Oysters
Elaine T.

Food: 4/5 Crab artichoke dip was fresh off the stove, and had terrific flavors. Oysters were pretty good too. My friend and I shared the cod fish and chips. The batter was disappointing, there was no crunch either. The cod was tough like it had been sitting there for some time before being cooked. Service: 5/5 As perfect as it could be. Ambiance: casual fine dining

I had the crab cakes as an appetizer and they were amazing

The food was amazing. The service from AJ was great. The ambiance was nice. Either you could go there like I did for just a solo lunch. Or it makes a great. Weekend outing with the family or even an intimate dating spot. The tomato pesto on the rockfish it was absolutely amazing. It was a very good dish. I just wish they would find another way to present it to the table. When it came to the table, I was quite skeptical. Eight out of ten people eat with their eyes.

Everything is amazing! The service is so kind and helpful. The fish is delicious and the wine list is great!

We came here for restaurant week. The menu was great and delicious, perfect amount of food for me…read moreto try a bit of everything on the menu. We each did the restaurant week menu and shared. The appetizer was amazing, we each got the crispy rice and I love that each one was a different fish and slightly different flavor. I don't remember which roll we got, I think it was the blue dragon one, but that was delicious, good amount of rice and fish and great flavor. The truffle rib pasta was good as well, the short ribs were cooked perfectly and the flavor on that was insane. I do wish that they would've tossed the pasta in the same sauce the rib came in before adding it to the red pasta sauce. The pasta sauce itself lacked flavor and just tasted like blended down tomatoes. If the pasta had a scoop of the rib sauce too, that would be absolutely insane!! For dessert we didn't have a choice and it was just the miso caramel cheesecake. Now that is some of the best cheesecake I've had in an incredibly long time. I don't taste the miso flavor in the caramel besides the salty sweetness of it but that combo was perfect, especially with the homemade candied pecans. I don't know if the cheesecake was left out or purposefully like that but I love how when the cheesecake was served it wasn't cold! Usually cheesecake is served really cold and kind of like a cream cheese brick you have to cut into it with your fork. But this was barely chilled so the cheesecake was not super cold and it just melts in your mouth. It's so smooth, best dish of the night hands down. This place was very nice and great location. Everything is clean and a great ambience. There's a bar you can sit at when you walk in before you go to the tables. I do think that every side smaller table should automatically have the table lamp for light because it was just too dark to see the menu from my perspective. It looks like great lighting in the pictures because the phone took it in night mode and corrected the lighting but... it's a bit dark and I saw that they do have those modern battery table lamps so I think every table against the wall should have it. Now onto why it's only 4 stars. The service was so beyond incredibly slow. I kid you not we waited 35min at least before our first dish was served and it wasn't even the appetizer, it was the entree rib pasta. You could tell just how short staffed they were and you could hear that there's only 1 sushi chef 1 regular chef and that's it for the kitchen. I don't know who is managing the shift schedule, maybe it's because we came on Memorial Day, but this type of service is not acceptable. I don't take this on the employees at all. They were so incredibly nice and apologetic and doing the best they can and even the front of house was now bussing tables to help out!!! Because they're so busy, I had to keep reminding different waiters for small things like ginger for my sushi 3x, refill on my water, and he almost said we're good to go without paying the check but we didn't even receive our cheesecake dessert yet OR paid the bill. In total it took us 2 hours from sitting down, ordering within 5min, and waiting and waiting and waiting to eat... inexcusable on management

I will mention the place is designed very nicely. For starters the food was bland, except the shishito peppers. The peppers were fantastic and that's the only thing I enjoyed. The ramen was second best compared to the other items. Edamame was good. The sushi roll, seaweed would not break down as I was chewing it and the roll didn't have much flavor to it. Now for the reason for the two stars...the crispy rice. The bites are soooo big I had to cut them in half in order to eat it (good thing) because when I broke the second one in half; I found a black HAIR about the same length of a finger cooked in the rise (I'm blonde by the way). I was shocked and hate complaining. I wasn't going to say anything as I lost my appetite. My friend who was dinning with me, said something politely. The waiter said okay I'll get you another one and ran away with the plate before we got a chance to said we didn't want another one. We saw him show the manager and she okayed him to make another. I was shocked the manager or waiter didn't apologize, wasn't shocked by it, acted normal like nothing was wrong. For this reason I will not be returning. Again my other friend had a great experience and I had a bad one, so 50/50 shot. I know we are human and mistakes happen. It was the way it was handled that drop the rating. Along with bland food for the price.

After coming from the mall and running through the parking lot in the rain, we cozied up at the bar. It was a pretty intimate experience considering that there weren't many ppl inside. For food we ordered the charred shishitos(the dipping sauce is SO GOOD), scallop crispy rice, maki, and the gyoza. I was thoroughly impressed and cannot wait to return.

What my partner and I appreciated was the educational aspect of his service. He explained how their sushi differs from others, how the chefs go about creating their dishes, he also explained different key ingredients and how they alter the taste of dishes and so much more. You can tell he appreciates what he does and cares to learn about it all to make an experience for the customer worth while. The garlic fried chicken is so flavorful and crisp! The miso soup is full bodied in flavor and one of the best I've had. The dynamite shrimp is literally to die for and you want to lick the plate clean! I appreciated their cucumber salad with a sunomono take cause while it differed from a typical sunomono salad, this was so flavorful and packed with such refreshing tastes, it left you wanting more! I have not had a single bad dish here and I still have so much to try. The drinks are great too, my partner and I really enjoyed the Thai-gers blood and Pineapple Express. The atmosphere is amazing down from the decor to the architecture of it all. I urge others to try this place, as they truly care about the craftsmanship of cooking and making dishes come to life and providing you the ultimate dining experience. All I got a picture of was the dessert and that was the cherry on top recommendation from our kind server!

As someone who's a bit picky, that meant I had to sit and wait quite a while for the specific items I wanted to come around on the belt which was kind of frustrating. That said, I've figured out the hack: come right when they open for lunch after 11am. It's a completely different experience. You can order exactly what you want, and it comes out almost immediately. Way more enjoyable and efficient. Even during my first visit, I still had fun. The little robot that delivers drinks and wasabi is a cute touch and definitely adds to the experience. The concept itself is great, it just depends on timing. Food-wise, it's a bit hit or miss. I do NOT recommend the spicy tuna or regular tuna. The quality hasn't been great in my experience it tends to have stringy fat and sometimes tastes fishy. On the other hand, the spicy yellowtail hand roll is consistently my favorite. It always looks fresh with a nice color and texture. The app is also a little confusing. When you try to pay, it still redirects you to a QR code and opens a webpage instead of using the app directly, which makes you wonder why you even need the app in the first place. One more tip: double-check your to-go orders. They've forgotten utensils, soy sauce, and wasabi for me before. Overall, the staff are really nice, even though interaction is pretty minimal. If you go at the right time and know what to order, it can be a really fun and satisfying experience.

For what it is, it was a pretty good visit. We really were pleasantly surprised by the quality. The variety was great. Rice was prepared right -- not mushy or stale. The fish was great which was the biggest surprise of the whole meal. The salmon was fresh and buttery. The scallops were plump. Tuna did not taste cheap or old like previous visits. I did try some of their limited time menu items -- their fish taco and the crispy rice hot dog. The cod in the fish taco was way too soft and disintegrated in my mouth, I would like a firmer fish.. the tartar sauce was great though. The crispy rice hot dog was interesting... the sausage was nice a plump -- juicy but the rice did not make sense. The rice was also a little sweet and did not taste right.. ** please bring back the crispy rice salmon and spicy tuna instead of this. We did not enjoy our last 2-3 visits to Kura. Service was always bad, food did not taste good and it was becoming overpriced for what it is. We would happily come back now and spend what we did again if the quality stays the way it is. Service this time around was still not great, even worse than usual actually, but we still enjoyed otherwise. Kura used to allow you to win prizes at 5-7 plates but now it's every 15, 25+ plates which sucks but I get it..

The restaurant is lively, but you receive your order quickly and perfectly. Our waiter Chase took great care of us and offered suggestions and descriptions about the food. Chris came by to make sure everything was to our liking and to wish me a happy birthday. We all had a great time, a great meal and did not feel like they were trying to rush us out of the door. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the freshest seafood, steaks, and even hamburger.

We arrived around 6:15 for our priority seating reservation, which wasn't until 630 but considering we didn't know what parking would be like we wanted to ensure we were there on time. We waited outside the restaurant since it was pretty crowded on the inside waiting space, they had cool water jugs for those of us not wanting to order a drink while we were waiting. Our table was ready around the same time for our reservation, and we were waited on attentively upon sitting down. I believe our waiter's name was Lorenzo, we had expressed that this was our first time and we also were wanting to try oysters for the first time so he gave us good recommendations on which one would be a good fit for us. We ended up trying the sweet Jesus oysters, and of course I am not a fan, but my husband was willing to give it another shot another day. I think one of the biggest positives about it being a mostly seafood base restaurant as it doesn't smell like a seafood restaurant normally does, the environment aspires to be romantic. However, the noise level really makes it difficult to hear whoever you're with. My husband was sitting literally shoulder to shoulder with me, and I struggled immensely to carry on meaningful conversation because of competing with other tables noise levels. The fish was cooked to perfection and the lemon butter sauce was to die for, the broccolini was delicious as well. My husband enjoyed his fish however he did say that for the price we paid for the fish he thinks the fillet should've been bigger. He also enjoyed his asparagus side. They were able to arrange the sign to say happy anniversary to us, I just don't have the picture since it's on my husband's phone. We celebrated the end of our dinner experience with a slice of chocolate cake, which was so delicious, and the pistachio gelato. Overall, it was a good dining experience, but it will definitely be a while before we return due to it being a more pricey dining option as well as the loud environment. * side notes: *parking is valet, only which is complementary, if you don't have cash, your valet attendant can take Venmo as a tip form. *Bathrooms are extremely clean, men and women, but women's has only two stalls so you may be waiting a while.
