well so i've been wanting to try this place for a long time now, having seen it when we go to Pollack theater which was a lot before all the fiasco started. anyhow we tried it today and it was ok? wasn't horrible, wasn't great just kinda middle of the road. for a place called Biscuits, i thought they would really focus on a really good biscuit but it tasted like a run of the mill biscuit you can get at other places. same with the gravy, i know making large batches while maintaining quality is not easy, however the gravy i thought tasted like it came from a mix. i could be wrong, but that's how it tasted and i think most places use breakfast link sausage and just cut it up and dump it in to make sausage gravy. well this is just wrong imo, you must use bulk sausage and i would suggest making 2 or 3 smaller batches and doing it from scratch. it's not rocket science, it could come together pretty easily just saying it was not as good as i hoped it would be is all. decor was nice, service was fine just not quite what i was expecting but it was ok. read more

Worst experience ever. Came in for breakfast and was there before the rest of my party. My fiancé and I told the waiter that we would have 6 total. Then we checked and said we may have 7. The waitress then said "well which is it cause that's a big difference in where I'm putting you". Then she said "I cannot sit you until more of your party arrive". Now I understand that if the place was busy but, THERE WERE ONLY 3 customers in the whole restaurant. Then she says we can be seated when another person from our party arrives, and we say there are now 8 people. She then gets upset and walks away saying "really?!". So unprofessional. Then we get to the service, now our waitress at our table was very sweet and we all said how the bill was to be split with couples. Then we get the bill at the end, everything is all numbers, no record of the type of food or what we were charged for, just a bunch of printed out charges on a paper. So we all try and figure out each couple's bill when we see they put an extra steak and eggs on the bill. We wouldn't have caught it without literally going through what each person ordered because again, nothing was labeled just a bunch of charges and numbers on a receipt. She didn't even write everything on on the main order slip. So she needed to take the extra steak off which she couldn't explain. THEN! I was upset at the service and experience so I only tipped 12%. Again I could have left nothing, but left at least a 12% tip. I then get stared at by TWO employees. The first was what looked like a manager who had our bill in his hand and was staring at me then at the bill then at me again with a glare. Then the waitress takes the bill and goes around the corner to talk with him, and then comes to walk by our table with our bill and looked directly at me again with a stare. She then proceeds to ask if each person needs a refill on water EXCEPT me, figures. Needless to say this was the first and last time I will be coming here. I should have left when we were told we cannot be seated until more of our party arrive when there was only 3 customers in the whole place. So disappointed. read more

This was the worst service I have ever experienced we seat down maybe 4 tables had people seated took order fast got drinks than sat and watched the resterant fill and each 4 or 5 tables that came in after us get their food was their for almost an hour wasn't noticed until we got up to leave then a worker said bye have nice day then realized we where not paying and then saw we never got are food and told us are food was coming out next ! I am totally disgusted with this restaurant. I first visited this restaurant last weekend after hearing good things about their food. My visit was enjoyable- the food was delicious and tasted like it was made from scratch. The waitress was nice and the prices were reasonable. I was excited about my visit so I told invited a friend to join me the following weekend. My friend and I went for breakfast this morning (now a week later) and it was like I went to an entirely different restaurant. The place was busy but we were able to get a table immediately. The waitress was in a bad mood from the time we sat down. My friend ordered coffee and juice and the waitress looked at her like she was crazy. She came back 3 times within 5 minutes to ask if we were ready to order after we told her we needed time. She was annoyed that my friend needed more time and then asked a question about the menu. I know it must have been terribly inconvenient for the waitress to do her job. The food came out in about 20-30 minutes. The food tasted good, just like my last visit. When we were only half way through our food, she brought us our bill and asked us if we needed anything else. We told her we were fine, but were just finishing our food and chatting. She came by 5 times in 10 minutes asking if we needed anything else so we would hurry up and pay the bill and leave. She had another waitress come ask us if we needed anything else within those 10 minutes as well. Then, my friend took out her card and had it on the table and I was getting out my card and the manager came and without saying a word grabbed the bill and walked away. I tried to stop him but he wouldn't turn around. I had to flag down the waitress to bring our bill back as we had two separate bills and my card hadn't been added yet. Then, the hostess, who is probably the snootiest young lady I've ever met came and said "can I take this" referring to the book t hat the bill is held in and didn't wait for a response before grabbing it and walking away. She came back saying she needed the other receipt and I told her I wasn't done yet but I would leave it when I was. I could see the manager, and several of the staff pointing and talking about us (on more than one occasion) at the hostess station which was 3 booths away. I have never felt so bullied at a restaurant in my entire life! Since when is it a crime to talk with your party when you are out a restaurant? We were only there for about 1 1/2 hours from the time we sat down to the time we left which is not an exuberant amount of time. Furthermore, there were many open tables elsewhere. Regardless of whether there are tables open or not, there is no reason for a restaurant staff to bother guests to get them to leave. The manager has no place in management. The only reason my waitress got a tip was so the hard working buser got a portion of the money. She certainly didn't deserve one. The restaurant deserves an F in manners, customers service, atmosphere, hospitality, and professionalism. I'm completely embarrassed that I spoke so highly of it to my friend who had to experience such terrible and rude service. Good luck staying open. read more

Having had the pleasure to have eaten here at the Biscuits here in Tempe on more than a dozen times, I felt compelled to write a review to let everyone know just how extremely glad I am to have found a place like Biscuits so close to where I live. It's hard to decide where to start, the food here is so good that words alone can't begin to describe just how much of a delight it is to eat here, the Meatloaf with mashed potatoes are by far the best I've ever eaten along with the Pulled BBQ Pork sandwich, substitute the French fries with Onion rings, country green beans and Cole slaw or maybe the Oriental Chicken Salad and the Fish and Chip's, Alaskan Cod cooked to perfection to name a few. Let's not forget the service staff that work here, they are some of the best, friendliest and professional around making sure that you get your food quickly and correctly so that you have one of the best dining experiences possible. Old time American fare including biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, and anything else down home. The portions are huge and so is the value. On this day I found myself for the first time trying out the new Tempe location, and as expected the food was fantastic. What I didn't expect was the service I received. Normally exceptional and super friendly, my server smelled like she was working off a bender from the night before. On top of that she had the personality of a cabbage, not friendly at all. She wore a ankle boot probably from stumbling down a flight of stairs after downing a bottle of mad dog. In my experience with Biscuits, this is the exception and not the rule. I will not let this visit keep me from my favorite breakfast jump. But I will avoid this particular server. read more
