This is an absolute must when visiting Myrtle Beach. A great casual fine dining restaurant. The service, food, and beverages were top shelf. The cherry lemon drop martini was superb -- gourmet cherries??? Who knew?? For dinner I had the filet tips that come in an orange horseradish sauce -- absolute amazing!! Vegetables and salad -- very fresh!! The staff was friendly and helpful. In particular the GM took the time to visit our table to make sure we were all taken care off. A great experience. This was such a great stop on our way into Myrtle Beach - so good that we'll probably eat here again this week. The service, the wine recommendation, cocktails, the food...it was all exceptional. The steak tips were delicious. The scallops were perfectly cooked. Everything was cooked to perfection. Might I mention the atmosphere was lovely, intimate yet still welcoming to my 2 and 4 year old? My dad introduced me to Bistro 90 when I moved down here from NJ. Great Italian food is hard to find these days but this place is amazing!! The filet Beef tips are amazing for an appetizer,they melt in your mouth! I always get the chicken parmigiano since it's my favorite dish. They did not disappoint , it was delicious. We've been here several times and it is always superb. The steaks are the best around - even better than Ruth's Chris. It's a bit of a drive from the beach but oh so worth it. Reviewers are overrating this restaurant. Although touted as a USDA prime steak establishment, the steak was good but not outstanding. I am very particular about food taste and more critical than most with reviews. The establishment is located on a rural highway a few minutes from a main connecting highway. It is very isolated. The exterior was well maintained and attractive. There appears to be sufficient parking. Inside decor american contemporary, high ceilings. Well illuminated and craft lighting. Wait staff were polite, waiter seemed knowledgeable with appropriately taught wording about the specials of the day however he gave me the impression of forced politeness which made him appear less than genuine. His trainee waitress was polite. One of their daily specials was a 20-oz cowboy ribeye which, at time of bill was $58 but not made known at time of presentation. Way overpriced. They must finish this steak in the oven. Cooked rare to medium rare. Outside was soft. Taste was good but not excellent. I ordered the house specialty stuffed veal breaded chop $48. was 7/10. Daughter ordered the duck breast which she didn't like for $30. Was prepared too rare, was not as tender as it should have been but was not gamy. She tasted it and left 80% to take home for the dogs. I took home 3/4 of the veal and wife took 1/2 steak home. Not because we were satiated, but we just didn't love the food. Their appetizers were expensive. $12 for a salad? and that was the least expensive side. We didn't order any. Least expensive entree was their pizza and calzone and they were $15. The entree came with a small house mixed green salad with a choice of "Kens" dressings or their house vinaigrette. Two house side-dishes (included) consisted of slightly liquidy creamed mashed potatoes and sauteed string beans. Both were average. Meal came with warm mini french bread w hard crust and oil/herb dipping. I also had a draft dark stout which was good. Waiter didnt know the price. It was $6 and was good and cold. They appear to have an extensive wine and drink list. All appeared to be very expensive. There were no prices on the beer and had a average selection appropriate for this type of establishment where more wine is paired with dinners. The host and probable owner greeted us at the door. He was polite. He came to the table mid dinner for a table check. In the rear of the restaurant on the way to small but fairly clean restrooms (men had one stall), there is a large bar with some bar seats surrounding it. Well lit and appeared comfortable and well stocked. We didn't even look at the dessert menu as we were ready to leave with a less than expected dining experience. Needless to say, I don't think we will be returning. We live about 10 minutes away and there are a dozen or more steak dedicated places in the area. This restaurant is overpriced for their product and be prepared to spend $50 or more per person before any drinks, appetizers, desserts, tax and tip. $110 pp with an appetizer, dessert and a drink. read more

Have dined here several times for both lunch and dinner. Obviously we liked it enough to come back, however, we were never quite as pleased as the first time. My steak was a disappointment and nobody showed me raw steaks to choose from and even sent back the steak. The last time we ate there, we sat in the bar area and the service was terrible, and slow. Though the veal marsala was excellent, the pasta dish was less to be desired, as if the pasta was not drained. We had to ask the bartender for cheese, pepper and even sugar for our coffees. Lastly, the price was exceptionally high for two entrees, no alcohol, no dessert $115. Don't think we'll be revisiting Bistro 90 any time soon and IF we do, we DEFINITELY will NOT be sitting in the bar area!!! read more

Took my dad out to this place for dinner when I went down to the area to visit him. I can sum up my meal with one word. Phenomenal! I had a 16oz ny strip steak with a mushroom cognac cream sauce. Need I say more. It was cooked perfectly. Since I'm from NYC I can honestly say this place is on par or if not better than some of the top steakhouses in NYC. The service and atmosphere were great. This was seriously the best dinner we ever had! We were a party of 11 and not one of us was even close to disappointed. 9 of us got various steaks and all were cooked exactly as ordered and so delicious. I got the filet mignon and it was to die for! Melts in your mouth it's so good. My husband got the rib eye and the char on it was amazing. Definitely the best steaks we've ever had. All of the non-steak dishes were delicious as well. For dessert, the Bananas Foster Cheesecake was amazing. Not over sweet and just had the perfect flavors. Also tasted the mini cannolis and the Red Velvet cake. They were also amazing. The service was also fantastic. For some reason the service in the NMB area isn't very good at any restaurant we've been to, but this restaurant is great. They leave you to enjoy your meal, but make sure to check on you and keep your drinks full. The manager was walking around to tables making sure everyone was happy with their meals. Overall, this was our favorite restaurant and we've been coming to NMB for 25 years - by far the most delicious and enjoyable experience. I really enjoy Bistro 90 for Italian food. It's a little out of the way but worth it. The food is delicious and presented beautifully , the service excellent and the atmosphere very pleasant. The fresh bread is fantastic.There's also music which is a nice touch, and both the owner and staff make your experience a pleasant one. I'm a vegetarian, but my husband isn't and that can make dining out a bit tricky for us. The last time we were there I had a caesar salad and the eggplant parmigiana, my husband had the spinach salad and a steak that he said was done to perfection. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals! I brought my wife here for her birthday while we were on vacation. Everything was on point from beginning to end. We were seated on time and everyone was very polite. Our server (Laura) was warmly attentive but not intrusive at all. She was great. The food was a 10+. My wife commented that it was maybe the best meal she has ever eaten out, and we eat at a lot of nice places. I had the ribeye, she had the orange glazed halibut special. We shared the scallop and pork belly appetizer. I highly recommend all 3. If you're in the area and want a really good meal away from the usual beach crowd, this is the place. Update. I have now taken my wife here for her birthday 3 years running while we're on vacation. Always a hit. No better place to eat in the area. Always a nice respite from the usual restaurant row choices. This restaurant has a laid back and relaxing feel. The food, however, is anything but laid back. Coming from New York area I have high standards when it comes to food and have often been disappointed in the myrtle beach area. Not so at Bistro 90. The pizza was great- crisp and all fresh ingredients. We sampled the fried green tomatoes topped with crab meat and corn- amazing as well as jumbo shrimp and grits. Not a drop left. The fish was so fresh and cooked perfectly and all the soups are home made. This restaurant offers some nice selections and all at a reasonable price. They are willing to cook anything to order. We had a table if 5 and our only disappointed was everything was so good we had nothing to take home!! Their wine list was impressive and prices were more than fair and had something for everyone to pick from. Skip the collection of mediocre restaurants in the Grand Strand- you will not be disappointed. At my next myrtle beach visit- this will be my restaurant destination. read more

While down in Longs checking on my property, as I purchased a home there, new to the area and will be in the Longs/Myrtle Beach area permanently soon, I needed to find good restaurants. Of course coming in from the Providence Rhode Island and having the best Italian Restaurants in the country, finding Bistro 90 was like a taste of home. This restaurant was amazing!!
