Super delicious breakfast, reasonably priced, with excellent service (thanks Jonathan!). Will be back!

When I first went to biscuits 5 years ago and they only had one location it quickly became my favorite breakfast spot and even worth driving out of the way for. We went there once a week, the waitress knew our order and that we didn't like lemon in the water. My favorite was always the red potatoes that were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Unfortunately over the years as they expanded both the quality of the food and the service suffered. The new locations lack the cozy atmosphere and hometown feel of the original. That last few times I've went the food was poor (undercooked red potatoes and a "poached" egg that was so over cooked it was actually hard boiled) I would have sent it back but by that time I had waited so long for a table and was so f-ing hungry that I just shut up and ate it anyways. And I guess I can't finish up this review without commenting on the biscuits. For a place called biscuits there is nothing outstanding about them. In fact they taste better smothered in gravy which masks the fact that you could get better biscuits out of a can. If you want a big, fluffy oversized biscuit go to Black Bear Diner. I've stopped going to biscuits and it makes me sad because I used to love it so much. But like an ex lover all things get tarnished with time. read more

Granted, there's not much in the way of great food in Beaverton. A friend and I usually go to Black Bear for breakfast, which is actually pretty good, but one day, we decided to go elsewhere. Bad idea. Everything I had at Biscuits could have easily been made at home, and quite a bit better. I'd give it one star, but I reserve that for things that are completely inedible. Meh. We were looking forward to trying breakfast here after a few recommendations and were left underwhelmed. The biscuit and gravy was pretty good, as was my partners taco omelette. The bacon tasted like grease (how do you ruin bacon?!), and the coffee was SO watered down. I was annoyed to have to pay $3 for essentially water with a hint of coffee. The service was also lacking... our waitress didn't smile, welcome us, thank us, really anything but hand us our food stone faced. I like to visit a place at least twice before I review it. It's a rule but I break it all the time. But not now. I've been to Biscuits Cafe three times now. The first time, the hashed browns rocked the casbah like nobody's business. Perfectly crispy, fresh, not too greasy but held together and cooked fluffy inside. Exactly like I like 'em. The next two times, well, wish I'd skipped them for fresh fruit! The eggs benedict. You-all heard or should have read my review here on Yelp of Salishan for Eggs B. They set the bar. On the other end of the spectrum for Hollandaise, there is Biscuits. Packaged, thick, cloying, bright yellow FAKE sauce, that neither I nor hubby could figure out what it tasted like. We both kept trying. Hubby finally said it tasted like beef! Ay-yi-yi, as Ricky Ricardo would have said, slapping his head. Get out of town and take your hat. That sauce gotta go, man. Other than the sauce and the mixed-result hashed browns, the rest was okay. The avocado was ripe (got the California Benedict and added avo) but there were flecks of black - can they SEE back there? Don't they have knives? Cut off the black parts!~~! The eggs were perfectly poached. This is hard to do and get to the table with them still just right. Kudos and a point for that. Point for the waiter, who said he's been there a couple of months, and he was really going to get our orders right, and he did. Obviously the guy was trying and I liked it - he got a good tip. The coffee is good! They've changed their brew since the last time I was there, and it is better. Hubby had an omelet - supposedly chorizo - but I believe it was the hard Spanish version - not the Mexican melty kind. There is a huge difference in those two types of chorizo. They do the same thing at Fathoms in Lincoln City - use the hard salami-type and cut it into chunks. It's just not flavored the same and the texture is obviously TOTALLY different. The egg was too thick making the omelet 'shell' hard to get completely cooked and so it was, of course, overcooked and dry. And although a star was given for coffee, I took it away for the biscuits. Hey, if you are going to NAME the joint after biscuits, they should be at least notable. These are not. There is nothing wrong with the atmosphere - big and roomy with lots of windows, and they open very early which I love. They have lots to choose from and lunch looks very good, with many burgers and other choices. I'll not deny I'm spoiled by breakfasts elsewhere, and if you are not, you will like this place. It's a nice spot to get hot food, although many people claim it is overpriced. For the quality of the biscuits alone, I would agree. JT's Verdict: GO, but don't get the Hollandaise sauce unless your mom grew you up on the packaged stuff. Then you might feel nostalgic. read more

I think this is my go-to for breakfast out in the Beaverton area. The wait is usually around 15-20 minutes. The service is friendly. The restaurant has a very down-to-earth feel. The prices were pretty reasonable (6-10 dollars). I ordered the biscuits and gravy plate. And either I was starving or it was pretty delicious. I ate everything. They were not skimpy on the gravy for my biscuits. I was very appreciative of that. If you're looking for a nice breakfast place to go to and you don't want to go all the way to Portland - then this is the place of you! read more

Biscuits is a classic breakfast and lunch diner. One of the best things we have had here is the jam, it is surprisingly good. They have a wide variety of items on their menu, though we have only gotten breakfast fair. When I go out for breakfast I prefer to get things that I don't make at home which is why I love the wide variety of benedicts that they have. Personally I don't care for the biscuits, they remind me of dry cheap canned biscuits. The wait isn't that bad, they are fairly quick and service. read more

i really really really hate coming here on the weekends, because it is just crazy packed. we never have a problem waiting for a table, its waiting for the food! walk in, table for two please, wait about 5 minutes sit down order coffee, water, juice, sit drink 10 minutes roll by order food. 15 minutes rolls by, damn where's my food? another 15 minutes roll by, i'm sick of staring at him, and he's sick of my sourface. another 15 minutes, waitress apologizes says they are short of staff (this happened three different weekends) sit wait, FINALLY! the breakfast isn't worth the whole 45 minute wait but i get lazy to go anywhere else at this point. i've had better service on regular weekdays; it is completely dead. so i learned, never come here on a weekend. the eggs benedict is yummy, and they recently added eggs florentine for days where i want to be a healthier fatass. my breakfast comes with a choice of red potatoes or hashbrowns in case you wanted to know. the portions are pretty big too, i have a love for potatoes of all shapes, sizes and texture, just cook it and i will gladly inhale. they have typical breakfast options, and its a little more expensive but with big portions. Also offer lunch for the non-breakfast lovers. so this place is called "biscuits cafe" yet i've never had a biscuit before. read more

We had been to this location a couple of times before. Food was acceptable for a no frills breakfast. This visit was our last. We both ordered at the same time: An omelet for one of us and sausage and eggs with the egg whites not browned for the other. Food took forever to arrive and people seated way after us received their food first. It was quite busy. The omelet was hot and great. However the sausage, potatoes, toast, and eggs were barely warm. The egg whites were browned. Sent plate back in hopes they could get it right the second time. This was a mistake. It took another 15 minutes for the redo to arrive which was just as cold and this time the eggs were very dark brown on the bottom! Since I was completely done eating we simply left with one of us unfed. They comped our coffee but no perceivable manger type bothered to speak to us. read more

It's hard to find a good breakfast place that won't remind you of Denny's and still not cost you an arm and a leg. This place offers good service, solid breakfast fare, and good bang for your buck. Our server was excellent and let me order 'creatively' which definitely saved some green. Our food came, heavy on the berries (YUM), well seasoned and cooked. Alright, I'll admit, I'm a HUGE sucker for a good Chicken Fried Steak, and Biscuits definitly delivers on CFS. HUGE slab of nicely tenderized beef battered and fried to perfection, generous helping of a nice gravy, the biscuts were good, hashbrowns were fine. The coffee was decent to good, which is rare for a diner. I hear that other locations are VERY hit and miss, but that this one is usually consistently good. Reasonable prices as well. read more

Yummy breakfast/brunch that's closer than driving out east to Portland! *The Chicken Fried Chicken was delicious, almost as good as Gravy's. *My boyfriend got the Country gravy omelette and he said it was one of the best breakfasts he had. *The fresh, warm biscuits were so buttery and soft and went great with the strawberry jelly. I guess I've never had a real biscuit until I came here! The two of us got seated right when we walked in, and it was pretty busy for a weekend at 10am. If the name of your establishment has "biscuits" in it, that better be your best dish. I got the biscuits and gravy and was sorely disappointed. The biscuits weren't all the way cooked, and doughy on this inside. The gravy wasn't "country" style at all, as some touted. The hash browns also weren't cooked all the way and had a strange oily taste. Also all the food was room temperature and clearly just prepared, not cooked. For waiting in line 20 mins and paying $9 for a plate of inedible and uncooked food, I'm sorely disappointed. read more

This is my first review on yelp. I normally would never consider doing anything like this, but this place really rubbed me the wrong way today. I took the effort to complain. It sucked so bad i downloaded the app, made an account and complained. My visit goes as follows: I showed up on a Sunday morning with a party of 5. There was a wait. Completely understandable. We finally got inside to a table that wasn't really made to accommodate 5, but at least we would eventually get some solid food, right? No. Not at all. I'm not good at writing crafty reviews. I'm better with lists. Pros: The coffee was pretty decent. The bathrooms were really clean. The host was bussing tables like a boss, seating people, and the wait time were incredibly accurate. Cons: We weren't presented with enough silverware. No child's menu was presented until asked (we have a 3 year old) The biscuits and gravy were awful. It kind of tasted like a pizza. There was minimal sausage in the mixture. My friend next to me ordered steak and eggs. Pretty sure that were nuked in a microwave. He had the option of how he would like it cooked. He asked for medium. He got well done. We had to wait for another plate. When the second plate was brought, the waitress was incredibly rude about it. The home fries weren't done (red potatoes as they referred to them?) Bisquick pancakes your grandmother forces on you taste better than this establishments. McDonald's also has better eggs. I'm not kidding. For crap breakfast food, I was pissed at how much i paid. I have this place two stars because of the host seating people. 4 stars because this place has saved me a few times. It depends on what you expect from Biscuits. I wanted biscuits, lots of coffee, OJ, eggs, and potatoes. They delivered on all. Biscuits and gravy - the biscuits were flaky and the gravy was great. Not too watery or greasy with a nice hint of herbs. Coffee - well. It's coffee. OJ - fresh squeezed. Saturday, Jan 29th, 2022 @ 10 am-ish, Biscuits, Hillsboro/Baseline Rd. Zero stars to the white, racist woman, in a black t-shirt n long, stringy, gray hair n her white privileged rude family. Tyler an employee who had to repeatedly ask them to put a mask on. Their immature teenager who went out came back in again, who was asked repeatedly to put a mask on, then who made a rude comments, and ignored him proceeded to prance through the whole restaurant without her mask. She was so proud of herself.. As they left all five or six of them were so proud that they pranced through without masks, as they smirked at employees. These type of rude people are what keeps this virus going, along with people getting angry. As a white person, it pisses me off that THEY put the employee(s) in that position because of their stupidity. It's clear they think only of their ugly selves. People cheered when they left. They even drove out the wrong way, that shows you the type of selfish people they are as a family. Masks are a huge issue in this society, if you don't want to wear one and who does, then stop going out. The best thing was how stupid they looked, pure stupidity of the white privileged Karens. Five stars to the employees that handle them so professionally, who ignored them when they left. Biscuits and other businesses should refuse services to these people. No shirt, no shoes, no mask, no service..pretty simple, n pretty clear. Has absolutely nothing to do with my freedom or yours! I'm actually going to go against the grain on this one and say that Biscuits is a great cozy little place. It's clean and the food is good, what more could you ask for? Well, actually, the coffee was burnt and the service was slow, hence the four stars. I ordered the bacon omelette because I'm huge bacon fan. Give me a package of bacon with rice and eggs and I'm set. If I was stranded in the middle of the desert, I'll take bacon over water anyday LOL Anyway, getting back to my omelette. The eggs were fluffed just right, and there was an enormous amount of crispy bacon. There aren't many places which give this amount of meat with their portions. The potatoes were cooked just right, and the pancakes were nice and fluffy. This was one of the better breakfasts I've had here in Oregon. I haven't eaten here for lunch, but their breakfast is awesome. The service could be better, and the coffee seriously needs an overhaul. Other than those two gripes, I love this place! read more

I could have eaten a hundred biscuits. This was my first time at Biscuits, as I am visiting a friend who lives in Portland. This is not a fancy breakfast - eggs, pancakes, and - of course - biscuits. Portions are large, prices are reasonable (our total for three people was $34 and change). Our server, Lisa, was fantastic. Steered us in the right direction for menu selections. I hesitated on ordering the sweet potato pancakes (which I thought would be like potato latkes, but are actually pancakes) but she said they were great so I got 'em. So tasty! This is not lite fare. You might want to park a few miles away and jog there to work off some of the calories you will inevitably consume. Sigh. This place did absolutely nothing for me I went on a weekday there was literally two tables of people my waitress dropped off my plate and and never returned. I got egg whites and vegetables... The vegetables were not fresh or rich in color. I ordered off script so it's fine I will give them a pass however I did get a biscuit...... Drum roll......Pass! I'm sure it was made from scratch but that was it nothing about it with special or it made me want to order 16 more. I feel like you might be better off at Popeye's or in the Safeway biscuit freezer section. If you just need breakfast in order not to pass out sure, unfortunately from what I've experienced... A nice place for breakfast or lunch. Went to the dentist in the same strange strip mall at the corner of Baseline and Jenkins..sort of a corner-more like a curve...opposite the Elmonica Transit Center. An early dentist appointment got me out of the house before I ate..by the time my consult and cleaning was over I was starving and in need of caffeine. Biscuits was a short walk down the sidewalk and was almost empty at 10:30AM. The coffee isn't coffee house but it was ok. The offerings were ok too. Biscuit and gravy..not sausage gravy, more of a pepper country gravy. I think they miss a good option by not offering a saucy sausage gravy but this is a chain and I assume theres not a lot of room for creativity. But I do love a good spicy sausage gravy-add a scrambled egg and glass of oj and I was out of there for under $10.00, including tip..... full and ready to tackle Costco at noon. Not spectacular, nothing to brag about BUT better than I've had at many other places and for less bucks. Service, by the way, was great..the busboy found a copy of the Oregonian for me to peruse and kept my coffee cup full, brought extra jam & butter for the spare biscuit I didn't want gravy on. The biscuits are pre-made and seem a bit over mixed before baking - not flaky, more like a bread than a biscuit however still fresh and not stale; their sausage gravy is well simmered and cooked as well as made with a home made sausage with a pork and beef mixture - looks like some parsley in it as well really brightens it. The French toast is exquisite! Good caramelization, the bread is soft and cut thick - left in the egg batter just long enough to not be soggy, fresh butter and the syrup is good - not too rich like Mrs. Butterworth's but still a little generic. The most important thing they do well here is the coffee, which is their own custom roast. The food is competent typical American cafe fare. The burgers are pretty good. Salads could be better. The lettuce is at least not iceberg, and there are no disgusting fake croutons. The dressings are better than the usual corporate bottled junk, but none are really good. The balsamic is too strong, too sweet, and the blue cheese is watery and bland. All of the meals are too large. I'd like to order a smaller portion especially for breakfast. The worst thing I've ordered was Eggs Benedict, which have utterly fake hollandaise. A real shame. So much so I probably won't ever go back, except for coffee. read more

It was a nice sunny weekday morning when we stopped here. We opted to sit outside. There is parking and it does get fully on the weekends. They do serve non-breakfast items and we were on the cusp of that. We opted for breakfast anyway and it was delicious. Service was fine. It was very routine. We were seated. We were given our beverage and food orders and then we were given our receipt later...after we asked for it. Payment is at the front. It would have been nice to be told this. We haven't eaten in a restaurant in, really, years....probably about 8 years for me, at least. My SO wanted to take me on a day-long date, breadfast and lunch and the Zoo in between. Breakfast at Biscuits was the best choice and it's about the closest breakfast joint for us....I don't understand what people are looking for when they dis the decor of this place. It's a restaurant and has an open kitchen and stacks of very colorful crockery. The place is clean and relaxing. It was maybe a third full and we had no problems with the acoustics - we could hear each other just fine. The service was not only impeccable, but our waiter, Boaz was very personable. I knew how to pronounce his name correctly and, it turns out, he went to school with the only other Boaz I know. I know, I know...get to the food. It was great. Everything was cooked the way we wanted it and I appreciated choices that would fit a gluten free diet. However there was no GF option for the biscuits or toast. Servings were big enough that I had to leave something behind. The bacon was amazing - thick, meaty and 4 slices! I had to give some to the SO. The coffee was so good that I only had to use a little half and half... and Boaz said that he had larger cups - good to know for my next visit. I wish they had something gluten free that I could smear with their highly recommended jam, but next time, I'll just eat the damn jam... Most restaurant owners don't realize how many people out here can't eat gluten or would appreciate the option. This is the ONLY reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 - it's just my own way of working toward better understanding in the restaurant industry of gluten free food and the people who need it. This place has pretty good food but the staff is very unprofessional. Customer service is not at the forefront of the staff working in the front. My main interaction with the staff was with a lady named Tiffany. Tiffany and her colleagues were rude and lacked the ability to resolve a paid customer issues. This is a reflection of poor leadership and management. I ordered food online and got confirmation that this place received my order. When I went to pick up my order, my food was not only not ready, but the staff did not make any attempt to remedy the situation. I showed Tiffany my confirmation but she just told me that they didn't have any online orders. I actually saw other online orders that were in an area waiting to be picked up which was contrary to what she told me. Extremely unprofessional. It's obvious that the staff is untrained in customer service. For that I rate this place 1 star. read more

Bad stuff up front: My first assumption about this place is that the biscuits and gravy would be the bee's knees. I mean, it's called "Biscuits" for cryin' out loud. But, sadly, the biscuits suck. They might be homemade, but they don't seem like it. Maybe too much time under a warmer or something? And the gravy was just pretty bland. Definitely needed more sausage. I read a different review that said the omelettes were lame, so I haven't even tried them. I found the chicken and waffle to be pretty bland as well, but maybe I'm just not a chicken and waffle kind of guy. I'd never ordered it before and frankly I don't know what compelled me to try it. On to the good: The coffee is good and mugs are huge. That goes a long way for this Navy veteran. Granted, last time I went I was never offered a refill, but I just walked over to the coffee pot and waited for someone to come buy. They were busy and I didn't mind taking a few steps. I actually really enjoy the breakfast burrito. I recommend extra sour cream. The eggs benedict have been quite good as well, though slightly overcooked. One of the waitresses looks almost identical to the woman (Sophie Turner) who plays Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones. That alone isn't a good reason to visit, but it's interesting nonetheless, and she's super nice. You can tell your party on the way to Breakfast that you have a feeling you're going to meet someone famous and then claim that you were *THAT* close to being right.
