Wow. We were already in love with this restaurant from our first takeout order (see prior review), but dining in person takes the experience to a whole 'nother level. The menu is eclectic and very cutting-edge pan-Asian. The atmosphere is like a cosmopolitan gastro pub, contemporary and airy, very inviting and friendly yet with a speakeasy look and feel in the dining room with privacy glass between booths. Parking couldn't have been easier despite it being Saturday night. Hint: park in the back parking structure by Macy's and just cut through the shopping mall to the restaurant. No fuss at all and avoid the crazy crowds trying to all park in the lots near Camelback. I am absolutely IN LOVE with their bao. They've taken an already delicious concept and turned it absolutely on its head! These bao are like street tacos, with a fat pancake style rice bun standing in for the soft tortilla. I got the "Bird" with a savory chunk of fried chicken in a delectable asian red sauce, refreshing cucumber and the yummy bao rice bun folded pancake style that you can pick up and eat just like a street taco. Genius. For our mains, we got the Harvest Rice Bowl (Korean style) and Garlic Noodles. The Harvest Bowl (my second one) was again delicious with all of the Korean sides and a yummy, runny fried egg on top and just enough gochujang to melt into the savory, almost carmelized rice. My boyfriend's (pillowy, fat) garlic noodles were freakin' delicious (he indulged me a taste) with complex layers of flavor including a bed of fresh cilantro on top. He doesn't normally eat dishes like this and he said he loved it. He also loved his whisky cocktail (Black Dragon) garnished with orange and black sesame seeds. The staff and bartenders treated us like friends and were very upbeat and pleasant to deal with. We had been invited back to try the Harvest Bowl again even though the first review of Bisutoro had been a good one (4-stars) and we said we loved the restaurant, the management here is unrelenting in their pursuit of the "perfect" customer experience and had offered a re-do anyway. They're truly a class-act in that regard and it speaks to their professionalism and care. It's almost as if they treat each customer as if they've invited them to dine in at their home - that's how serious they are about the hospitality, quality of the food and the overall dine-in experience. Definitely a place to come for some seriously kick ass nouveau Asian comfort food in an upscale gastropub. Thank you for the lovely Saturday night meal. read more

We have been excited to try Bisutoro because my partner is a fan of Oban. We finally had an opportunity and found this was a one-and-done costly experience. TLDR; good service, okay quality, and ridiculous prices. Sushiholic has better sushi and Roka Akor is a better sushi experience. We sat at the bar and found the bartender pleasant and knowledgeable. Absolutely no complaints and we tipped appropriately. The various food items are described within the menu and prices are listed. We knew what we are getting. My partner went there for the ramen, but we decided to stick with the sushi. We received okay quality items at Las Vegas prices. The shishito peppers are easily the best thing I ate at the restaurant. My partner and I both felt the rolls at Sushiholic were more interesting combinations, of better quality, and less expensive. The drinks were well made, but be careful when ordering off the menu. For instance, we asked about the Whisky Flight. Then I ordered one of the whiskies off that list and my partner ordered that same whisky in an Old Fashion. Since it was in their Whisky Flight and discounted for Happy Hour, we assumed it should be reasonably priced, but we thought wrong. We didn't ask, so that was our fault. We found they were overcharging even more than the whisky bar down the street. We felt the final bill was just absurd and neither of us actually had enough to eat. Finally, the decor is nice, but seems little changed from Bamboo Sushi -- good, but nothing differentiating. This restaurant is unlikely to last without some change. A solid clue should have been that we were the first to sit at the bar for Friday night Happy Hour at 5PM whereas The Gladly and The Parlor were already very busy by then. read more

It's a beautiful restaurant. They did a great job with the interior. It's across from Arhaus by the way. We had a hard time finding it. The food was good and service was great but the place was empty (but it was 6:30 on a Wednesday). The only reason for 3 stars is that it's stupid expensive. I know it's Biltmore but it seemed excessive. We eat out all the time and do not mind spending money on really good food and experiences but this was jut a little much. The bill was $120 with tip. We had 2 small hand rolls, a butter lettuce and cod appetizer and a side of Japanese sweet potatoes (I've never seen these before- they were good!). My husband had 2 beers and I had 8 oz of Saki. Like I said it was good food, but $100 is a bit much to spend for 4 small appetizers and a few drinks. We ended up going somewhere else after because we were still hungry! read more

Decided to try this place out for my husband's birthday, but we wanted to do a lunch date. It was pretty empty inside, maybe 4 other tables. The host was very attentive and timely. But we then started to get the feeling that they were short staffed perhaps...? The waitress seemed stretched thin, and the open-concept kitchen revealed 2 guys prepping/cooking the food. Took at least 30-40 minutes for our lukewarm miso soup appetizer to arrive, plus one of the bao buns we ordered was incorrect at first and the other was burnt & we had thought about leaving prior to the rest of our meal arriving, but stayed. The sushi and oshi we ordered were delicious. I also enjoyed the short rib bao bun. Overall, I'm sure it is great maybe during the dinner service or with a full staff? But I don't think I'll be back to check. read more

There was a hair on the omakase and the server was unbelievably rude after I pointed it out. One of my favorite sushi spots, the food is always delicious. Great drinks and the service is excellent.

Went here during restaurant week. I imagine they're short staffed or something. We had a reservation and waited over 20 minutes when over half the tables were available. In addition, it took a painful amount of time to receive our food. By painful, there were 3 of us, and one person would receive their appetizer and/or meal, and the next person wouldn't receive theirs for another 20 minutes, and the last for another 15-20 minutes. The food quality is great, but for the pricing and wait, wouldn't recommend. In addition, for dessert, they gave extremely small portions (who cuts mochi in half?), still bitter over that. read more

Decent option for Japanese/Asian inspired dishes. Prices are high but you do get good portion sizes on the main entrees. Sushi menu (nigiri/sashimi) also very pricey for what you get.
