"HABIT Burger and Grill" opened April 1, at 10719 SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy. Across the street is a new Chick fil A, and another 1/2 block away will be an In n Out, that has been working with the city for 3 years and are clear to build. There are many places to eat within walking distance. The name Habit? In a strip mall? Opening on April Fools Day? One of the first 10 to arrive for opening day, ordered their signature, "Double Charburger with Cheese." Can order at the counter or at their kiosk which I required assistance. Really needed to push hard. There were at least 50 team members ready. Every team member seemed 100% focused on the customer experience. Ambiance was great. Clean restrooms. Cleaned up immediately even water spots at the drink counter. Customers came in nonstop, easily a dozen a minute. I chose to eat inside due to the rain. Hands down, my Double Charburger w/Cheese was the best looking, smelling, and tastest burger that I have ever eaten! The seasoning was perfect. Opening the wrapper, I didn't need to put my burger back together. My food was hot. And did I mention tasted great! This is my first ever review but I never buy anything without reading every review first, so I thought I would give back. Received a tote bag opening day with a lot of items. The adult sunglasses fit perfect and built well with a sticker that said UV400 and curious I scanned the QR code. Took me to the National Institute of Health and the glasses have been registered and tested to be used as a Medical Device with many specifications. Summary: The sun emits different types of ultraviolet rays. UVB rays (280-315 nm) are the primary cause of sunburn and surface damage like photokeratitis (snow blindness). UVA rays (315-400 nm) penetrate deeper into the eye, contributing to cataracts and macular degeneration. A proper UV400 lens blocks both types completely. Habit Burgers taking so much care in promotional items tells me that they care about their customers. There won't be any corners cut in obtaining the highest quality food items and service every time with every customer! Burger waited under lights for 5minutes while they waited for fries to cook. Result: burger was lukewarm, lettuce was wilty and taste was average. I ended up not finishing this tiny burger that cost $13 with fries and a drink. Service is almost non-existent... you place your order at a kiosk and wait 14 minutes for your order. I used to like going to this casual restaurant chain when I visited California, so I was excited to see one open near my home here in Portland. At the new Beaverton location I ordered the veggie burger and tempura green beans--the usual things I would always get. Perhaps my good memories of Habit Burger have betrayed me, or maybe the food quality has just taken an overall dive, but this was a disappointing experience for sure. The veggie burger was a floppy, mushy, flavorless joke. The tempura green beans were fine, but needed a good sauce to jazz them up. I am always looking for a good place to get a veggie burger, and this definitely ain't it. read more

Its nice to see a new place come into town. We ordered take out from here and were pleasantly surprised at how good the double char burger was. It has that nice grilled taste to it. I liked that they had a condiment station for you to add extra jalepenos and chili peppers. The chicken club could have been better. The chicken was slightly dry for me. Wow! What a surprise and the flavors were so fun and unexpected! Firstly, download the app and get a free Cheeseburger. Secondly, order on the app and avoid the long line. Thirdly, order the $10 Habitat special. I think it changes. This time it was half a Santa Barbara burger with avocado , a side, I got the fried green beans, 5 chicken nuggets and a drink. I got the avocado ranch sauce and the cucumber limeade. Really unique flavors and again, unexpected from a fast food place. The staff was kind and attentive. The order was done quickly even though a large line was forming. The patties have a grilled smoky flavor. Loved the avocado ranch and honestly, the fried green beans were so fun. The food was good. There has been a lot of hype around this place. I've tried it before years ago in Las Vegas and I remember it being a lot better. One thing for me that's a pet peeve is when employees are standing around at work and there are dirty tables to be wiped down, there is crap all over the floors and the trash is full. You basically walk in and order your own food and drink on the kiosk and then they call out your number to come to the counter for pick up. This isn't a large restaurant so when there are dirty tables it makes it less desirable to sit and eat. The place just felt dirty. Food meh! read more

First experience with Habit Burger. I got lucky. I slipped in at 6 on a Monday afternoon shortly after their opening last week and found myself with too many choices and no wait. So I just instinctively grabbed the basics...a bacon cheeseburger with fries. As I took a seat and waited, I saw a condiment bar offering pickled jalapeños, sport peppers, and pepperocini... they had the bases covered. By the time my order landed, the line was out the door and they all looked hungry and far more versed in what they wanted! Steak sandwiches and chicken sandwiches in sourdough, even a seared Ahi Tuna sandwich... not just fries but sweet potato fries, onion rings, and battered green beans! A milk shake list that i barely glanced at and a couple of specialty lemonade! There is a lot here and I will be back because based on the crowds reaction and my own personal experience with my humble meal... Habit Burger is worth standing in line for... but you might not have to! Compared to that other California chain that personally, I'm not a fan of... this burger had more flavor courtesy the Char factory... there aren't a lot of places doing char (especially without smashing it to hell and back). Habit burger is an old fashioned regular patty with precision char and fresh ingredients, thin but not too thin and not mealy fries. They boast a diverse menu with lots of options for a crowd (many of which feel like California) and friendly service! I highly recommend this chain over other options in the area! read more

I saw that Habit came to the area - I'd never heard of it before but apparently it's been ranked the best burger in America. So I stopped in for lunch on a weekday. Nice place and parking was easy. When I walked in, there were a couple screens to order from but both were off. So I went to the counter. Staff were really friendly and helped me order - I got the double char and a side of fries & green bean fries (the fifty/fifty). Sat outside under an umbrella and it was a pleasant spot. In terms of the food, the burger presented well - big, saucy, and lots of stuff (onions, pickles, lettuce, lots of cheese). But the taste just wasn't there for me - it was fine, but didn't hit me with that great burger flavor. The fries were fries, and the green beans were fun. I enjoyed it, but I don't think I'll crave it to return. read more

So driving down Beaverton Hillsdale hwy I see the Habit has taken the place of the pizza joint. I make note to stop by and give it a try next time I'm in the area. Stopped in and to got a single char with cheese, onion rings and a chocolate shake. It's really not a bad burger for a fast food place. They cook them fresh and every thing was hot. Way better than McDonald's & the king. Plus they have fry sauce. Give them a try. read more

I was driving towards Beaverton a week or so and noticed that the former Pizzacato that was located in the Target Complex had finally reopened as Habit Burger and Grill. I had never heard of this chain and went directly to Yelp to see what it is all about. It turns out if you download the app, you get a free burger if you bought a drink. I thought, why not? I ordered online and made sure I had 20 minutes to get there from Tigard on a Wednesday work day. I arrived early and a message was sent to sit in car until you receive a text that it's ready for pick up. After about 2 minutes after my time, I decided to go inside and check it out. Very clean, you are greeted by 2 kiosks to order your food, drinks and a "pepper bar" was to the left. Yes, you can add peppers to any of your sandwiches!!! My name was called a few minutes later and I was handed a cup for my drink. I am so happy it was not prefilled. I was able to "try" a sip from my intended drink a cucumber limeade that was so sweet and so not my jam. I opted for a tropical ice tea that was so good and not real sweet. The burger and French fries were really good and I enjoyed the fry sauce that was on the counter next to the ketchup. I typically am just a ketchup girl so fry sauce was a nice surprise. I am hoping for another free burger, maybe for future birthday? It blows me away how much takeout from a somewhat fast food joint costs but was happy with my choices and would for sure, visit the place again. read more

An elevated fast food expierence for a great price in this economy. We went on the 3rd day of opening during dinner rush and the staff is friendly and well trained. We waited about 10 mins and sat outside. Decor I would say is pretty standard like shake shack. We ordered a double char burger and a char burger sub lettuce wrap. The bugers are really good! It looks almost like the ones you see on a commercial. Fries are decent and the strawberry limeade tasted better than the cucumber. What sets the habit from the other burger places is thier pepper bar. They have hot picked peppers, jalapeño and pepperoncini to give your burger that extra pickled boost. All that for 26 bucks! In the early part of 2000 we used to go to the original hamburger habit in Santa Barbara. It was closer than In and Out and we could walk to the beach. This spot on TV hi-way certainly doesn't have the proximity to gorgeous beach, but Target is in the parking lot. The smell took me back twenty odd years as I walked in the door to the old Pizzicato. The space completely changed into a modern clean strip mall burger joint. Being just opened I expected a long line and was pleasantly surprised. The team was in training but efficient in their movements, producing quality food and doing it during the lunch rush. Place was packed and I didn't notice and unhappy face in any of the booths or those waiting. I got my beeper and waited in the crowded space for my order. After a few minutes dodging other patrons I decided to move outside to enjoy the clean tables, umbrellas and traffic along TV hi-way whooping by. Burgers were very good with plenty of fresh fixings and onion rings deliciously crunchy. Habit, oh yeah and if I was younger and didn't have to watch what I eat I'd make it one. The burgers are the most delicious burgers I've had in a long time. Let me just say it's not a good thing for my wallet. However, I am grateful Habit hasn't skimped on their quality of their food. I would rather pay extra than pay for food where the price has gone up but quality suffers. Sadly, I can't order too often. 2nd time here, service is excellent, the place very nice and modern, the food really on the little above average but not too much. Would I take it over McDonald's and Burger King? Absolutely!!! The prices are great compared to other places. Is it better than Carl's Jr?? I don't think so. Is it better than in n out??? Hubby and I ate here today. For $32.00 we got a double charburger, a charburger, an order of onion rings and fries. Everything was so salty even my burger was salty. We ate it because we paid a lot for the meal. We're so bummed. We've never had salted onion rings at other restaurants. We won't be back. read more

I happened to drive by and saw this place. As I love a good burger I instantly went to yelp. I got two double char burgers with cheese, tempura green beans and I had to try the strawberry lime aid. I did have a long wait for my order but in fairness I was there during the dinner rush so I'm not complaining. The burger was very good and good quality not your typical high grease hamburger you find at other places. We really liked the tempura green beans. The strawberry lime aid was very refreshing.
