Attached to a hotel, this restaurant is kind of unassuming. When you walk in you see the check-in desk for the hotel part and then the bar and inside dining area. I was able to make an online reservation and that process was quick and easy, the staff was waiting for us when we arrived and we were sat right away. The restaurant area overall was designed pretty nicely with some nice mood lighting and what appeared to be a well-stocked bar. The bar area seemed to be the place to hang, as many people, presumably hotel guests, were gathered. Again, the area was nice but it gave off a very "generic hotel floor plan" vibe. I sat outside in the heated outdoor seating "enclosure" next to the closed off swimming pool, and I will say the area's temperature control on a cool autumn night was very good, as I had had some concerns being that the temperature was steadily going down. We were sat at a small plastic table outside and next to us, a long forgotten table that still had the remnants of prior guests' dinner...dirty cups and dishes. The bus boy or waiter never came to clear it, the whole time we sat out there next to it. The outdoor area was riddled with flies which I suppose should be expected(?), however a fly trap or two might be a good idea on the management's part as the flies were landing in our food and drinking glasses. The menu is pretty simple. Appetizers and entrees etc etc and also a pretty extensive drink menu. We ordered calamari and the house made chips with caramelized onion dip. Honestly the onion dip looked like it might've come out of a jar(?) and it needed more salt. The house made chips were exceptional (but I am partial to potato chips) but also needed salt. The calamari was actually the best thing we ordered, it was crispy and not gummy or rubber band like at all, the outer coating was very crispy and delicious, we thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered a caesar salad with chicken. The description on the menu said it had kale in it, I was served a plate with just ice berg lettuce, grocery store croutons and caesar dressing that emulated that of the kind you get in the packets they give you at fast food restaurants. The chicken on top was cold and had a rubbery texture, and it was hard to find the pecorino cheese that was promised in the description on the menu. My dinner companion got the angus burger and described it as "just okay." All in all, the calamari was the star of the show, I would get it again, I would order calamari at any restaurant if I could guarantee it would be this crispy and fresh tasting. So, in conclusion...would I ever eat here again? I guess I would maybe give it another chance but I would order different menu items and hope for the best because 3 of the 4 items we ordered here today were honestly nothing to write home about if not hard to eat. The reason I am giving three stars is because the hostess was a sweetheart and very welcoming and our waiter was honestly such a nice guy. Other than that, I feel like there are other restaurants in this area of the island that wouldn't be such a miss. Oh and I forgot to mention that when we were first sat, there was no music on outside in the "enclosure" we had to ask the waiter for some background noise. Not really sure what is going on here but maybe management needs to have a meeting and reboot a little... read more
